Cathlete
Good morning loverlies!

I have to be out the door in the next 15 min but I'm a touch ahead of schedule and figured I'd get us started. I actually have a leetle bit o' energy this morning so I'm thinking, *IF* all goes well and *IF* I get home early enought I may try to squeak a workout in this afternoon :D. It'll probably be a circuit of some sort of steady state step, I'll have to see how my energy level is by then lol!

Cathy - Sorry your chiro appt. is going to mess with your long run. Maybe you're better off doing it Sunday...it's kind of masty here already and it's only 4am x(. LOL about the skeeters...one got me good the other day and I look like I have two huge mountains on my arse :+ x(. We have lotsa fun buggers...green heads (ouch!), vader bugs (ouch!), black face flies, gnats (mmmm, tasty when inhaled :9), and the mother of them all...the bombers  x(. You can't even kill these puppies with your hand they are soooo big (silver dollar sized). You've got to stun them so they fall to the ground and *then* you can squash em with your foot...no other way to kill em. Believe me when I say that NO repellent (horse or human) on the market works on any of them for more than 5 minutes. Fun, eh :p?

Okay, so now that I've totally grossed you all out I shall be on my way. Talk to ya later. Have a great day!

Hiya!

On my way to get some sleep (it's about 1:30 a.m PST) before I have to get up and get the dogs to the groomer and figure out what my workout will be. I'm so sick of the smoke! I feel really bad for the animals and ppl that are directly affected by the fires too. I wish we could have a freak rain storm with a massive downpour! I have not been able to run outside since the fires started, 3 weeks ago?, so I'm really not getting in very good runs for my training and my weight workouts have suffered as well. Sooooooooo, starting tomorrow this Cheetah is pulling in the reins and conferencing with my selves to come up with a plan to get the hardcore workouts kick started again and plan around the smoke air that evidently is forcasted to be around for some time. I'm really beginning to get depressed about the situation of the fires, the condition of my eyes, lungs, throat and my lousy workouts... whew, anyway, sorry for the long whiney moment...probably cuz i am soo terribly tired from the long week and tonight we celebrated DD's boyfriend's birthday so I'm even more tired ... Ok, this is really a one-sided post but i'll probably get back on here to catch up and post personals tomorrow (today) evening. But I just gotta say SHELLY, your new house looks absolutely POSH and and divine! Congratulations! and Lorie, have a FaBULOUS time in Aruba! I'll get some personals out to everyone else tomorrow...

happy Saturday ya'll!

Morning (barely!), cheetahs!! http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/hello.gif

I forgot to unset my alarm, so here I am a little earlier than necessary.

Wendi :: This one's for you:
http://auctionboutique.com/usersdirs/11317/Animated Smiles/flyswat.gif
:7 Hope you have a good one!...Oh, no need to be sorry about the chiro appt. I always look forward to the adjustments, and it's no big deal at all to return to the original plan. :)

Posh :: Can totally understand why you are frustrated and miserable as a result of the ongoing fire & smoke situation and what it is doing to your runs and your quality of life...Lotsa (((HUGS))). I hope you can figure out a Plan B that works for you until the air quality is better.

To our cheetahs racing this weekend...

Looking forward to your race reports.

I may take a rest day today, or if anything, I'll hop on the elliptical for a bit. I have a little tightness in the left calf again. Keep getting knots in the soleus area, so I'll be working on that with the roller.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday! :)

Good Morning Girls. :)

I have to go back and catch up on personals from y'day since I didn't get back here but first...

Wendi: Hope you have a non-hectic day at work that leaves you with TONS of energy for an evening work out later!!!! And since I remembered the question you asked y'day w/o having to go back and re-read it...Joey is totally off the seisure meds. He's been off since the spring and is FINE! We never believed there was anything wrong with him. His body simply reacted to that horrific stomach virus he had. It was taking down healthy adults so you can only imagine what it was doing to an 18 month old! I understand there is protocol though and the doc did what he had to do. Better safe then sorry I suppose! It's all good. :)

Cathy: Love the good luck race vibe. Unforunately it will not be needed for me this morning. I've decided not to run this morning's race. I was in a funk y'day afternoon/evening that just totally KILLED my desire to do the race this morning. I set my alarm just incase but when the time came I was no more enthused so I turned it off, rolled over and went back to sleep. Oh well. I donated to some good cause and there will be other races, right? :) Glad you atleast enjoy your chiro appointments. Makes having to nix today's long run plan easier.

So as I was telling Cathy above, I had a 5 mile race on the agenda this morning but I'm bagging it. Just not enthused about it at all. In addition, I missed my kb work out y'day and was not happy about it at all so all I really want to do is make it up. I'd rather do that then the race. If I thought I'd have the energy to do both, I would, I know that wouldn't happen. I could have used some of Cathy's zen attitude y'day and perhaps it wouldn't bother me so much but oh well. I can accept the fact that I am totally ZEN-less! :p

Yesterday Joey and I started out at the park in the morning, then went to B&N to see Thomas the Train. We ended up staying there for "story time". After that we came home to have lunch. I let him pick out something to buy at B&N so we had to play with it right away! LOL After that we went food shopping, came home, unpacked and off we went to the local water park with DH. Joey LOVED it! He had a blast. I was not thrilled with DH as he pushed this idea down my throat kind of last minute which left me no time to work out AND left me rushing around to get ready to go and that didn't sit well with me at all! x( When we got home I was tired but after making sure everyone ate dinner, I got changed and was STILL going to squeeze a work out in. I was not going to do the originally planned vid as it's brand new and I didn't have the energy to try something new. I pulled out Iron Core Way vol 2 and no sooner did the warm up start then the phone rang!!! Did DH answer it? No, ofcourse not and I saw that it was my mom. She was calling for a purpose so I felt back ignoring the phone. Atleast if DH had picked it up he could have told her I would call her back in half an hour. So anyway, I love her but she doesn't know when to hang up the phone. In addition I got off the phone to a screaming child who was over-tired cause DH decided he didn't need a nap so that we could go to the water park a little earlier. x( By the time I dealt with that (putting DS to bed, basically), it was 8pm and I was in NO MOOD to exercise. OMG, I was soooo mad last night!x(

Sorry for the vent...I'm done now!:p

BB for personals in a jiff!

Christine: Good luck girl! I know you'll do AWESOME! Can't wait to hear about it!!!!!!:+

Thomasina: (((HUGS))) to you girl. I feel so bad. What a horrible thing to have to deal with. Those fires are awful. I hope you find a way to improve your work outs despite the situation.

Cathy: I actually use my lifting gloves for the bells. I've done work outs with out them and it hurts my hands. I get blisters too. At first the gloves were awkward but I'm pretty much used to them now.

Carole: DH and I saw Mamma Mia. It was our first broadway show. I loved it!

Shelly: I don't blame you for having a hard time focusing on work. When we were purchasing our home I was consumed with it. The process did NOT go smoothly for us though so I was always aggravated. I was even crying on the phone to DH one day from my desk. x( I know your experience will be great though. You seem to be dealing with a great seller and that is half the battle. Our seller was AWFUL!

Jackie: Glad you are liking Shred. Seeing DBF this weekend?

Gloria: Awwww, that stinks about your car and the race.:-( Go for a nice long run in lieu of it today.

Okay, looks like I'm all caught up...BBL~

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I bet Mamma Mia will be great, especially with Meryl! KLG probably has no facial expressions due to surgeries or too much botox!! Yes, we have always had chickens. probably not something I talk about all the time...:)...and a mean turkey which I really do NOT like. Like I told Jackie, I did not know about the skunks killing chickens til I saw it. Good mish mosh again with MM/ME. Looks like we will both be running long sunday.

Wendi...you do learn a lot about different predators when you live in the country and have chickens! I actually enjoy Anat and Phsy but I don't remember much. I am sure trying to get my legs stronger...:)...LOL, I have inhaled a few gnats on runs before! But WTH are "bombers"???

Posh..I am sharing your sickness of the smoke! it really is depressing and I am sorry about how it is affecting you physically. Sending smokeless {{{HUGS}}}

Wendy...sorry you are missing the race too. Sounds like a really bad day yesterday...:(

Gloria....sorry you had to bag the race...:(

Shelly...the air quality goes good and bad. The fires have kicked up somewhat due to the windy, hot weather so that just keeps the air quality bad..NO! I did a super set with legs which is a series of squats, exts, curls and calf raises. I do 12 reps of each exercise right after each other, then recover for 90 secs and do it again for 4 sets of 12 reps. But I only used 80 for squats! Next week I will go to 85, as the 100 was a goof on my part but I will get back there.

Christine..the fire I was talking about seeing was the Motion fire, which continually flares up. Nice to know the fire total is down to 320. I hope DD15 has a great time. Good job with PUB only. Good luck on the bike ride!!!

Jackie...I didn't know that about skunks either, til I saw it happen. I did know about the eggs but not the attacking the actual chickens. The temps did drop a bit, but the fires have gotten worse so the smoke is worse. Sounds like a good Shred workout yesterday.

Today is Kenpo+ and the other half of Abs/core+.

Have a great day...:)

Carole: Awww I'm sorry that a skunk was killing your chickens. :-( Nasty ol' skunk!x( And a mean turkey? LOL, just sounds funny. Reminds me of the scene in the movie Homeward Bound where Chance (a dog) gets into the chicken coop and ends up getting chased by something he refers to as "Birdzilla" (a turkey). :7

Lorie: Enjoy your vacation with Dean! I hope you can post some pics!!!

Wendi: Kick some butt in those classes and you will make it! :) It is just not possible to ask anyone to drive me to the race. I would have needed to leave at 5:30 in the morning because the race started at 7:30. I could never ask anyone to take me that early on a Saturday. Oh well. It's not the end of the world. It is relieving to know what is wrong with my car. The deer flies are the most fierce around here. The mosquitos are nasty too!

Cathy: I am with you on the newspapers messing up grammar/format rules. Signs for businesses do it all the time too. Thanks for thinking of me yesterday. :) Keep rolling out that calf. Might be wise to rest today. Do what you think is right. :)

Carole: I have never seen a skunk near our property, thank goodness! They are nasty creatures. We do have a lot of porcupines though because they do not have many predators.

Shelly: I do think Ellie gets bored sometimes with no one really to play with. I will sometimes chase her around the yard. She loves that and I don't care about looking stupid. There are not a lot of people around my house. :) IA about the human children. I will stick with dogs. :) I bet you are constantly thinking about the new home. You will be in there in no time!

Christine: My eating yesterday was not as good as it has been. I ate at Taco Bell for the first time in years. The only thing I had was a bean burrito. It was small and all it had on it was beans, a little cheese and onion. I also had a handful of tortilla chips. Could of been worse I guess. I will be thinking of you racing tomorrow! :) YOU WILL BE FANTASTIC!!! :)

Posh: I can see your frustration. I have no doubt you will get back to your routine. After all, you are a CHEETAH! :) :)

Wendy: I have one friend in particular who is hard to get off the phone. It is hard for me to cut people off. Sorry your day was so crummy yesterday. If you were not up to racing today then it was a good choice to cancel. Enjoy the KB workout today!

Whew, I think that catches me up. I missed not being on here yesterday! I will miss you ladies when the new forum is being constructed. Yesterday wasn't that bad. The flyshop is a happy, positive place. It stinks missing the race, but I had no choice in the matter. Like I told Wendi, I do not feel comfortable asking someone to drive me over there that early in the morning. On a positive note, I am saving gas money, right?? Today will be a long run of some sort after I digest my breakfast. Hope all are doing well!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Wendi – Hope your energy stays with you and that it’s not too hot out there for you! I remember my horse riding days and those HUGE flies – I used to call them the B52’s (same idea). This was back in the days of leg warmers and big scrunchy socks, and one of those suckers bit me through BOTH! Always fun to try to handle a high strung horse who was just bitten by one of those guys! Ick – don’t envy you!

Thomasina – There’s “Monsoonal Moisture” in the forecast, but I doubt we’ll get anything. It’s actually overcast here. I hope you do get a freak huge downpour out of it! The smoky skies are getting to me, too, and we don’t have it as bad as you do!!

Cathy – LOVE the little cyclist smiley! Enjoy your rest day and I’ll be thinking of you running while I’m riding!!! Yeah, Paradise sounds rather badly named at this point. I’ll bet it’s gorgeous normally though. That area is just beautiful! Nope, not feeling the rest day yesterday. Feeling a little bit of DOMS, but I was careful as I didn’t want to feel sore and icky for the ride. Definitely a rest day today, though.

Wendy – Sorry you don’t feel like racing, but I understand! I’m on the zen-less side as well – we’ll be emotional together. :p I was mad at DH last too. He made a comment to DD19 that was totally uncalled for and put me and a friend of mine in a bad position, when there was no reason for it. He was trying to make DD19 feel better, but it was really a put down. I hate when he says things like that.

Carole – Oh, the Motion fire isn’t on the Bay Area news, yet. The Concow/Paradise Fire and the Big Sur ones are the ones we hear about all the time. As I told Thomasina we have some “Monsoonal Moisture” (whatever that means) today. And chanced of thunderstorms. We also have high humidity. X( Oh well – hopefully tomorrow will be better – that’s the ride. Sorry to hear about chicken killing skunk. And the mean turkey! My cousin had a turkey he used to walk up and down the road on a leash. He won it during a contest at school (could you imagine your kid coming home with a LIVE turkey?). Wasn’t too happy when the turkey was served for Thanksgiving Dinner. But my aunt was pragmatic about it. They used to raise calves into steers, so the kids were used to it.

Gloria – sorry to hear about the car problems and that you couldn’t do you can’t race today! I know you were looking forward to it! Too funny about Ellie – I chase Jimmy around the front yard, too – to get his energy out. Your “cheat” was good! It’s all about making wise choices when confronted with options. You did good. Thanks for the kudos!

Well today is obviously a rest day before my ride. I have to drive into San Jose to get my race packet, but that’s not too bad. Won’t take long. DD15 is off. The house is already too quiet. X( But she’ll have fun. I’ll be getting my nails done and going grocery shopping today. Have a great day everyone!

Christine ~ Good luck!!!! You'll do great!! Can't wait to hear all about it. :)

I'm sorry ladies I'm sooooo out of the loop. I'm hoping tomorrow that I'll have a little time to catch up with personals. We got more news, but I don't feel comfortable writing it on here. I'll try to get to the other site soon.

I'm happy to report that we did our 10 miler today. I did it in 1 hour and 38 minutes. There were some (ok...a lot...ha ha) of hills. One called "Big Bertha". We started out in the pouring rain. Before we got started the coach said, "If it starts lightning - turn around and make it your PR!" LOL I have to say - I felt pretty darn good during the run, despite all that is going on here. I wish mentally & time wise I continue to train for the full.

I missed you gals! Can't wait to chat with you tomorrow!

Have a great day! I have to go do a better stretch & shower, and then I'll head over to the in laws house with the kids.

Dallas - so wonderful to hear from you! I've been thinking of you, especially with the ride tomorrow! I'll be thinking of those you love affected by Cancer. Good job on the 10 miler! Good time!

Oh, I found out that I will NOT have to go to Chicago early, so I'll be flying in on Saturday as originally planned and Carole, I'll head into town with you!

Hi Girls.

Fly by post to say that I just tried The Extreme Kettlebell Cardio Workout by Keith Weber for the first time this morning. I did 5 out of it's 7 segments and I am beat! Money very well spent. SENSATIONAL work out!

Off to do lunch now. BBIAB!:+

Hello to all the fabulous cheetahs! No time for personals today :-(
But I wanted to shout out to Christine

The Cheetahs are with you!!! GOGOGOGOGOGO :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
You are riding for a wonderful cause... nothing better for inspiration. And speaking of inspiration... that is what you are to all of us!

Heading out soon for the Jersey shore to spend some quality time with DH on my 3 night stretch off. I'll also be getting together paperwork, etc. Should be finishing it up by Monday.
Got in a great workout with GS CT and BSB (timesavers) yesterday and did GSL when I got home today. I've done KCMs Cardio step boxing
(really love that one) and may do a short run this evening.

hey cheetahs--

fyi-- my internet is down and the dsl crew is coming out sometime tomorrow, so dont be alarmed if you dont hear from me. i'm checkin in now from my geek phone. :)

wendy...sorry about the rough day yesterday. sometimes one thing on top of another makes it hard to take it all in stride. thats where your ol friend liquor comes in. ha ha j/k...now forgive me if i'm crossing any bounds here, but without trying to foist my own way of thinking upon you, i think sometimes life calls for exactly that kind of spontaneity where you can say (ala miles in risky business) :) oh, wtf...i'm just gonna roll with this.. you had a beautiful, irreplacable day with dh & ds and you were there to listen to your mom. doesnt that feel just as good as a workout? in the end, how catastrophic is missing one day's workout? i have another way i like to put things like this in perspective: would you want it engraved on your tombstone that you worked out 7 days a week or that you were the kind of mom, wife, daughter, friend who was *there* and had *time* for people. again, not trying to push my views on you, but thinking like this is what helps me stay in zen mode when things dont go the way i want them to...just some seeds i humbly put out there....glad you enjoyed ekc. keith's a nut, isnt he?...ya know, i dont like using my gloves with the bells...only the sweat is an issue for me, it seems....i'll just stick with a towel. the chalk sounds like it could be a mess...oh, no sweat at all on keeping my long run to sunday. today or tomorrow makes no difference.

carole...ok, i think the chickens do sound familiar....sorry...my memory isnt the greatest at times....oh yeah klg looks ready for the wax museum...lol.

gloria....wt3 :)....love your positive spin on having to miss the race! you are so right. you did save some greenbacks there....enjoy your run!

christine...love the livestrong cause and couldnt help getting pumped a day early....yes, this time i *knew* what i was doing when i posted...lol...i am looking to get a tech shirt made up so i can run in memory of my friend who passed and in honor of my other friend's dh. never did hear back from lance's marathon coordinators to run for the cause officially...seems like your dh adds to the tension sometime, huh? guess he's in a tough spot, too. did dd19 start at the office yet? how is dd15 enjoying herself so far?

dallas...so very good to hear from you...more thoughts and prayers coming out to your family....great run y'day...sounds like you have a fun coach...lol about bertha.

shelly....enjoy the shore! will you be on the beach at all or perhaps out on the water the new boat?

Hi Cheethas.

Back for a quick round o' personals before hittin' the showers...

Gloria: So how did your run go?

Christine: Sorry about the issue with DH and DD. Did you knock some sense into him? :p How was your trek to pick up your race packet? Was there going to be a fitness expo or anything going on today?

Dallas: Oh it's so nice to hear from you hon. You are missed here! Yes, definately keep us posted on the other site. I forget to log on there but I get email updates so I know what's going on. LOL about Bertha and OMG about the lightening! I am a HUGE chicken when it comes to thunder and lightening. I'd have a heart attack if I got caught in a storm!

Shelly: Enjoy your quality time with DH.:)

Cathy: You make very good points and I don't want to be remembered as some hard core no fun fitness fanatic but ya know what? Everyone has hobbies. Things they enjoy doing. Things that make them feel good. Things that make them smile. Working out is mine so I feel like taking an hour a day to make myself feel good isn't alot to ask. I don't mind re-arranging or nixxing work outs here and there but I deal much better with it if I know what's coming. It was the last minute thing that threw me y'day. I DO need to learn to relax though as I realize things will not always work out the way I want them to. I also feel overwhelmed pretty easily when I have a lot to do in one day and although most of it was fun stuff with DS, it was still lots of running around with little down time. I am sure that contributed to my mood. All in all I must say it was fun though. Regardless of my rant, I love to see DS have a good time so in the end it was all worth it. :) Sorry about your modem issues. Hope you are back up and runnin' tmrw with no delays!

BBL~

Hi Cheetahs!

Christine - I love doing PUB either just the up or just the down. I can always go heavier. When I have to do all 5 sets, I'm ready to throw something at Cathe. LOL!! Enjoy your rest day and pampering. Good luck tomorrow!

Cathy - I feel a few twinges from my hip every now and then but nothing like a couple of weeks ago. It's not waking me up at night. So, yep, being a little proactive. No accomodations for divers. Last year I had to put some of DBF things in my bag to keep him from being overweight. We were right at the limit too. Sorry you had to change that long run back to Sunday but the chiro is important too.

Wendi - I'm surprised at how much I like the Shred workouts since I wasn't overwhelmed with joy at Jillian's cardio kickboxing. I'll pull it out when I want something easy. Guess you don't have energy to muscle the ball when you work so hard. Hope you have some energy for a workout today.

Gloria - Bummer on the car! Sorry you had to miss your race today. Good attitude about saving money and $1000 worth of gas. LOL!! Yeah, what are we going to do when the new forum is being constructed? Hope you had a good run.

Posh - While I'm doing a rain dance for my area, I'll add a couple of extra steps in there for you too. So sorry the smoke is hanging around. ((((HUGS)))) I hope the conference with all of your selves comes up with something doable.

Wendy - Sorry you lost the motivation for your race this morning. Yeah, there will be others. No fun if you ain't feeling it! Glad you and Joey had a fun day. Oh no on the water park! Now, that didn't sound like fun at all for you. At least, Joey had fun. Hope your day is better today. DBF should be here soon. I'm trying to get my post done.

Carole - Tell that turkey to watch. It could very easily end up on somebody's dinner table. :) So, you're a good ol' country girl at heart and you don't live in the South? ((((HUGS)))) to you too on all the fires and smoke. Still praying that they are under control soon. Enjoy KenpoX +.

Dallas - Good to hear from you. Great job on your 10 miler!

Shelly - Enjoy your time off with DH! Hope you find some fun things to do. Have a good run too.

I did iTread #12 45 minutes. Didn't get up in time to beat the sun and it was already 80 degrees. This iTread was a nice substitution for outside. Grace only gave one walk break and the rest was speed and hills. Did Cathe's Basic Stretch and a little foam rolling.

Hope you're enjoying your Saturday! Gotta run.

Jackie

HIYA FABULOUS SUPPORTIVE FRIENDS!!

Thanks for all the supportive pep talk! youse guys are the best ever, but you knew that! I felt a little stoooopid today for being so whiney on here about the fires and smoke, especially after I read one of the fires just NW of us (the Paradise area fire) took a life and that firefighters found the remains of at least 2 dogs at a home…awe sheet I HATE to hear that! Anyway, to remedy my selfish whining last night re the smoke and fires, I donated a case of Ethnos water ($42 posh bucks!) to the evacuees in the Redding/Chico area that my local Starbuck’s is collecting and going to deliver up to the evacuation center. I also donated to the Red Cross cuz they always help people in need and someday I may be one of them! I am hugging my dogs today and looking around at my simple little modular home surrounded by tall pines and beautiful oaks thanking the lord I am one of the fortunate Californians today…and I bow to all of the men and women spending countless exhausting hours fighting the fires and protecting homes... Also, today is the first day a substantial amount of the smoke has cleared and the temps have dropped. Maybe I can get that long run in tomorrow am outside in Auburn afterall – we’ll see. I have to get going here shortly as this is just a quick stop by the house for a shower and I’m headed back out to my nail appointment. This morning during my posh shopping outing, I finally went for it and bought the POSH a very POSH new toy - an HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-one Printer, Scanner, Copier…yay! I get to print all the pics I have promised to people now!
