(((((((CHINTASTICA)))))))

Linda, as usual, your numbers are impressive!! Hey, several of us girls are getting together for dinner Thursday (not sure where yet) but if you are interested, I'd love to see ya again.

Judi, nice job on the run outdoors. Are you gonna do some kettlebells this week?

Before I left work I had the stationary bike dread already  I even convinced myself to take the day off. I got home and told myself to get on that bike. So I did CCV7:eek: No challenge 3 for me please ;) My legs were fried!! I can not see me doing this one again any time soon LOL!! But hey, I did it!!!!

Catherine - I truly admire your dedication to working out that you would even get on the stationary bike! I tried it when my knee was bugging me and forget it!:p Also would love to meet with everyone for dinner on Thursday, it will be great to see you again!

Linda, I tell ya it's tough doing that bike and I could not do it without CC!! I will try to get with the girls and pin them down on where we will go to dinner and let you know.

So I woke up at 1:30 am with a migraine  Didn't sleep much after that. I am feeling better, but still not sure if I will w/o tonight or not.

How are you all doing????

Linda, I am trying to figure out the plan for Thursday on the RT. What time works for you to hook up?

Catherine - How's the head? Sorry to hear you had such a lousy night, just ruins the whole next day. I am pretty much open on Thursdays, so just let me know what works for you.

Today was Legs and I just kept all the weights the same as last week.

4DS through first blast as body warmup.

2 warm-up sets of 10 reps for every exercise.

Squats - 35#
Jump Squats - 8#
Sissy Squats - 8#
Romanian Deadlift - 35#

1 Working Drop Set, Rep Pattern 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20.

Squats - 115,105,95,85,75,65 #
Jump Squats - 30,25,20,15,12,10, #
Sissy Squats -35,30,25,20,15,12 #
Romanian Deadlift - 125,115,105,95,85,75 #
Squats - 55#
***I always want to quit at 20 reps here, but push through to 30.

Finished with both stretches from 4 DS HIS. Workout was 1 hour and burned 428 calories.

No workout for me today. I had to take DS to the oral surgeon this morning for wisdom teeth extraction and had planned to workout after but decided to bag it for today. All 4 teeth were impacted and two required some bone removal. There has been a lot of bleeding so I just keep changing out the gauze and getting the ice pack for the swelling.

Linda- Maybe I need to break away from Cathe if I want to increase my numbers. I think most of her workouts are endurance based without adequate rest periods needed to go heavy. Meso 3 of STS was probably the closest to what you do. I was up to 80# for bench press but felt that I couldn't go much heavier without a spotter.

Catherine- I agree that CC is a must with any stationary cardio equipment. It is the only way I can to do the elliptical or TM. I've only done one kettlebell w/o but for some reason I'm just not digging it right now:( Hope you are feeling better and can get more rest tonight.

I decided to can tonight's w/o and play it safe. My head is still throbbing a bit and I don't want to chance it. Tomorrow is another day.

Linda, I am proud of you for not upping your weights. I know how hard it is to resist that urge to keep upping them ;)

Judi, ouch on your DS's wisdom teeth :( I remember having that done. I hope he recovers soon!

Catherine - Is your head feeling better today?

Judi
- How's DS doing? The procedure sounded awful!

Didn't want to do step this morning. Also my left knee has been bugging me so trying to switch it up a bit. Did Amy's Kickbox Surge and got up the courage to wear my weighted gloves! Didn't do the core refining, so workout was 1:10 and I burned 603 calories.:D

Today was 4DS All Upper Body plus abs. I had a great workout moment during the pyramid up tricep extensions using 15, 20, 25, 30# DB. In the past, I've had to pause and take a longer rest before the 30's but today I just kept going and blew right through them! A small milestone but I was happy:)

Catherine- Hope you are feeling better today? What workout do you have planned?

Linda- ACK..you are gonna make me regret not getting KB Surge. Do you like it a lot better than ITR? I just don't want hi/lo masked as kick boxing like her KB Extreme was. DS is doing much better today and just has some facial swelling. Thanks for asking:)

Linda, nice job. I'd say you didn't need to do core work with those weighted gloves on ;)

Judi, that is a great w/o moment. I can totally relate. I always have to pause on those. Looks like STS kicked was a success!!!

Today I was fine, no headache. I was gonna do some legs this evening, but just wasn't in the mood. So I did tomorrow's w/o instead- STS disc 33 shoulders, biceps and triceps. 90% of 1 RM with 6 reps, alternating between shoulders, biceps and triceps. LOVED IT!!

Standing BB Press
45# 6 reps
46# 6 reps
48.5# 6 reps
51# 6 reps
(obviously wasn't going heavy enough on this one )

BB Curl
56# 6/6/6/6

Lying Tricep Extensions
21.75# 6/6/6/6

Seated Lat Raise
13# 6/6/6/6

Incline Curls on SB
22.25# 6/6/6/6

Seated 1-Armed OH Tricep Extension
16# 6/6/6/6

Seated Rear Delts
16# 6/6/6/6

Concentration Curls
26# 6/6/6/6

Cross Body Kickbacks
16# 6/6/6/6

Judi - Yes, I like KB Surge more than ITR, although it's been a little while since I did ITR. I did KB Extreme once and didn't care for it for exactly the same reason you stated. And I assure you the KB Surge is nothing like that! One of my favorite things about surge is that the combos (5) are pretty short, not an endless pattern of moves you hav eto try and remember.

Linda, nice job. I'd say you didn't need to do core work with those weighted gloves on ;)

Catherine
- That's how it felt too! Nice poundage there girl! Way to go!

Today was Back & Chest and Cardio

LIC through first blast as warmup.

2 warm-up sets of 10 reps for each exercise, superset style.

***Note that I did step assisted pullups for warmup

Assisted Pullups - BW
Incline Barbell Press - 35#

1 Pyramid Set, Rep Pattern 6, 10, 15, 6 to failure(at this point you return to the original weight you started with)

Pullups/Assisted Pullups
6,
4/6,
3/5/7,
3/3
***Black number unassisted, Purple band assisted, and orange switched to step assisted. Was not feeling strong at these at all today, so numbers are down from last week.:(
superset w/
Incline Barbell Press
87# - 6
72# - 10
62# - 15
87# - 6 to failure
***Increased all sets by 2#.

Then I did finished LIC cardio premix through stretch. Workout was 1:02 and burned
476 calories.

Linda, I was thinking nice job on those pullups. It is funny though how things can vary week to week like that. Nice job on the incline press!!

I went for a 2 mile walk this evening. I was a bit  that I could keep up with my sister. Usually she has to speed up to keep up with me. My gait is still not quite normal, I wonder when that will be normal again???

Hey Ladies- It was a cardio day today so I decided to give BM2 Cardio Blast Premix a whirl using an 8" step. I cannot believe the difference and my HR was through the roof! When I first found Cathe in '99, I did all her w/o's on an 8" step but over the years I've dropped to 6" to keep things more knee friendly. Plus I'm only 5' 3/4" tall so my short stubby legs have to work overtime:eek:

Linda- Nice workout! I would be extremely happy with those pull up numbers but understand where you are coming from.

Catherine- Hey...a 2 mile walk is great after everything you've been through with your foot and the surgery! How did your foot feel after?

Judi, nice job on BM2!! That is tough and on an 8 inch step- kudos to you

My foot is throbbing a bit, not to bad.

Catherine - You shouldn't feel bad at all, you are recovering from surgery, it's not like you were huffing and puffing trying to keep up.

Judi - Wow! BM2 on a 8"step and your not even 5'1". I am impressed, I would find 8" tough and I am 5'7".

Today was cardio and nothing sounded interesting, not step, not kickbox, not the treadmill, so I settled on 4DS BC. Then just to add some time, because I felt like I had worked hard enough I did three of the combos from Step Surge w/ Tonya Larsen and also the abs & stretch. Workout was 57 minutes and I burned 414 calories.

Linda, thanks! I just get frustrated at times. I am ready to be at full force. Nice w/o I love 4ds BC. Something a bit different when you're not in the mood for anything else.

Judi, I am getting excited about the RT and I am using that as my motivation to workout when I don't wanna :p So what are you doing today?

I did STS disc 9 (I think) Meso1 Wk3 legs. I actually did most all of the exercises (except the lunging ones). I did do the slide back lunges and the leg press very carefully and with no weight. I subbed in leg extensions, leg curls and kb single leg dl for the other lunging moves. I hope to have some leg DOMS tomorrow.

Linda- Yeah, I'm a runt. My siblings like to tease me that mom must have smoked, drank and dropped me stunting my growth:confused: Nice workout...I like 4DS BC too. Any fun plans this weekend?

Catherine- I sure can understand your frustration. Been there! Nice job on disc 9. Keeping my fingers crossed for some doms tomorrow for you!

Today I did 4DS all upper body plus abs. I really like this one. It hits all the muscles well and there is a good mix of heavy and moderate weights. I am happy to report that I did 2 sets of pull ups and 2 sets of chin ups in place of the BB rows. I could only do a few unassisted but even with the band assist, they were working me hard. I lifted heavier on a number of exercises and even banged out the final set of concentration curls with 20's and my arms didn't fall off:eek:
