Hi Guys!
Sorry I've been away. I've had a lot going on these days. I'm in the middle of buying and selling a house and my Dad was taken to the hospital a few days ago with pneumonia but he's back home now. The week started out bad but now things are looking better.
I wound up getting out of bed at 4:30 this morning. Couldn't get back to sleep so I figured I'd start early and finally be able to get in an ab workout. I did Legs & Back & Abs/Core+. I had a great chinup/pullup day. I did 2 chinups, 2 wide front pullups, and 3 close grip overhand pullups and I got up to bar level on a couple more. I tried to let my HR go down a little more than usual so maybe I had more energy. My HR always goes up since I have to climb the stairs to the bedroom to get to my pullup bar. I actually worked harder with Abs/Core+ than Legs & Back. All in all, I burned 554 calories. Pretty good, I think, for strength training.
I went to my first bellydance class last night and t was great! It was an hour class. Didn't have my HR monitor so don't know how much I burned but even though it's bellydance, this is a great sculpting workout. You do all kinds of isolations - chest, hips, ribcage. I definitely felt it in my shoulders when this was done. You obviously work your abs a lot and everything else too.
I'm off next week in search of my dream home so I might not be able to check in for a few days. We found one on the internet which of course has a huge basement and I will finally have my own workout room - one of my prerequisites for my new home.
Catherine - Total Body+ sounds great. I can't wait to try it. As soon as I'm done with my regular X rotation, I'll fit it in. I've heard of Carson Kressly but haven't seen the show. It's always nice seeing a famous person up close. Years ago, when I was working at a restaurant I saw two soap opera stars from All My Children. I wanted to say something but then didn't quite know what to say and didn't want to bother them either. Good work on the chins! I have a ways to go to catch up to you. You must do the ab workout. You'll be sorry you didn't do it sooner.
Briee - Hope your DS is okay now. Thanks for doing a yoga class. I did a new one yesterday: Amba: Where Rhythm & Gravity meet. It was a 75 min. vinyasa practice which kind of reminded me a little of Shiva Rea but Shiva's much better. I still enjoyed the practice though. I had DOMS in my glutes yesterday. I agree, Cathe's cardio is much more intense but I've found lately I do better with lower impact cardio although I'll always love IMAX 3. I love the hanging moves on Abs/Core+. They're my favorite moves in the workout.
Joanne - Glad you're feeling better.
Sorry for the long post. Had lots to catch up on.
