Good Morning ladies,

I am about to leave for my bootcamp and treading classes! Those will most likely be the extent of my workouts today. This afternoon i am taking ds #2 to the library to see elmo:D

the muay thai kickboxing class was awesome, awesome, awesome!! it is an authentic kickboxing/fighting. the instructor (my mgr at the YW) told me i did great and had awesome form. i just need to remember the real defense moves and not the cardio kickboxing ones i am so used to, lol.

have an awesome day ladies!

Good morning, Sunny & everyone else! :)

Had a run planned but am changing up this week's rotation on account of the fact that my Garmin is being delivered TODAY already!! (I ordered it yesterday through Amazon and accepted the free trial of Amazon Prime, which meant free two-day shipping. But wherever it's shipping from must be so close, it's only taking one day!!) Yay! I love getting packages. :) :) :) Anyway, with all this heavy leg work, I've been avoiding back-to-back runs; therefore, I'd rather run tomorrow and be able to test out my new *upgraded* toy. So now, I'm off to go tackle a KPC/L&G premix (thanks, Carole, for planting that seed! :D).

Have a great day, everyone!
Cathy :)

Morning Cheetah Runners!}(

It's gonna be another scorcher here in Jersey! UGH!:-(

Today's work out is ITri (I think but I'm nervous!YIKES!) and GSBS&B timesaver.

Sunny: My gosh girl, is there ANYTHING exercise related that you are NOT good at!? I swear you are a natural! Were you an athlete in highschool??

Cathy: Oh my gosh you must be so excited to get your new garmin! So refresh my memory...which garmin have you been using and which one did you just buy? What does the new one have that the old one didn't? I love my Garmin. I have to bottom line one-201 but I don't run outside regularly so it's fine. When I have the opportunity to use it though, it's great. It keeps me motivated. If I ran outside all of the time I'd probably look to upgrade myself!}(

BBL!

Sunny-That kickbox class sounds FUN FUN FUN! Enjoy your classes today!

Cathy-what did I miss about your screen name??? I'm confused! (which isn't easy to do, lol)

OK...I slept in. Plain and simple. The kiddos are still sound asleep, but I'm taking them and 2 neighbor boys to the local water and amusement park, so I knew that I would be walking, climbing, swimming, etc ALLLLLLLLLLLLL day long. Today was a HEAVY leg day, but my legs will get enough of a workout as it is. We'll be back very very late, so this will be my only post today!

Enjoy the HOT HUMID day...we're forecasted for 96+ degrees.

Gayle

Hi cheetahs-

How do we like the heat in the north east? }( }( }(

Cathy and other Garmin users, How do you like your devices and which do you recommend? I bought the Nike+ Ipod device and it is going back to the store. It was all off on distance. My shoes are not Nike but I am not going to get Nike shoes and goof up my comfortable fit at this point.

Gayle have fun at the amusement park. Today isa great day for it. WE will be taking our Spanish girl to one later this month.

Sunny and Wendy HI! I have enjoyed reading your comments lately :)

Hi Christine - How is your spinning and non running workout going? Jimy's pictures are sweet sweet sweet!

Shelly- After checking out that article in Running Times, I determined my Max HR to be higher than the predicted one for my age. Accordingly I can run at 75% max HR with a HR in the 150's which is much more manageable than high 130's to low 140's! I'm willing to continue for a bit longer. I'm thinking a Garmin may be a nice tool for managing distance, speed and HR. Do you use one?

Hi Carole and Laura and Jackie and Jes!

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

G'morning Cheetahs!! I did a 5 mile run + 100 walking lunges w/ my buddies this morning! Longest outdoor run since my injury!! Yeah!! Felt great too, but very humid out!! It's gonna be a hot one today. I think we'll be heading to the pool.

VBS= Vacation Bible School. (Cathy, I saw you asked y'day) It was a success last night, the kiddos had a great time. We had 16 kids in our 1-3rd grade class alone! I'm sure there will be more as the week continues. It was lots of fun, I just love those kids. We ended up bringing 4 visitors, the girls were so excited to bring their friends. They will get a pony ride at the end of the week for bringing visitors, good incentive! ;-)

Sunny ~ You're getting in some great workouts! I saw you posted that you'll be getting some swimming lessons. I wish I had someone to give me some pointers. I'm a decent swimmer but know I could do better w/ some help. My buddy Melissa is an excellent swimmer, so she said she'd help me out. So you're thinking of a tri???

Wendy ~ Glad that the tat is finally healing up. Will you share some pics of it?

Cathy ~ Enjoy your new *toy*. So you're liking the rotation you're doing? I've been doing a lot of leg work this past week & enjoying it!

Gayle ~ You *sound* happy, I'm glad!! Have fun at the park today, walking stairs for water slides is always a good workout!

Judy ~ Glad you popped in. I have a Garmin 201, so I don't have the HR monitor. I'd like to get one some day, but afraid I'll get too obsessive about it. :p I have heard good things about the 301 & 305, I believe they both have the HR monitors.

Amy ~ Thanks for the compliment about being in amazing shape. I definitely feel like I could tackle most things- biking, swimming, running, lifting. I like being well rounded & it helps keep the injuries away! (at least I hope so now!) And thanks for the compliments on my pics, I think my family's pretty cute! ;-)

Carole ~ I love my laminate flooring!! It didn't take long at all to install, it was more work moving the fridge & things out of the way to install it! It's really easy to clean & looks so much better than the old flooring!

Have a great day, Cheetahs!

Hello Cheetahs!

Happy Tuesday! (wish I could say Friday!)

Today I had a great run at the local park. I ran for 45 minutes. I think I need one of those Garmin watches. I need something that will track my mileage. How amazing that this watch can do that. I never saw one before, and should read up on them.

Cathy - enjoy your Garmin!

Wendy - do not itch that tat as you know. I am sorry you are having that problem right now! I love it - bad - on your right hip! :)
You are too much! Good luck with your exam results, you will do it! You have worked so hard, I can tell!

Judy - Good luck picking out a Garmin! Let me know if you have good luck!

Jess - I would like to buy Low Max. I enjoy Cathe's intermediate workouts sometimes too! Actually - I enjoy them all!

Gayle - Enjoy the amusement park today!

The humidity is here in Boston! Yuck! Oh well - that is what we get in summertime!

Today I watched my Drill Max DVD. I have yet try it. It looks awesome, and I love the music!!!! I can't wait to try it!

Kick Max made me a little sore today - from yesterday. I will live! Love the workout pain! :)

Have a great day ladies!

Take care,
Amy

KPC/L&G premix #16: *done* - LOVE it! Left off the abs as I had some trouble with DVD freeze-up (again) and lost a bit of time. Will get to them later today or in the week.

Wendy :: I know - yesterday was ungodly, wasn't it??? I could not be outside...I have the 201 also...the 305 has a HRM and is supposed to get better satellite reception...plus, I never was able to get the software to work with the 201 - it was only after tech troubleshooting that the Garmin folks said straight-up that the 201 connectivity was crap. Those were the main draws for me. Enjoy the iTri & GS BSB.

Judy :: I would recommend the 305 for you. I have been happy with the 201 for meeting my basic needs - but I bought it before I started taking an interest in HR training; otherwise, I'm sure I would have gone right for the 305. The only thing about the 201 that disappointed me was the fact that I could not utilize the workout software. But since my main usage has been to calculate distance, time, and pace, that wasn't really a terribly important issue. Generally, I get good satellite reception, with occasional faltering if I'm in heavy tree cover. Nonetheless, I decided to upgrade now (sooner than later!) because my father has gotten into walking/running, and as he's upped his fitness level, he is getting into the calculations, so I thought he would like using the Garmin.

Gayle :: have fun at the park!

OK, gotta get ready for class! Enjoy your day!
Cathy :)

Hi Ladies:) Another hot, sweaty cheetah here. Funny day yesterday, thank goodness I got 8k run in early 'cause the humidity blew in very quickly afterwards. Today I'll do some B-Max2 step and ubx2. I have to admit that I'm disappointed that the crew for the new workouts is the same. I really would like a taller background exerciser to watch form on moves where they touch the step 'line taps...' my levers are way longer and just don't do what their's do. Ah well...:) Gotta be careful, summer mode has got me a little lax in my eating, watched a movie with the Girls last night and enjoyed pretzels and Nutella a bit too muchx( :9 :p

Sunny, live kickboxing classes are awesome. I've done a bit of Muay tai, great way to get some animosities out}(

Cathy, your excitement regarding your new toy comes through loud and clear...enjoy!!! Funny how adjustments can resonate in so many different ways on different days.

Wendy, have a great workout! I'm curious as to why Itri has you so nervous (I have no clue what the workout is:)) Let us know how you survived}(

Gayle, enjoy your busy day!

Judy, hope you stay cool through these temps! I admire you're methodical approach to running. I just lace up and GO! I should try to step back and focus on things like HR and speed. How are you enjoying your new BBQ?

Better go work it!

Take Care
Laurie

Whoops, Jess and Amy's posts snuck in there w/out me seeing. Gotta make it quick - clock is tickin! *lol*

Jess :: yes, I am loving this rotation!! Glad you are having fun with the VBS.

Amy :: Get the Garmin, girl! You will love it!!

ETA: Laurie!!! :) NUTELLA! That was a mainstay of my childhood!! :D I remember seeing your posts requesting a tall exerciser in the next set. Sorry they couldn't work it out.

Good morning cheetahs

Sunny...Sounds like a very interesting kickbox class last night. Enjoy your bootcamp and treading classes today.

Cathy...Homework already? Must be tons of info. Wow, June to Nov is a long time to wait for results. Congrats on the 305!! And you get it very soon. I bet you love it and yes it is great not wearing 2 watches. I have wanted to do some renovations here for a long time. Can't wait to get the flooring in, I really like the color. Good job with Yoga, and I am with you on workouts that are chaptered well. Good job with the KPC/L&G premix...:)

Wendy..good job getting the PT exam mailed off. I hope you find out soon. I love the superset premix in GSC&T. Glad the tat is healing up. Now we know about all your tats!! I know I will love the laminate flooring. The old vinyl we have is just awful anymore. Enjoy iTri and GS BS&B.

Gayle..have fun at the amusement park.

Judy..LOVE my Garmin. I wanted a GPS/Heart rate monitor so I got the Forerunner 305 (like the one Cathy will be getting today). You can download all your runs online at a couple of sites and I really like keeping my info like that instead of on written logs.

Amy...good job with all of Kickmax! Yes, my recovery is for a week. Basically the recovery is not using heavy weights. You should read up on the Garmins. They are very cool watches. I'll be going on my 1st Road Trip this summer!!

Laurie...Enjoy your BM2 workout today. I have been trying to run earlier here too...summers are always scorchers!

Jess..I will have to try Lowmax with a med ball, sounds fun. Good job on 5 miles and the walking lunges today. I know moving the fridge for the new floor will be a pain, but I am sure it will work out. My DH and I have watched a few videos online also, which should help.

Jackie...The flooring was a great deal, we saved $80! Could you be suffering from allergies? I do like the S&H series. Good workout.

I will be doing P90X Core Syn and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning ladies!

Amy - Good job on Kick Max!! Congratulations on your marriage! Have fun on your honeymoon. Good run today!

Wendy - Let's hope you will get results back from your exam in less than 4-6 weeks. I remember when I was certified to be an aerobics instructor back in the day, everything was over and done in one day. You had the certification in your hand when you left the training. Needless to say, I didn't keep the certification up to date. Glad you're doing the race just for sheer pleasure and increasing your mileage.

Sunny - Never heard of muay thai KB. Sounds like a great class. Enjoy your classes today.

Cathy - Homework? You sound like the kids when they say the teacher gave me homework over the holidays. :) I know you will handle it fine. Wow, November is a long time to wait for results. You will love the 305! Don't you just love that Prime shipping?

Gayle - Enjoy your day at the amusement park.

Judy - I have the Garmin 305 and love it. I still don't know how to use all of the features yet but it's fun learning. I really love it for my races.

Laurie - Enjoy your workout today. Maybe Cathe has a hard time finding background exercisers who can dedicate the time it takes to get the workouts made. It would be nice to see some different faces but knowing me, I'd probably miss the old faces. LOL!!

Jess - Great job on the 5 miles! Have fun with VBS.

Carole - I do suffer from seasonal allergies, usually hay fever from Sept - Nov. Guess it could be starting early. I started taking my Clarinex and I took some Benadryl last night before bed. Slept a lot better. Stuffiness not as bad today. You're doing Core Syn and a 4 mile run??? You go girl and have fun!!

I did an IFIT workout for an easy 4 mile run, 20 minutes on the elliptical and a 10 minute stretch.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Jackie

Hello (again) ladies,

I have major DOMS from yesterday's workout!!}(

amy- if you want lowmax you can PM me. I have it and no longer use it.

wendy- glad that tat is healing. i was absolutely not an athlete, ever. i tried playing softball once and sucked...lol. i owe my form and alot of my knowledge from my cathe workouts. let me know what you think of the itri. you should get the other one that is 80 mins. it also has some sculpting!!

jackie- did you do your ifit workout on your TM?

laurie- i really enjoyed the class. my dh better not get out of line, lol}( :p

jess- i have been enjoying trying/learning new things. yes, i am truly considering a tri. it's a mini/sprint, lol. are you still doing one?

cathy- yea! for speedy deliveries. did you get the 305 from amazon? i want to get one. maybe the 201. i just need to track my distance.

judy- i thought about get that nike thingy. thanks for your comments, saved me some $$$.

carole- are you do a p90x rotation?

gayle- i was happy to read yesterday you are doing great! you know in your heart when you've made the right decision. i will tell you when i was pg with my first ds, i was supposed to get married to the father and everytime he mentioned it i literally had heart palputations (sp?) well once we broke up i realized it was God's way of telling me not to marry that man. he is crazy and i would have been miserable. it was a hard decision to leave someone when you are pg but i am happy that i did because i am married to the greatest dh on earth who is the bestest daddy in the world! best of luck to you.

i finally had one taker for my treading class...;o)

ttyl...:)

I ended up doing RS first combo, then the finished combos from 2, 3 and the challenge then added StepBlast Challenge...good mix, lots of choreography and intensity...FUN! I did CTX upper body split HEAVY!! My arms are noodley with DOMS and I like it}(

Cathy, I love the KPC/LG mix! Nutella is a dangerous thing! I don't know if it's a European thing but when I was a kid I remember Dutch and German kids being so blessed with 'chocolate sandwiches' while I choked down my bologna:+

Jess! Awesome job on your run! Isn't it a wonderful feeling to be getting your running legs back!! Makes us all the more grateful for what we can do:)

Amy, a honeymoon with DH sounds fabulous!

Carole, LowMax with the medball really freshens the workout up! I had to tinker with it a few times to find what works for me. I use the 8# for most but my 4# for the more dynamic blasts. Hope you had a good run!

Jackie, so what kind of classes did you used to teach? I never taught aerobics but did teach BodyPump, BodyFlow (yoga pilates tai chi) and straight up yoga. I really miss it and hope to get back to it one day.

Sunny, lol at the DH comment:7. You were very smart to listen to your heart with DS1's Dad, nice that you found out that good things are worth waiting for:)

Later Ladies

Take Care
Laurie

Good Afternoon Ladies!

ITri #8 was FABULOUS! I didn't get to use a spin bike for the cycling section but I still loved it! I made sure I was challenged through out the work out but did not push TOO hard in any one section so I was able to make it through the entire work out. The hardest part was transitioning from the bike back to the tm at the end. YIKES, talk about feeling like you can't even WALK much less RUN! LOL I admit to walking it for about 5 mins during part of that last tm section but overall I think I did good! I'm so happy!:+ }( :D

I'm up for GSBS&B here in a few. I thought of doing weights early this morning before hitting the gym since I prefer to do weights before cardio these days but sometimes if it's gotta be too early then it just doesn't happen that way! Oh well, I'll live, right? :p

Now on to some personals before I tackle BS&B timesaver....

Cathy: I'm sorry, I don't even have a Garmin 201! LOL I have the friggin' 101!!!! That's like the ancient version, ey? :p

Gayle: I know you are long gone from here and havin' fun with the kids by now! What a day you picked to go! Atleast you are playing in water!!!!:+

Judy: So the Nike thing didn't work? That stinks. You should check out all of the Garmins online and see which one offers the options you like best. I have the basic basic one and that's good enough for me as I don't run outdoors too often but since you do, you may want an upgraded version.:)

Amy: Nice work with the 45 min run girl! WTG! You are fitting in well here. You are a natural born Cheetah! ;)

Laurie: ITri is an ITrain work out that is 70 mins long and has you go from the TM to the elliptical to the bike and back to the TM. It's crazy but it was fun! I think I was more afraid of it's length then anything else. I don't often do cardio work outs that go beyond 45 minutes these days.

Jess: I have one more pic of my tat to take once it's healed up completely and then I'll post it for you to see along with my other 2. Probably end of this week or beginning of next will be the "big unvailing". LOL

Carole: Core Syn today, ey? Better you then me! :p That's a tough work out. Have fun!

Jackie: There are still things you can get certed for in one day by going to a class. I think that's how Sunny got certed for turbo kick!

Sunny: I loved ITri but I think I am going to try Tread n Tush next b4 I get another ITri. I keep looking at it but keep avoiding it since I am doing these at the gym and 1)don't want to look dumb during the sculpting part and 2)don't want to lose the tm I am using if I have to get off of it to do the sculpting section but I can't stand it anymore. I'm gonna give it a shot anyway!}( So how did your classes go today? Tell us about them!}(

Okay, I'm off to do weights now before I decide to take a nap instead!:p

Ya know, my legs *already* hurt a bit from doing ITri this morning and I have to do GS Legs tomorrow!!!! YIKES!

BBL!

The BS&B timesaver is done and ofcourse I added in some pull ups. I just couldn't resist!:p

I am showered and have eaten and played a bit...Now it's time for some housework before DS gets up from his nap. I have about 30 mins and counting....:7

BBL!

Sunny - Yay for the DOMS! I did IFIT on my TM. There wasn't a whole lot of thinking involved and sometimes I like that. Just let the TM do the work. Glad you made the right decision with marriage. It's nice to find just the right person.

Laurie - Nice mish mosh today and DOMS is just an added benefit. I only taught aebobics in late 80's and that was before step became popular. I didn't have to pass an exam. Just had to attend the all day training. I've had people ask me to teach classes but I didn't want to take on that responsibility without being certified.

Wendy - Glad you like iTri. Makes the workout more fun going from equipment to equipment. I forgot PT is much more involved but it would be nice if the turn around time was faster. Will keep my fingers crossed for you still. What other certs would you be interested in. Hope your legs survive GS Legs tomorrow.

Cathy - How was class today?

Shelly - Where are you?

I'm about to call it a day. It's been kind of quiet around here today.

Later,

Jackie

Afternoon, cheetahs :) Took a little nap this afternoon and am feeling refreshed.

Carole :: the homework isn’t major…so far, each night, we are being given short writing assignments related to one of the four portfolios that we’ll have to complete by the end of March…This is just a four-day class which provides support about the entire certification process, which *overall* will involve a lot of reading, a lot of writing and analysis, A LOT of forms, and very detailed and specific instructions on how to complete each of the four portfolios. It’s one of those things where there’s so much to do, you don’t even really know where to start. So these support classes have been terrific…Thank you ~ love, love, love the 305 already! I feel like I was wearing a Flavor Flav-sized clock strapped to my wrist before this! *LOL* Oh, and I’ll be doing a lot more of the KPC/LG premixes, thanks to you!! How did I miss this?? Great tip!

Jackie :: I know, I do sound like one of the kids re: the homework. :D I am even worse when it comes to snow days. *lol*…the 305 rocks!!! I am going to fool with it later and get the basics down. I do like the shipping deal through Prime, but I probably will not keep the membership after the trial period. I sure have been keeping those Amazon people busy lately. *lol* With free shipping, I find I prefer the ease of online shopping over in-store. Glad you’re not feeling as stuffy today. Nothing worse than a cold or a bad bout of allergies in the summertime.

Sunny :: yes, the 305 was $219 on Amazon. I saw it for about $211 (incl. shipping) on pricegrabber, but I’d never heard of the company before and decided to play it safe for 8 bucks more. The 201 is what I had. If you don’t care about having a HRM built-in or being able to link up to the PC, it’s great. It’s got a nice, large screen, and generally, I get very good satellite reception.

Laurie :: sounds like an intense workout! I have CTX u/b split on this week’s rotation, too. Have never done it before, so now I know I can look forward to some good DOMS!!…Cracking up about the Nutella thing…I believe it is a European thing…We always had it when we were kids.

Wendy :: I usually do not upgrade anything until it lays down and dies. *lol* My students used to laugh at my old cell phone b/c it was the black Motorola StarTac, which they apparently found antiquated at the time. I used it until it took its last breath - I say if it's functioning and meets your needs, who cares if it's not the latest model? I'm big on getting my money's worth...BUT I have to admit, I’ve upgraded a few not-so-cheap gadgets in the past year (cell phone, iPod, and now Garmin) when there was nothing wrong w/ them. Somehow or another, I justified it in my mind. *lol*

Have a great night, ladies!
