As much as I love chins, I have to admit my slackedness lately **is that even a word :p** So, it's time I get serious again. I did p90x+ total body today which has chins and pulls. So it's a start. But I also realized why I do chins on lower body or cardio days. I can not do near as many when I am working upper body at the same time :eek: Oh well:rolleyes:


So I am giving a shout out to all of you chinners out there!! Lets kick some bootay!!
 
Catherine you will be happy to know that my new rotation does include chins.

This morning's workout was tough, but my mind was much more ready for it.

Superset A
DB Incline Press
6/6/6 - 41's
DB Row
6 - 54's
6/6 - 53's **It was complicated to change my weights to 54 and I was struggling a bit on the left so I just went with the 53.

Superset B
Chins ups
8, 6/2, 4/4 **little disapointed on the last set, wrote this different, first number unassisted, second number assisted.
DB Chest Press
8 - 41's
8/8 - 40's *** always amazes me how different a DB press feels from a BB press, dropped the weight because had this pain in the bicep area of my right arm.

Superset C
Close Grip Pushups
24/20/20 ***this was suppose to be 25/25/25 but my chest was fried and I just could not do it!
DB Rear Delt Raise
10 - 16's
10/10 - 15's ***arms were just tired by this point***

Then cardio intervals at a 45/90 ratio for six rounds using Amy's ASC 1 power up 1, then I added a stretch segment from Amy's Abs & Stretch. I really do need to do more stretching.

Oh and here is a picture of what has been keeping me so busy!!!!

Linda, your kiddos are too darn cute!! I think your w/o looks good!!

I am not sure what I'll be doing today?????
 
I did 4ds double cardio premix this evening. Eating has been waaaaaay off lately. But today was better. I really need to get back into the swing of things!!
 
This morning was Amy's ASC 3. The great thing about taking a week off it all the wonderful DOMS you get when you start back....my biceps hurt, my shoulders hurt, my back hurts (in a good way ;)), my chest hurts ......

I am so with you on the eating thing, my eating has been terrible. Maybe we should start the no sweets challenge again....
 
Linda, I am all up for the no sweets challenge. We can just keep it here if you want. Yes, DOMS is such a wonderful reminder isn't it?

Today will probably be rest day as I will be leaving work and driving 40 mins to the funeral home. DH's friends father passed away, so will be paying respects. Doubtful I will get home in time to w/o. I guess I could have got up this morning and done it :eek:
 
Catherine-Thanks for starting the birthday thread - you big sweetie! I was wondering if you do any Kettlebell workouts and if so which ones are your favorite. I was thinking about getting a kettlebell.

Linda- I have such a sweet tooth. I might join in with you - after I have some cake :)

I'm going to go and do a chin now!

Joanne!!! Hope you are having a good B-day. I only have 1 KB w/o it's Lauren Brooks. I like it pretty well, but am new to it all. I am also taking a PT session with a certified KB instructor once a week. It seems to be helping my low back issues. Time will tell :)

Okay, ladies I am definitely ready for a no sweets challenge. Yes, we will just make it part of this thread. So how long to you want to go? What will be our goal?

Catherine, I was pretty excited to see that Walmart now carries Kettlebells at a pretty good price. I just may be able to afford one soon!:p Also, sorry to hear about your friend's father. On Halloween I had to drive an hour and fifteen minutes to my FIL funeral, in between Ds's school party & parade and Trick or Treat. It was a long day!
 
Linda, I am too tired to decide on rules for the no sweets :confused: For now I will just take it day by day. I will allow myself at least one cheat on the weekend :p So far for Monday and Tuesday I am in good shape!!

I haven't seen the Walmart KBs but I do like the go-fit ones at Target. They are too danged $$ though, but fun :eek:
 
Just back from errands and music class with DD. I have such major DOMS in the front part of my shoulders it hurts to unhook my bra! :p So needless to say anything using the shoulders was difficult today.

Then did cardio intervals at a 20/40 ration for 8 rounds.

Catherine - Ok, on the sweets thing. I did terrible yesterday, but am doing great today! I really need to get my weight back down. I have no idea what has gotten into me :eek::(.
 
Linda, I am jealous of your w/o. I so want to work my legs heavy again. But I really need to continue work on imbalance and low back issues **sigh**

So far today no sweets. Hopefully when I get home I can continue with that. I was gonna do B&Gs this evening, but now I think I will do Lauren Brooks KB w/o.
 
Linda, you too can have KBs :p

I just finished my w/o and man my butt was on fire!! Now, I have gone three days with good eating. That is if I make through this evening :eek:

Where is Ms Joanne? I thought she was joining us on the cleaner eating:cool:
 
Which workout did you end up doing? So far my eating was great today, maybe I should just go to bed now:p! Anyway, it's 8:20 and I really want an apple, do you think it's okay to have an apple at this hour or is it really suppose to be NO carbs before bed?
 
Linda, I don't buy the whole no carbs late thingie. As a matter of fact I just had some air-popped popcorn. So have your apple.

I did Lauren Brooks KB w/o. She's the only KB w/o that I have. At least right now :D
 
Afternoon All, this morning for some reason I woke up with major DOMS in my traps ?:confused:?, have no idea where that came from and a horrible pain that shoots up the back left side of my neck when I look down. And really don't have any idea what that is all about since I didn't do anything to my neck yesterday. Finally took some ibprofen to make it tolerable. Anyway I did Amy's ASC 2 through to challange 5 then did segment 2 of Amy's Abs and Stretch. It's been a while since I did ASC 2 and then I have only done it twice before, so I stumbled a bit. Challange 1 was the worse.

So how are all my unsweetened chinning obsessed peeps doing? So far eating has been good, no junk! I did end up having a couple of pieces of that apple with Naturally More PB. YUM!
 
Linda, uggh about your neck :confused: I hope it recovers soon!!

I just finished DM cardioblast premix. I haven't had any sweets but I did some damage on a bag of Lays :eek: I was doing so good too:confused:

Tomorrow I will do some chins and later is a KB session.
 
Thanks Catherine, since the ibprofen it hasn't felt to bad but definitely still there. I will be interested to see how it feels in the morning.:confused:

Good job on the DM, that's a tough workout. I have chins on the menu tomorrow, myself.
 
Oh yeah, the eating is going well too. I did have some bread earlier that I probably could have done with out, but I was really craving some carbs. At least it was sprouted grain bread.....w/ butter :p.
