Circuit Max after PS

Hello everyone,

I have read that you should not do weights on consecutive days. However, I assumed that meant heavy lifting. Is it OK to do Circuit Max the day after PS (any tape), since CM is light weights only. I did PS Legs today and would like to do CM tomorrow if the weather is cold and I can't run.

I have seen rotations for PS with CM the day following, but just want to confirm that to myself.

Thanks

Yen

Hi Yen,

It has always been my opinion, or rather thought process, that it's better to do something like Circuit Max the day before a heavier weight workout (like PS SLA) rather than after, if you're going to do them back to back. I figure since PS is more of a muscle building session, I wouldn't want to be doing any workout which puts specific focus on the legs the day after that may interfere with muscle recovery. I'm less concerned about doing it the other way around. I realize that CM uses compound exercises, but there is still leg work (I personally focus more on the legs during the weight segments). I think it's ok to be doing cardio stuff, but I avoid CM and BodyMax type workouts right after PS or S&H. This is not to say you can't put CM or BM right after PS SLA every so often, but I wouldn't do it consistently. Again, really depends on the weights you would be using in CM.

Just my thoughts on the matter!

Hi Yen,

Somewhere under "ask Cathe" Cathe just recently answered this question and she said that CircuitMax can preceed or follow a weight workout. I don't remember the thread title, but the post (er) was asking this same question about CM as well as one of the new workouts which is suppose to be much like CM.
So according to Cathe, yes you can do CM after weights, just stay light with the weights you use.
