RE: ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday kickin' off the holiday :...

Hi Cheetahs! Can you believe I have some leisurely time?

Christine - I have met some of DBF in-laws and they seem nice. This time the MIL is visiting along with a SIL and her DH. Oh, and let's not forget the kids. He's hoping he can survive the next few days with all those bodies in the house. Glad you're feeling better. Jimmy is going to enjoy his weekend at the spa. Have a safe trip to Napa. You will do great with your 50 mile ride.

Cathy - AK stands for Absoulute Kickboxing by Kimberly Spreen. I like this one for some reason. Great job on feeling your core with Newport. Hope those calves loosened up.

Gloria - Hope you have a good run.

Wendy - Sorry you have to miss the gym today. Have fun bowling. Still going to AC? Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Tony's new workouts. When you do that workout you will forget all about the cost of those new bells.

Hope to get out of here early today so I can start my weekend early.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Jackie

Shelly...I am glad to not be too sensitive to this smoke. I am only running outdoors 3 times a week and so far I have not felt bad. Yes, a break would be nice. I hope Posh checks in soon as I am a bit worried about her too. Way to go with 6 miles at an 8:35 pace!!!

Jackie...Yes, a good downpour would be helpful but none in the forecast. Good workout today! I am so glad this Thursday is really TGIF!!!

Christine...I have not seen much ash, but the dirt might hide it! I could send my car over for DH...:D....I am sure your back and your cold should get better soon. I am not sure I could survive without doing much cardio...Good job with Sweating buckets and PH Bi's & Tri's. I bet 50 miles will be fine for you in Napa, just be careful...

Cathy...I know, still no pic of my do!! I am really liking it and no, I don't miss my curls at all. It has been nice seeing my hair healthier looking. LOL about the Governator's accent and your relatives...:)..Sounds like a good mish mosh and EXT workout. I bet your calves will feel better tomorrow.

Gloria...you are right about the fires. Most of Northern Calif is burning...:(...Hope you have a good run...

Wendy...you will have to let us know how One on One is...I am not sure how long it will take to get the fires all out and the smoke all gone. I have heard mid July...:(...Yes, there have been many people with respiratory problems going to the Doctors or the Hospital. I am so fortunate to not be affected.

Had a great workout. I am home for a bit but have to go back to work for one more client. Then 4 days off!!

Hi Cheetahs.

My work out is done. I ended up opting for IMAX 2 blasts only 1-3-5-7-9 on my bosu + 5 min c/d + 22 mins of TJ Cardio Party. Now that I'm a sweaty mess I must jump in the shower and then pack Joey up for his weekend with MIL.

I will do my best to get back here at some point tonight for personals!

:* :* :*

RE: ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday kickin' off the holiday :...

Gloria ~ Well, that one was an easy read. It was more like a collection of ideas for writing instruction. Not dry at all...How was your run today?

Christine ~ great workout! I'm glad the back is agreeing...My calves are surely improved over yesterday but still kinda tight and knotted. Worked on 'em some more and have been stretching frequently.

Wendy ~ congrats on your new kb purchases (you sure had your hands full leaving Target today, huh? :7) and have fun hangin' at the lanes tonight!

Jackie ~ Leisurely time at work is a beautiful thing. Gotta snap up those moments when ya get 'em. I'm sure they are rare for you...Oh, duh--thank you for the acronym explanation. I have that one. *lol* Can definitely see why you chose to bypass the family shindig.

Carole ~ I'll bet your hair looks gorgeous!...I think you're right. Another day should do the trick. No more extra calf work for me. The hills are enough...Too bad you couldn't bump up your client.

RE: ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday kickin' off the holiday :...

HEY FRIENDS!!

Thanks for worrying about me! I’m ok – just the usual hamster wheel thingey. Sometimes it takes forever for me to read and post so sometimes I only have enough time to scan the post and that’s it…. Hopefully I’ll settle down someday!

The smoke seems better during the day and worse in the mornings. I have not been able to run at all outside yet…getting mighty boring on the friggin’ dreadmill! I’m supposed to get in 7 to 9 miles this weekend and boy do I hope I can do it outside!

I’m working a dayshift today because we close early and then I’m running errands after work. We’re having people over tomorrow for a cookout and I’m also the bartender…hee hee.. not that I’ll drink any of the following (‘cept a pina colada or two) but I like to be the barkeep! Here’s what we have: Original margarita on the rocks with cointrau, lime and reposado tequila, blended pina colada w/a mix of fresh pineapple and dole pine juice, coconut cream, and capt morgan’s spiced rum, stuff for martinis…both kinds – vodka or gin and vermouth and olives and of course the trendy folks prefer the flavored martini mixers…of course there’s cranberry juice for the vodka cranberry folks…and let’s see we have Corona and Kenwood Pinot as well… LOL….you should have seen the looks I was getting at Costco when in my cart were a gargantuan bottle of Grey Goose Vodka, Bombay Gin, Corona, Kenwood, Repasado Tequila….I just smiled and said, “it’s not for me”….lol.

I haven’t had the chance to go back and read the past few days so I’ll just quickly jump in here today before my lunch is over…

Cathy – Sorry about your calves. The foam roller is a good remedy though and hey, isn’t it time for you to have a massage? Lol. I live for my massages and me thinks it is what keeps me going…Also, there is some really great stuff to rub on called…well, crap I forgot starts with an “S” but I’ll look when I’m at home and post it. Great stuff though that helps the aches and pains.

Gloria – HEY! What big run are you going to?? Chicago?? YAY! If you are! I have to go back and look at the previous stuff to get in the loop here! If not Chicago, what run are you doing?

Shelly – YAY!!! On the house!! Can’t wait to see the pics you post next week. That’s so way cool! I’m sure the “kids” will love to “move” again though. LOL..just give em’ some treats. Glad your family is somewhat safe – hope things settle down though.

Christine – Whuuu? Geez, I HAVE to go back and read to catch up! You are going to Napa? Sweet. But not for the ride, right? That’s next week… You’ll be fine for 50 if you’ve recently done 30! I did that blasted 65 (turned into over 70) tour d organics in Sebastopol a couple years ago…I was nervous… but don’t you be – you’ll tear it up!

Wendy lou – Our Target would LOVE you… lol. Have fun with hubby tonight.

Jackie – ah, an enabling idea – the kickboxing DVD. Seems I like the kickboxing for cross training – like the 4D’s kickbox so I was thinking of finding another. Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Carole - Yeah, I’m surviving… I avoid the smoke as much as possible. It really does mess with me. I don’t like to use my albuterol because I get jittery, but I’ve had to get a few more puffs of that baby more than usual lately… hey, you have a new do? Get some pics going girl!

Ok, gotta get back at it! I’ll be sure to make some time for the cheetahs over the weekend!

Have a great day gals!

POSH :7

RE: ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday kickin' off the holiday :...

Christine: No ipod yet.:-( It is hard for me to be patient when I want my new toys! Glad you got to sweat today. Always feels good! :)

Wendy: That sounds like a killer workout! I thought about trying The Gauntlet on the bosu or LIC. Have fun with your new kettleballs! I hope you are successful tonight in bowling. :) My nap this morning was short, but I usually nap for an hour.

Jackie: Funny about your DH wondering if he will survive the weekend. I was wondering what AK stood for too, thanks. I may look into that one. I said that already, didn't I? :)

Carole: 4 days off is a beautiful thing! :) I told Christine that her DH would scoff at what my car looks like right now.

Cathy: I like the practical stuff too. It is hard to get through the dry things, as you well know. Glad to hear the calves are responding to your treatment. Keep it up, that's what I did and I was fine in no time. I loved bosu blast but I fear it for the agony the next day in the calves. What are you reading now?

I did my 4.2 mile loop. I procrastinated and it was a hard run, but I made it in 42 min. I am bagging the abs and yoga tonight and will add them on to drill max tomorrow. I will have to do it before dm though because I will not want to do it after. I know myself too well. :) I got the new Runner's World from the store and am looking forward to reading that tonight. I will probably make some guacomole too. Wendi got me craving it, so I bought the ingredients today. Take care lovely ladies!!!! :)

My friend's daughter is in China and she likes to run too. Maybe I will ask her if she wants to do that trail race with me. Anyway, she found an indoor track to avoid the smog and she said the Chinese run in the clothes they wore to work that day. Loafers and all. Wierd. She is looking forward to coming home. :)

RE: ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday kickin' off the holiday :...

POSH!! ~ SO glad you checked in with us. You mean "Sombra?" If so, I am addicted to it, and IA it does help. Now onto more important matters ;): what time should I arrive tomorrow?? Quite a liquid spread!...Hope you can do your long run outside!

Gloria ~ well, should it come as any surprise that I am an outright UPS stalker when I'm awaiting deliveries?? :7 Sorry that iPod didn't make it to ya yet...Right now I'm trying to finish The Wednesday Wars (kids' book) before I move on. I started too many thing at once. *lol* ...That is funny--I can't *imagine* running in my work clothes!

RE: ::: CHEETAHS ::: Thursday kickin' off the holiday :...

Posh: I am with Cathy on the invite. Quite the party. You might have to cut me off with the tequila though! LOL! When I first started college I was a wild child and I have had a tequila hangover. OUCH!! Smart enough these days not to go there! I am not going to Chicago. Just a 10 miler in a city here in Michigan. I would love to meet the Cheetahs though! :) Glad to have you check back in!!!! You were missed. Hoping it clears up on you so you can get outside!!!

Cathy: I have learned my lesson with starting too many books at once. It is best for me to focus on one. I will pick up my professional book tonight. Nothin' else really going on for me. I am trying not to be too pissy about not getting the ipod yet. The USPS priority mail has always been slow for me and the package is coming from Washington state. They do not have a good tracking system either, which is irritating. Oh well, I will just enjoy the holiday tomorrow! Any plans for you?
