Catherine - Yes, they are the same exercise. I did mine with a hammer grip. Is that what you did or did you palms to the ceiling like you would with a BB? You've got some strong triceps, I am very impressed (and jealous!:p)
 
Actually my palms are facing each other- definitely not like with barbell. DBs are lowered down by the ears, if that makes any sense. At one point I was doing 22.5#s, but slacked off a bit and cant' get back there.

Today is leg day :eek::eek::eek:

Today I did 4 DS Double Cardio.

Catherine - Okay we are doing the same exact exercise. My big problem with that exercise is my left arm gives out before the right. By the end of the sets are start having problem controlling the weight with my left and my elbow start to move around. I thought from all the sets yesterday that my triceps would be really sore, but they seemed to have the opposite effective and the DOMS I did have disappeared? :confused::confused::confused: Enjoy your leg day. That's my next w/o and I am not looking forward to it I hate BSSs.
 
Linda, I used to have the problem of one arm giving out too. I did some extra sets on that side for a while and it seemed to even out.

BSSs are so good for you. I love to hate them LOL!!

My leg workout is done. Pretty simple, but effective:

Squats:
warmups sets 40#-8, 70#-6
working set- 85# 3 sets of 12 (same as last week, but went a little deeper)

RDLs:
90# 3 sets of 8 (+5#)

Pistols:
3 sets of 10 (+2 reps per set)
still doing these with the step and holding on a bit to my cage. set my step at 12 instead of 14 inches this time and really got in there!!

GSL:
Calf work and floor work

Again, I hate floor work, but this one isn't too bad. I really think it hits some weak areas for me.

Anyone out there chinning or pulling????
 
I will be doing some form of cardio after some much needed coffee!! My legs are a bit sore today.

Morning Catherine-

Weekend just started for me actually (I work on sats so sun/mon is my weekend).
I wil be doing my up's today ..at the playground :)
Ill do 5 sets OH 5 sets UH (they're modified of course as the bars aren't tall anought to hang from).
Then Ill come home and do some pullovers and then on to shoulder work (im currently doing horizontal on one day and verticle on another :)

Do you do your cardio fasted? I never liked the idea but was going to do it today however.. but I slept in and its hard to not have my shake first thing in the morning :) but i was wondeirng how those that do it empty feel bout it..
 
Workout is done!! I decided on P90X+ Interval X and Abs/Core+. Tony kicked my butt!!! I am sure my legs are gonna feel it later. Between the moves in IntervalX and yesterdays leg w/o :confused:

Pebs, I never workout fasted. I need something for energy LOL!! I guess I made it sound like I might talking about my coffee- that's essential too ;) Good luck at the play ground and with your w/o!!
 
Just did pullups. I did assisted with my light band because my shoulder was a little quircky. 3 sets of 6 and 2 sets of 5.
 
Morning Chinning Crazies,

Well, I am not even sure I want to post this morning's workout!:eek: It was legs and shoulders and I had to lower the weights on most everything. First, the shoulder is still having issues and really doesn't like any pushing movement, even the pushups in the warmup hurt. Then yesterday I spent the day at the water park and legs were just tired and not up for it. That's my story and I'm sticking with it!:p:p

Linda, stop being so hard on yourself. Your numbers are great!!! And you know yourself that we all have "off" days. Your shoulders sound like mine. They have been a bit wonky lately!!! I think we should listen and be careful ;)

 
Thanks, Catherine. I must have done about a million stairs at the water park yesterday and then I had to be up a 5:30 this morning.:eek:
 
Did BM2 double upper body premix minus the abs this evening. Followed it up with LM step combos 1-4 (intended to get ~ 30 mins of cardio) followed by walk the dog :p BM2 double upper body is very deceptive :confused: My upper body is fried. I think I increased my wts on everything except shoulders.

Linda, no wonder you struggled. I forgot about you doing the water park!!

Well, DD is off to school for the first time this morning and I am all alone. Feels so weird!:eek: This morning I did Amy's ASC III combos 1-4, took about an hour. Still struggling w/ combo 2.

Catherine - Nice workout. It's been awhile but I remember BM2 DUB being brutal. So how ya feeling today?
 
So Linda, your little one is off t school. How'd that go?

I'm having a bit of DOMs today esp back. This evening I'll be doing 4ds KB with legs first then KB :eek:
 
DD was so excited to go to school she was up half an hour early, at 6:30:eek:. She was excited and happy all morning and kept asking DH if he was ready (he drives her). It wasn't till the hit the parking lot that apprehension set in and she said to DH "Daddy, I think I need you to come with me". But after a brief explanation she was fine. She's home now and I am waiting for her to pass out from being up so early!

Catherine - Good luck with that w/o KB after legs!!!:eek:
 
Linda, what a cute story with your little girl!!

KB is tough after doing legs :eek: My kicks were less than stellar. Well, there never stellar anyway :eek: Good workout though. Not a ton of wt work, but just enough to get in there good. Linda, do you have this one? I forgot about those bleeping low plane lunges again :confused: Those almost make me cry!!

Ok, where is everyone else????? Part timers:p:p;)
 
Catherine - I do have 4DS but I have done or even viewed the weight work. Well, correction I have done tricep band pulldowns and some calf work, but that is it.

Was up for over an hour last night with major tension in my neck from hauling crap out of my attic yesterday. This morning's workout was upper body and everything was a complete experiment trying to find what I could and could not do with the shoulder. I am disappointed to say that the shoulder is really messed up, but I was able to lower the weights and do things without any pain. So here it is and my motto for today was from Cathe..."It's all about how you spend your time under tension"

6/6/6 - 30's **down 11#, had to lose the incline, but did these excruciatingly slow, Up 4 count, down for 8**
Rear Delt Flyes
10/10/10 - green band ***couldn't use weight and bend over, band was anchor around a pole and count was Out 2, Hold 2, Release 8***

Superset B
One Arm DB Row
6/6/6 - 52 **this stayed the same***
Floor Press
8/8/8 - 35's ***down 5#, count was Up 2, Hold 4, Lower 2 - chest was shaking like mad by the end***

Superset C
DB Tricep Extensions
8/8/8 - 20's ***dropped 1/2 #, because I struggle with the left arm and needed to make sure I controlled the elbow position for sake of the shoulder***
Incline DB Curls
8/8/8 - 23 1/2 ***stayed the same, DH said arms looked to bulky w/ this exercise:D:D***

Then cardio at 30/90 ratio for 6 rounds doing wind spirits out side. Really happy that the knee is doing so well!:D:D:D:D

Catherine - Was gonna attempt pull-ups this morning but then after having to adjust the weights I thought better of it.
 
Linda, that w/o sounds like a burner!!! I don't blame you for not doing any pullups :D

I am planning SZ and chinups this evening. I will report back later :)
 
Ok, I have to say that I am pretty proud of the fact that I even worked out this evening!! I've been grumpy and tired all day. Even during the warm up I was saying to myself "just take a rest day" Well I persisted and I feel much better about it!! I did SZ and weighted chinups with 10#. My chinup numbers were pretty good: 3 sets of 5 and then 4/2, 4/2 (I know you all know this by know but first number is unassisted/second with light band-both with wt vest on). Not too shabby for someone who didn't want to w/o :cool:

Where are the rest of you chinning ladies??
