Mornin', cheetahs! :) :) :)

Lotta catchin' up to do!

Kristi :: we were posting at the same time yesterday so you may have missed my response to Amy’s Garmin question in the post just above yours…I enjoyed reading your “book”…no need to apologize! I am finding out things about the cheetahs I hadn’t known. My undergrad degree is in Communication, so initially, I thought I’d wind up working in advertising or PR. Sounds like an interesting & fun job and it’s great that your boss gives you the flexibility with your hours…That is so cute about Alexander complimenting others on their attire. He sounds adorable. Glad the first day was a success!

Christine :: Hope your friend in Hawaii is OK and the hurricane did, in fact, miss the island(s)! I did have to chuckle at your joke, though.

Carole :: I did move the desk by myself…I couldn’t find a custodian around to help at the time…plus they are so busy…they had to move a lot of teachers this year AND the school has not been running the AC…I think that’s just plain wrong. In heat like this, when you have folks doing hard physical labor!…When I see the chiro today, I’ll tell her that this migraine kicked in pretty much right after my adjustment…she thinks there is a connection with my nerves. PLB + a run sounds great…Love the pic of you & Cedie. I think the neener pic should be your avatar…congrats on dropping 2 lbs!!

Laurie :: happy 13th to DD!…*lol* about the bathroom door at work…that reminds me of a new faculty bathroom that was added in at my old school…it was a single restroom for women…for some reason, they installed a full-length mirror directly across from the toilet. Nice touch. I called it the Sharon Stone bathroom…Hey, that is an awesome compliment! Forget the lighting – that’s good genes & hard work!!

Jackie :: I thought I remembered you saying your last race was hot, but I couldn’t remember if the pics were from that one. I was supposed to do LL but didn’t get home til about 7 last night. Did so much physical work in the classroom that I was too tired to do anything anymore. I love LL, though, so I will fit it in somewhere else this week…Glad you liked your Target shirt.

Laura :: Happy anniversary!!!…sorry about the panic attack keeping you up…Sweet of your son to hang out & keep you company…glad the run yesterday made you feel better. Don’t let Shelly fool you about being the granny in the bunch ~ on my best day, I couldn’t keep up with her!…I joined the group in May 2006 (I changed screen names recently, so the date you see beneath my avatar doesn’t reflect that)…I am currently doing an earlier Cathe rotation – most of the time, I sub running for whatever cardio she calls for that day…in terms of how to keep track of who says what, I always open up a Microsoft Word document in another window and then switch back between the two screens as I write personals. When I'm ready, I just cut & paste into a post.

Shelly :: love the buff hottie pics in your picture trail…very cute! CRACKED up at the Carole shot. Too funny!!

Judy :: *lol* about not hitting the ball straight…I have only golfed chip & putt, but when I do, I wind up shouting “Fore!” at least once. I’ll bet you do get a great workout on the golf course caddying your own bag.

Wendy :: Thanks for the review on the iTread. Glad you liked it. I am starting to appreciate more and more workouts that pack a punch in a condensed amount of time…I’ve made good progress in the classroom but probably need one more day next week to wrap up. (If I hadn’t had to switch rooms, it would not normally take this long to set up.) Storage is the only real “issue” I’m having, so I do have to get rid of stuff and find ways to conserve space. Kind of geeky, but I’m going to post a pic for you guys of the new futon/reading corner…You laugh about the chaps, but I’m telling you, I have seen leather ones ON a chap or two around here before…oh yeah, we’re hiding all the good men here in South Jersey. In church, apparently.

Gayle :: We went through customink.com and did design our own. Custom Ink allows you to create & see your design online – it was a very user-friendly process – but I think they do design for you, too. Great customer service and the pricing was the best I could find. Very reasonable.

Susan :: glad your luggage finally made it to you…that is always an inconvenience, and it seems to happen a lot more these days! I understand why you carry-on whenever you can…How did the girls like the poodle purses?…I can certainly understand why it would be jarring when your dad visits. Your comments about the RT reminded me of my friend Donna. Her mother passed suddenly (no known reason) in April 2005, and it’s been so extremely difficult for Donna and her family. She carries part of her mom’s remains in a miniature urn she wears on a necklace, and when she was talking recently about her upcoming travels to Paris (she’s there now), she was saying how glad she is that her mom will be with her at least in that way but how much she would love a trip like that if she were alive.

Amy :: *lol* about being beat after working 10 hours with crazy kids. Know the feeling. :) Love the scenic shots you added. If you can do PictureTrail, your Garmin will be a snap!

Yesterday, I intended to do Leaner Legs but when I finally got home at around 7, I was just too kaput. I will make up for it at some point in the week, though. I just can't miss my LL torture! }( Today will be PUB + a run.

OK, I know you guys won't mind if I geek out here for a minute and share a photo of my classroom. Since the room I'm in now is much smaller (and, well, not really as nice as my old one), I've been working hard to spruce it up & am excited that it's coming together nicely. The futon is a new addition, and in case you're wondering why I would have one in the room, it's for reading workshop time. (I have some other comfy chairs and pillows that the kids can use to sprawl out & get comfy while they read.)

Good morning! It's been a busy nite at work but not too bad. Just this night and then I have a couple off:) After I get off work at 0700 I plan on a 5 mile run and then crash for a nap. I'll be doing GS BSB when I wake up. Later I'll get in some cycling.

Cathy- Nice classroom set up.... it looks homey :)

I'll try to return later for personals. Hello to all the wonderful cheetahs who follow.

Good morning Cheetahs:

Cathy - Thanks for sharing a pic of your room, it looks nice. I know how you feel about the heat in the schools, we've been dealing with it all summer, too, and we don't have air in MN so those poor custodians really pay the price. We have air in our office area because we work year around, but it broke a couple of times and we were hurting big time!

I now have football equipment and a very excited boy on my hands. :7 The football meeting went well, but very warm in the gym. DS got all his equipment and I even got pics of him for my desk already. ;-) I can't wait to start watching him. Another great plus is while he has 1-1/2 hour long practices 2-3 times a week (games on Saturday) I will be able to go for my runs again :7 :7 :7 :7 He has picture day already tomorrow and practices start next week. I'm so excited!!! My baby is growing up ;)

Today is DH birthday so we are going to his favorite restaurant which I am totally prepared to be a 'good girl'. I've finally started getting things organized and now that I have DS football schedule I'm feeling better. I'm going to get my haircut, too. I need to figure out how to post a pic like Cathy did so you can all see me. ;-)

OK, my book is done for the morning, I'll be back.

Marcia.

Enjoyed a good, strong run this morning, gratefully without any of the usual humidity. I have an early chiro, so PUB will be this afternoon/evening.

Shelly :: glad you'll get a few nights' break...enjoy your run, nap, and cycling later. Thanks ~ homey is exactly what I was going for!

Marcia :: it is one thing not to have air in the school and another thing to turn it OFF just because the faculty/kids aren't there. I know we need to be energy-conscious, but I just am appalled that employees would be treated that way. I'm going to drop off a Great Harvest bread basket to the crew next time I go in - they moved A LOT of boxes for me and are just super-nice people. I have finally figured out how to resize a pic and not distort it. Enjoy your haircut & DH's b-day dinner!!

What is with this OJ book, If I Did It??? IF?? I hadn't paid attention to this story but am watching the Today show now. I don't get it. This seems really twisted to me.

Good morning Cheetahs! Yesterday I decided to do CC #1. I'm not sure if I ever came back to tell you all that. Today will be L&B and ARX. So far I am gaining weight, but that probably has something to do with not eating clean. x( However, I'm going to try to do the P90X diet as best as I can. I bought the manuals off a very kind VFer and received them in the mail yesterday. It looks like a good plan. I will have to look at it more closely and see if I can do it. I don't think I can give up my daily soft drink. It is my vice. Many of you have coffee, I have Dr. Pepper. :)

Marcia - Happy birthday to DH! I'm glad DS is excited about football.

Cathy - Great pic of your classroom.

Laura - Congrats on your 20th wedding anniversary. I keep track of posts by keeping a Word page open and going back and forth between the posts and Word. It allows me to try to keep up with everyone. After I have completed my post in Word then I cut and paste it as a post. It is the only way I know to do it.

I'll try to be back later. Have a great day!

Cathy - Oh, I totally agree, you are so nice to give them a basket of goodies as a "thank you". We do that here, too, during the summer when they go out of their way to help us. I can't believe that they wouldn't have that air on during the summer, especially this hot and humid one we are experiencing this year.

Marcia.

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I’m off run in about an hour. I’ll do three miles today, followed by GS Legs floorwork.

Cathy – I love the photo of your classroom! I thought the futon was for you when you do a really hard core workout and need a nap during the day. :p Just kidding – actually, it looks really nice! Oh, I’m sure Dick is fine. He’s just one of those people those things tend to happen to. Glad the Hurricane missed the Big Island, though – they don’t need that (no one does!) . Enjoy PUB and your run!

Shelly – Glad your night went well and that you have some time off afterwards! Enjoy your run!

Marcia – Oh, how exciting for DS and for you! Have fun enjoying the games, and bragging rights by having a photo of your handsome son in uniform on your desk! Happy Birthday to DH!!!

Kristi – I missed it that you’re going P90X! Yeah, the first few weeks, weight gain is not uncommon – it will come off though. I did not follow the diet too closely, but it is a good one and some of those recipes look really good (Odd, because I always try new recipes!)

Waves to all who follow!

Hey there, Cheetahs! Don't know if anyone noticed I was missing, but have had some internet issues! Long story, we were going to switch, then it was such a hassle that we switched back but they won't have a new line for the DSL til next Wed!! They did hook me up w/ a dial up # for now though, which is painfully slow!!!

Busy here getting the girls ready for school on Monday & also starting round 2 of P90X then. I'm ready to bring it!!!!!! My brother & SIL are here from TX so we were at my Mom's this weekend & have been spending as much time at the pool as we can. And of course, I'm still working out!! 4.5 mile run y'day + 200 walking lunges, and 14 mile bike today. Some other sort of workout TBD later!

Just wanted to check in w/ the Cheetahs. I will have to wait to check out the RT pics until the DSL is hooked back up or it will take forever! Hope all is well!

Hey guys. Here's my daily quickie!

Step Fit (oldie by GOODIE) and Core Max 3.

I promised the boys I'd watch Wild Hogs with them this AM...and they're pestering already!

School starts for us on Sept 4th, so we've got just a few short weeks till we ALL go back to schooL!

Oh, and Cathy, thanks for the shirt info!

Gayle

Cathy - I did see your post yesterday to Amy regarding the Garmin. I really appreciate it. My heart is set on getting one, hopefully for my birthday. It sounds like an awesome running tool.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...wow, I agree that it is crazy in the heat there for anyone to be doing hard labor. I never noticed the humidity real bad back there until I got home! It is a lot drier here. That is interesting about the migraines after an adjustment. It could very well be nerves. I did think about my neener pic for my avatar! Maybe I will have to change weekly...:)..I like the pic of your classroom. Looks very comfy. I think I remember reading about the OJ book awhile back. Talk about ridiculous...someone should just drop kick him...Thanks, it was nice to see a drop finally in the scale.

Shelly...have a nice run and GS workout. Didn't you get a pic of me and Cathe??

Marcia...sounds like you and your DS are ready for some Football!!

Kristi...I know eating clean the 1st time I did a P90X rotation really helped with my results. I am not sure how I stopped drinking Diet Pepsi, but slowly I subbed water and now that is my drink of choice, besides coffee in the morning.

Christine...a run and GS Legs floorwork sounds like a good workout.

Jess...sorry about the internet issues. We had a great time at the RT.

Gayle...let us know how you liked Wild Hogs. My DH wants to watch it. Good workout.

Wendy...well, at the breakfast sunday, when I ordered my scrambled eggs the waitress asked if I wanted bacon, sausage or scrapple. Of course I asked what the scrapple was. She looked at me disgustingly and said "oh, you are not from around here"....ummm...DUH!!!!! Anyways when she explained it, I promptly answered I will have just the eggs and no meat products! Susan nicknamed her Helga. Not sure what would get me on the dance floor with Cathy's BF...:)..that is great to buy new jeans for your weight loss. They looked great and I can just hear you 2 laughing about the slutty jeans!

Christine..thanks for being on my side about the scrapple.

Judy..that will be interesting to find the distance golfing with your Garmin!

Susan...I am so happy you got your luggage. It can be tough to see one parent without the other. Your Mom will be in your thoughts forever. After the talk on the bus I guess she might have been the only one in your family that did understand your need for exercise and staying fit. I am hoping you have a nice visit with your Dad...:)

Laura...Happy Anniversary! Some of us do one of Cathe's rotations and just sub running for the cardio. Other do what they want. It depends on your goals. I do what Cathy does for posting but I use Notepad instead of Word. I just open Notepad and scroll thru the previous post making comments. Then copy and paste what I wrote in a message here. Not sure how long we have been a group...1-2 years?

Amy...sounds like a long day. Pizza can be good...:)..Those pics of Hawaii are breathtaking!

I am doing MM upper body and a 4.5 interval run.

Have a great day...:)

Cathy- I love the picture of the classroom. What grade do you teach? I have my preschool room all set up. I just need to put packets and name tags together.

Marcia- Happy Birthday to your DH. We are going to a fancy restaurant for our 20th wedding anniversary tonight. I plan on being a bad girl though. Bring on the chocolate and red wine! How old is your son? My DD is almost 16 and a cheerleader. She is a flyer and loves it! It is terrifying to watch as a parent though.

Shelly- So you do a run then a tape? I was wondering how you all fit in running with tapes. I always have intentions of doing that but never seem to get both in on one day.

Kristi – What is CC? I’m still trying to learn all these abbreviations. I am doing the word document trick and now I get it and can try to keep up with you all. This is fun!

Jess- Wow that is a great workout planned! What is P90 that you all are talking about?

I’m off to do MM.
Then I need to put on my wedding dress. I have this tradition of putting it on every year on my anniversary date. It still fits, just a little bit differently after 2 kids and 20 years:)

Have a great day everybody.

Laura

Good morning Cheetahs!

This is late for me - 9AM! But I slept in. My students exhausted me yesterday I guess! I know Cathy can relate - also being a teacher. But anyone else with kids of their own can relate too! I hope to be blessed someday with ones of my own!

Sorry so short right now - and will come back for personals!

I am going to try an oldie but goodie too (like Gayle!)
Power Max! I got this Cardio Hits DVD and never tried it!
It has been collecting dust - ha ha!

I am off! :)

Be back!
Amy :)

Laura - CC stands for Cardio Coach. They are audio workouts used on either the treadmill, elliptical, or stairclimber. They are similar to itrains. Great job on still being able to fit into your wedding dress. I'm sure mine won't fit at all. That is a nice tradition.

Laura - They can be downloaded to an mp3 player or ipod. Personally I like to have mine on CD so I can put them in my DVD player and play them while I'm on the treadmill. I've never gotten around to putting them on my mp3 player yet. My mp3 player I use exclusively for my outside runs. Currently it is filled with music.

Good morning everyone!

Laura - Sorry for the panic attacks. Nice of DS to stay with you until you were all better. Happy Anniversary to you and DH! Right now I'm running 4-5 times per week. I do strength workouts 2X per week. After my half marathon, I'll reduce the running and add in more weight work. When I'm posting, I have two windows opened and I switch back and forth between them.

Shelly - Love the pic of Carole. That will teach her not to neener neener you, huh? :) What fun you ladies had! Interval run and Cardio Fusion!! Whew!! What a workout! You made me blush with the pics. Thanks! Enjoy your workout today.

Christine - Did Jimmy enjoy his run? Hope you post a pic of the two of you running.

Kristi - So glad DS enjoyed his first day and is still excited. He sounds like the perfect little gentleman.

Carole - Congratulations on the 2 pounds gone!! Guess Cathe worked you hard. I like those slow runs. BTW, I'm trying to find a good vegetarian cheese with some flavor. Do you have any suggestions?

Gayle - Love fresh tomatoes, especially grape tomatoes. Hope you get that treadmill fixed soon.

Wendy - I listened to iTread 21 this morning as I ran. I'm going to like that one. Sounds like a real butt kicker. Should help with endurance at higher speeds.

Judy - Do you play tennis just for fun or do you play in tournaments too?

Susan - Glad that luggage found its way home. How is the hip, knee & ITB doing? Ready for a run yet?

Cathy - Sounds like you need a rest day from the classroom work. I hope everything is shaping up like you want it. I like the reading corner idea. Don't make it too comfy and tempt the kids to take a nap. :) Oh, I see the pic now. Looks good to me. OJ is crazy!!!

Marcia - Happy Birtday to DH! Enjoy dinner tonight.

Jess - Good to see you. Sorry for the internet issues.

Amy - Glad you got to sleep in. Enjoy your workout!

I did a 35 minute tempo run and got in 3.6 miles. I listened to iTread #21 to see what it was like. Then it was on to ARX and a 20 minute stretch. Don't know what made me want to do ARX after a hard run but I made it through it.

Happy Hump Day!

Jackie

Laura - Don't feel bad, we have all been there. You never know until you ask. :) Here are the websites for both CC and itrain: www.cardiocoach.com & www.itrain.com. A lot of people love itrain, especially since they are cheaper. They offer more variety. Wendy could tell you all about itrain. I only own a couple and still have not used them yet. However, I love my CCs. I'm definitely happy with the money I have spent on them.
