Good morning, cheetahs!
It wound up being a 14-hour workday for me yesterday, so I had to skip my circuit.
Posh :: AWESOME job with your half, esp. having to fight through cramping! Wow! And hey, I assure you I am a bigger cheesemeister than you. When the Rocky theme comes on my iPod (which is usually kept to shuffle mode), I admit, it does get me pumped. I have a few German folk songs on there that put me in a jolly mood, too. *lol* BTW, are you bringing your iPod to Chicago? Your day yesterday sounded heavenly. Happy anniversary & enjoy! Look forward to seeing some pics.
Wendy :: I tried the Advil when I had that one really bad back flareup, and I found that it also helped with the (minor) knee/lower leg aches that I was getting on some of the long runs. I wore the snakeskin shoes yesterday. The point makes them so long, I tripped over a kid's desk.
(Didn't fall, though.) Received many compliments, but I have to go with a more senior citizen-like shoe today.
BTW, I think it's a safe assumption that you will definitely be ready to go for the marathon after your 18-miler!
Wendi :: it's good to have ya back!...No, I never did make an appt. with the 2nd neurologist OR the orthopedist. I got a little appointmented-out. *lol* Oh no--you do NOT look like Carrot Top! How do you like the new 'do?
Christine :: OMG, that mountain lion story is freaky! Good news about Sunday's ride, although a 2600 ft. climb still sounds daunting to me. Nice job with LIC. I don't remember her hammering the bi's and tri's on that one, but I have noticed lately that some of the DVDs seem to have a bit of an "imbalance" in the emphasis. Good thing we own 'em all!

Carole :: A follow-up question re: your marathon training...your base mileage--was it up there to begin with? This Sunday, I'm aiming for 20-22, and then the next two long runs call for 8-10. What would your running look like during the week during those two weeks and then the week of the mary? At the moment, I usually run T, R, and F (3-6 miles). Thanks!...A head lamp might get me to re-consider running in the dark. Probably the main reason I don't do it anymore is not being able to see and tripping or turning an ankle, which I do often enough in the daylight.
Ack on the sneezing attack! That sounds awful. After 14 miles and all that work, the massage must've rocked!
Jackie :: The feet just get so roughed up that the heavy duty creams help only to a degree. The baby is doing fine although my friend says she sleeps for an hour, drinks an ounce, and repeats. So they are pretty exhausted but over the moon. When things settle a bit for them, I'll go and visit. $4.19? Sheesh! That sure got jacked up quickly.
Linda :: In digesting the information of the different plans and what Carole shared, I'm thinking the lower cutbacks (that is, lower than what Carole does) are in Galloway's schedule because it's a "to finish" program for beginners, and he is pretty conservative. My take on it is that more is better, but the minimum will do, if need be. I was initially thinking of the 13-16 range for last Sunday's run based upon Carole's advice, but then scaled that back to 11 in light of the migraine. Though I only eked out 9, Jeff's plan called for 8-10, so I figure I'm still OK. Are you shooting for a certain time goal?
Karen :: Good for you--and your mom--in staying positive. Lotsa (((HUGS))). Will be hoping for the best.
Gloria :: hope you can nip that cold. That's a sure sign school is back in session, isn't it? The symphony of sneezing has begun, and the germs are rampant.
This afternoon will be a run, for sure. Not letting anything take priority over the miles.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
