---CHEETAHS! THANKSGIVING THURSDAY!---

Cathlete
GOOD MORNING CHEETAHS!

Wendy: So are you a red or white wine gal? Glad you are feeling better and could squeeze in a workout! Yes, I will be wearing my glasses when I drive. :)

I have to go to mom's house and feed her birds and cats. Then off to DH's parents. I will do yoga and run first.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CHEETAHS! :)

Good morning, everyone!

Wendy— Glad you recovered from feeling in the dumps. I see you got your workout in and your happy hour on. Wooboy—after Nyquil, sinus meds, and wine, I do hope you’re NOT in a coma! :p… Well, let's see here, Carole and I will stop talking insomnia when you stop talking about your daily naps!

*lol*

Wendi—I don’t know re: Vista. I haven’t had problems so far…maybe I’ve been lucky. I’ve come to like it a little better than XP, actually. But if I’d had an in-the-know relative/friend who cautioned me strongly against it, I probably would have done the same as you plan to. Glad DM & the run have helped clear the mental gremlins. Hope your day today with the fam and SO is wonderful. Know they will be well-fed, happy campers!

Carole—Hormone-related? Hunh, that never occurred to me. Seems once I wake up, I have a very hard time falling asleep again. That sounds like a really cool pic of your dad. I love those old black & whites. There are some of my dad back in the day where he looked like Elvis (really).
elvis.gif

Christine—*lol* I hear you on the crowds. I am not one for madness myself, but I love a bargain…so, I will go out in the early morning with a strategic plan for an hour or two. Most stores have very orderly lines and parking really isn’t a hassle that early. J Some years, I’ve skipped it, though. Depends on what gifts I need to buy. Congratulations on making your goal at work! WOO HOO!! Hope you are feeling tip-top again for today’s festivities.

Jackie—Factory, you say?? That must be the outlet? Wish I had one o’ those close to me! IA…the clothes are well-made, fit nicely, and there are bargains to be had. So, the insomnia is hormone-related for you, too? Interesting. As mentioned to Carole, I had not thought about that as a possibility.

Posh—whew, busy days for you! Hope your mom made it safely to Ohio…Oh yeah, I really geek out when it comes to books and getting my non-readers to buy in. I just love the challenge of getting to know them and placing that right book in their hands. Wish more parents were like you! Unfortunately, a good many just plunk down their tots in front of the TV aka babysitter. It is a real disservice to the child…Ooh, another Ann Fan! J

Brighton—PieMax sounds like a good fix for stress of any kind. J
piesmiley1.gif

Gloria—how nice that your ex-principal dropped by for a visit. How does she like her new school? Oh, I hear you—those kinds of Murphy’s Law days are ugly when they happen, eh? Great job keeping up with the workouts. I know how challenging that can be. You are right about how there is always something at school. The “slow” periods seem to be very short-lived, don’t they? *lol* Enjoy your run & yoga.

Hope everyone who'll be on the road has safe travels and an enjoyable time wherever you’ll be spending your day.

Thanks for your ongoing friendship, support, and inspiration!

Good morning ladies!

I have a quick moment before I need to get my tuchus in gear. Gonna bang out Imax 2 (I think I may even add on a couple of intervals from BM2 or Imax 3 depending on how I feel:eek::D). I absolutely *killed* CleanMax yesterday:D so today's agenda will be final kitchen wipe down, quick dust and vacuum and fix that pipe in the basement. Plenty o' time before mom and grandmom get here around noon:cool:.

It's funny, I don't tend to be very sentimental around TG...wasn't ever a really big "thing" in my house. But, I've got to come clean this year, I can't even put into words how thankful and truly blessed I feel to have you wonderful ladies in my life:D. I've never been surrounded by so much support and encouragment before. I am truly honored to be part of this wonderful circle of friendship that we have. Okay, done being sappy....

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey Day!!

Happy Thanksgiving Girls!

Remember: Forget the clean eating, the diets, the calorie counting. Forget about tracking macros and putting your food into fitday, calorieking or Cathe's nutrition program. Forget about it ALL and just have FUN eating and drinking to your heart's content while surrounded by those you love!:D:):D

Gloria: I'm an any kind of wine I can get my hands on kind of girl! LOL Actually, I don't know anything about wine so I was kind of clueless when I went to the store. I ended up buying myself a red which was just okay and then bought a big bottle of white merlot to take with me today. I'd never had the white merlot until my FIL brought it over when I had DH's fam over for dinner a couple weeks ago. It's yummy. Light and sweet. I figured I'd return the favor today. I actually may pick up a bottle for myself one of these days too! ;)

Cathy: LMBO about no more insomnia talk for no more nap talk! You got yourself a deal! ;) Ya know, I thought about that myself-the combo of drugs I've taken in the past 24 hours! Too funny. :D I followed the wine up with one beer and a little GH fun. Made sure I was going to be hang over free and didn't go to bed TOO late since I have lots to do before heading out this afternoon.

Wendi: Awwww. How nice of you! The feeling is mutual, sweetie! :) Enjoy your day! Hope you get everything done before company comes!

Good morning Cheetahs! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Christine - Glad you're feeling better. Good job with the workout yesterday.

Gloria - You know we're in the business where neither rain nor snow nor gloom of day will keep your mail from getting to you. :D Sorry you have to go back to the glasses. I only wear mine for reading but not driving. Glad you enjoyed your 4 miles. Have fun at your in-laws today.

Posh - Glad the cleaning is almost done! Good luck with your race today!

Brighton - Hope you can find a stress free day. Have a safe trip to your parents and enjoy. Glad the kids are sleeping better.

Cathy - I've only seen Ann Taylor Factory stores up north in outlet malls. I usually get to shop when I visit my sis. Oh, yeah, I found one when I was in NY last year. Found lots of stuff. Menopausal and hormonal = sleeplessness. Ugh!!

Wendi - Glad you're already for the family. Enjoy IMAX2! Thanks for the http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm117YYUSmushy sentiment. Right back at ya! :D

Wendy - Oh, dear, hope you feel better. Maybe a little wine http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm117YYUS just http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm117YYUS might http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm117YYUS help you out. Thanks! Forgot about all of that eating stuff already.

Waiting for it to warm up a little before heading out for a run. So thankful to have all of you ladies as friends and support. You're the greatest!

Enjoy the day with your families.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I will have to share the pic of my Dad, if I can get my hands on it soon..:)...That is cute about your dad looking like Elvis in his younger years. Absolutely love that pie eating smiley!

Gloria...I think it is all about the way tofu is prepared that makes it good. Yes you remember right, I am much mouthier the older I get..:D..I wear glasses for close up stuff (they are progressive lenses) but would consider them for sure for driving in bad weather and at night. Good job on the 4 miles yesterday. Enjoy your run and yoga today.

Wendi..Have fun with Imax 2 and whatever you add on.

Wendy...the only wine I really like is White Zin. What kind do you like? My DH is jealous of my guns and now he keeps telling me I am skinny...LOL! You mean I don't have to track my nutrition stuff today???...:D

Christine...I was a little sore from the self made S&H workout! Way to go making your goal number at work. Hope you had a nice walk with Jimmy.

Jackie...not sure I have ever stayed in bed til 9, even before all the hormone issues!!...:)...I PM'd you the actual Tofurky recipe.

Posh..WOW...mega busy day yesterday! Did you get all those errands done? I hope to do the Turkey Trot next year. I really like the Comfy sweatshirts you get!! Hey, the BOYS are playing today! Good luck in the run today...:)

Today I am doing my own pyramid legwork and a 6 mile run. Then getting my Tofurky prepared along with some veggie gravy and some Garlic mashed potatoes. I am going to my sister Cathi's house for the feast.

I hope you all have a very nice Thanksgiving and this sums it up for me:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO THE CHEETAHS

Hi y'all! I want to add my voice to the rest of you today in expressing my very deep gratitude and thanks for the wonderful support and friendship of such a fantastic group of fit gals!!:D:D:D:D:D

I was supposed to work last nite but they called and offered me the night off and I grabbed it:eek: Slept great and feeling super charged today! I'll be running today for sure.... at least 4 miles:D:D I have recovered from this marathon faster then I ever have with prior ones. Feeling no residual at all. In fact, I feel better then I did the days leading up to the race!
The pics are available and I actually like the one at the finish line.... has the big PHILADELPHIA banner right over my head... very nice! I'll share it with you when it arrives.

Yesterday I did ASC3 and a couple of miles worth of stationary cycling.
Today I'll do a nice full body circuit first... not sure which yet tho... something challenging for sure:D.

Cathy- Funny you should bring up an ultra. There is another runner I work with.... VERY into running and in his youth was an elite runner with a marathon PR of 2:18:eek:. Anyway, for some reason he keeps bringing up this local 50 mile race and thinks I should do it! I'm not convinced tho... that takes up a massive amount of time for training and I just dont have the time. Glad you finally got in a good nite's rest and I hope this extended holiday weekend will be a restorative one for you!

Carole- Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!! Hope you enjoy your tofurkey! I've been quite happy being vegetarian and I have you to thank for your inspiration in finally enabling me to make the plunge. However, for today I will go off of it and have some turkey to make my DH happy. Re: feeling bad at the end of the Philly marathon.... you are quite right in that more gels would have helped. I had 4 but only used 2. I really wanted to take more but the nausea was really troubling me after mile 16 or so and I just couldn't bear the thought of more gu and gatorade. Maybe I should start packing my own sports drink. I'm never troubled with nausea using my Cytomax.

Linda- Hope you are having a terrific holiday! I went back to see what I missed the last couple of days... you asked me about my pre race Clif bars. I eat 2 regular sized ones... my fav is the oatmeal/raisin. Gives me a nice energized start without weighing me down and feeling too full. let me know how you like the new Power bars.

Jackie- Love your smileys today! I think you are quite capable of running a 2 hr HM. As you know ... it's all in the pacing! You'll need to average around a 9:00 min/mile.... just make sure you don't go faster then that in the first half. The strategy of going faster in the first part of a long race so you can relax in the second part NEVER works!! But many runners try it anyway and end up crashing. Your a smart cookie and uber fit and I know you'll do well!!

Judy- I'm feelin just fine and dandy a few days post marathon thank you!!! Gotta confess... when I found out last nite I was getting the nite off I actually briefly considered getting up early and going to a local turkey trot. I've never done one. Came to my senses tho;) Nice strategy to nix a run the day after your long one. I'm predicting a very impressive performance on your upcoming HM!.

Wendi- Thanks for the congrats! You really should consider doing the Philly HM It is a very impressive route and that part of it is fairly easy!
Funny story--- after about 6.5 miles or so while still in the downtown portion of Philly I was running next to a half marathoner who kept chanting.... "half way there, half way there". Gotta confess... I was jealous as hell that I was only 1/4 way there and I felt like yellin at her... "OH SHUT UP!" restrained myself tho!

Christine- Glad to hear that you were feeling better yesterday and got in a good workout with SS. Enjoy your long walk with Jimmy? I bet you are having a very nice big family Tday!

Gloria- hope you are getting in a great holiday at the hunting camp and having a nice run and yoga session!

Wendy- You are so right.... forget clean eating for today!!!!! Love your spirit. You always make me smile cutie pie and I am so GRATEFUL for YOU!!!!!!

That is it for me for today my dear cheetahpals!
Have a great one!

Phew~My pre-turkey feast work out is complete. I ran 3.54 miles with Grace this moring and now I'm eating some oatmeal and sippin' a Dunkin' coffee. Life is good. :)

I too am thankful for all of you and this thread. Checking in with such a great group of women keeps me going in so many ways! I just don't feel right if I can't come here atleast once a day. You are all special to me. Love and hugs to each and every one of you!!! :):):)

Gotta finish up my oatmeal now and get crackin' on what I need to do before we leave for MIL's!

I'll come back with personals when I'm closer to being ready to leave!

Toodles!:)

Pseudo-Cheetah?

Hello, Cheetahs.

I'm wondering if I can crash your thread for a few weeks. I know that you're a tight knit group, and many of you have been checking in together for a while. So if a newbie cramps your style, that's fine. But here's why I'm asking.

As you'll see in my signature, I'm training for a 1/2 marathon. I consider myself an advanced exerciser, but I'm not an experienced runner, at least not recently. Here's my running history.

Ran track throughout highschool--mostly the long sprints (400 and 800m).
Ran consistently through college to keep in shape--just 3 miles, about 3 times a week
Developed achy knees when I graduated from college, and quit running for other activities (swimming, weights, workout DVDs, etc)

I later learned that my knee issues were because of overtraining in aerobics without doing adequate strength training, and in part, too, to a tight IT band. That knowledge allowed me to start running again. But I'm hooked on Cathe and mostly do that now.

But now I've decided I want to do this 1/2 marathon.

4 years ago I participated in an adventure race that included a 10K as the first leg (of many!), but that is my most recent running. I've never trained for a run longer than that.

Could I hang out here with you guys until my race? I could really use the input of experienced runners!

And, BTW, I ran 5 miles this morning. So I'm already well broken into the running scene again.

Thanks.

Laura,

Ofcourse you can crash! You are more then welcome to stay as long as you like. If you decide not to run after you do your half you can STILL hang out with us if you want to. We are close-yes, but we welcome new members with open arms so don't think for a second that you won't be treated like one of the crew from the word GO! :D

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Posh – Glad you got through CleanMax. Hope LaundryMax was painless. Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday!! Too funny about DD18 who used to be a vegetarian. In and Out is THE hamburger joint, although I don’t see why – they are good, but I’m not much of a burger person I guess. Hope no one gives you troubles today about your eating choices – I certainly respect it!

Wendy – glad you were able to work out the sinus issues and get a workout in! Way to go! Yes, SS/PP is a good DVD. I even enjoyed just doing SuperSets as is. I guess I’m getting old as that would have never been enough a few years ago. Enjoy your run today! ITA with you on just eating today. I was chuckling at the thread on OD about the Thanksgiving plan – I wanted to post – “My plan is to EAT and ENJOY!”

Brighton – Oooh, a Trek 2.1…! That’s a nice one. I’m really looking forward to the Tour de Tahoe – I think I can handle that part of the road as long as I can ride in the middle. My DD15 was about 7 when we were crossing over that point (and they had just re-opened it due to snow) when she opened the car door!!! I about had a heart attack! Fortunately she was buckled in, but… I know that took 10 years off my life.

Gloria – Thanks – re, Jimmy and the attack. I don’t get people. Oooh, what a wonderful idea for the holidays!! You’re a sweetie, you know! The puppies and the kitties will be so appreciative. Yeah, girlfriend, get those glasses on. It makes life so much nicer! :p

Cathy – I hope you got my email about the 40% off sale at Luckyjeans.com today only! 40% off EVERYTHING! I got DD15 a pair of jeans – and myself as well as you have to order over $100 to get free shipping. :D Have fun shopping tomorrow. There is something to be said for the thrill of the hunt!

Wendi – You’re going to make me cry! I’m glad you’re here, too! Enjoy the holidays. It’s always been a big family gathering for us. We used to have 50+ people at dinner. It’s weird to have it so it’s just the immediate family.

Jackie – Enjoy your run today, and your Thanksgiving Day. What are you plans today?

Carole – There was a big news story about Tofurky last night. They interviewed a vegetarian who was tired of being told, “Happy Turkey Day”. It actually did make me think, and I’m much more open about that stuff than most. Enjoy it today! And enjoy your Pyramid leg workout!

Shelly – Oh so happy you had the night off! Great job at recovery from the marathon! Amazing! We had our family Thanksgiving dinner last Saturday. Today we’re going to friends. I only have to make stuffing! :D

Laura – WELCOME! We may have been posting for a while, and yes, we are a close knit group, but we are very welcoming to new comers!! Glad to have you here! Hopefully you’ll find that we’re pretty okay and hang with us after your half! :p

I am SOOO thankful that I have you Cheetahs in my life!! You all are quite simply the best group of women I have ever met. I’m so happy to have stumbled upon your thread. *gives big group hug* Today will be a bike ride – indoors unfortunately due to the rain. I think I’ll do Have Mercy the original. I like the variety in that one. Then it’s off to friends for Thanksgiving. Afterwards we’ll sit on the sofa comparing bellies. Enjoy Everyone!!

PS - as I told Cathy - www.luckyjeans.com is having a 40% off sale on line. If you spend over $100, you get free shipping too! It's one day only - ends at midnight tonight. I know a lot of y'all are fans of Lucky Jeans! I ordered a pair for me and for DD15.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I am SOOO thankful that I have you Cheetahs in my life!! You all are quite simply the best group of women I have ever met. I’m so happy to have stumbled upon your thread. *gives big group hug*

Christine- I could not have said this any better! Thank you! Amen for Cheetahs!

Wendi - Thanks for getting our 'thank yous' started! How was IMax 2? Did you add to it?

Shelly- So glad you had the night off! Enjoy that turkey for a treat! My circuit was BM2 boot camp today. How about yours?

Cathy- How cool that Dear Dad looked like Elvis! We have some really sweet pictures om Mom & Dad smooching in a snow storm circa 1942.

Wendy- have fun with the family and the white merlot. Any big plans for your day to yourself tomorrow?

Gloria- Is the snow awesome at the lodge? How did you like the yoga ? I do a 60" yoga class once a week , and some informal yoga stretches on my own a few times per week.

Carole- We need a report on your Tofurkey; it sounds delish! Have a lovely day with your good sister! Will Mom be there?

Jackie- When is your half ? Did it warm up for your run?

Laura- Welcome to Cheetahville. The door and our listening ears are always open here! When is your half? I am hoping to do a half in March, if my feet cooperate.

Karen- If you check it today I am sending you hugs and prayers!

I did BM2 Boot Camp premix using the EXT for cardio after the first round. It seems I am having some other foot issues. ( same foot as PF symptoms) It is unclear if it is a bunion or Turf Toe. The symptoms are more consistant with Turf Toe, and I have been ignoring the pain and poor range of motion, since golf season. At this point, doing a lunge is almost impossible if the affected foot is in back. I will talk this over with DH and if needed see a podiatrist. I am thankful for our EXT. ***Sorry to be so self absorbed****

Just poppin in here again for a bit. The turkey is in the oven and in a bit I'll head on outdoors for a run. Did Gauntlet earlier and had a great time.

Laura- Welcome welcome!!!! We are always happy to have anyone join us!!! I hope you enjoy the chatting enough to maybe even stick around after your half marathon. In the meantime we are all very glad to give you whatever advice and support you need for your upcoming half marathon. Where is this race anyway? Flat or hilly?

Judy- Turf toe??? I gotta look that one up! sounds tho like a podiatrist may be a good idea. I did the BM2 BC premix on Monday... the day after my marathon.... yes I am insane but you already knew that! Today was Gauntlet.

Christine- Great idea to have separate friends and family thanksgivings. I think Gloria is doing that as well. Great choice for a turkey day workout.... Have Mercy!!

Laura- I just wanted to add that I remember you from the 07 Cathe Roadtrip and that you came all the way from Uganda! Are you in the states now or still in Uganda?

anyway.... welcome again!

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL of our lovely Cheetahs! I, too, am very thankful for all of you guys! I truly am. :D :D

Laura - Welcome! It is great to have you here! Look forward to getting to know ya! Good job on your 5 mile run! You will have plenty of support for your 1/2 marathon training with the group!

Shelly - It is actually PowerBar Endurance drink mix. But, I will definitely let you know what I think of it! I am going to try some of the Cliff Bars, too.

Judy - I hope your foot gets better! YOu sure have been havning a lot of trouble with that foot! You are absolutely not being self absorbed! Is Turf Toe from where your toe kind of gets drug on the turf and stoved?

Wendy - Good job with your 3.54 miles with Grace!

Christine - Thanks for the Lucky Jeans info! I will definitely check that out! Sorry you are stuck indoors today, but enjoy your ride!!~

Gloria - Did your tights come in? DH got a Trout Unlimited hat and shirt in the mail yesterday and it made me think of you :D

Cathy - Hormones went through my mind, too! When I was first starting to have fluctuations….in my late 30’s, I would get worse than normal migraines, as well as insomnia. The insomnia has gotten better this year, thank goodness! I would go through spells of waking up in the middle of the night and not be able to go back to sleep….or I would wake up every 15 minutes or so. It was no fun! My doc put me on hormones and it helped tremendously with all of that…but I was afraid of the hormones and stopped them.

Wendi - enjoy Imax 2~ Good job on Clean Max! I used to not be very sentimental regarding TG. But now, since Dad and Mom are both gone, I really get sentimental!

Jackie - I love your little smileys! How cute!

Wendy - Here, here! I agree with what you said about enjoying to our heart’s content today and enjoying our loved ones!

Carole - Enjoy your legwork and run! I would love to taste your Tofurky!

Posh, Dallas and everyone else - Hey there!

And again, I agree with each and everyone of you! I am so fortunate to have found you guys! You have truly been such a blessing to me!

Thursday I did a 4 mile run and all of Squeeze Stronger. It was a lot of fun and a burner, for sure!

This morning was a 7 mile run outside. It started out cold, but ended up around 40ish...so it was good! :)

Talk to you guys later!

Linda

Linda

Just finished GS BS&B and the abs from Squeeze Stronger.

Karen - Thinking of you and hoping all is well with you and your family. I hope your mom is doing better. Take care!

Hi Cheetahs! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Carole - Thanks for the tofurkey recipe. Good job with the weights and 6 mile run. Your TG dinner sounds yummy. My mom made some stuffing just for me.

Shelly - Yay for having the night off! What a nice surprise for you! Glad your recovery is going so well for you. Thanks for the advice on running the half. RP has been slowing pushing the pace on me. He tried to get me at an 8:00 min pace this morning but I couldn't hold it. Our last run together before the race will be Saturday.

Laura - Welcome to the Cheetah den! Always great to see new faces. You've come a long way already. Good job with the 5 miles! I'm doing a half on Dec. 6.

Christine - I went to my mom's today. She did the turkey and dressing and everyone else brought side dishes. Didn't have to worry about a lot of clean up like that. How was your inside bike ride? Thanks for the tip about Lucky Jeans.

Judy - My half is Dec. 6. Only a week to go. I'm so grateful to have a running partner that will help me keep a good pace. The weather was just perfect this morning. Hope it's like that for the race. Sorry for the foot issues. Hope they improve and not hamper your training.

Linda - Great job on your runs! Nice weather is such a motivator.

RP and I started out with the intentions of running 3 miles but we ended up doing 4 miles along with the dog. He tried to push my pace a little more and we ended up with a 9:25 pace. I came home and cranked out another 2 miles on the treadmill and did Cathe's Basic Stretch. We have 3 miles planned for Saturday. So, I really want to push the pace again.

Want to see if I can find some Christmas movies. Enjoy your night.
