:::CHEETAHVILLE:::Turn it up Tuesday!

gwd

Cathlete
Good morning!

Come on girls, up and at 'em ;)! Okay, I really don't like that it's now dark at 5:00 ;(. This is my favorite time to run, not that I'm doing that today. Only got a couple of minutes...

Cathy - I think that's fantastic that you've decided to become a NB mentor! It really does sound like you've found the perfect path in life for yourself. Very few people nowadays care about *anything* the way that you care about teaching...kudos! Sorry about those numb feet ...how are they this morning? Finger's are crossed that there's nothing going on there.

Gloria - Glad to hear you have your car back...hopefully that's it on the repairs now. Oh, that hike sounds lovely. You don't need to go hardcore every single day with your workouts. Maybe your body is just saying "I need a breather for a couple of days" and then it'll be ready for some more butt-kickin' workouts }(. I *love* NFNS! I never make it to 10, though :(. Who got kicked off this week?

Wendy - Uh oh, you've got that killer mish-mosh to look forward to next week lol ;)! Awesome job last night!!! To be serious, I DO find that if I've had a real arse-kicker of a workout that morning I tend to bowl well because, as I mentioned to Jackie one day, my armswing is so much more relaxed and stop trying to force everything to happen and just let physics do its job. Maybe the same is true for you? Althoug, I have learned, the hard way, NOT to do any DOMS inducing chest work or leg/glute work the day before....OUCH x(!

Gonna get this show on the road...literally. Have a fantastic day ladies!

Good Morning!

Wendi: Thanks about the workouts. You are right. :) The hike was nice. I forget what an amazing place I live in sometimes. Staying up until 10 has proved to be a challenge for me! I can't believe you like NFNS too! How cool. Kelsey got kicked off. She did a nice job, but a little too much bubbly personality I think. I like Lisa. Her food is always top notch and she has the knowledge to go all the way I think. She just needs to relax a bit in front of the camera. I hope you have a great day! :) :)

Good morning, everyone! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif

Gloria :: *sucks in breath* Yeah, that bill was a real punch to the pocketbook, huh?...JCO is my all-time favorite author! I have read Mulvaneys and I would say a good majority of her work. I even had the honor of meeting her at a local B&N a few years back. I almost *died* -- I was so starstruck. *lol*...She is just brilliant...I'll save you the lookup for italics: put this before the words you want to italicize and this after...Just remember to use the flat brackets. :)...NFNS is a good show, but I haven't watched since the season that Guy Fieri won. I don't know that I would make it to 10, either. Happy tutoring today! :)

Wendi :: I'm not one for running in the dark, either...I've turned ankles a few times doing that and once stepped right on some nasty roadkill. (Squirrel.) SQUISH!!! But it's mostly a concern about safety...Thank you, but I know there are many people in the schools like Gloria, Lorie, and myself who pour our hearts into it. It's just that kind of job. And when you find your passion, it doesn't feel like work...My feet were tingly for a bit after, but they're OK. That happens to me sometimes but not usually on the EXT or in both feet. This marathon is probably going to have me completely fall apart! *lol* j/k I'll be fine. :) This is your day to be the Bionic Woman and do it all, right? That usually makes a day go fast.

This afternoon/evening will be CST (not sure which DVDs I'll use to create a mishmosh) and a run.

Have a wonderful day! :)

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Cathy: Thank you for the code again! :) How is curriculum work going? I watched the season with Guy too. JCO is very talented. What was it like to meet her? I saw a quote from her about running. It touched my heart. :) Have a great day!!!!

General Motors is laying off thousands of salaried workers. Geez oh peets, when is this going to stop. Detroit is the most disgusting place I have ever been. I don't know what these people are going to do. :-( I guess we are going to go green. I hope it turns around soon. I will work out after tutoring today. Sorry for the depressing post, but it just bothers me.

Good morning cheetahs! I have to work one night tonight... I'm still in Jersey and since it is only for one night I'll be commuting from here, sort of. I'll leave in a few hours and spend the afternoon in my apartment napping, then come straight back to Jersey from work. Pretty much finished up the last of the paperwork for the purchase of our house. Got some good insurance coverage at a great price. I'll be spending half of what I did in Az. I'm hoping car insurance will end up being just as cheap also. I'll be heading out soon for a good brisk (I hope) 4 mile run and later at the apartment it'll be some kind of circuit... not sure what yet.

Lorie- Great pic... that is some restaurant! Drooling with jealousy here.

Wendi- Okay, you must have been beyond exhausted to fall asleep on a concrete floor!! I guess it helped to recharge you cuz you sure had a productive day yesterday!

Cathy- I didn't realize you were fundraising for a charity to run in the marathon... do you have a link to your site where I can donate? I can't stay on an EXT much more then 45 minutes tops cuz of the feet numbing issue. I guess it's a common problem.

Christine- AKA the BEAST... Love that name!! I can believe it tho... picturing our cheetahs with legs of steel powering past folks going uphill!! I'm sure you'd rather be back peddling up a hill then enduring your sales bootcamp today.... hope it goes fast for you!

Carole- I hope the shorter run went well for you yesterday. I've been trying to get at least 4 run days a week in myself lately. Any Back or Bicep DOMS?

Dallas- Wow, a 10 miler in heavy rain??? I'd say that makes you a certified hard core runner! I'd say you are set to put in a solid performance for your August race.

Jackie- Congrats on going heavier then Cathe on the S&H! Very impressive. I rarely have the patience for this one and frequently (gulps while admitting) fast forward thru the break sections.

Wendy- Good luck today shopping for your DH's gift. Hard to find? Must be something! Congratulations on a great bowling nite!

Judy- Welcome back!! Sounds like you had a busy but fun time in Boston. Still going strong with NROL I see. So what is the decision... are you going to skip thru the rest of the heavy weight sections?

Gloria- Sounded like a good day for you yesterday. Got your car back (yay) and had a nice quality time hike with DH! Better time spent then any workout IMHO.

That's it for now. Wishing all the cheetahs a great day!

Shelly

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Cathy – you’re too funny! I love climbing hills on my bike – it comes from my mountain biking days. Glad you have things in place! Let me know where to donate! I got your back girlfriend! You’ll do well, though. You’d be surprised at how easy it is to raise funds for LiveStrong. Oh wow, busy week for you, eh?

Carole – Glad you enjoyed the email. I had fun writing it. I’m excited that you can increase your running again! Have fun!

Dallas – I can imagine that you’re tired. What you’re going through must be very stressful. Enjoy your run and weights. Sounds like you need it. {{{HUGS}}} We’ll do the 10.6 miler of the Big Sur Marathon in April. We register as soon as they open registration as it fills up quickly, but as past participants, we get notifications. BEAUTIFUL run!

Jackie – thanks!! I love S&H! Enjoy your week!

Wendy – How was bowling? Did you manage it? Sales Bootcamp – I explained it below. It’s basically 4 days of being drilled on sales skills. Most companies have something similar, but this one is the absolute worst. Ick. Great workout yesterday!!

Judy – Thanks! Yes, the race report was posted yesterday and is actually on the OD as well. How is Boston? Are you enjoying it? I love that city!

Wendi – Oh I’ll bet you feel great today!! I love getting so much done! I’m laughing at my loving BC – I would sooo much rather do Cathe’s BC twice a day for 4 days than to sit through this torture. I don’t really understand the concept of keeping sales people from selling for 4 days… Hope things calm down for you soon!

Gloria – Glad to hear your car is fixed but OUCH!! A 5 mile hike is a good workout, don’t worry. So what’s on the agenda for today? :p Yes, I LOVE Marley and Me. I made DD15 read it, and she loves it. Great book.

Shelly – Oh I’m glad you get to go back to Jersey and spend time with DH. And happy you got that dreaded paperwork out of the way! Hope the house is AZ sells quickly!! YES! I would rather back pedal up 20 hills than this, but I’ll survive – we Cheetahs are tough! :p

Ugh! I’m putting together a presentation on “Managing Customer Expectations”. I have a half an hour to present this topic. I was supposed to share the spotlight with another sales rep, but it appears that he will not be there. So, at the last minute, I’m stuck doing this on my own. Oh well. So I’m up with the birds to do it. I have the presentation done, but I have to practice, practice, practice! :p BootCamp is basically 4 days where we have to sell our product to each other and management. We spend the mornings listening to boring speeches, like the one I’m going to give today :+, then the afternoon being drilled on silly stuff. Friday morning we get to sell to management. Not fun, believe me. But fortunately, it’s only twice a year, and hopefully the new VP will help change it a bit. I do plan to work out. I have HSTA on my agenda for the day. Not sure if I’ll BOSU or just high step it. We’ll see – probably high step as the leg presses are harder that way. }( Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Wendi..sounds like a good accomplishing day yesterday! Thanks, I am enjoying the DOMS as I sit here! I have run in the dark a few times, not by myself though.

Cathy...weird about your feet going numb with the EXT last night. Enjoy CST and a run today. Thanks again for the Accelerade. My DH saw the package and said "What did you buy now?"...LOL!

Gloria...glad you got the car back, sorry about the cost! Sounds like a nice hike with DH.

Shelly...good job getting the paper work for the house done. The run was good yesterday. WOW, I felt the DOMS in my upper back last night. I do have some in my biceps too but most is in my back...:D

Christine..sounds like an interesting presentation for work. Sorry the other rep was not there for you. I bet your speech will be great. Have fun with HSTA, I have not done that one in a long time!

Judy..I hope the 4 days of running goes well too. So had Nrolfw been heavy weights all this time? Sounds like a busy weekend in Boston.

Today is legwork and Core Syn. I will have to get in some cardio too! Probably the EXT.

Have a great day...:)

WOW! We get the President and the Governator visiting here Thursday to check out the wildfire damage...:)..too bad I have to work!

Wow Carole - that's too cool! Both Arnie and GW! Yeah, too bad you have to work. Enjoy the EXT, CS and legwork. OUCH!

I finished HSTA - I don't know why it has such a dread factor for me because every time I do it, I enjoy it so much! And, I got a voicemail from the other presenter - he WILL be there, so I don't have to do it solo, even though I'm prepared to now. YEAH!!!! Well, must be off. Have a fab day. I doubt I'll be back. *sighs* :p

Good morning Cheetahs!

Went back and skimmed posts to make sure I didn't miss answering a question.

Dallas - Good to see you posting! Thanks for the compliments on the house. I didn't do the stenciling. I ordered from this website: www.uppercaseliving.com. They have lots of nice quotes and different things for the house.

Cathy - Congrats on running that 13 miles! You go girl! I haven't experienced that foot numbing with the EXT yet but I have with running outside.

Wendy - So agree with you that Mondays should be illegal. :) I have a question for you. Since you are a BB coach, how do people get a discount off the workouts by going through a coach? The question was posed to me and told the person I would ask my coach. Congratulations on the bowling score! You're getting there girl!

Judy - You did a great job sticking with NROL4W! Are your results just as good? You got a lot in during your trip.

Wendi - Good for you getting so much accomplished yesterday. Mondays are the worse day of the week at work. If we go to 5 day delivery, think it will be even worse even though I don't have to hit the streets. It all seems to have a trickle down effect. Hope your week at work isn't too bad. No running in the dark here either. Too much of a wimp.

Gloria - Glad you finally got your car back. UGH on the $$$!! We have to get around though. That's good that you and DH enjoy the same tv shows and can get that quality time in. DBF is quite the opposite of me. I like HGTV and Food Network and things of that sort. I've been watching Design Star. He's more into the history and military channel. But, I still sit there with him sometimes and read.

Shelly - When is the move in date for the new house? I know you said you had your apt. until Sept. Glad you got some good insurance. I was surprised at how cheap my insurance was for the new house. It was cheaper than the old house. Enjoy your run! Bet you're looking forward to getting your gym set up at the new place. I'm with you, I didn't know Cathy was working with a charity either. So, yes please post your link. It does take patience to get through S&H but I like it because I can usually go heavier. And, I always get some pretty good results.

Christine - Good luck with your presentation! I hate doing those! I hate doing training too. My voice can't seem to take it. The Boot Camp of sales sounds like a good way to sharpen your marketing skills. Glad you enjoyed your workout!

Carole - Enjoy your leg work & CS. Heard them mention the number of acres that the fires had destroyed in CA. It was astronomical. I really feel for everyone there.

This morning's workout was the last 30 minutes of iTread #4 60 minutes. Got this idea from Wendy. It starts with 4 big sprints. Then she throws a hill in there but I added another sprint instead. It ends with 2 intervals, a cool down and some stretching. I did 20 minutes on the EXT and a 20 minute yoga.

Hope you're enjoying your day so far!

Jackie

Hi Girls.

Tired, cranky cheetah reporting in.

I had an awful day at work. On the schedule for 9. Got called in for 8 and then was only one there for the entire 4 hours! My supervisor was in and out to help but couldn't stay the whole time and it was crazy in there. Tonight I have to go down to the boardwalk with Joey, my mom, my sis and her 4 girls. I am feelin' really raunchy right now...I hope I have a better outlook after a quick nap and work out otherwise tonight is gonna suck! :-( x(

Sorry to be a downer. I'm officially done complaining.

My plan is to give Kettlebell Your Way a shot today with my 20# bell. Should be FUN! }(

No time for personals but you know I'll catch up as soon as I can...if not before I head out tonight then after I get back!

Hasta Levista babies!;)

YAY! I'm a happier cheetah now. I HEART exercise. It works wonders for one's attitude!;)

That 20# bell gave new meaning to The Kettlebell Your Way workout! LOL I skipped the breaks last time when I used the 15# to make it harder. This time I couldn't wait for the breaks so I could catch my breath and rest a little bit!

}( A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!}(

Off to shower and clean up around here now. I'll pop back in to do some personals before heading out if I have time...

Toodles peeps!:*

Quick check in - thank heavens for wireless in hotel rooms and breaks! Presentation went very well! We made them laugh, we made them, well, laugh again. It was a good time. I can relax until Thursday when I have to do 2 5 minute ones, but I'm not really worried about those. :p

Jackie - Yeah, training sucks, too. It is so tough to sit still for that long. I get teased about it. Another great workout for you!! Great job!

Wendy - glad to see that your workout cheered you up. I'd have been a bit ticked as well. Nothing like being totally frazzled for 4 hours. Ick. I love AOS Providence with a 20 and sometimes 26 pd bell. I cannot wait to get fully back into heavier bells. Back is feeling better, so hopefully soon.

Christine...Yep we get both GW and Arnie! I would like to at least SEE them. Glad you enjoyed HSTA. Good your other guy showed up! Sounds like you did a great job on the presentation...:)

Jackie...Yes the fires here have burned so much of Northern Calif. It is just so sad. Great cardio mish mosh and yoga.

Wendy...wow, you have had some bad days...:(..glad the workout improved your mood.

Got back out in the yard and cut back one of my plants a lot. It was taking over. Glad to see less debris! Did the right amount of weight today for pyramid squats (no 100#'s)...:D...I will be doing CS in a little while.

Not very busy in the den today I see...

Um, I think I am already feeling the DOMS beginning to creep in. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing! What do you ladies think!? :7

I actually got my stuff done in a timely fashion so I have a bit o' time to catch up on personals. :)

Wendi: Funny you should talk about being a little tired helping you to bowl because you stop trying to FORCE it. My DH yells at me all of the time that bowling is not about muscle. It's about letting the ball do what it's made to do. I often times find myself trying to use my Cathe-made muscle to make the ball do what I want. LOL Last night I even told him I was a little tired and maybe that was a GOOD thing!;-)

Cathy: So when did you decide to become an NB mentor? What prompted the decision? Sorry about your tingly feet. I get that from the EXT at times as well.

Gloria: GM is laying off that many huh? ACK. That will thrill my DH when he hears it (j/k)...if he hasn't already. He despises the fact that so many folks are getting laid off and that so many companies are moving out of the country. He hate George W. Bush and blames him for it. He's a union guy if you haven't figured that one out yet. ;)

Shelly: Thanks re bowling. It was a stellar night for me. I stink usually! LOL Glad you were able to find insurance on the cheap. That's unheard of here in NJ for the most part. ;)

Christine: ICK is right. Sales Bootcamp sounds like no fun at all! Sorry you have to endure that. :-( Glad the back is on the mend. Would love to have you full-force into the bells while I'm still using them! I love HSTA but it is sooooo tough! YEOWCH! Frazzled is a good word for what I was this morning. I don't deal well with mass hysteria and that's what it was at times... x(

Carole: Legwork AND coresyn!? YIKES! That sounds painful! LOL

Jackie: Folks don't get a discount on BB products because they have a coach. They get better customer service and most of the time I think the shipping is cheaper and you have more options. I believe you get a discount on the product if you are a member of the MDB club which you have to pay for or if you are a coach yourself.

Well, that catches me up! YAY! :)

May be back later anyway but if not, have a great night everyone and I'll see y'all when the sun comes up!:+

Afternoon, cheetahs! :7

Gloria :: How was your day today?...The curriculum work is going well...I *love* working with my grade-level department colleagues. They are just phenomenal, fun women who share material freely, and I learn so much from them. We are lucky to be a tight-knit group. Our big challenge in terms of the work is that we only have 53 minute periods to teach reading *and* writing, and as a result, we have to be very selective about our units. It's not easy. And our curriculum supervisor wants hard copies of all of our materials by tomorrow (!), so that's a tall order, too. But the GREAT news :) is I found the pieces that were missing from my Socratic file. :) :) :)...JCO was one of those quirky writer types--the kind who poses for a picture but doesn't smile. But she's sooo intelligent and talented as you said...I really enjoyed hearing her speak about her craft...I hate hearing about more layoffs. That sucks.

Shelly :: glad you got a good rate on the insurance. I know my DSis said her car insurance is much better living in PA than it was in Jersey. I don't know how good it was in AZ, but she's saving A LOT now...That is a curious thing about the numbing...I'd inquired about fundraising a couple of months ago but had not not heard from the marathon coordinator until I followed up again yesterday. Now I do have a site, which I'll include in my signature the way Christine did. $0 funds raised so far. *lol* Hope it's an easy-breezy night tonight for you.

Christine :: thank you ~ I appreciate that. Having to endure that twice a year seems excessive. I'm all for keeping skills fresh, but this doesn't sound like the way. Still, I bet your presentation is anything BUT boring. Can you bring Jimmy in and let him do the charming?

Carole :: yeah, I guess it was a fluke thing with the feets. It does happen to me sometimes when I run but only in the one foot.
:7 about DH's reaction to the package. CoreSyn, legwork, and cardio sounds like quite a punishin'!

Jackie :: Do you get the numbing in both feet? Any pattern to it? Wow, USPS is thinking of scaling back to five??...Thank you--I inquired a few months ago but did not get the ball rolling until now. Seems there were some personnel changes at LAF...WTG on another butt-kicker of a workout.

Wendy :: glad a good workout helped you snap out of it. I'll bet it is not easy dealing with a room full of wee ones without any reinforcements. I was encouraged to become a mentor by my mentors. :) It's not a big deal and not something I'll use for awhile yet, but it's a way to stay involved.

Off to go figure out my mish-mosh...BBL!

Running the '08 Chicago Marathon for Livestrong ~
http://www.livestrong.org/grassroots2008/cathfieb

Shelly: Great getting insurance at such a good price! Our insurance is rolled into our house payment, which is pretty reasonable for us. You are so right about the workout Shelly, thanks! :) Hope your workouts were fabulous as usual. :)

Christine: Marley and Me is one of my favorite books. I did get a coteacher who is also a friend to read it too. She doesn't have a dog, but loves her cat dearly. I am so happy to hear your presentation is over. Those can be stressful, for sure! Hope HSC got you good! Ellie is napping right now and barking in her sleep. Too cute when she does that!

Carole: I had some running partners and we ran in the dark in town because there were lights. It was a peaceful time so early in the morning. Glad to hear the running is going well for you.
:) The cost on the car is what it is. Oh well. At least now I know I can't spend money on things I really don't need anyway.

Jackie: DH likes the history channel a lot too. He watches that mostly in the winter. I have never seen Design Star, but it doesn't surprise me that you like it based on the pictures I have seen of your very beautiful home. :) The money on the car stinks, but you are right, gotta have wheels. Sounds like a nice workout today.

Wendy: It sounds like you are loving the KB workouts. Good for you! Sorry your day at work stunk. That would be a lot to deal with. Working out really does lift your mood. Our state is in such a bad place that it is depressing. Not that others in the country aren't feeling it, but geez. I am a union worker too, and luckily it is a VERY strong one. I understand where your DH is coming from. I do not know many people who actually like George Bush. He just doesn't seem very smart to me. I will stop there. If I have offended anyone I am sorry and will try to zip my lips from here on out. I just couldn't help it. :):)

I am pleased to report I did HSC today. I really like the leg presses with the band. Something different. We are having some storms. I hope we don't lose power. That is always a bummer. Tutoring went well. Not much else going on with me. Have a great evening all!

:)

Looks like I screwed up the italics thing. Will work on that next time and bookmark Cathy's instructions for future reference. :) :)

Christine: I meant HSTA. :) I am sure you were not upset by my oops though!

Cathy: That is great you love your grade level team. Mine is a good one too. We stand by each other and are willing to help in any way we can. Even in personal situations. My specific coteacher last year knew my DH was working in Montana and said if I ever need anything to call and if it was manual labor she would send her boys over in a heart beat. We are a lot different, but I love her. She is the best teacher I have ever worked with and I have seen the data from her class to prove it. It is exhausting. We are all about data, data, data. But I think we are doing what is best for kids. Although our community is mostly transients and poverty level kids, my superintendent believes that there is no reason we can't be the best school. I like him, and I do think we are good. Teaching writing and reading in 53 minutes is near impossible. Our writing scores were not that great a few years ago, so my principal instituted the Lucy Calkins program and we are VERY regimented at what we can teach when. We all had to teach writing for one hour at the same time, reading, grammar, etc. at the same time for an hour. We teach math for an hour and fifteen minutes in the morning and social studies and science get fourty five minutes a piece. There is no flexibility at all. IA writer's are quirky sorts. I have been to many GA partys with DH. All the professors would be there. They are different, for sure. That is cool you got to meet JCO. I am sad about the layoffs too. It is sad to look around the community. My day went well, thanks. I have written a novel here. Hope your workout is a good one!!!! :) :) :) :)

HAPPY RUN OUTSIDE DAY!!

LOL – oh YES! Today was the first day we were able to run outside in 3 weeks!!! We did 5 hilly miles and I even did better than I thought I would! Probably because I had the fabulous Cheetahs cheering me on in my head! - Not kidding! Amazing what a good solid, sweaty, hilly run outside can do to the attitude…I’ve had a major adjustment! Can you tell? LOL

Ok, real quick cuz I only have a few minutes…..

Wendi – Sorry about the 5 am darkness! My DH hates when it gets dark at 5 PM…lol. Hope you’re not working too hard today!

Gloria – Hiya! Hope you keep power! We’ll take some of your rain though! Sorry about your car. I too hate to hear about he layoffs! This country is really in some deep doo-doo right now…

Cathy – Awesome getting that 13 miles in there! Woo Hoo! Um, I get the foot numbing thing too. I actually got it today at about 4 miles…in one foot, usually happens in higher miles and only intermittent … and seems to be more so newer the shoes… anyhoo, thought it was just me!

Shelly – SO happy the house deal is moving along nicely for ya’ll! Can’t wait til you get to move in! Right on about the insurance rates too!

Mizz Christine – YEAH! High Fives on your most awesome run! I was soo busy this weekend but I did pop in to see quickly how you did! Me and Violet (the golden girl) were saluting and cheering you!

Carole – Woah, I’ve been too busy to look at the news – didn’t know we were getting that visit… well, I’m glad the smoke is clearing (probably from the delta breezes though) but I sure hope the containment levels keep going up so our firefighting personnel can get some rest soon…

Jackie – Please forgive me I have yet to get over to view your house pics…I will though soon! LOl What? Mondays illegal? CHYEEAHUH? I’ll vote for that! I don’t like em’ either and funny enough, I was born on a Monday…!?!!?

Wendy – glad your workout turned your frown upside down! Mine did too! Hope you are enjoying the evening at the Boardwalk!

Hello to Judy and Dallas!!

OK - gotta get back to work! I really, really, really will try to get back tonight – Ive been busy with lots of stuff ….DS 16 is leaving for San Diego with the Football team for 6 days so that should give me a bit of a reprieve… maybe? LOL Who am I kidding? I have another birthday bash at my house Saturday…this time it is DD turning 18!

Bye for now gals!
