child innocence - wish it would last forever!

ds (who is 8) was telling me that a girl in his class said a bad word yesterday in class. I asked him what letter it started with. He refused but I pushed and he finally admitted it started with a "c". OMG! I freaked out thinking, "she couldn't have said THAT, could she!?!" So I asked him what the second letter was. He didn't want to even say the letter but again I pushed promising he wouldn't get in trouble for telling me the letter. So after much hesitation, he admitted it was "cr". Whew! I just smiled thinking, "Aww.. how innocent he is!"

He's never heard a bad word out of my mouth. I hide it really well.}(

Sophie (who is 7) thinks that "bum" and "poo" are bad words. I'm happy about that. Happy that she doesn't know any of the other ones. Yet.

One day when she was about 2 1/2, she was trying to fill a little water pistol at the sink and couldn't do it. She blurted out "s**t". When I calmly asked her where she had heard that word, she said "Auntie Karen" (my sister):p I told her I didn't want to hear her say it again. So far I haven't.

Goodness, Laura... I'd freak out too, if it were my boy. So far he thinks that "stupid" is a bad word.

That c-word is extremely ugly. I read somewhere it's being put on necklaces and worn by Hollywood stars. Such bad taste.

I salute you for keeping the bad words in. It's extremely hard to do so, especially when you're very ticked off.:)
