Good morning, everyone-- :)

Short post here since I caught up with personals last night.

I thought I might get in a crack o' dawn workout since today will be so busy, but I woke up at 3:30 with a migraine (again already--sheesh ). I seem to be getting it under control, so all is good, but I may just call it a rest day nonetheless. Will see. Lots to do to prep for the kidlets tomorrow.

Sending (((HUGS))) & strength to our cheetahs supporting relatives & friends with health concerns--Carole, Karen, Dallas, Gloria, Wendi, and Wendy. Hang in!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning Cathy and all who follow. :)

Cathy: Thanksf or the good vibes regarding BF's mom. I haven't mentioned it the past few days as there has been no news on that front. She has apparently been status quo since being taken off the meds. Sorry you woke up with a migraine. What a stinker. I hope it went away so that you didn't have to battle it during the work day. Not sure if I'll be doing my long run on sat or sun this weekend. I usually play it by ear depending on my plans for the weekend, the weather and my mood so we'll see what happens. :) Ofcourse they are talking about a rainy weekend from hurricane Hannah so we might get wet no matter what we do. YIKES on your mountain biker friend. I guess he was in shape already so he figured he was good to go. OOPS-not so! LOL I hope Sal's knee gets better soon or he's not going to want to do another race with me. Sounds like your friend is in for the long haul in the labor department if she's already in labor but it's not intense enough to go to the hospital. I will keep my fingers crossed for her that once she gets to the hospital she delivers quick. :) Thanks re the Sharkies. I actually will probably see the inside of Target today so I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Jackie: I do believe I have 14/45. It sounds very familiar. Yoga class was okay. Different teacher with a different style. DEFINATELY preferred the other teacher but I won't be able to do a class with her at all this month since I have to work when she teaches. :( On the bright side, they offer a bootcamp class on wednesday mornings that is really good. I was able to take it one time when it was first offered but have had to work wednesdays ever since. Now I am finally off on wednesdays this month so if I plan my week well, I can take that class if I want. :)

Gotta go food shopping today and go pick up a few things for Joey for school tmrw. I can't believe he starts pre-school tmrw!!!! I'm nervous! LOL He goes to visit his classroom and meet his teachers this afternoon so that will be neat. There are 2 teachers and 1 assistant in every classroom. I thought that was pretty nice. Lots of individual attention they say.

On the work out front, I intend to hit the gym for a run. I have chest, biceps and abs to hit this week still as well. I will do that today or tomorrow. I'm planning a rest day for Friday in preparation for my long run over the weekend.

On the eating front, I did well again y'day. I am not rakin' in the super high GPA's and certainly have not gotten a 4.0 like our hero Carole but I've gotten solid B's the past 2 days and all A's in weight control so I'm satisfied with that. It also helps that the scale reflects my good behavior as well. :)

Off to get more coffee....BBL!

Hey it Hump Day already

personals first:

Cathy- Good job resisting Target popcorn. Oh dear a migraine on a day where you have to be doing so much prep. I hope the gatorade and meds work fast.

Chritine- How are those abs today after the super ab tazing workout yesterday?

Karen- I so enjoyed learning about how you manage teaching and parenting your own lovelies.

Wendy- Did you get any benefit from the yoga class?

Carole- TG your Mom came through ok. And what a blessing to have her grand daughter work in a rehab facility she can use!

Shelly- I know your out there working hard on this last week of your Phili job. We miss ya!

Well I have been rolling my foot out with a tennis ball while sitting here and it really gets in there and loosnes everything up. Now it is time to head down stairs for a TB workout maybe KB? and maybe a 20-30" cardio then at 9:30 it is time for yoga class.

Judy: Yeah, I still felt stretched out and relaxed so the class was not a waste. I just preferred the other teacher's style. Glad the tennis ball massage is working on your foot. So did you opt for KB's today? What kind of cardio did you do?

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Jackie – How’s the new computer coming along? Is the other office far away? I ate clean yesterday, and with little dairy, so I’m feeling better today.

Judy – way to go on the treadmill!! And the cleaning of DS21’s room. I’ll bet you feel good about it all! (Well, except for missing DS21). Abs are a little sore, but the arms are really sore – go figure. :p

Wendy – sore today with a nice case of Butt DOMS? :p DEAL! On the getting back to eating well together! Good job so far! Well, you’ll blow me away in any race! :p

Karen – Thanks for the information on the home schooling. You’re very dedicated. I also appreciate the pep talk on bad eating! You’re right. I’m back to normal today!

Gloria – happy first day of school! Good job with the yoga – great idea before your first day!

Cathy – all still quiet on the baby front? Glad you had a good first day back! 20 miles on Sunday? What will be your longest run? It’s coming up soon, eh? Looking forward to seeing y’all in Chicago! Oh so sorry to hear about the Migraine!!! Hope you’re feeling better!

I'm really beat today and fighting a bit of congestion, so I'm going to be good and do yogilates instead of the hard core ride I had planned. I can move that to tomorrow. My body is telling me it needs something more gentle today. My arms are toast from my ab workout – go figure. :p We have a surprise Bridal Shower for my coworker today. That should be fun. We’re going to TGIFridays, so I’ll eat well. They have some great things to offer. All I can say about the upcoming election is regardless of my stance, I sincerely hope that both candidates come through alive at the end. I’ve never seen it like this before... And on that sunny note, I’ll sign off. Have a fab day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...thanks re my Mom and also for the hugs...:). I do feel bad for her to have to be there. She is hating it and things kinda got a bit heated with her and my sister Karen. I knew the "dysfunctional" part of the family would show up soon due to these circumstances. I am not a huge fan of dried fruit, but when I read the potassium amount I said "I can do this!!" Good job with 3 miles, abs and pilates yesterday. Enjoy your rest today and I hope the migraine diminishes completely ASAP.

Wendy...Thanks re my Mom. A lot of time stitches have to do with breathing. You might have gotten the stitch yes because you were trying to keep up with DH and you were breathing shallower which can be a cause of a stitch. I have gotten them in a short race before if I have gone out too fast. You'll get him next time...:D Wow, Joey will already be in preschool tomorrow! I can imagine you would be nervous. Glad you both get to meet the teachers and stuff first. Hope DH's knee is nothing serious and the pain goes away soon.

Judy...thanks re my Mom. I am glad she will be in that rehab too, although SHE is not real happy about having to go to re-hab in general. A golf ball is also good for PF...:)

Linda..thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. Good job with the 6 miles and MM upper.

Christine...sounds like a fun core workout yesterday. LOL about your sore arms today. Hope you have fun with the surprise bridal shower and lunch at TGIF.

Jackie...I do hope they get my Mom on some kind of med for her bones. Always happy getting good grades in Potassium! Good job with iTread and 4.7 miles. Sounds like a good yoga workout.

Karen...That is great your Mom's bones are good. I have always been concerned about my Mom's, but we could not make her ever go to a Dr. Sounds like a good run and upper body workout.

Gloria...happy to hear you had a great day yesterday!...:)

Update on Mom. She developed a bladder infection yesterday. She has also been a bit more irritable which I knew would come but can understand the reasons. She just does not want to do anything the Dr's say and I know partly because she always wants to be in control and she cannot do that now. They are moving her to a re-hab facility today sometime.

I am doing PH upper and abs and a 4-5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Carole - oh man! I hope your mom's bladder infection clears! On top of everything else - no wonder she's irritable. I'm starting to believe that dysfunctional is more the normal than non dysfunctional. I hope the rehab makes her feel better. I'll keep her and you and your sisters (yes, even PITA) in my prayers!

Well, I decided to change my mind today. I did Rumble through the first bag combo. I like the first 4 combos, not sure about the bag work, though. I'll have to do it again. Too many steps in between the knees and the roundhouses. I kept thinking, "Hmm, sure, the bad guy who is trying to attack me is absolutely going to stand still while I step, step, step, to position myself for another knee." Besides, a rapid fire single knee gets the heart rate up higher, faster. But, that's me. Too picky about martial arts for my own good.

Posting today during my lunch hour. Today I did 60 min total body workout. Needed somthing fast and simple since I have laundry to do as well today with school.

On top of everything today my big screen tv blows up. All of a sudden I hear a pop in the living room. i go out there and the only thing not on is the TV. Can you belive this sh** Sorry. So I call dh and he says to do this and this and that and NOTHING> It's a goner. Dh is really ticked since football starts Thrusday and no Big Screen. Honeslty when I told him we both laughed because if we didn't then I think we would both break down. First my dd arm, then dad, then, mom, then IRS and now the TV. I'm begin tested. I can feel it.

Carole- Hope your mom's infection clears up soon. I hear it is not that uncommon to have somthing like that occur but still it must be miserable for her. Hang in there. I'm holding on like you are.

Christine- Glad the food is back to normal. I'm telling you when I read your post yesterday you sounded just like me. I get so hungry at around 7-8 oclock and then pound the chips or cookies.

Wendy- Joey is going to preschool already. i remember reading your posts from long ago when you were pregant with him. Where does the time go.

Judy- I know yesterday I wrote a book. I'm glad you all read it. I know it was LONG> I tend to go on and on. Thanks so much for your support.

cathy- Hope the headache went away. We all are a sight this group. Thanks goodness we got each other. Hope you have a great day.

Off to resume school.

Good Afternoon Cheetahs! :)

Fly by to report my work out and then I gotta hit the showers. I am taking DS to visit his classroom at 2 today! YIKES! I'm askeered! LOL

I ran 6 miles with Grace this morning. It was tough but fun. Tomorrow will likely be a short run and CTX chest/biceps/abs after work.

BBL!

Hey everyone!

Karen – My goodness! I hope you have some “good” luck come your way! Hopefully, everything will straighten up! You asked about the MM Upper Premix ….I think it was 32 or 34 minutes (including the warmup and stretch). The Lower Premix was around 20 minutes. I haven’t done that yet, though. I just noticed on the menu before I did the upper one.

Christine – Hmmm…..I am thinking of passing on Rumble…at least for a while. Thanks for giving me your thoughts on it! I was with you this morning on not feeling like my “planned” tougher workout. But ….unlike you….I did nothing ;). I may do something tonight.

Carole – Your poor mom! I hope she starts being better soon! Enjoy your workout!

Judy – Great job on the TM run! Thanks for the idea on the pop can for the foot! It would really feel good if it was a very cold can after a long hot run!  Enjoy whichever workout you pick for today!

Wendy – Oh my gosh!!! I can’t believe Joey is starting preschool!!! That seems impossible!! When is your 18 mile race? I know you told us, but I can’t remember 

Cathy – I hope your headache doesn’t stick around! When you used the Nuun tablets, did you also use gels with them? I read on their site that people use other sources for the “fueling”. I wonder if a person used gels while using the Nuuns….if they would get too much sodium, etc. So, I wonder what a person would use for added carbs? Power Bars, etc, maybe? This is all confusing! I was thinking…..(dangerous, I know ;) ) that it would be really good to use Cytomax individual packets to take to races, because that way if they ran out of Gatorade and only had water, a person could just pour the packet into the water. Then we would be guaranteed for what happened to me Saturday would not happen and the packets would be easy to carry!

Has anyone purchased anything from Soark.com? I ordered a pair of marathon shorts this morning from them. They have the 3 large pockets around the back for gels, etc. I called Road Runner Sports this morning to ask what they recommended for marathon shorts because they don’t have anything in their catalog or online with the pockets. The guy pointed me to this site and short. I ordered one for Patty and me. I hope it is a good site. I hope the shorts are good, too!!

I hope to be able to get in a short-ish run this evening after work. I did not do anything this morning.

Hey to everyone!!

Linda

Good evening Cheetahs!

Cathy - Sorry for the migraine! ((((HUGS)))) Glad you were feeling a little better before heading off to work. Have a good day with the kiddies tomorrow.

Wendy - Did your BF family all get in? Sorry you didn't enjoy yoga as much but at least you got some stretching in. That's great that you will finally be able to take the Boot Camp class. Get the kleenex out tomorrow when you drop Joey off. Know he will be so cute heading off to school.

Judy - What workout did you decide to do? Enjoy your yoga class today?

Christine - New computer was pretty easy setting up but IT didn't migrate all of my files. They'll have to do it tonight. The other office is 30 miles away. Good little commute. Congestion is better I hope after I read you did Rumble. :D

Carole - Your poor mom and now a bladder infection. What she's been through is enough to make anyone irritable. Hope that clears up soon. Hope you had a good run today.

Karen - Sorry about the tv. ((((HUGS)))) Not good timing. Stay strong.

Linda - Never heard of Soark.com. Hope the shorts work for you.

I did PUB/PLB combo this morning. I used 55 for all LB work but left off a set of squats and 2 sets of leg presses to shorten the workout. I added in some of the ab work and did the stretch. Ended up being about 57 minutes. That was just right.

Have a good night!

Jackie - nice workout, esp the LB ! I settled on a KPC/LG 55" premix . When Cathe jogged in place I did jump rope ~ two legged hopping~ to ease landing on one foot. I had not done the ankle weight work of LG in a while. So it was a good choice. Yoga was so helpful; we went through a great number of poses and repeated them but did not hold them exceedingly long. The instructor knows I am very tight in the hips and shoulders, and she is really helping me with improving.

Christine- IA about your modification. I was in a 'Kick Box' mood too. See above.

Carole- OH, not another complication for you Mom. At least a bladder infection is easily treated.

Wendy- Remember the camera (and tissues) tomorrow! Let us know Joey's reaction to his first day, and your too!

Karen- DH would have a fit if the TV died at the start of football season! I think you are overdue for some good luck!

Cathy- Did you migraine subside so you could get your last minute preparations ready?

DD17 starts her senior year tomorrow. DS21 Started his senior college year on Tuesday, and DS15 doesn't start (sophomore year) until next Monday. OK, can I brag? DD23 got a promotion. She is now a Production Coordinator on Season 10 of Made! (MTV)
