Mornin, cheetahs!
It’s nice to be able to ramble on about training stuff here with folks who, as Gayle said, share the same passion!
Wendy :: CTX is new to me – I’ve only done the KB and Leaner Legs workouts so far. I’m not a fan of step, but I do plan to give those a try at some point…Great idea putting an ab circuit in there. Ugh – the v-up/rollup *lol*– that’s my least favorite move!
Jess :: your friend is young to already have lost both parents - how sad...re: the HRM/slow running concept, like anything else, I guess it’s an individual experiment…I am going to try to run slower (without walking) and see what happens…I seriously cannot imagine that you need to lose any weight!
Gayle :: (((HUGS))) sorry to hear about the situation you’re in, but I think it is wise not to ignore your gut feelings…the marathon relay does sound like fun…Gayle, how in the hell did you go running in the middle of the day yesterday???
Want2B :: I’m sorry – if you mentioned your first name, I forget what it is. Glad to hear you’ve happily rediscovered running. I started working out again in Jan. 06 after a hiatus of several years, and I remember thinking why did I ever get away from this? Quality of life is so much better when you’re fit!…I recommend the Garmin 305. I have the 201, which does not have the HRM. It also does not allow you to track progress through the computer. The model is SUPPOSED to, but the Garmin tech folks themselves say it’s junk. It doesn’t work. If you don’t care about the computer logging feature or HR information, then it’s fine. It tracks distance and pace and usually gets good satellite reception. However, if I had the decision to make again, I would spring for the 305. Worth it, IMO.
Carole :: with fender benders, you think it’s not a big deal (esp. when you see your car and there’s not much damage – which was the case with both of my accidents), but you can wind up with some nagging residual aches. I am feelin’ it this morning and am going to make a doc appt for next week and ask for a chiro referral…I laughed at your reference to thongs. I’m probably in the minority, but I have never been able to wear those things – they drive me nuts!…hope you enjoyed those new kicks!
Marcia :: (((HUGS))) What a tragic loss. Sounds like you are taking it hard.
Heather :: woo-hoo! BBC’s arrived! Arms & Abs is my favorite, too. I also like Barry and the way he yells. For some reason, I really appreciate tough instructors.
Shelly :: thanks for posting the pic. Mental note to self: never stand next to two superfit cheetahs. *LOL* For those who weren’t there, if you look closer, you will see the ice cream sandwich in my right hand. I think that explains all. *lol* Love the polar bear tat idea! After toying with the idea, the main reason I was put off from getting one is that I just could not settle on an idea that had enough personal meaning to me, something I thought I’d be happy with forever. I do like hearing/seeing other people’s, though…No, not even one Corona Light! I’m proud of myself. It’s partially diet-motivated and partially b/c of the Accutane…my back is OK – definitely not right – but I am still functioning and working out. It seems to ache most when I am in the car going over bumps and when I’m lying down. It's weird - I have the feeling like it wants to crack but can’t. I’m thinkin’ a chiro visit is a good idea.
Sunny :: feel-better vibes comin’ your way!!!!!!
Jackie :: enjoy today’s rest day. Does the conference run the whole week?
Speaking of cool tats, I was reading that Angelina Jolie had her kids' latitude & longitudes tattooed, I think, on her arm. It's the latitude & longitude of where they came into her life. Not sure if that's being explained clearly, but I saw a photo, and it looked cool.
Today is ME either after work, if I can get it in, or after dinner w/ friends.
