Chin Ups Just For The Fun of It!!

Hey ladies. Finally some real chinup reporting LOL!!! I did GSL this morning with chinups!! I had a repeat of my 5 rep set YIPPEE!! It only took me two weeks to repeat this x( But hey, I am getting there!! I did a total of 21 in sets of 3&4 after that!! Oh and I must admit that I didn't do the floor work yet. I was exhausted after all the standing legs and chins LOL!! My eating has not been so great and I can tell in my workouts!!

Hey Sooooooooooooosan, how's things with your mom. I hope she is still doing ok.

Seriously, you and Briee should just get yourselves a room and tag along on the RT!!! I so want to meet you all!!

Hey Catherine-

I've been working on dead hangs and trying to lift a little. And, I mean a little. But, I am going to keep working on them. I can't let that bar be a waste of money :)

Reporting back. Done with GSL floor work. There, I did it!! Usually if I don't do it with the rest of the workout it doesn't get done, but I did this time LOL!! I also did a few pullups. Now my few is not Cathe's few. Ya know when she says "just a few more" and you have a gizillion more! A few means 3 to me and I did them in single sets. So chinups pullups and legs that's been my day.

I completely LOVE this attitude Joanne! I don't like to waste money...if ya buy it ya gotta use it.

Catherine....Silly, I can't do a million and one...I'm about at a 7 level right now, but last summer I did 12...man - it's tough to get it back. Now Sooooooooooooosan...she can do 896 - you must have been thinking of her!!

Wait ago on your chins Catherine..you've been working really hard!

Soosan...it WOULD be fun to get a room together and workout at the gym - tempting. My horse campout is the 16th and I was worried about getting back for it as our family would all drive out and visit everyone in PA (where my dh is from) and we'd have a long trip home. Still thinking!;-)

Posting to say that I'm LOVING OUR BEAUTIFUL WEATHER. I did legs and glutes on Saturday and then went for my first "ridge bike ride", 12 miles. It was beautiful and I thought of Joanne the whole way...have ya been out yet girl???

And Sunday I did Bryan Kests Power Yoga #2-Tone (and thought of Sooooooooooooosan throughout). I did NOT do this intentionally - somehow it skipped from #1 to #2 in the beginning and I didn't notice until the end when I thought "hey-where's tree pose????? this was pathetically void of any tree pose whatsoever"....it's what I do best!!x( x( ;) !!!! I'm doing #1 next time - liked it much better. (with "like" being on a what I hate the least kind of a scale:p :p :p ).

Did GSC&T this morning. That's about it! Have a great day chinners!!

Briee (I just read Cathe's response to unregistered attendees and I think she'd rather us not show up at the club and cause trouble Soosan - I know you really wanted to do this, but we just have to say NO. Maybe we could work out in a "nearby" club and sneak in and hold up bunny ears behind her head when she does her "5 minutes of stardom" segment with Catherine or Joanne.....how about it????}( }( }( )
 
Briee-Yes, I have been doing a lot of bike these last several days. Yesterday, I rode my bike to work. It was great (well, maybe not that great at 7:00 a.m. when it was so foggy).

Catherine-You read my mind about doing a chin by the time the RT comes but I changed my mind about posting that because I chickened out. But, I can't wait to see you do them :)

Soooosan-have you been playing tennis? I am going today after work. Hopefully, it won't rain. Next RT, we will have to play a game or two. Just don't kick my a@# too bad :7

Briee, are ya sore from GS CT?? I did that one for the first time in FOREVER the other day and the DOMS was :eek: :eek: :eek:

Today was GS BSB. This style of lifting makes me tired and hungry!! I also threw in a few chins. I did 2 pullups in one set today. That's the first time in a long time I've been able to do 2 pullups in a row!! If only I could work my lower body as hard as my upper!!

I'm laughing Catherine (kind of). Yes I wasn't going to admit that I am sore...but I AM. You know...I've done a total ot 278 pushups when I would do P90X workout sometimes and they don't seem as tough in "sets" as when Cathe does the dreaded drop sets. And I am not too proud to admit that I pushed the pause button after the set with 12 and then again before the set of 4x( x( x( x( ....MAN THESE ARE EVIL!!!! I'm thinking it's because she does them so darn slow. I go a little faster when I'm doing P90X!!! Also...I find that I need chest flies to get a major ache in my chest and back - not just pushups so yes Cathe got me good.

BUT in preparation for the ache....I did Bryan Kests PY #1 this morning and I think it really helped. Then I did KM legsculpt cardio premix with our ladies tonight and taught TaeKwonDo, the kids class. I think I'll do GS BSB tomorrow. How are you feelin???

I've been pushing extra shoulder work because mine are so whimpy, but I don't enjoy it much either!!

Sooooooooooooosan, I'm getting worried about you now? Where are you? Still praying for your mom and wondering if that's where you are at.

Unless of course you are presently in NJ holding Cathe's crew at gun point and forcing them to up your name on the list - I'd completely understand. I'd better check the news tonight.

Yes, I can see the headlines now. We'd better raise some money to bail Soooooooooooosan out!!

I have KPC on for tonight and tomorrow is the dreaded GS CT :eek: :eek: :eek: Maybe it'll be better this time around. I have to laugh Briee at you feeling bad for taking breaks in those drop sets. I take lots of breaks during those. I'm like you can do 200 something in P90X (well at least 6 months ago I could) and they didn't get me nearly as much as these. Oh and I go faster than Cathe too cause I'm always finished when she says two more:+ :+ :+

I just did GS shoulders and biceps. My chest and back are still so sore from last night (taekwondo class) that I skipped Back - I promise to do chins/pulls tomorrow okay? I added extra shoulder work - quite a bit. Hey Catherine (or anyone) have you tried the rear delt exercises that were posted in the ask Cathe forum a while back. (by Lauramax - ie rear delt definition). I'm hoping these will help develop some rear delt definition. I also did coremax #2 with stability ball (yuck x( ). Have a great day guys.

Sorry, guys - didn't mean to be AWOL for so long! My mom is recovering really well and looked better than I expected. They got as much cancer as they could surgically but needed to stop at the skull base, so they'll try to get the rest with radiation. Her spirits are up and the doctor said she might be fine for years or she might be fine forever. We understand that radiation will be no picnic but it is what it is and she's resolved to make the best of it. My dad's been a champ about caring for her. They've always had a great marriage and it's still going strong.

I got back Tuesday and have been busy trying to catch up with kids, home and work. I did manage to squeeze in BC yesterday and might be able to do 1/2 of an Imax today. Sounds like you guys have been working hard!

Briee, I've been thinking about driving up to meet you at the RT, but feel funny about honing in on something I don't have a right to be a part of. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that, at 12:05, it was already sold out! I REALLY wanted to meet you guys (and A-Jock too!) and never thought I'd have to miss out. I guess there's always next year, but if it sold out in 3 minutes this year, next year will be worse!

Soooosan-Glad to hear your Mom is doing ok. I also still can't believe how fast the RT sold out. A-jock and Jillybean were going to go but didn't make the cut. We were looking so forward to the four of us going. Hopefully, next time.

Wow, Joanne, I'm sorry A-Jock and Jilly Bean didn't make it either. I know you're disappointed. When did they try to sign up?

Sooooooooooooosan, thanks for keeping us posted regarding your mom. I was praying for her this morning. It sounds like she had favorable results from her surgery. Despite all the problems it makes me thankful to live in a country where you can get such superior medical care for something like this.

I did P90X chest and back today. I skipped some of the back work towards the end and added chest flies. Total chins/pulls 42. I tried the ladder approach when I was done Catherine. I managed to get up to 1,2,3,4 and then quit. Those are tough!! I also did uphill/downhill sprints to our cabin up in the woods (we live on a hill). I'm determined to get my tush back in order!! (did B&G yesterday).

I can't believe Jilly and AJ didn't get in either. I'm thinking that next year they will try hard to get a larger facility. I feel so bad for many people. It would still be fun to visit her gym with a couple of others on a day that she would be around and take a class with her. Not quite as exciting, but close! ;) ;)
