Christi Taylor DVD's not On Demand

Armywife

Cathlete
I read yesterday on Christi's website about her doing more DVD's instead of the ON Demand workouts you have to download. I asked if I was reading it correctly that she would be making more DVD's and she answered back that she is in negotiations for 3 new ones. Yippee. I hope they are advanced! August, I know you will be happy about this one! Here is the link.

I'm not August, but thanks for the link Toni! I haven't been onto Christi's site for a couple weeks so I didn't know that she has some DVDs in the works. This is so exciting.

Yeah, I hadn't been there for a while either since she said she was just doing the On Demand workouts and I am not spending money on that especially after seeing the clip. But I was bored and decided to look over there to see if anything new was going on and I was so surprised. I had the impression that she would no longer make DVD's so I was so excited when I saw that. I really hope they are for advanced. I love her style and it's nice to have something different sometimes. Well, here's to watching and waiting! I'm glad you guys are excited too.

No problem August. Once I saw that post on her website I immediately thought of you and knew you would be happy too!!!

Sorry to jump in here, but I am a Christi fan also, so I have been lurking along here. I looked at her board, and I have to say I am disappointed, as she has explicitly stated she will not be doing anymore really advanced choreography, as in 9801 and SGC. I am bummed. There was so few good complex instructors out there, and now she is admittedly out there to just sell lots of videos.

I am very disappointed.

I'm a Christi fan too and welcome this news. I also thought the on demand workouts looked good too. I wonder why she changed her mind and decided to go forward with making news dvds?

I have to agree with you Conni. There are very few complex, advanced instructors. I only started doing Christi a few months back and she was great. I have the Fantastic Four, Totally Hot Cardio, Totally Cool Step and CIA 9801. I am very disappointed as well. But I really do like Rob Glick and Patrick. I love Amazing Step Styles from Rob and Step My Way from Patrick. I just got Step Gone Wild by Rob but haven't tried it yet. I previewed it and it looked good. I also plan on getting Patrick's new one, Step Up.

I just get the feeling we are being sold out, you know? I understand business is business, but I find it kind of tacky when you flat out say "hey, you guys aren't a big enough group to cater to, I can make more money by dumbing ( no personal puns intended here ) down my abilities. That is just wrong.

Rob is okay, but not intense enough, imo. Patrick is okay, but I find my heartrate going down too far when he is in teaching "mode". Christi's stuff just flows so well.

You may want some of Franny Bennedetto's older stuff from CIA, it is the closest I could find to Christi, especially Cardio Parties.

Thanks for the suggestion Conni. I admit Christy may be more intense but I also like Patrick and Rob just for the fun factor. I'll have to check out the Cardio Parties. I tried Franny's CIA 9704 but wasn't that impressed.

Oh that is an old one. I think you would really like Cardio Parties!

I also thought 9905 was good. I wore my tape out. I would probably get it in DVD if Greg ever converts them.

Christi did say that the choreo would be along the lines of Solid Gold Step and Cardio Collectibles. If that's the case, then I should be happy. SGS and the first half of CC have a high fun factor for me (the high/lo on CC just never clicked with me so I mish mosh CC step with other cardio).

I've tried other instructors with complex choreo. I do like both Patrick Goudeau and Rob Glick. The fun is definitely there with them but not the intensity :( . The only instructor besides Christi that comes close is Seasun Zeiger, but she doesn't have the great music that Christi usually has. Let's hope that Christi comes thru for us choreo fans.
