Back again for a few greetings:
Gayle -- I think we were posting around the same time. It sounds like you are making good decisions. The great thing about running is you are free to choose what you do. Thanks for reminding me of your race date. I marked it down.
Judy-- that's great about your DD's improvement and attitude. Enjoying the sport and feeling engaged with it is most important. Your workout sounds great today. How is your hip? I'm impressed you can do the drop-set push-ups and an interval bike ride.
Carole -- thanks for the good luck wishes for week o' the parties. Have a good run today. I really felt good after working my legs yesterday. It's not always the case, so i appreciate it when it happens.
Susan-- glad you are feeling better about eating. It's a journey...LOL. Good luck on your 10K. I bet you'll do great. You sound ready and if I could run a half marathon, you can, too. I'm sure of it. When I started training for the half, my longest run was only 7 miles. You are already at 8.5 -- it's only 4.5 more miles and you build up to it gradually.
Susan & Judy -- I have the book Elaine mentioned and I thought it was excellent. I also have Sports Nutrition for the Endurance Athlete by monique ryan and the Nancy Clark book on Sports Nutrition and Lisa Dorfman's book on sports nutrition for the vegeatrian athlete. I found the books helpful to understand how to fuel and refuel for running vs. thinking just about diet.
Hi Adri-- have a good day and enjoy your last days of vacation before you head back to school. My son in 8th grade (your age) had mixed feelings about going back today, excited to see friends, but sorry summer is coming to an end.
Jess-- your daughter sounds adorable. Sorry about the rain this morning. But it sounds like you are primed and ready for your marathon.
Hi Cathy, Katrina (smart decision about the shoes), and all other cheetahs yet to check in.
