:::CHEETAHS:::THURSDAY:::

3 mile tempo run done. :) Pecs are smartin' from BM2 yesterday.

Linda—I just sent out a wave of emails to friends, family, and close co-workers. The fundraising that went on at school was initiated by colleagues—those funds will actually be donated separately to Livestrong (not to my "credit") as per the super's directive. (They wanted to ensure that there would be no potential conflict of interest.)...Have you checked out the RW forums? They have some marathon-specific forums. I spent some time on there the week of our marathon, and it felt reassuring to read that other newbs were experiencing the same things. I'm getting really excited for you! I think that's the right attitude for a first marathon--finish, be safe, and have FUN. I can't wait til we are planning your next one (I hope it's Chicago!) :)

Dallas—Oh, that's funny—I did notice the "ho" earlier. :) Eh, no big deal forgetting the shoes. I left school on time, so all was good. But I think it will be helpful to get those runs in at school when we really get into the dead of winter. I'm thinkin' I'll do 3-4 miles two days a week and then do longer runs on the weekend.

OK, I *could* be doing school stuff, but I think not. :p I'm caught up enough to take a breather. Gonna go put the feet up and chill with some tabloids. Wish I had Posh's jacuzzi!

Dallas - I am hoping and praying we don't get it. I hope you guys don't, either! The flu is so scary! Thanks, regarding my training. We are hoping for around 5:00. It is flat, except for a hilly residential area. The weather is supposed to be 30-35 to start and the high is "supposed" to be 51. I know that could very well change, though! But thank God it won't be really hot and humid! Great job on your 4.6 miles and BBC!

Cathy - Yes, I get on RW forums most every day. I love it....but they kind of scare me because so many of them are so fast and serious about their times, etc. I know that there are some like me, too...so that is good. I have only posted a couple of times....mostly just "read" and "lurk" :) I do hope we can do Chicago together next year! I will check out the Livestrong!

Hi Cheetahs! Couldn't get on today from work. Don't know what the problem was. This will be a quickie.

Gloria - Hope you had a good run.

Cathy - How did the run go? Oh, I see you were late getting it in. Shoes! Of all things to forget, huh?

Wendi - All of your talk about chili inspired me to make some over the weekend. Came in handy today for dinner because there's a chill in the air.

Wendy - Glad Joey is better.

Carole - The bootay is sore and seems to be getting worse as the day goes on.

Dallas - Good job getting in the extra miles!

Posh - Glad you were able to get a run in outside. The Jacuzzi before work has got to be relaxing. Would probably put me to sleep.

Christine - Hope that cold doesn't take hold. Happy Birthday to DH!

Linda - Good job on the 6 miles!

Shelly - I think the race is similar to a RockNRoll. I've read that they have people in costumes, music and it ends in the minor league baseball stadium. Have a good run tomorrow.

I did iTread #24 and got in a 5 mile pace run and did Yoga for Hips & Thigs. Felt good.

Have a good night.

Hi Cheetahs!

There were some computer problems this morning and afternoon. Firefox would not let me onto this Cathe site, but I could get onto other web sites. It is just as well since the day was full.

Yesterday I ended up doing AOS KettleBell, and went up in weight! Today was a nice 4 miler outside and some yoga stretches on my own.

DH is in Boston for a heart valve conference. He is having dinner with DS21 tonight. He will be back tomorrow, but DD17 and I will be in Saratoga,NY for a Regatta. The good news is that there is no hockey this weekend. DS15 did well at Physical Therapy yesterday. Please keep him in your thoughts. We need him healthy for the Chicago tournament over Halloween weekend!

These personal will be brief I apologize for any inadvertent omissions.

Shelly- Thank You! the package arrived !

Wendy- I hope Joey in on the mend!

Dallas- good job on getting in the mileage

Wendi- How was bowling? It is interesting that early runs affect your hamstrings more.

Christine- no worries on lack of personals. Your having a busy time!

Karen- Are you and DD on the mend?

Linda- I have you and Shelly in my thoughts for your races!

Cathy- I have forgotten key equipment too! Good job staying on task after school and getting that run done. I like you plan of two weekday short runs after school and a longer run on weekends. My Mondays are my 'regrouping' day so that is my long run and reorganize/ clean day.

HI Carole and Jackie and Posh!

Hi Girls.

I ordered a 5x7 print from my 18 miler and will get one of Shelly and I that DH took printed out as well. Perhaps I can find a double frame for them. :)

Judy: No worries on the short personals. Life gets in the way. We all know how it is and certainly understand. Yes, Joey is on the mend. :)

Jackie: A run followed by yoga? Sounds great. That's my plan for saturday. :)

Dallas: I never log out of the forums. The only time I get logged out is when DH "cleans up" the computer. The work out manager will log you out after a certain amount of time if you aren't using it but the forums won't.

Cathy: If I were a more relaxed/calm traveler then I would probably give more serious thought to traveling for my first marathon. I'd rather be safe then sorry though. Once I get this first experience under my belt, if I want to do it again, I may not be so against traveling. That coupled with the fact that I'd still have a chance to get in via the charity route, there may be a chance I could be trading in my cheerleaders uniform for a bib and a chip come October 09! I have to wait and see! :)

Linda: I've poked around the RW forums too. You are right. So many are fast, experienced runners. It's intimidating!

All caught up. It's late and I'm pooped. Off to bed with me.

Good Night!:)
