Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs~

I'm playing by ear today but am thinking of a run after school and possibly yoga tonight. But if it's too damn cold again, it'll be KPC instead. :)

Have a great day, everyone! Will be back to catch up with you all later.

-Cathy :)

Good Morning Cathy and the rest of the Cheetah bunch!:)

I have to work this morning but I hope to make up my missed run as soon as my shift is over. I have GSC&T on tap as well but I think I will be holding off on that until tmrw.

Hope everyone has a good day! I'll be back!:)

Hi Friends~

Wendy- Did you start Wrap Max? Have a good TM run :)

Cathy- It might be cold in your area. It is here. KPC is a real calorie blaster IMO. I can even get DOMS in my back if I concentrate on the punches!

Carole- It is nice to catch up with friends. did you get the rest of your WO in later?

Nice to ~see~ you Barb! I used to volunteer in the hospitality rooms often, but I never had to make bacon! One time I missed my DD's event because I couldn't leave the room! (Such is the way of swim meets. wait two or more hours and miss your kids 1 minute event!)

Today will be a circuit and a tenis match. LIC or DM.

Good morning all! Nothing like starting the day off right by communicating with the fabulous cheetahs! I'm at work now but will have tonight off :) After my nap I'll go for a 7.5 mile hilly run around my neightborhood. Later today I'll do a weight workout....not sure what yet.

Christine- Thanks for the input about posting a pic here. Actually according to Carole you can do the same thing using picturetrail and I do have an account there. But I have to wait to get home before I try! I deal alot with blood sugar problems. In the ICU mainly with DKA, diabetic ketoacidosis, etc. So.... what do you want to know?

Jess- Today is the day you've scheduled a run isn't it? From your reports with your PT I bet it will go well for you. Hope you've got your new washer/dryer by now! I bet your DH would love p90x! The men in this series use DBs that go up to 50#!!! So I guess it would depend on your DH what weights you would need to get.

Carole- Thanks so much for the help with pics! I'll try it when I get home so you can all get a laugh!

Cathy- Hope the weather cooperates and lets you get in a run. Otherwise, KPC is a great alternative to kick up a sweat with! Isn't DM a fantastic workout? It is by far my favorite of the new bunch.

Laura- Oh dear..... sounds like you've got a family crisis with your brother!!!! I hope we can help relieve some stress for you :)

Wendy- Yesterday I did the Ultracardioblast premix of DM where the drill cardio segments are all repeated and done twice! I was going to run 6 miles later but was too pooped by this workout:eek: and ended up only running 3. I'll make up for it today:) Hope you can manage to get in a good run yourself today!

Judy- Do you do your tennis match before your workouts or after? I would think it would be a bit hard to play well after doing DM or LIC!!! Your stamina is amazing regardless!

Okay my dears.... duty calls. I'll check back later!

ShellyC

Good Morning Cheetahs! It’s B&G and GS Tri’s today for me.

Cathy – Enjoy your workout – hopefully it’s warm enough for a run!

Wendy - Enjoy your run, too! Hate when work gets in the way of a good workout!

Judy –

Shelly – that makes more sense then with the picture trail – and you can keep it there for prosperity! :p Enjoy your run. Has it warmed up there yet? Oh, my blood sugar came back at 102 when I had my thyroid tested. I had not been fasting, though. Is this something I should really worry about? My doc is getting me retested.

*Waves hello to all who follow* I’ll be back!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...as I have been doing more endurance type weights it felt good to really lift yesterday with GS! As a Seinfeld fan, check out this link to a video that was made from clips of the show about Kramers recent tirade: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid271543886?bctid=335844850

Laura...thank you! This is a week of what I am planning for my rotation:
M-GS Chest, Sho, back, abs of choice and an Elliptical workout
T-GS legs, 5-6 mile run
W-GS Bi's and Tri's, abs and a 5 mile run
TH-B&G standing, Elliptical, PUB shoulders and Yoga or Pilates
F-PUB back,abs and a 5 mile run
SA-Kickbox workout, PUB bi's & tri's, B&G floor legs.
SU- long run

Wendy..hope you get your run in after work.

Judy...yes I did get in the rest of my workout. Enjoy your circuit and tennis today..:)

Shelly...have fun with your hilly run. Can't wait to see your funny pic, I have had my share of them!!

Christine...B&G is just a great workout isn't it? I'll be doing the GS's for a few weeks, I have missed weights. Enjoy the killer GS tri workout.

So, I'll be doing GS legs and a 5-6 mile run. Then at 10 AM, I have a massage...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/r/dance.gif[/img]

Have a good day...:)

Hey Ladies:) I'm just getting ready to go and do the bulk of my Christmas shopping this morning. I got the new Amy Bento workouts yesterday and did her Hi/Lo Xtreme this a.m. I'm always wishing that Cathe had more hi lo to chose from so I'm quite happy with the workout. I was down at the spa last night for a mini celebration with the staff and new owners, chocolate and champagne, it was lovely to see everyone and very festive. I'm down there for a haircut later today (thank God, I'm pretty shaggy these days) and I have appointments booked on Saturday!

Elaine, congrats on your time and performance at the no pressure marathon, I love that you run for the joy of running, it's a beautiful thing!

Cathy, it's cold here too, we have our first snow on the ground this morning. I doubt if there's even 2 inches but I couldn't peel my 12 y.o. from the radio this morning as she was hoping beyond hope that it would be a snow day.....wrong again honey!:+

Wendy, good luck fitting your workout in, somedays it's tough to find that opportunity! I haven't done GSC&T in a while, I'm sore just thinking about it!:p

Judy, enjoy your tennis match, sounds like fun!

Shelly, that ultracardioblast sounds wicked. It's funny the cardio step section with the 'knee off the side-2 jacks' is such a simple routine but I love it, the music matches the movements perfectly. I hope you get a good restful nap so you can dig into your run!

Christine, enjoy your workout, I guess it's not enough for you to have the lower body burn, you gotta get some upper body in there too!?!:+

Carole, your legs are gonna love getting massaged after what you have in store for them this morning!! Enjoy!

I'd better get SHOPPING!!!}( :7

Take Care
Laurie

My goodness it's been a long time since I could chat with the Cheetahs.
Laurie, I hate to shop. I love to buy!:) Have fun.
Elaine. Wow. You are an inspiration. I need to enjoy my runs more.
Congratulations!
Cathy, Laurie and Judy, it's cold here. At least I think it's cold. We should get to 20 degrees today so I'll run today. I do get slow in the cold especially if it's windy off of the lake. I use a cream for my face called Warm Skin. It helps with the chapped skin. Now if there was a cure for spider veins besides moving to a warmer climate.
Carole. I can only do a 10th of your rotation but I learn so much of how to do a balanced workout. I just started back in with my GS series too. I missed the weights as well. I did GS legs yesterday and I think it was a lot easier after doing the new series last month, at least I wasn't sore.
Sunny, I had sciatica with foot drop 6 years ago. I had two herniated disks in my lower back. I saw my Dr. and he sent me to a specialist, they did a MRI. I was supposed to get PT but I missed my first appt. and couldn't get another appt. for ages. (I took DS out of his car seat when he was asleep, turned and just about died but I didn't drop DS.)I didn't like the odds of surgery (50/50) so I did Chiropratic and the Firms. I had to stop running then and I didn't really start back up until last Spring. I wish you gentle healing.
Christine, I just saw the photo you posted. How beautiful!
I'm running out of posting space so I have to sign off. I want to say hi to everyone.
Shelly, congratulations on your 5k! What a great present to yourself.

Good afternoon cheetahs,

cathy- you can't go wrong with a run or KPC!!

wendy- i hope you are able to fit in your run today. are you sure the personals police won't come after me...:p

judy- have fun with your tennis match and whichever workout you choose. of course you know they are both goodies!!

shelly- what kind of work do you do, if you don't mind me asking?

christine- B & g and tri's...you are a baaaaaaaad girl. in a good way:D }(

carole- i feel the same as you. doesn't gs feel good after doing endurance workouts for awhile. i really missed lifting heavier. seems like alot of cheetahs are using the gymstyle series this month!!

this morning's workout was GS BSB's. I did the 36 min timesaver and then just because i felt the need to jump i tacked on the non-treadmill cardio portion of one of barry's bootcamps. 20 mins of plyos and abs! overall a great workout today:D

elaine- congratulations again on your fabolous race! so glad to see you really enjoyed yourself. because isn't that what it is all about!!

susan- so far yesterday i ate totally clean!!!! whooohooo

hello to all of the cheetahs to follow.

i hope everyone is having a great tuesday:D

Whoops forgot one more question.
Jess where can you get the PX series? What are they? I want to get my DH doing some at home workouts and he won't do the Cathe ones.
Colleen

Judy: No wrapmax yet...I haven't received the last of my online orders for Christmas Eve yet. Soon though...I hope!

Shelly: A work out called "ULTRA" anything scares me! Better you than me!:p

Christine: Have fun with B&G! I'll be doing the DOMS dance for ya!}( I'm a bit sore from GS legs!:+

Carole: Aaaaah, a massage. Enjoy it! How often do you get them?

Laurie: How nice-the celebration at the spa. Is it for the Holidays or a celebration for "a new beginning" so to speak for the spa? Hope you got alot accomplished on your shopping trip today!

Sunny: Sounds like you had a hoppin' good time this morning with your work out! Am I corny, or what!? LMAO! :p

Colleen: Are you talking about P90X? It's sold at www.beachbody.com. I just got it myself. Go check it out!:)

Good morning everyone! My intention yesterday was to catch up on everything going on with you all then coming back for personals. I don't know where the time went yesterday though!

I'm feeling a bit of post marathon let down today. I know I am going to miss the focus that the training provided and feel sad about ath. But I need to take it easy and go slow for a while to avoid an injury set back. I don't have a workout planned for today. I will probably get on my elliptical for a bit then stretch real good. Tomorrow I will try either one of my Jari Love workouts or a new Cathe.

Now for some overdue personals:

Wendy, So, so glad that you are not worried about missing your run yesterday! Regardless of how I made running the marathon on Sunday feel, I assure you that I am still sore today! I hope you are able to do the workout you are aiming for.

Judy, I will now have the opportunity to try the new Cathe's too but after hearing the reports from you all I think I need to wait a day or two more. I'm not a northern runner but when the temperatures are lower than what I am used to then it does take longer to warm up and ease into my typical pace. I don't think I would ever get there in 24 degree weather! OMG! You ladies who run in that sort of cold have my unwavering admiration!

Susan, I hope that you can get your back problem fixed soon! I have been sidelined with an injury so I do know how you feel.

Barb, I wasn't thinking about the vegan twist but rather the one of the Jewish woman cooking pork! (You are Jewish, right?) When my DH goes out of town I don't sleep well so I am exhausted when he has an extended trip and am so happy to see him just so I can get a good
night of sleep!

Shelly, I just knew you'd place in your division! Congratulations are again in order for you! Aren't you coming up on your longest runs in the next couple of weeks before your taper? How is your training going? Feeling good about it?

Christine, So by 5 day split do you mean working one body part a day? I have never tried that because I think it might not be enough! Have you done it before and if so what kinds of gains or other did you see?

Jess, The pictures that the picture takers at the marathon took won't be ready until the 6th. And your advice is good.....I do need to take it easy before I hit anything hard. I'm a little bit sore today and probably won't go for a run until this weekend unless I
feel too tired or even a hint of soreness. I feel that if I don't back off for a bit then I will end up injured and I know you know that is no fun! How is your IT band these days? Oh! And my DH got me an early b'day present....He got me The Stick so I'm thinking that I don't need the foam roller now. What do you think? Are they pretty much the same concept?

Carole, My intention is to focus on endurance weights for a while. I've been concentrating on the Gym Styles and Pyramids and am ready to change it up. Did focusing on the endurance affect the amount you can lift?

Cathy, I hope it's not too cold for you to run this afternoon because I don't like KPC. I've tried to do it two or three times and I'm just not coordinated enough to do it! I keep telling myself that I will give it another try. Someday.....

Laurie, I do not like hi-low. At all. I used to do it years ago with my Kathy Smith and Jane Fonda videos but I much prefer step. The only way I do hi-low these days is if there is a short segment in a circuit workout as in Circuit Max. I'm almost done with my
Christmas shopping! A first for me having it nearly done this early!

Laura, My eating has not been the greatest either. But you know what? I always struggle this time of year so I can't help you but I can be bad with you!

Sunny, I hope being so busy this time of year does not cause any undue stress! Don't worry about keeping up with personals as I am sure we all know that it gets difficult from time to time.

Hi,Cocob!

I hope I didn't miss anything important or any other Cheetahs. If I did point it out to me please!

Have a great day! I'll talk to you all later.

Wendy thanks, P90X. I keep thinking PT109 or something like that. I give my age away!
Off to run. Colleen

*Limps into forums* Holy Cannoli I always seem to forget how B&G kicks my B! Those last presses, that go one forever, and ever… I was crying by the end! Then between the DOMs from GS Chest and the fresh pain from GS Tri’s, along with the leg pain of B&G – the drive to work was interesting! Oddly, I love it!!

Carole – Wow! Awesome rotation! I’m enjoying lifting heavier, too. Hope you’re enjoying your massage!

Laurie – Chocolate and Champagne? Two of my favorite things! How nice! Oh, I’m doing a 5 day split with 2 days of legs – so yeah, I’m burning! It feels good!

Colleen – I think most of us can only do a 10th of Carole’s rotations! Glad you enjoyed the photo!

Sunny – oh yeah – lifting heavy is really nice right now. Although B&G is not really heavy, but it kicked my butt anyway!!

Wendy – thank you for doing the dance for me – not sure I can do it myself right now! :+

Elaine – I do know what you mean about the post event let down. Nothing really to train for, yet. Of course, you have the Boston Marathon on the horizon! I find doing a 5 day split gives me more time to really focus on the muscles, instead of trying to conserve strength for the next set. I actually enjoy it more, and I’m not rushed to get everything in in a day. I’ll do this for December, then in January, I’ll do something different.

Well, I’m enjoying some oatmeal right now and playing at work. I guess it’s about to get really busy, so I’d better go. I REALLY need to start Christmas shopping! I’m not normally this much of a procrastinator!

ACK! I wasn't able to run after work today for 2 reasons...first of all I left my IPOD at home and we all know how TM running w/o music can be! Well, I was CONSIDERING doing it anyway but then DS got UBER cranky so I decided not to torture my co-worker by leaving her with my ultra-crankin' son while I worked out so I came home instead. x(

I've decided that I really should get GSC&T done today but I'm sooo not feelin' it. I need to do it SOON or it'll be too late. ARGHHH! I am probably going to go to the gym tonight and take a kickbox class.

Elaine: Knowing that you are sore assures me that you are atleast PART human!;) So when is Boston???

Christine: Sounds like you don't need me to do the DOMS dance for you girl! I think you have it all under control missy! }(

Well I guess it's time to FORCE myself to do GSC&T so I'll be back later!

Hellooooo Cheetahs!! I have my NEW washer & dryer FINALLY!!! They just delivered it. Of course we have the wrong size hose! I will have to wait until my dh can fix it tonight so I *still* can't start laundry!!! Oh well, it's here at least!!

I did GS C & T this morning, then CoreMax #2 segment. I'm going to do some pilates & foam roller this afternoon. It's getting sooo much better. I was going to run today, but the roads are still really slick & I just didn't want to chance injuring myself. It's not worth it!! I'm finally feeling no pain in my leg, so I'm just going to give myself a little more time. I've made it this long, I may as well heal COMPLETELY.

I might be doing the Hussle up the Hancock. My friend Melissa had an MRI done (she's been having back pain) & she has a herniated disc (bulging) in her central/middle back and it is compressing on her left side. She's been referred to a spine specialist! So... she asked if I wanted her spot for the Hussle. I don't know yet what I'll decide to do.

Allison's watching Frosty & then it'll be naptime. I've got to go mop up my floor from the snow/ pine needles the delivery men dragged in & get a few things done around here.

I'll be back in a bit!!

Elaine ~ Melissa has the stick. It's kind of similar to the foam roller, but smaller. Same principle though, you can use it to massage your bands, tendons, & muscles. Yes, please take it easy for a bit.

Yep, do it!! I did it this morning so we can have DOMS together again!!! ;-) I know I've said it before, but I just looove C & T!!

Hi again Cheetahs! Quicky post here as I am about to head out the door for my 7 miler. It's warmed up to the 30s now! woohooo! It's been 10-20 deg. routinely in the morning! I wouldn't mind so much if we would just get some snow with it! I updated my picture trail account for anyone who is interested in seeing my ridiculous jingle bell pic. I'm wearing my baggy reindeer sweatchirt and my headband is decorated with bows. You cant tell from the pic but I'm also wearing a big bow on my butt:)

Christine- I have no idea off hand why your doc is repeating your blood glucose. 102 is a perfectly normal reading for being non-fasting. Maybe he thought it was fasting? Let me know.....I'm curious now! Feeling the DOMS big time now from B&G??? WTG!

Laurie- I have the Amy Bento "Advanced Step Challenge" workout and I love it. I'll check out this Hi-Lo one!

Carole- Enjoy your massage!!!! (color me green with envy)

Colleen- How nice to hear from you!!!! Good job with getting out there and braving the cold:7 Definitely go to beachbody.com and check out the p90x series!!!!

SunnyD- I work as the night Charge RN for the ICU units at our local hospital. I work 7p-7a. Typically around 0500 it is slow and I often have time to sneak a chat in with the early bird cheetahs!

Elaine- Hey there marathon champ!!!! I think trying out a new Cathe DVD is just the cure for post marathon let down!!! Cant wait to hear what you think of the new ones!!!! They ought to be a snap for you }(

Time to run!!!

ShellyC

Hey Cheetahs! Yesterday, I did PUB and Cardio Fusion. CF is a killer! Loved PUB. I have missed it so while I was following the Nov rotation. Today was LIC cardio and the abs. I was going to do L&G, another w/out that I miss but I am feeling tired w/a bit of a sore throat so I am gonna tackle it tomorrow. I think maybe I need a cardio free day so.. tomorrow I shall try. I had a run scheduled but oooooh it is cold here.

Cathy, I know what you mean about the cold. I think the wind is the worst. Enjoy the run or KPC.

Wendy enjoy the run!

Judy, Have fun with the tennis match and circuit!

Shelly 6 miles and that DM. Whew, I can't imagine. Good job on the 3. I don't think I would've made that!

Christine, Enjoy your w/outs. I am wondering if after Xmas, I should buy the GS's everyone seems to like them.

Carole enjoy your massage! Oh and your w/out too. LOL

Laurie, Have fun shopping! I am soooo relieved to be done. It is my first year for be done. I even have them all wrapped!!!!!

Coco, I have a great day!

SunnyD, Good job on the clean eating! Enjoy your day!

Elaine, Great job on the marathon. Sorry I am late giving congrats!

Jess, Glad you are happy with the new washer and dryer. Have a great day.

I was just wondering about the 1 body part a day. How much time do you spend on each part per day? Ok catch everyone later. Have a great rest of the day!
