::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday

happy thursday to cathy!

i was so tired yesterday that i fell asleep at 7:40!!! it felt so good and i feel pretty rested.

it is cold here. i just turned the heat way up. i like to sleep with it pretty cool (set on about 67) but i'm cold in the morning.

i really enjoyed PUB and IMAX2 yesterday. i have some chect doms from PUB. i want to try that new iTread (#24) today. i wish today was a weight day because i am up so early that i could do an extra long workout. maybe i will throw in something else.

well, i need to go read everyone's post. i just feel like i've been so out of it lately. i don't think i've ever been this busy at work and have been coming home emotionally exhausted. not to mention the DF crap. i was so tired, i didn't even answer my phone last night. i'm just not sure how i feel abut his whole reaction to the MIL/wedding thing. i am trying to think of someone i could ask to go to LV with me so i don't have to go alone. we'll see...

i wasa talking to my best friend yesterday and trying to explain about you guys and how we all lift up and support each other. i'm not sure she got it. to be honoest, i probably wouldn't have either before. i had never been on a forum of any kind. she is an exerciser and is going to check out the boards. then, at least she'll see what i am talking about. you guys are the bomb!!! truly inspirations!!!

anyway, i am off to read what you lovely ladies have been up to. i'll be back.

yay! it's friday-eve!!! :D

Hi

Cathy- Travel safe!

Lorie- It can be hard for even "exercise friends" to understand our Cathe friendships. I have mentioned the Cathe site to a few friends over the years but they don't see the magic in it like we do. Anyway this Cheetah group is really something special. ((((( group hug))))) So did you decide to do the new iTread today?

This morning is the first Pilates class, but first I need to do Chest, Back, Bis and Tris. ( perhaps a shorter version than 4DS is in order) I skipped the chest and back work yesterday. There was too much going on at home. (At least the 4 miler was great!)

Edit for typo

judy-i didi do the new iTread today. it was okay. it didn't seem as interval-ish, but i guess you can't really push too, too hard when you are doing it for an hour. there were 5 sprints but they only went up to 8.0. one sprint in phase 1, then 4 towards the end of phase 2. it was nice and flat, which i enjoyed. she did seem to take a lot more walk breaks. it wasn't bad at all, just not my favorite. i did 6.5 miles.

ETA:i am going to the zoo today for a behind the scenes tour. i am chaperoning the seventh graders. i am really excited because i have yet to see the baby panda. she is sooooo cute!

Good Morning:)

Lets see how much I can squeeze in here before my boss shows up:)

LAst night when I got home I did BM2 premix Bootcamp. It was a good workout but I think I am ready for some tougher cardio today:) My mom will be gone home and DH has hockey so I may be able to get a run in on the TM. Its to cold and dark to go outside in the night time, atleast thats what I tell myself. I was also asleep last night by 10:30, the alarm went off at 6 and I still wasn't ready to get up.
I also ordered the new workouts last night:) Finally did it now I can't wait to get them!

Cathy** Are you already for your trip!? Thanks for getting us started today!

Lorie** Not many people in the "outside" world would get us:) Sometimes I feel embarassed when DH mentions the fact that I talk to my cathe friends. He knows that people around here keep me motivated...lol so he isn't making fun of me! I use to get so mad in the mornings when my running partner would show up with her coffee and cut into my cathe time! My blood use to boil!

Judy** Enjoy your class. I bet you will be sore later if you get your UB work in with the Pilates!!!

Alright, that about sums it up. I should be able to get back later for another chat. Its so much easier to catch up when I keep returning!!!
Lori:)

Good morning ladies!

Well, my workout plan has been shot to $#!t for the next bunch of days, as well as my clean eating challenge yesterday x(...I'm sorry Christine, let me have it, I deserve it! It was so freaking cold here yesterday that we bagged all the riding and went to have Chinese. I can usually do pretty well there but I went all out...hot and sour soup, chicken lo mein (and I ate some white rice), plus I made a pretty good dent in those fried noodle things. I don't even like those things...GRRRRR! Plus, I had to bag my run for this morning because today is going to be ridiculously busy and I've got to get to work early. We're taking my pony out to Fairfield, CT for someone to try for a year lease (would rather have her sold but I need the money so badly right now that I'll take anything) and looking at a couple of other ponies in Westport...why I don't know *rolls eyes*. We certainly don't need any more mouths to feed at the farm. Then I've got to fly home to get out the door for bowling tonight. I hate days like this!!!

So there will be no workout today, or tomorrow (I'm always too wiped on Friday to get moving in the am), or Saturday on account of another horse show. I hate that I finally have a couple of good, solid days and get into a great groove and then have to ditch it all and start over again. It's getting to be incredibly frustrating. Okay, I'm done now. Thanks for letting me vent, guys!

Cathy - I'm sure I've missed you but I just wanted to wish you a safe trip and enjoy every darned minute, girl!!! You've earned it!!

Judy - I'm glad you enjoyed your run yesterday! Count me in as another bean lover...LOL that you have to sneal them in for your DH.

Lori - Were able to squeeze in a workout last night? If I were you, I might have opted for a few zzzzz's instead :p. I'm glad that work is turning out to be a bit of a diversion for you...sometimes we need that.

Wendy - Hee hee, I think you had some psychic link to the blog announcement yesterday with your P90X "craving"! How did your training with BF go last night?

Kristi - I have to agree with you about the shorter daylight hours...they kill me in the winter. I was in bed by 6:30 last night because my internal clock said "it's dark, go to sleep!" I'm glad you got a little extra shut eye yesterday, it sounds like you needed it.

Carole - A KB mish-mosh sounds like fun...what did you end up doing? I'm another one who couldn't figure out what Ranch style beans were... But, boy, does that sound yummy!

Shelly - Actually, we're *very* close to getting a deal done on that troublesome mare...fingers and every other appendage are crossed on that one!!!! This is a mare that came in for training during the summer and this will be only her third show and we're stepping her up into a larger, more competitive division. She really is quite a nice horse, just not the easiest ride *lol*. I hope your appt. yesterday wasn't too unpleasant...you and I have similar feelings about the dentist!

Susan - I've found that if I don't stay *very* on track with my eating I will go off the deep end. I don't have a "stop, you're full" switch like most normal people. The sheer amount of food that I can put away is mind boggling! Your workout yesterday looked like a fun one!

Christine - I get like you and get antsy when I have a "quiet" morning. It looks like you had a great workout yesterday! I will be good today....today's menu is identical to what I *should* have eaten yesterday, mostly because it's still packed from yesterday...hangs head in shame! I need to follow your lead and stay on track! Mmmm, sushi! I haven't done that in awhile :9. Too funny about the Ryka's arriving...you know you won't be able to resist those puppies!

Lorie - Great workout yesterday! I find that, too, that people who aren't *here* don't quite get how much the support and motivation from everyone here can really make a difference. I can't tell you how thankful I've been to have found all of you wonderful gals!!!

Well, I've got to get my arse in gear! I probably won't see you guys until tomorrow morning. Have a great Friday everyone!!!

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!:)

OMG the new series! HOLY CR@P! I am soooo going to start saving my pennies and yes, I am STILL onboard for the new X stuff as well that is supposed to be released next month!}(

So I had decided last night that I would get up early and bang out B&G leg blast premix + abs before heading to the gym for a run. Well, that plan went kablooey as I didn't get my rump outta bed in time. x( As a result, I'm not sure what I'll do now....???

It's about time to get the little guy out of bed so I'll stop here and come back for personals once he's occupied with something after breakfast.

Hope everyone is having a nice morning!

Good morning cheetahfriends! I'm up early to go to a staff meeting.... sigh. But first a cheetahfix to get me going;-) When I get home my plan is for an 8 mile hilly run here in my neighborhood.Later I hope to get in some core work but there's lots on the agenda today. DH and I are going shopping for a party we're having on Sat.

Cathy- Have fun!!! You deserve it:7 :7 Stay safe!

Lorie- Let me know how you like that new iTread. I haven't purchased any new ones in a while. This one sounds intriguing.
That Baby Panda is just way off the cuteness scale!!! This is a great group we have here for sure!!!

Judy- Have fun at your Pilates class today. My one attempt at that so far wasn't too good I must admit. I just didn't feel I got anything out of it. I'll be curious to here what you think.

Lori- YOu will love the new workouts!! Hope you get in a good TM run later. Do you use the iTreads?

Wendi- Hey, reality check here!!! A few days of missed workouts and an indulgent meal isn't going to have much (or any) impact on a fit gal like you!!! You are such a whirlwind of activity even when you are not working out! Hope it goes well for you with your pony leasing.

Wendy- The new STS series does sound mind boggling! It sounds like they won't be filming til the start of next year so we wont be getting our hands on these workouts til Feb I'm guessing at earliest.
It'll give you a chance to really give the new X series a go around.

Ooops, time has run out on me.... gotta move here.
Hi to all the other cheetahs!

ShellyC

Good morning Cheethas!

I enjoyed last night with DD14 and Sushi. Ate too much Sushi, but darn was it good!!! Today is a rest day. It’s much needed. I have to admit that I’ve been sleeping like a log this week with the S&H rotation!

Cathy – Have a blast!!! I’ll be thinking of you in the Bahamas! You deserve it girl!

Lorie – I like sleeping in the cold, too, but it sure makes getting out from under the warm covers tough! You did two of my favorite workouts yesterday! P Hope you can find someone to go to Vegas with you. And I agree with you about the Cathe boards – people just don’t understand, especially about how special the Cheetahs are. We have a wonderful group of women here. Have fun at the zoo!!! My DD14 wants to be a zoo keeper, so we go often. I really enjoy it. Don’t you just want to give that cutie panda baby a big ole smooch?

Judy – Enjoy your workout – sounds like a good killer one. Let us know what you think of the pilates class!

Lori – Enjoy your cardio today – hope you get a run in! You’ll love the new workouts! Can’t wait to hear what you think.

Wendi – Oh don’t beat yourself up. One bad day does not a failure make – and I’m not going to beat you up as I’ve done it myself (too many times to count!). I’m not a big fan of ultra busy days either. It has to be frustrating to never really know from one week to the next what your schedule will be! I cannot even imagine. Just get back on track today. And I am taking a rest day today – I have to – S&H is tough and my body needs a rest. I’ll give it to it. Hope the day goes better than anticipated.

Wendy – I’m sooo with you! Even DD14 is interested. She’s doing weight lifting in school and is thrilled with the changes in her body, so she wants to continue (YAY!!!) but likes the idea of a more personalize approach. Good luck deciding what to do today!

Shelly – Oh joy, a meeting! How fun! *NOT* :+ Hope you survive it okay. Ohh, a party! Now party planning IS fun! Enjoy the day with DH and planning! I’m guessing March/April for the new series actually – I think it’s going to be complicated to edit and put together, so I think it will take a while. We’ll see – hope you’re right! :+

Hugs to all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...have a GREAT time!!! I bet working out on the ship could be fun. That delivery smiley is way cute!!

Lorie...with what you have been through you deserve to feel out of sorts!! I know also what you mean about your friends "not getting" us Catheites. You should have seen the faces on my friends when I told them I was flying back to NJ (for the RT) to meet Cathe and the Catheites I had met here!! They thought I was NUTS! That baby Panda is soooooo cute!

Judy...let us know how you liked the Pilates class.

Shelly...you are right, LV is getting much closer!! Hope you enjoyed your hour on the EXT yesterday. Enjoy your 8 mile hilly run today.

Lori...congrats on the lowest weight since HS! Way to go ordering the new workouts, I know you will like them.

Wendi...so sorry about the hectic day. But with all your running around I think it'll be a workout in itself. I just did the Combos from KM and then added on the KB from 4DS. It was a nice 40 min cardio workout.

Wendy...doesn't the new series look awesome!!

Susan...yes the weather has been awesome, although I am constantly confused on what month it is!!! This cannot be Nov! We don't have many earthquakes up here, I felt a lot more when I lived in L.A. I think Slo-Mo is definitely worth getting. The different exercise are just also fun, and fun means you will do it. Hope your little DD feels better today.

Kristi...I did have some soup for lunch yesterday...I think it might have gotten hotter!

Christine...good job with the SJP step and S&H workout. Yes, you need a crock pot! I just did the combos from KM and then the 4DS KB. It was about 40 mins. Which Ryka's did you get? Enjoy your well deserved rest day today.

Amy...nice to see you...:)

re: Ranch Style beans, I had no clue what they were either, I just bought 2 cans that said "Ranch Style Beans, here is a description: Ranch Style Beans are made with a delicious blend of spices that creates a unique, bold flavor synonymous with authentic Southwestern cookin'. Ranch Style Beans are great with just about anything: try them when grilling steaks, making Mexican food, or serving a favorite family recipe. Ranch Style Beans are hearty and true!

I am planning on a 4 mile run and the leg workout from 4DS.

I will be back to post some floor pics...:)

WOW!!! The floors look wonderful! I love my hardwood floors - so much easier to keep clean, especially with the wondermutts! Enjoy them! It does look fabulous!!!

Thanks Christine....:)...Yes, they seem to be much easier to keep clean, and even cleaning them is easy!! Now I can always hear Sadie sneaking into the kitchen stealing the cat food...:)

Another checkin!:) Im doing good at keeping up when I am at work. God forbid I should actually do work:+ Another co-worker finished up today. Thats two in the last week. Well, he actually let one girl go and this one left on her own. I probably didn't have to go through the extent I went to get my job back...he probably would have been asking me to come back anyway.

Wendi** Its hard when you do really good for a couple of days and things go haywire. I use to hate that. I don't go to far these days so everything remains the same. Now, if we were to take a little weekend trip my eating would probably be bad, not out of control but I would definitly indulge a little. Hopefully the next few days won't be as bad as you are expecting!

Wendy** Not working today? I think the new workouts are gonna kick butt as well. It will probably be just what people need to get ready for tank top season again.I couldn't muster the energy to get out of bed to workout either. Im hoping to fit something in later, I did it last night so I can do it again tonight.

Carole** The floor looks nice! Thanks for the description of the beans. Ill have to look the next time I go to the store!

Christine** Glad to hear you had a good night with DD. Thats half the battle when they are at the age where they don't like hanging with their moms anymore.

Shelly** Your run sounds perfect! Im not sure when I will get out for a run again. Its suppose to be raning tomorrow. Maybe things will look up!:)

Was that everyone? I guess i will have to take another look just to make sure!!
Lori:)

>>>Now I can always hear Sadie sneaking into the kitchen stealing the cat food... <<<

Carole- that is so funny! Your floors look fantastic and so inviting . I can just imagine that Taco soup simmering in your kitchen now! I should share pictures someday....

Pilates class Review:
First of all I liked the instructor right off the bat. She was not long and lean but short and muscular. She was a bit easy on us as there were some ladies who were not quite used to pilates (or any regular exercise) But she provided modifications to make it more challenging. The class was more of a blend of Pilates/yoga and other exercises. She will take it up a level next week. I liked her analogies to help visualize what muscles to contract. In previous classes the leg work did nothing for me. But she asked us to squeeze an imaginary kick ball between our legs during the legs series and it made a difference. Her core work was excellent.

Next week she is doing a complimentary core upper body class right after the pilates class, (on a stability ball) I will stay for it.

Oh, it was a bad idea to do 4DS chest, Back Bis & Tris right before class. I struggled through the triceps push ups in the pilates class. I will have to rework my plan for next week.

This lady also teaches kick boxing.....

This class was at our golf course gym and it is 3 minutes down the street from me. Guess what ? The trainer my son works with (The guy who makes him do lunges and squats with heavy weights and hockey skates on) He is doing spin classes at our gym! Right now they are full, but I am on a waiting list. If I knew he was the teacher, I would have signed up right away.

OK sorry to be so one sided here!

I have to add that the news on the blog is interesting. I will be pre ordering, although, I would still like to see the kick boxing series be produced also and sooner rather than later.

Hey everyone!

I am off work, sick, today. It is nice to be able to check in during the day again!

Lori - I "used" to be able to keep up better, until they cut off my "cathe" at work x( That makes me so mad! I can still get on other sites, but Cathe is "blocked". I do not get itx( Sorry...rant over! ;-) Glad you ordered the new workouts! hope you like them as much as I do! They are great!

Cathy - Have fun and enjoy yourself! Get some sun for me!

Lorie - My friends just kind of glaze over when I tell them about my friends on my running checkin. They just look at me like I am nuts
:+ Are you still going to go to Vegas with your DF? Oh my gosh! The panda is just toooo cute! Makes me want to pick it up and give it a hug!

Judy - Enjoy the pilates class! Sounds great! Let us know what you think about it!

Carole - The floors look great! They are beautiful! Enjoy your run and legwork. So, are you alternating 4DS's and SloMo's? I am enjoying SloMo ( still have to do BT&C to complete them this week), but I am really REALLY missing 4DS!!

Christine - Glad you enjoyed your dinner with DD14! For some reason, I just cannot bring myself to try sushi. :+ I love S&H and really need to do it more often!

Shelly - Enjoy your hill run and shopping for the party! Hope the meeting isn't too bad! ;-)

Wendi - Wow! You are going to be busy the next couple of day! Sorry you won't get to get your workouts in, but chock it up as some good recovery time for your body! But I understand how you feel! I, too, get frustrated when my schedule gets disrupted!

Wendy - Are you talking about 4 Day Split? You haven't ordered that one? Wonder when the P90X Masters will come out? Maybe Santa will bring them to you!

Well, I don't believe I am going to be getting a workout in. Still not sure, but I took off today and tomorrow to go to a ballgame tonight and then on to visit my SD's. DH and I are both sick, so we didn't go out of town...and we did not go to work. So...I seriously doubt if I am going to be able to workout!

Hi to anyone I may have missed or that check in later!

Linda

Judy - I see that you posted while I was typing! LOL...glad you enjoyed your pilates class! That would be tough to do tricep pushups after all of the upper body weight work! Thanks for the update!

Hmmm - I just remembered I didn't get to post yesterday. My workout yesterday was a 4 mile run and SloMo Legs and the abs from Firm Vol. I. I liked SloMo Legs a lot, but I had to go lighter on some exercises, as Carole had advised....and also changed a few positions on how she held the bar in some moves. It was tough!

Hello cheetahs! Back from my meeting (Loooooongx( ) and my run.
I can't believe this is November. I was out running in short sleeves and felt warm!

Christine- I was being very optimistic with my guess of February for the new series. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it ended up not being available til spring. I have to admit I was a tad disappointed at this news. I was really looking forward to the boxing series, oh well. If it's a Cathe workout it's worth the money and I'll definitely be preordering.

Carole- WOW:eek:   You and your DH did an awesome job with that floor!! It looks professionally installed! I'm green with jealousy and coveting your floor;-) :p Hope you got in a good run today!

Lori- working days now? Do you alternate and work both shifts?
Hope the weather will cooperate and let you get in a run soon.

Judy- That instructor sounds like a good one. I'll be interested in how you feel tomorrow though;-) So you want to take a spin class from the trainor from hell?}(

Linda- Sorry to hear you are home sick!! Sending you healing vibes!

There's a racket outside right now.... getting our septic tank drained..... oh joy!

tata
