chinup check in 7/2

I thought I'd start a newthread.

Day 1 of 90 is down. Today was Chest & Back. I forgot how hard this workout is. I was rather disappointed with my chinup and pullup performance. But I also realize that it is harder to do these while working upper body. There are a total of 6 sets where Tony does chinups. I did a total of 6 single pullups and 3 sets of 2 chinups and 3 sets of 1 chins. A far cry from my 3 sets of 4x( I think I will try some chins again later after my arms aren't so tired from doing pushups.

Hey HB, I did a total of 171 pushups on my toes!! I believe that's my max.

Oh and Briee, thought of you during Ab Ripper X :p :p Did I mention how much I hate working abs!!

I know a lot of you guys are out of town. Hope you enjoy yourselves. Jeff (dh) is going to the race track today. Alas, I cannot. Still recovering from my TCA peel. My face looks horrible right now, but I know it'll be worth it!!!

I try to do chins before everything else, cardio included. They really take a lot of strength, so I think it's best to do them first. Great job - 171 pushups is fab! I want to do a lot today since I don't have to go to work until Wednesday. That means exercise as much as I can on my days off. I did chins yesterday - I find that I do better when I do no assisted ones, it's the real deal or nothing - my totals are better that way. It's just like push-ups - you get better by doing more.

Yeah, I agree it's best to do chins all by themselves before other work. But Mr Tony Horton has this workout called Chest & Back where he alternates pushups and chins or pullups. I am doing (again) the 90 day program- but I may have to modify so I can keep my progress ups with chins and pullups. It's an awesome program, but I can make it my own now that I know (sort of) what I am doing. I do credit this program for getting me there in the first place. Oh and I stopped doing assisted or negative work over a month ago and my numbers did improve!! Go figure.

Thanks for your encouraging words!!

Soooosan,

Just to let you know (read your post in the other thread) I am doing negatives again.:)

Hi everybodeeeeeeeeeeeee:7

Wow, Catherine, 171 push-ups! I'm really impressed with your strength.

HB and Catherine, I ALWAYS do my chin-ups before a workout, preferably at least an hour before. I can't imagine doing set after set interspersed with push-ups like Tony does in C & B. I am just not there.

Melody, glad to hear you're chinning again!:)

Soooooooooooosan, the nerve of those people in your paper!! They misspelled your name LOL!! You look marvelous !!!

Thanks for the compliments on the pushups!! It was a tough workout. My back is sore today. Can not remember when that happened last. Today is Plyo X and I really want to do IMAX2- Oh well. I can tell I may not make it long on this rotation. My heart is not in it. I will esp be altering it if it doesn't work for my chins and pullups!!

Alas, Catherine, people all over the world continue to misspell my name, no matter how I try to educate them.:p

I see no reason you can't sub Imax2 for Plyo X. They're both high intensity cardio and pretty much accomplish the same things.

I'm back to doing my chin attempts.
My last,'pre-break', try was 1 3/4 unassisted, followed by some negatives. Yesterday, before doing Jari Love's "Ripped to the Core," I did 1 nose up plus 3/4, followed by 4 10-count negatives.

Kathryn, glad to see you are back at it!!

Ya know I didn't take my own advice. Drink plenty of water. I have been having some serious DOMS since restarting up on Sunday. But now that I think about it, I have been shorting myself on water intake. Go figure!!

Happy Fourth everyone
