Did not want to get out of bed this morning, just too exhausted! I did anyway and did Amy's ASC 3 through to the combined 3 & 4, which takes about an hour. Not sure if I am getting sick or just allergies (which I normally don't get), nose is running a little and head is a little stuffy, and just feel off.

Oh I did one pullup this morning with a real slow negative. Can anyone tell me why when you do a workout for the first time you get major DOMS, then the next time you do the same workout with HEAVIER weights and nothing? It's so frustrating!:mad:

It doesn't feel like a good morning, though. I have serious DOMS in my pecs and my back is a little sore. I'm not sick but I am feeling a little run down. Almost felt like doing yoga this morning but didn't have a lot of time so I did my planned cardio. Did one of my virgin workouts -- CIA 2502 - Step Inspirations with Heather Rider. It also has a medicine ball workout and a lower body shaping workout which I have yet to try. This one was good -- not too long (almonst an hour), complex but doable (got pretty much all of it on 1st try but was complex enough not to be bored).

I did a set of 4 chins last night (a new record!)

Catherine - Have a great workout tonight! Enjoy the firewalkers! I always get sore bis from PUB. I guess you could substitute KBs for a total body workout. Do you feel it's a cardio workout as well or a strength workout with a cardio effect (for instance L&G and Jari's workouts)? Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight without having to take anything. I get that zombie effect when I have to take an allergy pill.

Linda - I'm one of those that feel you don't have to get DOMS to have a great or effective workout but I usually get them if it's a new workout or one I haven't done in a while. I guess once you're body gets used to the new exercises, even if it's heavier weights, it doesn't matter. I hadn't done S&H in ages so I wasn't surprised to have major DOMS this morning.

As far as KBs are concerned I am not sure if they fall more as strength or cardio or combo. I haven't actually done the workout, just a few swings. My problem is that I have been doing splits for so long,..... I know I need to change it up a bit for a while. That's part of the reason why I bought the KBs in the first place. Change is hard :confused:

Linda, I agree with Marcy about the DOMS. But I have the same problem. I get DOMS with the first w/o and usually not again regardless of increasing the wt. I hope you are not getting sick :(
 
Oh, I agree too on the DOMS, and I know I worked hard. But Debbie aka FitnessFreak has a quote under her signature that goes.....

"If I'm not hurtin', I'm not happy!"

That is so me, regardless of the fact that I know better!:p:p:p:p:p
 
I like that pumped feeling that you get too. I can always tell when I am gonna have doms because my muscles are firm and a bit swollen after the w/o. Kinda sick huh???
 
B&Gs sure packs some punch :eek::eek: I did the first 42 mins. That's all of the standing leg work and some of the floor work. Used my 10# vest for most excercises plus the weights that were used. I really focused on the DLs and felt in in my hiney good!! I finished it of with the SB seg of Stretch Max--- ahhhhhh!!

12/12 - 13's Not quite ready for 15's again yet, so playing itr safe and working the negative hard.

Then cardio at a 45/90 ration for 6 rounds doing runs around the step and power 7's, then combos 1 & 2 from Amy's ASC 1.

Might head back later and do some pull ups!:p
 
Good Afternoon Chinsters!

Still no chinnin' for me (still recovering from Monday). Did S&H Shoulders today and stability ball segment from Mindy Mylrea's All About Legs. Pretty much like stab. ball in PLB but with more balance moves.

Front Raise - 5# 1st two sets; 8# last set (I usually do 10 or 12 for this but my elbow started hurting me immediately so I really scaled back.)
Side Raise - 8# all 3 sets
Posterior Delt Raise - Set 1 - 8#, Set 2 - 8# first 4 reps; 5# last 4 reps; Set 3 - 5#
Seated Overhead Press - Set 1 - 15#; Set 2 - 13# - 7 reps; 10# - 1 rep
Side Lying External Rotation - 5#

Catherine - Love DL's! Really get a great stretch in my hams. Funny, I get more upper body DOMS than lower. Good luck with the chins tonight! Love that stretch in SM2 where you just lay over the ball. Feels so good!

Okay, so I went back and did 6 pullups with a really, really, really slow count on the negative! And boy do I feel that in my lats!:eek::eek::eek::eek: Do I have to do more?:p:rolleyes::p:rolleyes:
 
I changed my mind and did RS this evening. Just wasn't in the mood for SZ. Chinups-9, 8/2, 7/2 &5/2 (second numer assisted). I so wanted to do 10 dang it!! Next week I will go back to weighted. I finished up with Stretch Max with the band. Trying to do more stretching.

Marcy, you are smart to scale back with your elbow bothering you. Oh, and I lovet that stretch over the SB too!!

Linda, woo hoo on the pullups!!! I guess we'll let you off the hook :p
 
Morning ladies. I can not decide if I will take my rest day today or tomorrow. I really should take it tomorrow. I have to get up early to take an elderly relative to the doctor and that usually turns into an all day affair. I will see how I feel after work.
