:::: CHEETAHS :::: thursday, 5.17

Finally some time for personals!

Cathy – Sorry you’ve lost your voice! That will be interesting teaching! Any movies you can show about the books you’ve been reading? :p I’m glad you’re feeling better though.

Sunny – you’re really getting into the iTrains, aren’t you? How are the iSculpts? I’m hesitant to try them. Working at three different locations eh? Really four as you’re a wonderful mom too!

Wendy – my DH has been doing the same thing to me and I know it’s not fun! I’m glad you’re not in pain – which means you can kill yourself with another workout! Dh is still alive and well, but only because he was the one who drove me to the emergency vet so I could hold Jimmy and keep him from ripping out the IV. A left hook would have been too kind as he was complaining the whole time about how much these animals have been costing him. I finally reminded him that HE’S the one who bought the poison AND put it down where Jimmy could get it easily. That shut him up. I still have the left hook in reserve, though. :p

Judy – Low Max is great for a cardio/legs day – have you done Pinky’s version where you do weights between the intervals? That is really a workout, but a great one!

Gayle – There is hairball stuff that you can get to help with that! I hated when my cats did that! Ick! I don’t blame you for shutting him out, but my kitties used to reach a paw under the door and rattle it – and they could do that for hours. So, I had no choice but to let them in (and get hairball medicine!) I re-read my post and realized I should have put upfront that he was okay – didn’t mean to scare you! It is a good idea to know the emergency vet info for your area – your vet should be able to tell you. If anything happens knowing where to go helps so much! Believe me, I learned that the hard way with Tucker. Great job on the improvised way to get more weight on your back without hurting your head!

Carole – thanks for your sweet note and all of the encouragement with Jimmy. I’m so happy he’s well! He’s still a little “off” but he went through a lot yesterday – they made sure every scrap of food made it through his system! A big sloppy puppy kiss for the prayer and thoughts!

Jackie – I can’t even do ONE pull up – I’m so impressed with your 15!! Yeah, Jimmy is better, so I’m not complaining!

Linda – Those bands are not quite long enough for me either – but they really did give me some shoulder strength!!! Jimmy gives you a big sloppy puppy kiss in return for the hug! He’s been giving a lot of kisses!

Shelly – I am so glad I got home in time! He’s snoozing by my feet. My DH saw him shaking and didn’t think much about it. I wanted to ring his neck! Another crazy workout – eh? I just shake my head in awe at you!

Susan – Yeah – I still have moments when I am almost on my knees because I miss my mom so badly and I so wish she were around to share something with me. {{{HUGS}}} It’s painful, but in a weird way I never want those moments to end – I’ll deal with the pain as long as I have the memories. Hope you find your way through the haze. You’re girls will help you. Thanks for your sweet words about Jimmy and Tucker. Puppy kisses!

No workout for me today – I’m just thankful I have yet another wonderful boss!

And lastly – a photo taken today of Jimmy and Kimo… http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1308/4836116/10006168/253274722.jpg

Hey Cheetahs!! I've been on an OCD crazed cleaning frenzy today. Someone help!! ;-) It just seems I haven't had time to get to the little things (you know, cleaning off the top of the fridge, dusting everything in sight, cleaning all of the windows.. }( ). Now I'm off to work in our bedroom- my part of the closet is clean but my dh is *not* a neat freak like me. }(

I did Legs & Back plus ARX this morning, and then felt the need to do something this afternoon so I did L & G ankle weights premix & abs from KPC. I have to say that the pikes didn't feel that difficult, I guess ARX is effective! :) Oh, oh, and I did FIVE unassisted reverse grip pull-ups!! I'm not up to Jackie's standards yet but I'm getting stronger for SURE!!

My neck/ shoulder is still a little tender but feeling lots better than Tuesday! I think it was a pinched nerve, Greg was massaging it & there were certain points that would send almost a shock down my back & up my neck. The yoga definitely helped though!

Had a busy day y'day- Allison had a bday party for a preschool friend & then I ran errands, and we had choir & church last night.

Ok, just catching up a little bit. My time is limited so sorry if I can't get to everyone!

Christine ~ I'm glad that Jimmy is ok! How scary! What a cute pic, he is such a lucky doggy to have you for his owner! My girls would love him. Mikey needs his summer shave, his hair is shedding like CRAZY!! The girls are pulling it off by the handful!!

Cathy ~ Are you feeling any better yet??? You poor thing!! I hope you got your voice back!

Susan ~ Sorry you had a rough day. I'm sure there will be more of those as you grieve. A day off is a good thing when you feel like that!

Wendy ~ Glad you survived that evil premix! Thanks for letting us know what it's like! I'm always scared of the leg blast premix, repeating the pain of walking lunges/ squats over & over! But the last time I did it, it wasn't so bad! I bet Joey looked adorable for his pics! I don't like Sears anymore, we go to Portrait Innovations & I love the way they turn out!! (and you get them immediately!)

Carole ~ Sorry you got a bad pizza from Papa Murphy's. I looove their pizza, the Veggie Delite is my fav along w/ the gourmet vegetarian (love the artichokes!). Greg gets a $3 discount for the family size pizza w/ his work badge- love that!

Jackie ~ Your workouts sound awesome! WTG on the pullups- you're definitely getting stronger!

OK, I really need a shower before the kiddos get home! Been too busy cleaning the house to worry about cleaning up myself!

Oh, and for everyone that complimented my avatar- thank you! I got the dress 2 yrs ago for my BIL's wedding & haven't worn it since! We're all kind of squinting in the sun there, but it's the only pic I got of all of us dressed up. ;-)

Afternoon, cheetahs—

Sunny :: hope you enjoyed today's workout...I'm hoping to try my new CIA k'box workout sometime this weekend.

Wendy :: sorry to hear DH is coming down with a bug…and it kept you up, too…no fun for either of you…We had a jumbled up schedule today because of an assembly, so I only taught 3 out of 5 classes. I guess you could say I DO have a voice – it comes and goes and is just very “froggy” sounding overall…I didn’t see the whole thing, and I was on the edge of my seat, too – but I still couldn’t believe how lucky Paxton and Helen Hunt were, to get through all of that practically unscathed and clinging to a pipe at the end. It made me laugh. And I agree—he did look pretty hot. And he is not someone I ever looked twice at. I just remember him as the jerky older brother in Weird Science. *lol*

Judy :: yes, I’m on the mend…I guess it was a very determined bug!…That’s great that DD feels she did well on the AP exam…it’s a beautiful thing to be able to test out of some of those classes for freshman year! Does she know where she’ll be going to school?

Gayle :: *lol* about sounding like a man…the cat is definitely picking the wrong time & place to hack up a hairball – blech!!…thanks for the feedback – I was wondering about his band workouts. He is one that seems to get mixed reviews, so I have never ventured into Billy territory (other than the very first couple of videos – years ago! – that my sister owned. I didn’t care much for them then, but granted…that was a really long time ago…)

Carole :: I scheduled a hot stone massage for the first weekend in June – I was trying to schedule a regualar Swedish once a month but missed May…so, since this is a little pricier than a regular massage, I’m thinking of this one as a little extra reward for sticking through the X. Have you ever had the hot stone? I’ve done one deep tissue and thought that was a little rough!

Christine :: OMG – SO glad Jimmy’s OK! What a horror! Poor little guy. I’m sure you’ll be giving him lots of TLC today. Ooh, what a gorgeous pic…there is something that looks so humanlike about Jimmy’s face in that one!

Jackie :: great job on the superwide grip unassisted pullup! It is really awesome how you can do as many of those as you do. I know if I had a pullup bar, I would be in for a rude awakening.

Linda :: you all must think I’m the Wuss Cheetah – catching one bug after another. *lol* This school year has been tough with the germs! Between that and the Accutane side effects, I've been a mess in recent months!... I am always afraid that the band I use for P90X will break and come snap me in the nose. Great w/out yesterday!

Shelly :: yes, the kids did go easy on me…they are an absolutely incredible group -- I’m going to miss them!…Honestly, I don’t think this doc knows what I have…(he might be younger than me --which would make him pretty green for a doc)… I thought strep the first time but apparently not…he didn’t tell me at yesterday’s visit; he just told me what he was going to prescribe…*lol* about telling your DH to basically “get over it” when he’s sick…Everyone in my family is the same when it comes to being sick – we just wanna be left alone. *lol* about Crazy Shelly’s workout…After the X, I want to try doing some runs paired w/ one of the intense leg w/outs on the same day. Some of your masochistic tendencies must be rubbing off on us here. ;) It’s a good thing.

Susan :: that does sound like it could be an ITB aggravation…foam roller?…and (((HUGS))) comin’ your way.

Jess :: the leg blast scares me, too, and yet I crave it...weird. Hope the neck/shoulder issue continues to improve. That one would be kinda tough to get to with the roller. :)

Well, I am opting for a rest day today. I do think my body needs it. Could I probably *make* myself do the yoga? Yeh, but I don't think the inverted poses would be all that great for the sinuses. It is hard sometimes when you are in the zone to really listen to what your body needs or would benefit from - you just want to keep **pushing**!! - but I think I need to turn off the mental switch and just RELAX. Whatever I don't do of the X, I will carry it over into next week's recovery week. No big deal.

-Cathy :)
