::: CHEETAHS ::: thursday, 6/20

Well, I'm back from the Dr's office- FINALLY!! 2+ hrs later!!

It turns out that Hannah has Fifth's Disease??? I'd never even heard of it before I looked up rashes online y'day!! Anyway, I guess she's no longer contagious, only when they have a fever (which she had a slight temp on Friday & wasn't feeling so hot for the race on Sat, but no symptoms after that...). And... I guess in adults it can cause achiness in joints, which I have had the last few days (I thought it was from racing the 5K, my knees & feet have been tender!). Guess I have it too. LOVELY!!!

And... Kiersten is still running a temp on & off from her surgery 9 days ago, so I had her checked out too. The Dr. checked her out thorougly- urine sample (fine), strep culture (fine), blood work (the white count was fine, still waiting on another test) and then we had to get an x-ray done of her neck/ head for the headaches/ neck pain that she's had since her surgery. The ENT said it was probably from the hyperextension of her neck during surgery (I took her in on Monday for a post- checkup). But she can't lift her head past a certain point w/out crying. So... the x-ray came back ok, but she might need to go in for some PT to help. UGH!!!!!!! And.. her left ear is a little red (didn't we get the tubes to STOP ear infections??) So she's on another antibiotic. I swear, if anyone else gets sick I'm going to scream!!!!!!!

I got in L & B after I posted this morning. Still need to do ARX, but might wait til tonight. I need to clean, disinfect, vaccum, and do laundry!! It never ends!!

Great workouts everyone, that's all I have time for!

Shelly :: I have some students who would probably disagree with the mean part! *lol*…I know that running has worked for me in the past, so I do need to bump up the mileage again this summer! I would like to at least trim off *some* of the pounds before September!…No, I would agree that being near the water is not worth the tradeoff…unless maybe you are wealthy.

Carole :: I know – I am so looking forward to meeting you all even though I can’t participate in the actual RT. I am still good to pick you guys up from the airport (and drop off on Sunday, too, if you like.)

Jackie :: I think I’ve downloaded two of the outdoor iTreads – used one so far. So what’s the name of the radio’s website? Do share!

Laurie :: awww, I found myself with a tear in my eye reading your post. (I was a little emotional yesterday just saying goodbye to my students. It’s an endless cycle of hellos/goodbyes as a teacher!) Anyway, I’m so looking forward to seeing a pic. I’ll bet she looks smashing! Any lava updates? Email if you get a chance.

Christine :: yes, we did rack up quite a few posts today, didn’t we?…Yes, I am working…two curriculum committees and some tutoring, and then of course, I’ll spend a good chunk of time prepping for next year as well as attending a few classes. In September, I’ll be beginning a certification program which will be quite demanding and rigorous, and I want to get a leg up when I start the year. I am basically one of those types who can’t stop working. But it’s nice to have time to plan and get organized at a relaxed pace.

Wendy :: I’ll probably shoot for a little earlier than 8:30, too. Good point about lines and bathroom runs. So, it’ll probably be best if I leave at 7.

Jess :: oh no! So, this is a disease? The name sounds vaguely familiar but I know nothing really about it. Geeze, you guys deserve a break! Hope everyone recovers soon!

Hi Marcia & Kristi!

Gotta get moving here. I am realizing now I was supposed to add KM drills to my run this morning (I never bothered to check my rotation this morning—I opted for spontaneity.) But now I’ve gotta get ready for a family birthday party and will not have time. Tomorrow, I suppose.

Have a great night, all!
