RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetah crew! :)

Gloria :: yeah, you know how these first couple of weeks are--I am in bed no later than 9 every night. I think since the weekend was nonstop, it just caught up to me. How was ME? How is your class? As the opening days unfold, I already have one challenge in front of me.

Wendi :: glad you enjoyed your visit with the grandmothers.

Judy :: I would say there are a lot of deer-in-the-headlights expressions right now. :) Mmm, I love Bonefish...Sorry the foot flared up on you again, but I'm glad you are making progress.

Wendy :: Oh, I definitely do not feel guilty about it. School opening is a crazy time for us, and it takes a few weeks to settle in. It is what it is. I will do one more long long run and then taper. Hope you beat the bug that's floating around ya.

Christine :: my favorite is the guy who lets his leashed dog lunge at me when we pass. Now I know better to give a much wider berth...I am happy, too, that the 20 went so well. I am probably going to do one more 20, and if I feel as good again, I might extend to 21 or 22 max. If it's tough, I'll just keep it to 20...How do your legs feel today?

Carole :: I suspect my tiredness on Monday had more to do with school than it did with the long run. I had no DOMS or other post-run pains--felt great. It's the 13-year-olds who wear me out! *lol* Were you able to get in a nap? Looks like a killer mish-mosh you did yesterday.

Jackie :: yes, during the week leading up to the long run, when it pops into my mind, I just visualize myself running strong & happy for a few seconds. Then once I've mapped out the actual course (usually the day before or the day of), I do a mental run-through of the course, again, running strong. During the run itself, I think about everything and about nothing. :) I look around, observe, and play mental games. Near the end, I'm thinking more about form and trying to be strong in the core...Boy, that is taking a long time to get those files moved...10% tax on clothes??? Now THAT stings.

Karen :: Lotsa (((HUGS))). So sorry you have to deal with so much stress and worry. Hoping for good news re: your mom.

Last night, I ran 3 -- which is starting to feel ridiculously short -- on a overstuffed belly and followed with Winsor for buns & thighs. Tonight I will shoot for that EXT circuit again -- if I can keep my eyes open.

ha ha

Hope everyone has a terrific day!

Good morning Cheetahville!

So I never got back here last night (got home too late and too tired) so I will start to play catch up from this point. Yesterday's rung also never happened because I saw that monster of a storm coming and figured I should try to beat it into work rather than trying to feed horses in a monsoon lol! I'm getting ready to head out for that run now....probably 5-6 miles. I really have to get back in running shape if I want to keep up with the Philly Cheetahs:D.

Cathy - I was thrilled to read that you had an awesome 20 miler!!!! I'm in awe of you babe! Funny about the short runs now being ridiculously short lol.

Kathy - Oh, hon, tons of {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} and prayers coming your way. We're here for whatever kind of unloading you feel you need.

Hopefully I'll be back post run...get to go into work late today (8:00)...woohoo! Have a good one!

Mornin' Peeps.

Well as unusual as it may sound I am now considering doing my long run this morning. It's my day off today so I can get out there right after I drop DS off at school. I was going to do it this weekend...shoot for saturday and use sunday as my back ;)...but now DH is saying he wants to bring my car in for service saturday morning so I'd have to be home with DS. It kind of annoys me because 5 mins before he said this I was saying how I absolutely HAD to do my long run this weekend and that I was going to shoot for saturday to do it. AAARRRGGGHHH! MEN!:mad::eek:
I guess if I do it this morning and don't have to worry about it this weekend, it will be a sense of relief but it still ticks me off!:p In addition, the Centergy class I was going to take this month is this morning at 10:30. That can't happen if I have to do my long run either.

Christine: Glad you enjoyed BOSU blast y'day. I haven't used my BOSU in months.

Carole: A mystery veggie? Sounds appetizing! :p Sorry about your bout with insomnia y'day morning. Hopefully you slept better last night.

Judy: WOW, awesome weight work out you did y'day. I think you will REALLY appreciate your yoga class today. :) Joey is in school for SIX HOURS, 5 days a week! How great is that!? :D You never know...the Lilac tourney and car buying could happena at the same time. ;)

Jackie: I am living on the edge with out that nap girl. I'll tell ya!:p Yes, I think Joey enjoys school as much as I do. It can be rough when I first bring him in but then he seems to love it!:) Are all of your files in your new PC at work yet? Nice work out y'day.

Karen: (((HUGS))) to you. I too will pray that it is not cancer.

Wendi: Wow you are slackin' today with the 8am start, huh? LOL ;) Hope you enjoyed the little bit o' extra time and your run as well.

Cathy: I can see how 3 miles would seem like nothing after the mileage you've been putting in. Hope you can keep your eyes open long enough to get in that work out tonight. ;) So how long is your final long run going to be? :)

All caught up! Time to get more coffee. BBL!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Cathy – You’ll have a whole new idea of a “short” run after this marathon! I would so not be happy with the guy and the lunging dog! Our weekend is coming up soon, isn’t it? I have to be in Napa the weekend before! Great job on your “short” run! :p

Wendi – hope you managed to beat the storm to feed to horsies! I miss monster storms. We don’t get them here. Enjoy your run!!

Wendy – sorry DH is not cooperating with your runs! I hate when my DH does things like that. I did enjoy BOSU Blast and man did that ab workout get me. Enjoy your run!

Is it just me or is everyone sick of this election? I’m tired of hearing about this snipe or that whenever I turn on the TV. Today is Have Mercy. Hopefully I can do most of it. We’ll see. Have a fab day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I can see how 13 yr olds could wear you out!! That is good news you felt so good after the 20 miler...:)..No nap yesterday but a good nights sleep last night helped. My IntX+ and PlyoX mish mosh about wore me out! LOL about 3 miles feeling ridiculously short...I remember that! Enjoy your circuit later.

Wendi..enjoy your 5-6 mile run today.

Wendy..hope you can get in your long run today. Thanks, I did sleep better last night...:)

Christine...I got in a good night sleep last night...took care of the kitchen with the Magic eraser...LOVE those!! I had a feeling after the conventions, the Elections would get somewhat nastier...Yep, I am sick of it! Have fun with Have Mercy today.

Jackie...You are so right as trying to improve ourselves with exercise always seems fun!! WOW, you got some very nice things. That is cool some of the gifts matched your decor. It finally cooled down yesterday...yesterday morning it was downright cold! They seem to have the fires contained...No, Mom has not said anything about smoking to me lately, so I surely won't bring it up. Good job with the tempo run and yoga.

Karen...those nouns and pronouns would have me banging my head against the wall too, and I did so well with them in school? I slept like a log last night...:D. How about you? Sending more {{{HUGS}} and prayers your way.

Today is 4DS Chest and Back, abs and a 5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning!

Karen - I am sooo sorry that your mom's tests came back "iffy". I hope it turns out to be just an infection from the kidney stones that is causing the lymph nodes to be enlarged. I hope the pancreas is okay and nothing, also. ((hugs))

Cathy - I would really be mad about the guy letting his dog lunge at me! I am getting so aggravated about dogs being let run loose after saturday. I realize this one was on a leash, but still.....grrr!!! LOL...I know exactly what you mean about the 3 seeming so short! I did 3.5 last night and it was like "hey...I just started!" ;) Good job on your run and WP! I am getting so excited for you and your marathon!!

Christine - Yes, maam!! I am definitely getting sick of the election stuff! I am sick of the cut downs on both sides! It is like grade school/high school again....only these are supposedly grownups! Okay....I will shut up, now! ;)

Wendi - Did the storm ever appear? Seems like everytime it looks like we are going to get a
"good one"....it passes around us! Enjoy your run today! I am sure you will be able to keep up with the Philly Cheetahs!

Wendy - Don't ya just hate it when all of your plans start being changed and screwed up? I always get a panicky feeling when I am afraid someone is going to need me to change up my training....especially my long runs! ;o It sounds like today would be a good time to get it in and out of the way. Enjoy it if you get to do it!!

Carole - Sorry you couldn't sleep the other night! But, glad you were able to sleep last night! Talk about the "power of suggestion"...Last night I came so close to pulling out 4DS after you talking about it, but I went ahead and grabbed GS's again. I will try to at least finish up the week with them! But after you doing 4DS....there I go wanting to do them again! Enjoy your run and 4DS!

Last night I ran 3.5 miles and did GS BS&B.

Hey to everyone! I will try to BBL!

Hi Cheetahs! (maybe with DOMS cheetah)! I am a big fan of the magic eraser too! In fact I am headed to our workout area to spiff up the walls in a bit.

Linda- sometimes I get antsy to do a workout when I read about one of our cheetahs doing it too :)

Wendy- Joey has a great school situation! Did you get in that long run? Yes yesterday was a good muscle burner and my bum and lats are speaking to me.

Cathy- Ok so now 3 miles is not just short, but ridiculously short! Your hard work has certainly paid off already. I did enjoy my 6 miler, but I really should not have done it. I paid for it the rest of the day.

Karen- My prayers are for your best intentions dear.

This morning was cardio coach # 6 with Candace on the EXT. It was 53 minutes with plenty of challenges. It was good to get my HR soaring with out impact! Then it was off to yoga. This instructor is just so articulate and helpul in getting us to visualize what the goal of each pose. I am so lucky to have this class right in my neighborhood.
Ok ther is a kitty between me andthe monitor I think he wants someatention, LOL. BBL hopefully!

Good morning Cheetahs! :D

Karen - How are those nouns going today? ((((HUGS)))) Your mom is really going through a lot. I know it's hard on you too. Will be praying that it's not cancer.

Christine - I wish I could go on one of you cycling rides. I'd probably only last a mile. :p I think Lance has what it takes to do the Tour again. I'm always impressed by him. You are not the only one sick of the election. I'm ready for it to be over and done so they can talk about Paris, Brittany or anyone else. Enjoy Have Mercy!

Cathy - How mean of the guy to let his dog lunge at you! I noticed the little puppies down the street from me are getting bigger. They're starting to bark and run towards me now when I run. Right now I think I can take them on if they try to nip at my legs. This time I hollered stay a couple of times and they ran back to the house. I keep my pepper spray aimed and ready to fire. Hate to do that but the owners should be more considerate or watch them a little closer. I'll have to give the visualization a try. Sounds like a good plan. IS thought they migrated my files but they didn't show up. I have them this morning finally. 10% tax is on everything but food. Actually, it's 9.75% on everything but food. Food is 8.75%. Still too high but no state income tax either. Good luck with that EXT circuit.

Wendi - Did you get all of those horses fed before the storm? Hope you got your run in today.

Wendy - Sorry your workout plans got all messed up. At least, you'll have that long run out of the way. Yep, the files finally showed up. I have them at the other office but needed them here at this office. Joey is growing up. Had to set the Cheetahs up in my favorites again.

Carole - Glad you slept better last night. Wow, what a change in temps for you. It's starting to be sweater weather in the mornings. Glad the fires are contained. Hey, maybe your mom will surprise you! You never know. :D Enjoy 4DS C&B and your run!

Linda - Good job with the runs and weight workouts!

Judy - Hope the foot is doing better. Good workout for you today. Is that the stray kitty that's being so friendly now?

I did Super Body Sculpt (Firm) today. Used heavy weights to get a tough workout.

I forgot to tell you that I had a cricket keeping me awake at night for almost a week. Sounded like it was right outside my window. I'm such a light sleeper too. Pest control came out Monday and sprayed around the patio and I've finally been able to sleep through the night. Boy, those critters are loud at night.

Happy Humpity Hump Day! The week seems to be flying by.

Hiya Cheetahs!

Sorry for the MIA-ness. :( Trying to get into a new schedule between school ad travel soccer. I'm happy to say Lexus took good care of me and the SUV. :D The garage is fixed too. The guy said that there was something wrong with the garage. I said, "Besides the big dent!??" LOL Well, that was a relief because I was wondering why the thing was not all the way up when it should have been. However, I still backed into it.

As for workouts, this week looked like this:

Sat: 10.1 miles not w/TNT. I ran by myself. It was a beautiful day. I got a little alarmed when I saw flowers and a cross at around 4.5 miles. I still have to google and see if it was reported what happened there.
Sun: Flexible Warrior and abs
Mon: 4D-Chest and back and approx 5 miles.
Tues: turned into a rest day...it was DS's golden bday. I had some things to do and never got the workout in that I planned.
Today: Amy's Rumble as a warm up to legs. I did combo 1&2 and the combined 1&2, 4D legs, calves and core, and met my friends at the stairs.

I'll do personals from today's thread. I haven't had the chance to keep up with even reading. Sorry. :(

~BRB

Personals:

Jackie ~ Glad you got some rest. We hear all sorts of things in our backyard. I'm a light sleeper too.

Judy ~ How's the foot? I was looking into some classes today at our sportplex. Glad you found an instructor you like. So, I'll have to go read what you have DOMS from..ha ha. IA love that Magic Eraser. :)

Linda ~ I have to make myself do other weights too. I always want to get back to GS series. I'm going to **try** and stick with 4D for a bit. I need quick right now. :) lol'd about 3 seeming short. You and Cathy are doing great! :)

Carole ~ It seems we think a like. ;) Your workout today was mine on Monday! :) Did you just start back w/4D? I did this week. How's your mom?

Christine ~ I decided I don't want to even put the TV on anymore. Now the state ads are starting to run. UGH! How far did you get w/Have Mercy?

Wendy ~ Did you get your long run in today? I was thinking of changing mine to Friday while the kids are in school. I feel guilty taking time on Sat. I did start the past Sat's run much later than usual. Does Joey go everyday now? How does he like it?

Wendi ~ Yeah, that weather doesn't like to cooperate with our runs (or dh's, right Wendy? ;)). Hope you got your run in today. How are things going?

Cathy ~ WTG on the 20 miler!!!! Woo hoo!!!! Can't wait to read the details! :) Do you do a run/walk approach? Still using the Cytomax? What did you decide on for hydration purposes? I still want to get to the running store for a hand held. Although, Sat I used the single hydration belt and got used to it. How's the back to work routine going? I think it takes 2 weeks (for me) to get adjusted.

Karen ~ Although I haven't read what's going on with your mom. (I need to catch up.) I'll keep her in my prayers. (((HUGS))) for you and prayers too.

Hi to Posh, Shelly, Gloria, Sunny, Lorie and anyone else checking in after I post.

I'll try to peek in later. I have to get the meals cooking! Oh, since I haven't been here in a while, I just wanted to say things are going well for my mil. Thank you so much for the continued prayers for her. You girls are the best!!! :)

13 miles of pure torture I swear! LOL

Hey Girls.

My long run is in the bag but man did it hurt today! I think I was exhausted and draggin' by mile 8! I was runnin' super slow too! Oh well, it happens. I'm just glad it's done! I am hopin' to get an outdoor run in this weekend anyway but now I know I don't have to "go the distance" cause it's done. YAY! :D

My brain is too tired to do personals right now. Please forgive me but I'll come back later or tmrw morning for that. I promise!

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day! I don't know about everywhere else but it sure is gorgeous weather here in Jersey!:)

Ciao!

Hi everyone. Quick post today since I'm running behind. We got caught up in history and am just finishing and dh is home from work and I need to make dinner. Today I got in a 4 mile run. The heat has broken thank goodness. I will try and get on this evening for personals.

Great job Wendy :)

Cath: I am tired as heck. Teaching is like running, you have to build up the endurance. :) My class is wonderful. Everyone comments on how nice a class I have. I guess I have been paid back for last year. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate last year, it was just my hardest so far. You never hate your class anyway. Are you comfortable sharing your challenge? If not, I totally understand. 3 miles seems short for me too, but it is just maintaining. How are your classes this year? How many kids do you have total? I have a lot of lovers in my class. I have gotten A LOT of hugs from a few kids. I am a very sensitive person, but I just am not a physical person like that. It is uncomfortable for me. I am NOT complaining, it is just different. They are needy in a different way.

Wendi: A later work day is always one of life's sweet rewards!

Wendy: Great job on the 13 miler of pure torture! We will see you tomorrow!

Christine: It will be interesting to see how Lance does. How was Have Mercy? Yikes, that sounds like a goodie! I am teaching the after school session of Advanced Studies and we are doing a mock election thing at school that I am in charge of. It will be an interesting experience.

Carole: How are mom's spirits these days? Any new pics of Beau? How have your runs been going?

Linda: Pip has been getting in the way of my workouts a little. I get her up at 4, feed her, let her out, etc. so I can get the workout in. I am busier than I prefer that early in the morning. At least I am decent with my time management. Great workout!

Judy: I think I may have missed a post. I hope your foot is ok. At least you have the ext. I used that when I had the stress fracture. I had to join the gym, but I didn't care. I have to exercise. :)

Jackie: IA the gifts are not necessary. DH and I had a really small wedding with only our closest friends. I never expected anything and they came with gifts, we couldn't believe it. Nice people. I am glad you got some sleep. We have had the crickets in here too and they are annoying. I am happy the week is going fast, I'm tired. :)

Dallas: I am glad your MIL is doing well! So nice to see you! Great workouts!

Karen: (((HUGS))) to you.

Yesterday was Me upper body split. I am hurting. Better get back on the weights again. Today was a 5 mile run. Have a great night everyone!
