Good morning, cheetahs! :)

I will be getting home late tonight, so I've split up my w/out. Just did 4DS KB and will do either Chest & Back tonight or SB&C.

I posted late (for me) last night, so I'm caught up with personals and will just wish everyone a GREAT day & beastly workouts! :7

BBL tonight!

Good morning Cathy! I sure hope today is a better day for you then the hell zone you've been enduring lately:eek: How's the back feeling today?

It's been pretty mellow for me at work tonight:) which is just as well since I've had a week off and need some time to get the old brain in gear! My boss has asked me to participate in some photo shoots for our new open heart surgery programx( :( I HATE stuff like that!! I'm trying to think of a diplomatic way to say no.
Well, enough boring work babble. For today I'll be trying out the 4DS lower body circuit premix. I'll also be getting in some time on the EXT :7

Hope everyone has a terrific day and I'll try to check back in later.

ShellyC

Good Morning!:)

How is everyone!? I have to say, this is a tough bunch to keep up with! LOL Lots of chatting going on but I will be able to keep up when I get back to work cause my job can be rather boring!

Today is a run for me. I don't know how long but I will have to leave within the next hour or so b/c we are calling for rain and I don't want to get caught in that! But at the same time I have to wait a little while b/c we had frost last night and the road seems alittle glassy!

My boss called yesterday to tell me that I will be returning to work on the 2nd,3rd,and 4th of Nov! ALL NIGHT SHIFTS! I have a feeling thats going to be hard! At the same time I am glad to be going back to nights b/c I will get to see DS in the afternoon and DH will have him all weekend so I won't need a sitter. This also means I will work the following Wed and Thurs. My mom said she would come in for that but I decided to send DS to the sitters in the morning , to get use to her, and then my mom can watch him in the afternoon. Im also not going back on my own side of the schedule for the time being but I am hoping that will change. When I work my Wed day shift, I will ask my boss how long this is for. I want to go back to my own shift! On my own side I was off for Christmas, now it looks like I might be working Christmas! Im wondering if this is payback for calling the labour board. Either way, Im not going to act as if anything is bothering me. I will work wherever he puts me and stop being paranoid that he is out to get me!

Cathy, sounds like you have a good workout planned for the day! Have a good day at work! Hopefully it won't be to stessful!!!

Christine, glad to hear you found your workouts! LOL Sounds like you have some sneaky people in your house. They would do something like that around here as well.

Shelly, maybe your boss just ask the best looking women to be in the pic???? Do it! haha It may be the beginning of your modeling career!!! That marathon does sound fun with all you Cheetah friends. How long is a marathon anyway? 26 miles?

Wendi, I think I enjoy food shopping just b/c I like to spend money! Kills me when my bill is over $300 though and thats happened a few times lately!

Kristi, hope you little one feels better soon!

Wendy, glad to hear you got a good workout in!!! Nothing worse then waiting for an injury to heal!

Lorie, I would DIE if I couldn't sleep! Twice this week I have been asleep before 10 and I have to tell ya, I feel like a million bucks!!! Sorry! Didn't mean to rub it in! LOL Do you ever take anything to help you sleep?

Alright, thats it for me. I will be back later to report my workout!!

Lori:)

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!

I have lots of personals to catch up on today! LOL I will be eating breakfast, drinking java and typing. Once I am done with that, it's off to do 4DS leg work. YEOWZAS, I'm afraid!}( Those low plane lunges really scare me! 5# DB's have never looked so good!:p My plan is to also get to the gym for a run a little later.

Cathy: Sorry work it crazy and stressful. Hope it calms down soon for you. Glad to hear the back is on the mend.

Sunny: Glad you enjoyed the new KB work out. Can't wait to hear what your final decision about school is!

Wendi: If Shelly can mind my HM pic I'll let her guide you to it but I'm sure not gonna help!:7

Christine: The HM was not chipped. I have never been in a chipped race. Oh well. Glad you found your work outs and are undoubtedly enjoying them!

Carole: This Heed sports drink is supposed to help the cramping as well. With so many products to choose from...it makes it so hard sometimes!

Jackie: Good for you doing your first HM! I can't wait to read your report! I'm sure you will do wonderful!

Shelly: The race was nice. Boardwalk, road, park and back. Not that I paid much attention to the scenery. I should have though...Lord knows I was not wizzing by so fast that I didn't have time to see anything!LOL :p Have fun with that premix today! Sounds like a good one!

Lorie: Hope you slept better last night!

Lori: So you are starting back at work soon I see. Congrats on getting your job back. Hope everything works out for you as I know it's been a sticky situation to say the least.

Okay, I think I am pretty well caught up! Gotta get moving if I want to squeeze in leg day before DS gets up!

BBL girls!:)

Good morning Cheetahs! This will be a quick post, but I plan to BBL to catch up. Work should be pretty slow today so I should have time to come back and chat. (Let's hope I didn't jinx myself by saying that.)

DD is doing better. Her meds seem to be working. They must be pretty strong because she in only on them for 3-5 days. Anyway, I think today I will try to fit in a 2 mile run during lunch. My inlaws are coming in tomorrow for the weekend so I need to get some stuff ready so there won't be much time for a nice run, just short and sweet.

Lorie - I hope you were able to get a good night's sleep last night.

Lori - Good luck on the job front. I think you have a wonderful attitude toward your boss.

Wendy - Any more calls from your resumes you mailed off?

Waves to all Cheetahs! I'll be back later to catch up!!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I’m enjoying my nice comfy chair this morning, along with my tea. I’m feeling good today – thankfully. A lot of work crap going on and I’m very frustrated to say the least, but I think a good round of 4DSKB and some weight work – C&B or Legs or both – will make me feel better. Like everyone’s been saying, these workouts are incredibly filmed. LIS was a blast. KB looks like fun, too – have not had time to preview the others yet - may do a high impact workout tomorrow – we’ll see. The Achilles is feeling good right now – I want it to stay that way. LOL.

Cathy – Oh I hope your day is much better today girlfriend! I HATE days like that. Enjoy your workout!

Shelly – I would think you would be perfect for a photo shoot – but I can so understand why you would not want to be in one!! I don’t like things like that either. I hope you find a nice way to say no. :+ That circuit sounds interesting – let us know how it is.

Lori – yeah, we’re a chatty bunch! Enjoy your run! Frost? A crisp fall day for a run – how wonderful! Oh my – going back so soon? I hope you don’t have to work on Christmas – especially with your son! That would be so tough. DD14 told me that because the maids were there, she wanted to clean off the computer desk so she put them in the drawer and forgot about them – she wasn’t hiding them. What a comedy of errors! But all ended well.

Wendy – Ah, okay – that’s why the official results are not in yet. Even the 5k’s are chipped around here any longer. :p YES! I’m enjoying the workouts! I’m afraid of the 4DS leg work, too – I previewed it last night and hurt just watching! Cathe does those darned lunges with two 20# dumbbells!!!

Kristi – glad DD is doing better!!! Hope you get in a run and I hope you enjoy your inlaws this weekend!!

Well, time to replenish the tea and then get moving. Have a fabulous day everyone!!

Good morning ladies!

Well, you all talked me into it. I did 4DSKB and Legs (no core, yet...hopefully I'll be healed enough by next week) and had a blast! I *loved* the cardio and actually voiced my displeasure when she said "cool down" ;(. I've already got some great mish mosh ideas going in my head with KPC and KM...can't wait! However, I KNOW I'll be feeling this bad boy tomorrow in my tuchus...it's already had something to say }(! I was supposed to go for an easy 4 miler today but neither the weather nor my schedule was going to allow for that. In fact, this will probably be the last workout I get in before Sunday...oh well.

I've got some personals to catch up on. I wanted to check back in last night but ended up gutting my closet last night...so much fun to get rid of stuff that's too big :7!

Christine - WOOOOOHOOOOO...so glad you finally have your videos!!!! Doing the happy dance with you! IA that I would rather have done the completed LIS step through a couple of times. I'll check next time to see if it works within the count of the music. So, which one are you doing today?

Shelly - I can't wait to start trying out those premixes. They look like so much fun! I think I may have been more afraid of doing KB before all the riding that I have on tap the next couple of days. After doing it I think my fears are genuine J/K! I'm glad you had a mellow shift.

Kristi - It's good to hear from you. Sending {{{HUGS}}} to DD for a speedy recovery!

Wendy - So sorry you lost your post last night :-(. That is precisely why I do mine in Word then paste it here... I did it once with a long one and won't do that again! Yay that you were able to workout yesterday and you are not a weakling, darling!!! I have a terrible time with lying extensions, too. I think, anatomically, I just can't do that movement with a barbell. I don't have enough range of motion in my right wrist to allow me to even do that motion without ANY weight. I have to modify with DBs and hold them in a "hammer" position to do them at all and even then it's with rather light (8s)weight. I usually match Cathe's weight or go heavier on every other exercise, including other tricep work. Go figure *shrugs*. Oh, BTW, be very afraid of those low plane lunges!!!!

Lorie - You are a very BAD GIRL *slaps wrist*! Don't let it happen again lol J/K! Great run yesterday! Oh boy, I hope you enjoy Barry today and have a great time this weekend! I also hope you get some good sleep...you need it honey with all that you do. maybe you'll get to rest a little while in TN?

Cathy - I'm so sorry work has been so stressful lately {{{HUGS}}}. So glad you were able to relieve a little of it with 4DBC...I'm sure that did the trick! It sounds like you're, at least slightly, on the mend. I hope that clears up soon for you. Ooh, thanks for the restaurant tip...I will definitely keep have to try that out next time!

Lori - Yeah, we do tend to be pretty chatty...are you up for the challenge }(? J/K! I hope you are able to get that run in before the rain. I hope your new work schedule ends up being doable for you. I hope you don't have to work Christmas, though ;(! That is quite the food bill! I'm not sure what mine would look like if I did it in one chunk...I go every other day so the total seems a bit more manageable :p lol.

If it keeps raining I may have another short one today. One can only hope! I'm going to get spoiled by this! TTFN.

I'm done with the 4DS leg work out and I LOVED it! I went lighter then I normally would on most exercises. Gotta heavy it up next time!}( Those low plane lunges were interesting to say the least! LOL I used uber light weights and don't plan on heavying up until I get the balance issue resolved. I felt like I was gonna go over at the beginning of each round! I will also be staying pretty light with the calves for now...

Okay, gotta go get DS up and get ready to head for the gym!

BBL Ladies!:)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...so you were lifting heavy cement blocks?? Hope your back is feeling better today. Sounds like some tough work days for you. Glad BC helped you sweat out the stress...:)

Lori..hope you get in a run before the rain and definitely be careful on the frosty roads.

Wendy..I was a bit weak on some of the tri exercises. Especially the tri seated ext where she goes to 30lbs...YEOW!!! Have fun with the killer leg workout. I agree there are tons of sport drinks out there. I hope the Heed works out for you. I know most sport drinks have the electrolytes in them. The supplements I posted the link too are just something extra if you still experience cramping. So you didn't want to try 12 lbs for the low plane lunges...}(

Kristi...hey, send some of that rain to So Calif! Sorry about DD's bronchitis. Glad to hear the meds seem to be helping. Hope you have time for your 2 miler.

Jackie...I bet you will really like the new workouts when you try them out next week. Have a good time in NY.

Christine...well it seems it took some time but happy your found your new DVD's!...:)..Isn't that shoulder workout awesome! Sorry about the work crap. I am sure your workout will make you feel better. Glad to hear the achilles is feeling better too.

Wendi...I thought the same thing with the Bi & tri workout yesterday...what a great workout. Your dinner last night sounded wonderful...I love cilantro. I still have a bit of DOMS from that leg workout!

Shelly...the new trail sounded nice for your 16 miles. Good workout yesterday with the new series. I knew there was no way I could do the 30 lbs for the last overhead tricep ext! I did that part a lot lighter than Cathe. JC was great at the Vet. She even let him shave her belly so we could see if she had been spayed. He thought she was quite a friendly cat. Yes, the weight work in the new series is great!! Let me know how you liked the lower body circuit premix.

Lorie...if you felt good after 45 min, there is nothing wrong with adding on more. Just listen to your body...Have fun with Barry today.

Well I sure felt my legs during my run yesterday!! OMG I think I felt even more DOMS as the run went on!! It was tough. I loved the Bi-tri workout as I have always enjoy alternating each of those muscle groups. Might take me some time to get up to 30lbs for the seated exts though...wow!! I am planning on the new KB workout along with some more KB to make it longer and some of my own leg exercises plus GS floor legs and abs.

Have a great day...:)

Hey Girls,

Just got back from a 83 mins run. Burned 840 cals:) Gotta love it! LOL I wasn't in very good spirits before I went though. DS was yelling, nonstop for 90 mins, I guess his gums are bothering him. Anyway, in the middle of it all my running partner calls again! WTH? DH answers it but then decides to tell her that I am in the shower. Im like...great lie moron! What do I tell her now if she sees me out running? That I shower now before I run? Like shes gonna beleive that. Then he calls her back to tell her that he doesn't know where I am, he thought I was in the shower but Im gone out somewhere! Anyway, I took off. Did a different route, with hopes of avoiding her and her catching me in a lie so now I don't know how far I went. Probably 8.5 - 9 miles? I will clock it off today.

Wendy, glad you had a great workout! I hate legs though. The only workout my legs have been getting lately is running...Id rather run 10 miles then do one leg workout! LOL

Christine, so they weren't playing tricks on ya after all?! LOL Good thing Id say. They should know better to mess with a women and her workouts!

Kristi, glad to hear DD is feeling a little better!

Wendi, if I have to work christmas then thats all i can do about that I guess. Im preparing myself for the worst, and if something better happens then thats great!

Carole, enjoy your workout today! I didn't get DOMS until yesterday evening from my run and timesaver legs the day before. A little late setting in.

Must hit the shower. I have a chill now from sitting in wet clothes for 30 mins catching up on everyone.
BTW..does anyone else NOT eat before they run? If I am up early enough I will eat something but like today , I just didn't have time and I wasn't hungry (and to contray), so I didn't eat. If I eat, I get a stitch so Id rather not. Just wondering! Also does anyone else get grossed out with they are running and see people smoking or smell restaurants? I hate the smell of deep fried food when I am running. When Im not running..well, thats a different story! LOL

Lori

:)

Oh, KB and Legs is FUN! I really enjoyed it. Those low pulse lunges – holy OUCH Batman! The first one was fine and I thought, “Oh, these are not too bad!” Then the second one (not set – the left leg) I was moaning. Did not get time to get anything else in, but that’s fine. It was a great sweatfest! I LOVE it. DH came by while I was working out and said, “WOW! That’s High Def! Nice videos!”

Wendi – Did KB and Legs and core. Nice workout! I’m really liking these workouts. I can see some great mish moshes, too. I’m thinking if I want a really good 60 minute KB, just add on CTX KB as well.

Wendy – The low plane lunges are great!! I went with 20 pounders, but I think I’ll drop to 15’s. Have fun at the gym!

Carole – The workout did help! Hard to be upset when you’re feeling so good! Loved the leg workout. I also enjoyed the shoulder work. That was fun! Liked the core work at the end of legs – short but tough! I can’t believe you managed a run a day after that workout! I’d be saying “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!” with each step! :+

Lori – Sounds like a great run! I will eat before a longer run, but a short run, nah, I don’t. I don’t run past too many places where they deep fry food when I run, but I do pass the occasional smoker. It really ticks me off when someone is walking on the jogging path, smoking. I do not care to share that!

Have fun everyone. My co-worker is leaving today (her choice – and I understand it!) so we’re going to leave early and take her out for drinks. Should be fun.

Hey Girls.

I did a nice slow 20 minute recovery run at the gym this morning. It felt good. :)

Kristi: I only got the one response from a batch of about 8 resumes I sent out. I have many more gyms to send to but have been lazy about it so I haven't gotten another round out yet. ARGH. Glad your DD is on the mend!

Christine: Cathe uses 20 pounders on the low plane lunges!?!? YIKES! She doesn't mention the weight so I tried to read her DB's and thought I saw 12#. I was sure off the mark, ey? LOL

Wendi: Glad to know I'm not the only one who has trouble with lying tri extensions. I can only use 5# on them. Even 8's will make my elbows complain!x(

Carole: I went up to 20's on the o/h tri extensions where Cathe takes it to a 30 pounder. The 20 was enough for me, thank you very much! LOL Have fun with the new KB work out today. Hope you love it as much as everyone else does so far!:)

Lori: Nice run today! I eat before EVERY work out I do. Always have. I am just conditioned that way b/c I worked out after dinner for years.

Ok, time to grab lunch! BBL!:)

Wendi - nah, it's probably me who was off the mark! I thought I heard her say 20 pounds - but that's probably my wacko ears. I used them - but holy cow!

Oh, I wanted to add one more thing. I previewed 4DBC and I was pleasantly surprised. I am one of the few who do not like Drill Max - I think the drills are long and boring, so I was convinced that BC would be my least favorite of all of them. But the drills are short (1-2 minutes each) and very high energy and they look fun! I might have to break down and do it tomorrow!

Christine: You are my hero doing those low lunges with 20's! I was doin' them with 5's and I felt it!:7 BC IS alot of fun. What an intense work out too! I hope you enjoy it.

HI Cheetah Babes!

Lori- Workouts for me are done with out breakfast, except for a cup of coffee. I do hope you can have Christmas off. Working Christmas with little kids always gave me anxiety. And there is enough anxiety with the holidays as it is! DH will work next Christmas.

Carole- Do you love punishing your legs lady? I saw you are doing more legs today.

Christine, Shelly & Wendy- I did not hear Cathe say #20 for low pulse lunges. I think I chose #10's.

I have some mild chest DOMS and no tri DOMS, but I do have Bicep DOMS. I did go heavier with the barbell on the Biceps .

Kristi- good to read DD is heading in the right direction!

Shelly- Aw be a model. DH's partner did some pictures for our local community and he is all over the airport with pictures of him working in the Cath lab!

This morning was EXT with iClimb. it was my first iClimb! I added challenge 1 from CC2revised to make it a hour session. The workout finished up with 4DS abs (LIS) and some foam rolling.

Tomorrow DS and I are headed to Boston to see oldest DS @ Boston College and then up north to New Hampshire for him to play a few hockey games. DH will watch DD in her Regatta in Saratoga. We'll meet back home on Sunday sometime.

Wendy- Good job on doing the recovery run nice and easy.

Judy: What a full schedule of sporting events your family has going on this weekend. ENJOY! I am sure it will be nice to get back home on Sunday too though. :)

I forgot to tell y'all...I actually have DOMS in my biceps from the new work out! I don't often get that. YAY!}(

For some reason DS woke up from his nap waaay early and crying. He didn't want to go back to sleep so I told him he's got 30 minutes downstairs and then it's back up to try again. We shall see how hard he fights when 2:30 (30 mins) rolls around....

I got an email this afternoon about a 5k walk/run being held in my hometown on December 1st. It's where my BF still lives so I emailed her and told her we should do it and to ask the other gal she trains with as well. Well, to my surprise they are willing so it looks like it's a go! I told them I'd walk with them. Should be fun and it will be a welcome change after the 15k race I have tentatively scheduled for the weekend before! :)

Hi Cheetahs I hope you don't mind that I randomly drop in here. ;) Thought I should post this on a non-weekend since many folks aren't around on weekends! This is what I posted on Wendy's Half Marathon Day (aka last Sunday):

WORLD RUN DAY: so we each have to register at active.com. I recommend going through www.runday.com to get there as that seems simplest. The cost is $18 and you get a t-shirt.

From active.com, you will enter the distance you intend to run and the time you expect to run it in. I myself am thinking of 5-6 miles.

The only way I can see to make this relate to Cathe is the "dedication" section: when you register, you can post a message about your run. I think if we each say something about Cathe or our Cathe friends or something that might work? I'd love to hear your ideas.

I just think it's cool that we can all do a run somewhat simultaneously... I know I've had several runs that if I think of you cheetah gals I can make it through!

Let me know what you think we should put in that message box; the limit is 100 characters or something crazy like that.

(Sweaty) Hugs,

hi ladies! sorry i haven't had a moment to post today and don't have ANY time for personals (darn that thing called work!). i had a post this morning, but lost it and then had to get up and work out.

i do want to do that world run day!!!

anyway, today's workout was barry's chest and abs (darn that rich is soo cute!) and total body. good workout.

tomorrow is a run then off to tennessee for the weekend.

i will try to post again. go cheetahs!

I read the most amazing article in my Runner’s World magazine last night. It was about the running schedules that some of the Olympic marathon hopefuls keep on a weekly basis. The few they did a short bit on run 100 miles per WEEK. Oh my goodness. They also hold full time jobs, some have 2 jobs, and a family. Some run before and after work. It puts my schedule to shame for sure. They are so devoted. I wonder if the race will be televised. Maybe I should do some websurfing and find out. I would actually like to see it.

Amy – I’m glad to see you post. Ever since your post on Sunday I’ve been thinking about signing up, but just haven’t committed yet. DH will be out of town that week so my schedule might not be flexible enough to commit. However, I will keep this in mind and next weekend make a decision. It is a great idea, especially since there aren’t any races planned near me right now.

Cathy – I hope your day isn’t as hectic! Have a good 2nd half of your workout tonight. Is your back better?

Shelly – You should do the photo shoot. I’m sure you are photogenic. Maybe I will see your face on one of my company’s billboard. (We are a nationwide company.)

Lori – I hope you don’t have to work Christmas. Great job on your run this morning. BTW, regarding your running partner, you might have to bite the bullet and be upfront with her. Otherwise you might lose her as a friend if you keep dodging her.

Christine – I’m glad to hear your Achilles is doing better. YEAH you got your workouts! Glad to hear you are liking them!

Wendi – Thanks for the hugs for DD. Good job getting in your workout today. How are the ribs healing?

Carole – I wish I could send some rain their way. It is so awful so many people losing their homes. I hope your DOMS gets better. I see you are enjoying the new workouts.

Judy – You are one busy cheetah! Drive safely on your trips and have a great time. Good luck to DS & DD!!

Hey there Ladies!

I need some Cheetah oppinions here girls! This 15K race I have been entertaining the thought of doing on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend is described as "Scenic Country Roads and Trails-A Challenge for all Abilities". This is making me think some rough terrain and possibly hilly as well. Could be tougher then I bargain for! I am not sure if I should do it anyway or perhaps go for the race I did last year which was a 5 miler on Black Friday instead. Thoughts?
