(((((((CHINTASTICA)))))))

Judi, nice job with 4DS upper body! And yay on the chinups and pullups!! You know I find that I can really concentrate on my form when I am using the band- and yes they do work you nicely even with the band ;)

Guess What???? I just did Low Max step combo-yep that's right!! I did it on the platform only, but I did it. I have forgotten how to mambo cha-cha  I had to concentrate really hard and was super careful to make sure I didn't put undo stress on the foot. It felt so good to do it. My foot is now throbbing a bit though. I am sure that is normal.

Tomorrow starts our Vacation Bible School at church and I am and will be super busy. Will try to stop back and chat later! Headed to rehersals right now.

I felt like doing absolutely nothing this morning. But I pushed through and at least did something.

IMAX2 through first blast as warmup.

Two warmup sets of ten reps.

DB Curls - 10's
Lying Ext - 10's

1 Pyramid Set, Rep Pattern 6, 10, 15, 6 to failure(at this point you return to the original weight you started with)

Barbell Curls
61# - 6
56 - 10
51# - 15
61# -6
***Upped all sets by 1#
superset w/
Lying Extensions
52# - 6
47# - 10
42# - 15
52# - 9
***Upped all sets by 5#

Skipped shoulders because I was in no mood to do them.

Then did 4 more combos & blasts from IMAX 2 doing intevals, 2,4,5,6. Skipped 3 because I hate it. Workout was 45 min and burned 307 calories.

And that is all..... as Debbie would say!:D

I guess I have more proof that I haven't been pushing myself hard enough with STS. This morning was Chest & Back disc 34. I did the warm up sets and then set up for the first working set. I was supposed to have 80 pounds on there. I did the first set and it seemed super heavy, but eeked out 8 reps. On the second set I failed on the 7th rep. So after that I lowered to 75 pounds and thought "this is way too easy". That's when I realized my first two sets were with 90 pounds instead of 80:eek: I did 80 pounds for my last set. The rest of the workout was on spot with what I was supposed to do. Except I went light on BB rows at 65# and subbed DLs with band assisted wide grip pullups. I really need to get back to chins and pulls unassisted.

Oh and I have some serious, moving slow lower body DOMS:D

Just finished the kicking and punching combos from KM with weighted gloves on. I have to do sissy tap the foot jumping jacks though  But hey, it was about 30 mins of light cardio-not a real heart pumper, but I was awful sweaty. I think it's because it's hotter than you know where here

CCV2 on the stationary bike is done. I stepped up challenge 3 a little and added a little steady state at the end. We will be heading out for Father's Day with DH's family after while. I'd rather stay home, be lazy and nap :(

This morning I did 4DS HIS Back & Chest, including the weight work for the first time. But I did the weights first premix. Boy that woman likes pushups :p. Anyway I went heavier than Cathe on everything, but went too heavy on the Incline Flyes and managed to strain something in my neck, of all places. Hurts like he**!:(:(:(

Catherine - Sorry we left you talking to yourself! :p Nice job on the workouts and doing what you can.

Linda, sorry about the neck. Time for a massage ;) And yes Cathe does love pushups!!

I didn't mind talking to myself :p

I did LIS step cardio only this evening. I don't know, the foot still stings and burns with activity-it frustrates me  I've done everything the podiatrist told me. I should be able to do a bit of low impact step by now. It's been almost 9 weeks :( It's not bad, but I just want to be pain free. I'll go back to the bike for another week or so and retry, but I don't see that making a difference. Sorry to be so whiney.

Oh and I did AC SB abs. I didnt do the one-legged pikes and my two legged ones where a struggle

Ok, talk about a timely message. The very second I left here I went to Twitter. Well, I follow Joyce Meyer on Twitter and she had a message-based on Corinthians 4:16 "Don't look at how far you have to go, but at how far you have come."

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. "

The word is powerful!!

Catherine- Great words to live by....thanks for posting that:) I totally understand where you are coming from with your foot. Nothing wrong with wanting to return to your normal routine and be pain free. I would be frustrated too. Believe me, when I was six month post surgery for my rotator cuff, I was still only lifting a couple pounds and watching all my hard earned muscles shrivel up. It is tough so whine & vent all you want cuz I understand;) How is Bisquit doing??

Linda- Hope your neck is OK. There are a lot of push ups in 4DS chest & back but at least she has some variety. I love doing the all upper body premix.

Today I did Imax Extreme. I think tomorrow I'll do MM or ME just to shock things up since I've been on a strength mode for awhile.

I did 4DS Kickbox & legs, doing the weights first premix. All I can say is those low plane lunges are brutal! Had to skip the abs section because I ran out of time. Also have some good DOMS from yesterday! Workout was 1:05 and burned 458 calories.

Judi, IMAX Extreme  I am jealous!! I love MM and ME.

Linda, congrats on your DOMS- we know how much you love them!!

Today was my final STS w/o (upper body of course) One day I'll get to do the whole thing:eek: Today was Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps- alternating from one to the next. For simplicities sake I'll list each exercise and my numbers:

BB OH Press:
50# 8/8/8/8
(was only supposed to be 48#)

BB Curls:
52# 8/8/8/8

Lying DB Tricep Extension:
20.5# 8/8/8/8

Seated Lateral DB Raise:
12.5 # 8/8/8/8

Incline DB Curls on SB:
20.5# 8/8/8/8

1-Armed OH Tricep Extensions:
15.5# 8/8/8/8

Rear Delt Flys:
15# 8(felt too light so ^ wt)
18.5# 8/8/8

Seated Concentration Curls
25# 8 (felt too light so ^ wt)

Cross Body Kickbacks

I really, really like what STS has done for my upper body!!

Today was MM and it kicked my butt! I haven't done endurance lifting in awhile and everything was on fire. It is amazing how you can lift so much lighter but it still kills ya:confused:

Catherine- Congrats on finishing STS! Impressive numbers you have there. I hope to curl 25's some day but right now I'm just getting comfortable with the 20's.

Linda- ITA about the low plane lunges:confused: How are you liking the weight training in the 4DS?

Endurance kills me  I need to change it up and do some endurance for the RT!!

I had absolutely no desire to workout whatsoever today, but I did it anyway. I did the Combo Only Premix from Tonya Larson's Step Surge. I could tell I was tired because my HR was higher on this workout than it should of been, because it's only an intermediate workout. I finished with abs from 4DS Kickbox then the stretch from Step Surge. Workout was 1 hour and burned 417 calories.

Judi - It's weird working out with Cathe again. Find I am very frustrated trying to keep up with the equipment changes without a crew on the sides doing it for me.:p But this week I have no time or energy to put any thought into what to do, so it's okay.

Chinning day & a good one!

First set was 8 unassisted followed by 6 with thinnest Iron Woody band; then 4 unassisted with 4 w/ band & 6 on incline w/ Total Gym; last was 2 unassisted & 3 w/band & 4 w/ TG. I was pleased with that! Biceps are pumped!

Linda- I'm having a "no desire to workout" day too. It is a cardio day but woke up pretty achy from my massage yesterday so I took the dog for a walk instead. Started raining on us so came home early and did an hour of yoga. UGH...I feel like a slug when I don't do my cardio:mad: I probably burned 10 calories!

Catherine- What do you have planned for today now that you are done with STS? How has your foot been holding up?

Nice "chin" workout Cakebaker!

Cakebaker, nice job on the chinups :eek:

Linda, wtg on working out when you didn't feel like it ;)

Judi, I totally understand that slug feeling when you don't do cardio  Tomorrow is another day. My foot has a split personality LOL! It's almost normal sometimes and other times it hurts. From what I understand this is normal. But I don't want to be in the "normal" category. I wanna be above normal

Today I did STS disc 12 for legs. Still modifying, but less. Certainly not increasing any weights, but I'll live with that for now. I am so glad I have my bowflex to use in place of some exercises.

Tomorrow will be my rest day. I am going out to dinner at Ruth's Chris
