::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday

Good afternoon ladies,

no time for personals just popped in to say HI!! and let you all know what i did today:)

i was supposed to run today but since we got some much needed rain i had to x- that. i also didn't feel like going to the gym so instead i did my all time favoritest step workout, IMAX2. it was great, esp since i hadn't done it in such a long time.

have a great remainder of the day everyone:D

Sunny: ITA that Imax 2 is a great work out! I rarely do it but I have fun when I do! Have a great evening girl!:)

Hello again fabulous cheetahs! I finished the bootcamp lowerbody premix.... awesome workout!! I also tacked on the calves workout from LIS.

Wendy- Wow, you are turning into a racing maniac there cutie pie!!
That Turkey Day race sounds fun to me!!! Okay, what my idea of fun is you can take with a huge grain of salt;-) But seriously, I think you are more than up to this and it will add a whole new dimension to your running. Yes, in general, trail running is harder... but alot more interesting and fun too! Also, you are still just aiming to finish so don't sweat it! I knew a lady at my recent Man against Horse race (25 miles up and down a mountain trail)
who had no real running background at all but was in good shape. She competed and walked the whole way and had a great time!!! It will NOT be too much for you I'm quite certain!! My thoughts for what they are worth.

Lori- Wow, that former running partner of yours sure is persistant!!
That's a shame she is putting a stress on your running lately and I sure hope she gets the picture soon and figures out you want to run by yourself for now. I'm with Wendy re: food and running. I very rarely run or work out on an empty stomach, even if it's only a little bit. It's especially important for runs lasting over an hour.
I think your 80+ minute run is stretching it a tad to not have any fuel source on board so to speak, but if you're feeling good I guess it works for ya! Great job on that run BTW! Oh yes, a marathon is 26.2 miles to be exact. So our Wendy's recent fabulous performance on the half marathon was 13.1 miles!

Kristi- so glad your DD is better today! Hope you got in a good run. Those olympic marathoners are awe inspiring aren't they??

Christine- What!! You don't like my all time fav DM????
I just love those straight out athletic nondancy drills}( I think Cathe really takes it to an art form with the 4DS bootcamp!! You'll love it!

Wendi- Great job with the DB Leg workout today. I think that's a great workout to get in a few days before your race... great prep!
I so look forward to hearing about your race!! Crossing my fingers for a nice rainy day for you!

Carole- Wow, JC let the vet shave her belly??? That is one MELLOW kitty you have!! I really loved the BC lower body circuit today!
I'm loving how heavy Cathe is going on this new series. I have to admit I do use the #30 dbs on the triceps extensions, but I certainly have no plans on going any heavier!! The KB cardio workout is nice but definitely too short. The really intense part only lasts about 2o minutes or so, but it will make a great part of a mish mosh!

Judy- I know this photo shoot is for future brochures, ads, etc and the thought of seeing my pic on these in the future is frankly making me nauseous! I know my boss is asking me to do this thinking it is a reward, but for me it is more like punishment!
BTW, on the low pulse lunges, Cathe does not say what weight she is using but I looked closely at the vid today since I was doing them and she is using #10 lb dbs which is what I used.... still quite challenging!

Lorie- Wow, another challenging double Barry day! I am VERY impressed! Hope you have a fun getaway!!

SunnyD- Hiya! Haven't done IMAX2 in quite a while! It's a classic!

I think I've babbled on enough here! Hope y'all have a fantastic remainder of the day!

Wendy – Nah, not a hero – a moron is more like it! I’ll see if I can walk tomorrow! Sounds like the 5k will be a blast. Hmm, a 15k over Scenic Country Roads and trails sounds nice. In Maryland that would probably mean trails like bike trails – not dirt trails. In California it would mean dirt heaven. See if you can find a map – sounds like a really pretty run. And you can walk if you have to – you’ve already proven yourself with the half!

Judy – It’s funny how different workouts affect people differently! Did you enjoy your iClimb? I like those. Have fun in Boston! Sounds like a great weekend you have planned!

Amy – I won’t be home on the 11th. I’m bummed – sounds like fun. Let me know when you’re up for a hike. I’d love to see you again!

Lorie – I hate when work gets in the way of fun! Jeesh! :p Sounds like you’ll have a nice weekend!

Kristi – I have a friend who is an ultra marathoner. He works full time, has a family – although his kids are older, and volunteers for Search and Rescue. He’ll get up really early and run 80 miles once a week. A 20 miler is like a 3 miler for the rest of us. Amazing man. Of course he’s about 5’3 and weighs 100 pounds dripping wet. Nicest guy you’d ever hope to meet.

Sunny – Oh I enjoy IMAX 2! It’s just a fun workout! Glad you had a good time!

Shelly – I love PlyoMax and other drills like that, but for some reason I never clicked with Drill Max. I’ll try it again. :+ KB IS to short – the extended warm up goes well with the leg work, but I wish she would “get to it” a bit earlier. But, you’re right – great for mish moshing! Cannot wait to do BC tomorrow.

I went home over lunch (it is DEAD here today) and ended up doing HIS. Not sure what I think about this. I like complex choreography, but the combos were so short that just as I got into them, she moved on. I’ll have to do it again, but I definitely like LIS better. It’s funny because the one I thought I would like most (HIS) I like least so far, and the one I thought I’d like least (BC) is the one I think I’ll like most. *shrugs* Gotta love surprises!

wendy-why not try it? you don't have to run the whole thing. if the hills are too much, walk them! i would go for it. it's something new and different.

Hey girls!

Im just waiting for a couple of gals friends to come over and watch Greys...and have some snacks!:9 Im so tired, i haven't stopped much all day and DS's screaming his really giving me a headache. He is gone to bed now so its peaceful here now! LOL

I read up on personnals but will comment on them tomorow!.

Just wanted to let you know that I do still do things with my running partner on a friend basis. I still hang out with her from time to time and I do answer the phone when I am not planning a run:) I just avoid her on the days when I am running! LOL We got together a couple of weekends ago actually and I have to call her tomorrow to tell her there is some stuff here belong to her. She doesn't mention running when we are together or the lack there of, she just calls when she is ready to go. The other part of the reason I don't answer the phone is b/c when you get her on the phone, you can't get her off! So you will never get anywhere! A couple of yrs ago she knew my schedule to a "t" and would show up every morning with her coffee. That was a little to much and I would get irriated cause at that time my morning coffee was me and Cathe board time. She use to come over for a chat before a run and then run and chat...kinda ran out of stuff to talk about. As much as I do love my friends, I also need "me" time...and my morning time was my me time...and still is:) And its not just her, I would get irratated if it were ANY of my friends visiting every moring. Just wanted to clarify.

Be back in the morning!!!

LOri:)

Hi, cheetahs!

Got home from work about an hour ago and needed some decompression time on the computer before I tackle SC&C.

Thanks for the good wishes re: my work. Sorry to be ambiguous about it, but I just can't post details. It's a pretty serious situation that involves me directly. It started a few weeks ago and has now kicked into high gear w/ some new developments this week. My stomach has just been in knots over it the past few days. And whereas other people might *stop* eating in a stressful situation, it has made me go into total binge mode. Not good, I guess, but at least I'm still working out.

Movin' on to personals...and thinkin' happy thoughts about my cheetahs :)

Shelly :: My back is feeling much better today, thanks!…I think I am getting back to normal…I wouldn’t think you’d shy away from the photo shoot…You always look so confident in your post-race photos.

Lori :: yes, we are chatty ~ now you know why I just couldn’t hang with the WW group! I can imagine night shift will be a tough adjustment, but that’s great you’ll still get to spend time with DS…Usually I do eat breakfast before a run; occasionally I do not. I only get grossed out by the smell of skunk roadkill.

Christine :: Hope you had a better day at work today…I definitely enjoyed letting out some steam with KB this morning!! Funny, I was thinking of CTX KB as well for a great add-on…I do like DM, but I think BC is more fun. It flies by.

Wendi :: I usually use dumbbells for lying extensions, too. Actually, I’ve gotten away from the barbell and use the DBs almost exclusively. It rained all day here, too. Hope you scored another short day.

Carole :: Yes, I was helping my father move the blocks. Won’t be attempting THAT again…ooh, I’m a cilantro lover, too!…I was able to use 25#s for the seated ext, to my own surprise.

Wendy :: that’s great that BF & your other client agreed to do a 5K!…I used to like to do the same races, so I could try to better my times, but the 15K sounds like an interesting challenge.

Kristi :: My back is doing much better today, thanks!

Hi Judy, Amy G, Lorie, Sunny, and anyone else dropping in!

Have a great night!

OK, change of plan for me. I am just finishing up some schoolwork now and am no longer in the mood to do SC&C -- or anything. Am trying to avoid another late night. So, I'll be goin' with relatively early shuteye and an AM workout instead. On that note, GN!
