:::: CHEETAHS :::: tuesday, 7.31

Went with the run first (3.6) to escape the heat. Have decided to do PLB later on today. I'm feeling too spent to get in a good workout right now.

Wonder where the East Coast cheetahs are this morning...

HI!

Cathy- I'm here, with my cuppa java if your taking attendance LOL!

Today is a Rally for The Cure ( Breast Cancer) Golf Day at our golf facility so I am wearing my pink and hope to have some fun.

Later today we will head to the airport to see our exchange student off. It has been a bit of a challenge comparing cultures. Spanish teenagers do not do domestic chores or earn their own money. Our student doesn't understand why my teenagers have sumer jobs. She also was not pleased when we told her we were going to wash the cars as a family. We certainly have learned something here. She has too. Oh, and Spanish mothers in the upper middle class do not cook or clean. This girl's family has a housekeeper (full time hours) who does the cleaning, laundry and cooking.

Good morning Cheetahs! I hope everyone is well. Unfortunately I have not been able to read any previous posts.

Yesterday I started my tweaked Classic P90X Rotation with S&A and ARX. The cardio portion will be running of course. Hopefully this will kick my butt into gear. I need to stop being disappointed in where I am physically and do something about it. Today will be CC #1. I'm going to work really hard with this one, even though it is only 35 minutes. I'm hoping that running with the CCs will help with my lack of endurance while running.

Sorry this is so short. I'll try to find time to come back later. Waves to all cheetahs!

G'morning Cheetahs!! Had an awesome time at my Mom's- lots of eating out and lots of fun!! ;-) The girls had a blast- we went to the zoo, to a baseball game, to the park, etc. They were all worn out & slept in til almost 9 y'day!!! We got home last night & I'm sure they'll sleep in late again today. We'll have to get started back on school time before too long, school starts 3 weeks from y'day!!!! I did use my Mom's TM but that was it for exercise, I forgot to pack my Cathe DVD's!!  It's ok though we were busy enough!

I ran 5 miles this morning w/ Erin. We had a good run, started out a little slow (10 min pace) & our last mile was 9:05 so we got a little faster each mile. Not speedy but we had a good run anyway. :)

Taking the girls to the pool later as it's gonna be a hot one!!

Must get to work on laundry & picking up around here. That's what happens when I leave Greg home alone for a couple days!! :p

Hey Ladies:) Been kinda stupid busy working out of 3 places the past 10 days and trying to enjoy the summer. I'm all done at the clinic on Friday thank Goodness! So far so good at the gym, love the room but we'll need some insulation in the ceilings to buffer the bass from the aerobics classes. Had a nice cottage weekend last weekend and I'm really looking forward to my holidays starting on Friday. I've been exercising but I've been eating waaay dirty these days (shame on me}( ) so I need to reign it in a bit. I'll run 8K this morning then I'm volunteering at the University to massage riders on a rally from Toronto to Montreal (about 500K), Kingston is midpoint so the riders will rest here over night. I have a pedicure and a massage later today...can't wait!!!:)

Cathy, glad I missed all of the cake talk yesterday....could have got me into some trouble:+

Judy, sounds like a lot of cultural differences there. Great experience for everyone. Enjoy your golf.

Kristi, sounds like we're feeling the same....you're right, it is time to do something about it!! We can do it!! We are Cheetahs...hear us ROAR!!}( :7

Jess, glad you enjoyed your run:)

Take Care
Laurie

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...so what kind of cake did you make? Good job getting in the run before it got too hot. Yesterday when I ran about 5:40, instead of my usual 7:30 it was sooooo much cooler. Got your PM, although it did come thru weird...

Judy..what a great reason to golf today..:)..wow!! I had no idea Spanish culture was that different. I know some Mom's that would LOVE the full time housekeeper! Yes DH did make it out for a ride, I think it wore him out doing it so early...:)

Kristi...so is the 1st time for a P90X rotation? Just remember there are still lots of people that don't even consider exercise!! And you are here and doing it...:)

Jess...sounds like a fun time at your Mom's. Good run too picking up the pace as you go along. I know what you mean about leaving the DH's home for a few days. I am dreading coming home from the Road Trip!!

Laurie...that is great you get a pedicure and massage today! Enjoy...:)..I bet the riders will appreciate those massages from you...Have a nice run.

Jackie..I saw some nice cool running shirts at Target yesterday by Champion. I don't remember the price though. Good job with the PLB/PUB combo and Yoga.

Elaine...looks like your puppy is a cutie! I have not done the puppy thing in quite awhile. I bet Christine has some great advice.

I am doing PLB and 40 min on my EXT.

Have a great day...:)

Hi gang:

Quick post here and then I'll be back.

I did a 30 minute power walk and later I'll tackle today PUB. I can't wait, I haven't done that in a while and I'm aching for
some DOMS }( }(

Eating has been a little shaky after my convention of constant eating :9 :) So, I'm getting back into 'clean' eating a little slow, but surely doing better. ;-)

Have a great morning everyone and I'll be back.

Marcia.

Good morning all! Just time for a quick post as I want to head out for my run before it heats up too much. I'll be back later with some personals:) I usually post towards the end of my shift when I'm working cuz thats a slow period but couldn't yesterday due to some emergencies happening the last few hours.... It's so hard when that happens at the end when you're so tired! Anway, after my nap I got in ME/BC combo premix and followed it with Amy's KBExt.
For today I'll be running round my block.... which is 10+ miles of hills.

Cathy- I e-mailed ya!

Later!

ShellyC

Good morning everyone!

Amy - Hope you rested better last night. Before I got my treadmill, I use to run through my house but I would only do it for about 10 minutes. It was just too boring. Let us know how you make it for 1 hour.

Christine - Sales Boot Camp sounds like a good workout! :)

Cathy - I wasn't able to find the Aquaphor in a tube either. I bought the smallest jar I could find. I like the Yoga Zones because they're only 20 minutes and they don't work me too hard. I use them mostly for some good stretching. What kind of cake did you bake?

Elaine - What a cute picture of the puppy!

Sunny - At least you can now give that Garmin a trial run. Whew!!

Judy - Good job on the 9 miles! That workout studio sounds wonderful. Can't wait to see pics. Enjoy the Rally for the Cure.

Kristi - Good luck with building your endurance again. You can do it!!

Jess - Glad everyone had fun at your mom's. Good run today!

Laurie - Glad things will quiet down a little for you after Friday. Wish you could come to TN and do some massages.:7 Enjoy your pedicure and massage.

Carole - Thanks for the tip about the running shirt at Target. I have a Champion catalog that has a shirt I like. It has UV protection built in too. Will check Target out when I visit DBF this weekend. Hope you enjoyed your workout today.

Marcia - Did the PUB/PLB combo yesterday. Have some nice DOMS across the chest. Really like this one. Good luck with the clean eating.

Shelly - Enjoy that 10 mile run! Nothing like some good ol' hills to give the legs a good workout. What was the temp this morning?

This morning's workout was iTread #2 60 minutes. I tried to do the workout as is and got in 5.3 miles. Finished up with Cool It Off Express.

Have a great day!

Jackie

Good morning ladies,
A quick check-in for me today. I am off to the chiro and then a massage, ahhhhhh.

I had a great workout yesterday. I did Imax2 and all of PUB. A tiny bit of ITB, but overall pretty good. Today, I will do bootcamp and maybe a small portion of KPC.

Cathy, I also e-mailed you:)

Have a great day ladies and sorry to be so quick, but the waffles just popped up}(

Susan

Good late morning Cheetahs!!!!!

Sorry this is so short but I wanted to send a nice hello!

I did something wrong on my picture trail account :(

So my picture is not posted anymore. Thanks for telling me. For some reason it showed up on my computer, but not on your's!

I need DH's help on this one. I think I deleted some things, and things are a mess! ha ha! Told you I am no good with computers!!!

Take care all, have a nice day! No working out again today for me. As most of you know - I am a recovering jetlagged person from Hawaii! SO.............tomorrow I am definitely working out.

Bye!

Amy

Hi Cheetahs!

Thanks to Christine for giving me lots of puppy training pointers and a tremendous amount of encouragement! Rex is the cutest thing but sooo stubborn. He hates his collar and won a couple of battles when I took it off of him to make him happy. But I'm gonna win this last one! He's too cute and really funny. A great addition to the family after we lost our old guy a couple of months ago.

Cathy, It took me forever to realize that you had changed your user name and are not a newbie to the forums. How's your summer been? Relaxing I hope. So who do you share your cake with or is it all yours?

Judy, The PF has gotten much better but has not gone away. It doesn't seem to be budging from here! Frustrating as all get out. We have hosted students from 5 different countries and the girl from Spain was our favorite. She was here 5 summers ago and we still have contact with her. I think that regardless of what country they come from they just all have different personalities. Both DH and I couldn't wait until the Italian girl that stayed with us left. She was a horrible spoiled brat!! Now that DD will be in school all day starting in Sept. I'll get to start golfing with my DH again!! Whoohoo!!! Can't wait!

I guess I should add a bit about working out....Nothing for me today! I have to go to LAX to pick up DS who has been visiting my mother in PA.

Carole, Yep. See above.....Christine had some awesome tips.

Hi to everyone else......I'm seeing lots of new "faces"!!

Hello again dear cheetahpals! Wow, I really should kick my butt out of bed earlier on long run days. I think I sweated off a few pounds this morning, but it's all worth it:) Later today I'll get in a Squeeze workout.

Cathy- As you know I almost always split my workouts, morning and late afternoon or evening. I think you'll find you have much more energy for PLB... great job on your run today. BTW, would you like to try to attend Cathe's Friday morning step class Aug 10th with me, (and Carole and Susan if they are interested)?

Judy- I love those charity events for cures! Your golf event sounds like fun :) I was fascinated by your account of your spanish exchange student. Americans are by far much more hard working then Europeans but no one seems to really be aware of this.

Kristi- I think you are on the right track with your p90x/running rotation and I bet you'll get some awesome results!

Jess- Sounds like you and your girls had a great time at your Moms!
Nice run for you today :7

Laurie- How nice that you volunteered your professional services!!
500K!!!! Those riders are going to be needing you!!

Carole- Can you share with me your secrets for getting yourself out of bed early enough for the long runs? It does make such a difference to be running when it's nice and cool and I feel so good when I can get up early enough. My kitty will usually get me up at 0600 demanding food, but I really need to be up at 0500 this time of year. It's just too darn easy to talk myself into hittin the old snooze button! Also, re the roadtrip... do you think you'd be interested in trying to attend Cathe's step class Fri. am?

Marcia- I can't wait to see your website!!! It sounds like it was quite an inspirational trip for you. It should give you a boost for this new rotation you are starting.

Jackie- Great job on your iTread workout this morning! I used to be like you and would "save" my good running shirts for races. I wised up though and realized wearing the right clothing for long training runs was just as important as for races. The heat this mrning was brutal.... I really need to be getting the old bod out of bed earlier!!!

Susan- wooohooooo, got in a great workout yesterday!!!!! You are on a roll there cheetahgal!!!! I am SO looking forward to meeting you :7

Amy- Welcome back!!!! Don't feel bad about not being able to run or work out too much right now. The jet lag and adjustment from vacation takes a while to subside. If you want a suggestion for a cardio workout that doesn't take up much room or expense how about jumping rope? I also like the idea of alternating running in place with jumping jacks. I hope you can get your picturetrail problem sorted out.... I'd love to see your pics!

Elaine- great to be hearing from you!!! I'm so sorry your PF is still bothering you :-( I guess your new puppy is a terrier... what kind specifically? Forgive me if you already told us this, I missed it. Anyway, he's a cutie. I knew Christine would be good for all kinds of good tips. But puppies do take a lot of time don't they? It is definitely worth it though.

Time to get on with the day y'all! Have a good one.

ShellyC

Hi Shelly. Yep, Rex is a Cairn Terrier. He's a stubborn little character but a big baby too. He loves to be held and cuddled. That's part of why I fell in love with him when I first saw him. It's time consuming for sure but dang he's cute and that helps a lot!

Sunny/Carole, Both of you have posted about getting a foam roller at Target. I looked the other day in the exercise equipment area dna didn't see any. Is that the section where you found yours?

Just finished PUB and I know for a fact I will have DOMS in the morning, just like I'd hoped. }( My arms are feeling extremely weak right now.;-)

Making roast and mushrooms with mushroom sauce over brown rice with fresh sweet corn and a salad for supper. :9 :9 :9 So, I better hop to it.

Have a great night!
Marcia.
