:::Cheetahs:::Thursday

Good morning all:

Well, DH's birthday supper out was really good, but I ate too much and definitely not the right stuff either x( . But, today is a new day and I've revamped my workout rotation and eating plan - so we start fresh!!

I didn't feel so good last night when I got to bed. I'm waiting for DH to wake and see how he feels, I hope we didn't have bad food.:(

Today after work I'm getting ready for a rummage sale at a friend's house, DS has football pictures and then it's off to the in-laws for another birthday supper.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Marcia.

Marcia - It sounds like you have a full day ahead of you. Have a good one. I hope you start to feel better.

Jess - Welcome back! I noticed you had been MIA. Glad your internet problems are fixed.

SunnyD - Where are you? Probably working hard, like usual. Thinking of you girl!

Cathy - My birthday is Sept. 15th.

Today will probably be a 3 mile run. I was going to do a CC, but I don't feel like intervals today.

I'll try to BBL to catch up. Waves to all cheetahs!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Cathy - thanks for the warm welcome back! I appreciate it!

Marcia - hope you're feeling better! I know if I eat the wrong foods, I feel horrible that night, so maybe it's simply that. I have my fingers crossed. Glad DH's birthday was good!

Kristi - Enjoy your run!

I'm in for Pure Strength Chest Shoulders and Tri's today. Might get in a light spin as well - we'll see. I'm not going to push the cardio today.

Enjoy everyone!

Christine - My goodness girl you are up early! I'm really glad you are back too. I've missed seeing your posts. How's Jimmy and training for you HM going? Enjoy PS CS&T and spinning, if you choose to do so.

Good morning, ladies!

Christine---just look at that cute pic (avatar)! Isn't he a cutey? Looks so innocent...lol!

I was up really late with company last night, till 2:45, but I still managed to get up at 6:30 this morning for my workout. I'm sure it will catch up with me later! LOL This morning was GS Chest & Tris. I'm shaking now!

BBL

Gayle

G'morning Cheetahs!! Thanks for the welcome back! It's sooo slow using dial up, but I should be back up on DSL by next Wed!

Had an awesome 4.5 mile run + 200 walking lunges this morning. We've recruited another neighbor, so now there are 4 of us running together at 5AM. Her dh said to watch out because we're *hard core*. LOL Ended up doing MM y'day, hadn't done it in a while & I'm not doing any heavy lifting this week to get ready for P90X.

Laura ~ You had asked about P90X, and it's a 90 day extreme fitness program by Tony Horton. You can check it out at http://www.beachbody.com & click on P90X. Lots of ladies here have done it & I did one round of it in April. I was thrilled w/ my progress and am starting round 2 on Monday. And welcome to the Cheetahs! As for my intro, I'm Jess, started running a few years ago and have done 2 half marathons and 1 full marathon. I've had a few injuries (IT band, achilles tendonitis, and plantar fasciitis) so I don't run as much as I used to but love Cathe for her step & kickboxing!! I just discovered Cathe last March and had since acquired quite a few of her workouts.

Taking the girls to the pool & we're having company here later this afternoon. My brother & SIL are here from TX, so they're coming along w/ my other brother Scot, Mom, Aunt, & cousin. We're going to eat tonight at our favorite Italian place, should be lots of fun.

Have a great day, Cheetahs!

Marcia – I hope you feel better. Our anniversary dinner was at this beautiful old mansion. The food was really good but the service, for the outlandish prices we paid, was really poor. All in all we still had a great time.

Kristi- I am just heading out the door for a 5 mile run before it gets too hot and humid. I hope you have a great run.

Christine- Your dog IS a cutie. I have a golden retriever but she is not a runner. She’ll make it about 1 mile and then we end up dragging (literally:) ) her home. She needs it though she is getting pretty big.

Gayle- Way to go on getting up and working out after such a late night!

Jess- I’m going to read about the P90 later today. It sounds great. What a great job on the marathons. I have never run one. Always wanted too but I too have had plantar fasciatis and am now having some troubles with my Achilles. The longest race I did was an 10 miler. Have fun at the pool and out to dinner.

I’m going to run then try to clean this house. With 2 teens and 900 of their friends constantly in and out it becomes a disaster in no time.

Have a great day all!!

Laura

Good morning Cheetahs!

How are you today? I am great! I was up at 7AM doing a 45 minute run. I assume I ran about 3-4 miles. I need that Garmin! From now on I am just going to estimate my mileage! :)

I am now drinking coffee out of a Cathe mug that I made through Kodak Easy Share Gallery! I wished that Cathe's company would make mugs and water bottles, but since they don't, I decided I could make my own mug to drink those daily coffees and teas in! I love it!
It is a picture of the big poster that is outside of Cathe's studio. I am sure you RT ladies remember this! I got it from Erin's pictures from Boston! I am thankful for this! :)

Marcia - Glad you enjoyed DH's b-day last night, and that you cheated a bit on food! Every once and a while - you gotta do it! But I am sorry your body was not happy after (since you didn't feel great!). Hope you feel better today and DH is ok too!

Laura - Did you enjoy your wedding anniversary? Congrats again! Glad you are with us too! :)

Jess - great to have you back! Glad the computer problems are all set now! Enjoy your day with your beautiful family!

Kristi - Your birthday is coming up! Not too far away. Any special plans?

Christine - Your dog is really adorable. I love animals. I used to have a cat, and then a dog. I love them all! :)

I can't believe how quickly the summer is flying by! It seems that after I returned from Hawaii this July, it has flown every since. Wow! I will be back teaching in no time!

Gayle - What exactly will you be doing this year at the elementary school? Congrats again! You must be so excited! What a rewarding but challenging job teaching is. I would not give it up for the world. Glad you got a good workout in today! One that leaves you shaking in the end! Rest those muscles tomorrow! :)

Carole - I love the picture of you and Cathe. You are beautiful! Of course Cathe is too! Enjoy that workout today!

Where is Cathy? I am so used to her starting everything up! ha ha! Maybe she is setting up her classroom again! It looked great Cathy! I can't believe we will be back again soon! Good luck with it all! :)

To all of the following Cheetahs today - HI! Take care everyone and enjoy your day!

Amy :)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...yep that OJ book thing is just crazy. That was one of those trials you never forget. You know I didn't notice the humidity as much In NJ as I did in Atlanta, of course it was a record breaking high in Atlanta the day I got stuck there...I had a chiro that tried to get me to quit drinking coffee...get real!!! I did quit for a week once and had a headache everyday, so forget that anytime soon.

Marcia...glad you got your rotation figured out.

Christine...I agree completely on the Scrapple...YUK! Even if I was not a vegetarian I would never try that stuff...GS floorwork can kick your booty! have fun with PS and a spin..

Kristi...enjoy your run today.

Gayle...WOW!...good job on working out after not much sleep!

Jess...that would be awful to go back to dial-up after having DSL. I'd be dying, but when I help my Mom I have to deal with dial-up. Hope you are back to speed soon. Good job on the run and walking lunges.

Shelly....THANKS a lot for the pic. I like it...:)...so you like this one better than the neener one????!!...I hope you have a good long run today...:)

Amy..sounds like you enjoyed Powermax. Thanks for your compliment. The whole Cathe crew is absolutely gorgeous.

Jackie...I use a cheese called Soya Kaas, it comes in mozzarella and cheddar. I get it at my health food store or Raley's. It has a good flavor and melts well too. Good job with ARX after a hard run!

Susan...you are too sweet! As you might not catch Shelly you would for sure be able to catch ME! I think that is great you are going to start walking/running. Where do you get your shoes? I hope you have a great time with your Dad.

Laura...looks like you figured out the avatar thing...:)..you have a lovely family.

I am doing S&H Legs, abs and 40 min on my EXT.

Have a great day...

Hey Ladies :) Not feeling like much of a Cheetah these days, hard to get a run in before it gets too hot. I did get 8K in the other day, started out okay but she wasn't pretty in the end :) Don't know what's with me, post vaca funk or something, not sleeping well, feeling vaguely anxious about nothing in particular and everything in generalx( I either need a hug or a kick in the @$$:+ I'm debating my workout...DrillMax or Terminator...we'll see but this blood needs to get pumpin'!

Marcia, my DD Faith turned 13 yesterday, no big supper though, she got tonsilitis for her birthday so it was homemade brocolli cheese soup and ice cream cake:9 There is so much mercy in the fact that everyday is a 'fresh start':) Sounds like DH is having a festive b-day season:)

Kristi, enjoy your run.

Christine, nice to see you posting again! That's great that you signed up for a half with DH, love it when couples and families do these things together, warms my heart. Enjoy PS CST, I love the shoulder work in that workout.

Gayle, late night hey? Good for you getting your workout in! GS CT always does the trick, gets it 'shakin' like a chiahuahua'...Cathe says that in one of the workouts, cracks me up every time:)

Jess, that's awesome that you've recruited another neighbour to run with you! You worked your legs nicely today!! Enjoy your dinner, sounds delish!

Shelly, thanks for the fun pics of our beloved Carole:) That's a looong run for you today, enjoy!

Carole, you are too cute, love the 'neener neener'.

Laura, I'm nodding my head about the teens, I've got 3 in the house. As much as they drive me to distraction sometimes I absolutely love teenagers. They make me think, laugh and shake my head.:) Have a great run!

No appointments for me until later today, my new bike (a Schwinn) hasn't got too many miles on it but the brakes crapped out on me when I was riding some trails! That was one HUGE adrenaline rush. I'll take it back today.

Chat later Cheetahs!

Take Care
Laurie

Good morning Cheetahs!

Laura - It's good to see your beautiful face. You did good figuring things out! You have a beautiful family and dog.

Wendy - Who's the instructor for iSculpt 8? Don't you just hate when the exercises are great but everything else is off? Sorry you didn't enjoy it.

Cathy - Did you do abs before PUB or after? I find I can do all of the pikes if I do the abs first. Enjoy your last few days of freedom.

Amy - Glad you got your run in. Is your birthday in November? Mine is. Can you mark off your route with your car to give you a general idea of how far you're running? You will love that Garmin when you get it.

Marcia - Don't worry about the meal last night. It was a special occasion and I'm sure you deserved it. Glad DH birthday was nice. Are you feeling better?

Kristi - Enjoy your run!

Christine - Enjoy your weight workout and spin if you decide to do it.

Gayle - Nice workout today! I usually get jelly arms from GSC&T too.

Jess - Great run! Nice you added another one to the group. The more the merrier, right? Enjoy your family tonight.

Shelly - How was the run? 15 miles! Whew!! Are you adding something extra? Love the pic of Carole and Cathe.

Laurie - Sorry for the fun you're in. Hope it goes by soon.

Carole - Thanks for the cheese info. Will look for it this weekend. I've discovered Greek yogurt and love the stuff. Enjoy your workout today.

I did SSE Cardio Sculpt, an easy 3 mile run and the bonus stretch from SuperCharged Sculpting.

Have a great day everyone!

Jackie

What a surprise I have another question for all or any of you.
Do any of you do HIIT training with your running?
I read about it yesterday and decided to run the mile to our local school track then do 3 miles of interval training then run the mile back.

I'm telling you for the love of all things good, it was wicked hard!!
I'm not sure I am doing it right.

I got to the track then did 30-40 second intervals then tried to slowly jog, it was more like limping and gasping, for 30 seconds then do it all over again. I managed to do 2 1/2 miles and my heart rate was up to 185!
I usually keep my heart rate on my runs between 156-168, so it really got up there.

Does this sound like what I am suppose to do? It's been 45 minutes and I'm finally cooled off.

Thanks for any input you might have!
Laura

Anyone have the P90X workout sheets on your computer? I'm trying to get organized to start rotation and thought it would be nicer if they were printed off the computer instead of copied from the book. :)

Marcia.

I don't have the official worksheets, but I do have ones I created. I'll be more than happy to send them to you. They were created in Excel. If interested pm me your email address.

Well, I'm off to "lunch" to workout. BBL.

Hello again y'all! I had a pretty successful 15 mile run this morning although my second half was a lot slower this time. It's just been a very busy week and I'm still a bit sleep deprived.

Marcia- Happy belated B day to you DH. Sounds like you had a good time. Do you like your new haircut? Will we be seeing a pic of you soon?? I hope so :)

Christine- Wow, you were at it early this morning for a California cheetah! Posting even before our SuperCarole! Sounds like your runs are going well and I'm so excited that you'll be doing the SJ RnR half!!!! I havent done any PS workouts in a while, have fun!

Jess- Poor cheetah having to put up with dial up!!! I'd be banging the desk in frustration:eek: But it's great that you can connect with us even if it's in slo-mo;-) I love the comment about your group being hard core!!!

Laura- Kudos to you for still fitting into your wedding dress! I love your pics and I very much agree with everyone else here..... you have a beautiful family!! I frequently split my workouts with my higher intensity cardio session or run in the morning and a lesser intensity cardio or strength workout later in the day. But, then again I don't have any kids and I am in awe of the Moms around here like you who can fit in the time for their workouts. Interval training is an excellent addition to your training program. Especially if you want to participate in a race. It sounds to me at this point at least you should be taking longer recovery periods.

Amy- Powermax if a fun one isn't it? BTW, Cathe does have an official mug. They were selling them at the RT. Look for the link for Cathe gear on the home page. Keep up the good work!!

Jackie- Hiya buffgirl:p Great job on your tempo run yesterday!
What did you think of iTread21? Worth getting? yes, I will be doing some more workout later today.

Susan- I guess your Dad is coming today!!!! How exciting for you and your girls. Hey, I knew they would flip over those cute poddle purses, makes the hassle with your luggage worthwhile!

Judy- I've always been curious how many miles one would put in playing a round of golf (without a cart of course) It is so impressive that you did this AFTER a challenging 6 mile run!!!!!

Kristi- You are sounding very well lately! How are your little ones?
Hope the run goes well for you today.

Gayle- Holey Moley.... GSCT after less then 4 hrs sleep:eek: I bet you'll be crashing tonight! Got the TM fixed yet?

Laurie- I think DM is an excellent antidote for post vaca funk!

Carole- I loved your comment about the neener pic on my picturetril site!! Yes, I do particularly like this one of you and Cathe!!!
Awesome leg day for you! I punked out on my long run towards the end today.... I guess I should have eaten my scrapple:+

DH is impatient to get out and do some shopping. Later today I'll be doing Squeeze.

NJ cheetahs.... Wendy and Cathy.... where are ya?
SunnyD- what's happening with you?

ShellyC

Hey there, cheetahs! :)

I was on the forums very early (as usual) but didn’t get around to posting. I spent most of the morning running around doing different things (I won’t bore you w/ details) and opted for LL as my workout in lieu of KPC Cardio Cond. premix. Later, it’s off to get a new pedi, finally.

Now for personals…

Marcia ::: hope you’re feeling better…but what’s this??? You’re abandoning our lower body rotation for the X!?? *gasp* ;) J/k…I wish you luck with it!

Kristi ::: oh good! Then you don’t have to wait too long for your Garmin!!

Christine ::: hope you enjoyed a good CST workout today. PS is one that I don’t have, but I think I am not going to cave in and buy anything else until we get more news about the Workout Blender.

Gayle ::: WOW on staying up that late and waking up early, anyway, to do your workout!! ROCK ON! How’s the baseball league management going?

Jess ::: enjoy your dinner with the fam tonight.

Shelly ::: that is a nice pic of Carole & Cathe…I’d like to know how you all look so good after working out. I am usually a red, sweaty, dripping mess!!!…hope you catch up on the needed rest.

Laura ::: glad you enjoyed your anniversary dinner despite less-than-stellar service…I am also a former AT-sufferer – it puts the fear of God in me, so I’m extremely cautious now!!…I don’t run intervals often these days, but when I do, I allow myself a little bit more recovery time than you did. I might do the slow jog for several *minutes*, then sprint for 30-60 seconds, and repeat this 5 or more times.

Amy ::: Seriously, girl, go to www.mapmyrun.com until you get your Garmin. You will love it rather than guesstimating!...thanks for the comments re: my classroom ~ I didn’t go in today but will be in two days next week doing half-day committee work, so I’ll get some more done then. Bulletin boards and hopefully the last of the unpacking.

Carole ::: yeah, I hear you ~ I am willing to follow doc’s orders, but that is where I draw the line!!

Laurie ::: maybe it is just the new job/change factor…it takes some time to settle in and adjust to a new environment, routine, and people…which workout did you opt for?…Yikes on the brakes!! Lucky nothing happened!

Jackie ::: I usually do PUB abs after…last time I did it, I skipped the pikes – this time, I went for it but had trouble staying on the ball, I was so sweaty. Good idea to do the abs first next time…There is something ominous about the phrase “last few days of freedom.” I know, I know – my non-teacher friends have absolutely NO sympathy for me. *lol*…Hmm, Greek yogurt…I’ve never heard of it. But I like almost everything Greek. What is it like?

Hi to Wendy, Sunny, Judy, Susan, and anyone else who drops in!

Oh NOOOOOO Cathy - I'm just getting ready for an X rotation in the near future. I had to re-evaluate our current rotation to do a little 'catching up'. ;-)

Marcia.

I opted for DrillMax this morning, it sure gets the job done}( I took an extra loooong stretch after...20 minutes of aaaahhhhh...:)

Cathy, I think you're right, so much change and upheaval lately. Change is good but not always easy. I am such a victim of routine and the routine is in a state of flux now for sure. Thanks for your perspective:) My brakes are fixed now, the fellow at the shop was great. By the way, love the pics of you and the other Cheetahs. Your hair is like my 16 year old Marley's 'luxurious', you wear it well lovely lady:)

Shelly, have fun shopping with DH. Glad your run went well, that was a long one! There is a little bit of solace in knowing that there's another sleep deprived Cheetah out there....tonight's the night though...we're both getting 8 solid hours AT LEAST...she said hopefully:7

Laura, sounds like a 'Salt 'n Pepa' workout....you pushed it 'real good':+

Amy, what a cool idea for a mug and it makes perfect sense, my caffeine is definitely fuel for my Cathe time:)

I'd better get ready for work...enjoy the rest of your day ladies:)

Take Care
