Cathlete
Good morning, cheetah babes!

My internet is acting funky - it's been out since most of yesterday afternoon and has been temperamental this morning, so if you don't see me for awhile, you know that's it.

Christine :: how'd your hair turn out? Did you go considerably shorter?

Wendy :: how was the party & dancing after?

Carole :: I can't believe you haven't tried BC yet!!!! :eek: :7

I plan to make an early run to Target (beat the crowds) and then later today will be legs & core plus a run.

That catches me up with personals. Hope everyone has a GREAT Sunday and great workouts!

BBL (I hope!)

Good morning everyone!

I am back! I had a great vacation, but I have sooo much to do to get ready for the work week!

I haven't got to read any of last week's posts, but I hope to do that a little later! I hope everyone is doing well and that you had a good week!

I still didn't receive my DVD's. Oh well. Hopefully, soon!

Cathy - I hope your internet doesn't stop working!

Talk to you guys later!

Linda

Good morning cheetahs! I wasn't able to check in and get my cheetahfix yesterday:( Just got too busy with work. It's been pretty mellow tonight though:) After work I plan on stopping by my
favorite lakeside trail for a 5-6 mile run:7 :7
I'd like to get in a good total body weight workout after my nap today. I'll mostly likely be exploring some of the premix options of the 4DS series.

Cathy- Have you recuperated from your hell week? Doing a leg/core w/o with the new series or something else? Hope you have a successful Target trip. That's the nice thing about working off shifts and weekends.... I can shop during the week with less crowds!

Lori- Sorry you're having problems with side stitches :( Those are from spasms in the diaphragm and are usually from breathing too shallow. Hope these resolve for you soon!

Wendy- I guess you are a true veteran runner now with your black toenail. I got a kick out of perusing yesterday's posts:p I'm embarrassed to admit I have never even come close to losing a toenail.
I guess I haven't suffered enough;-) I'd love to see a pic of Joey as Elmo!!

SunnyD- Great job on the 10 miler yesterday!

Carole- I love your idea of tacking on the 20 min iClimbs to the 4DS cardios!

Christine- I didn't know your DH ran also! Sounds like you had a great family trail run yesterday!

Linda- Welcome back!! I hate all the catching up work after a vacation! Hope you can get it out of the way quickly!

Duty calls now. I'll do my best to check in again later today

Good Morning!:)

We decided to go out last night so I am in slow motion today. I only had 2 drinks but I didn't get as much sleep as I wish I could have had.Im sure I will manage and if I need to, i will get a nap at some point today.

Cathy** Since moving we have wireless internet and it drives me insane. Its always kicking me off so everytime I write something, I copy it, just to make sure I don't lose it.

Linda** Im the newbie:) :) Its a great bunch here but hard to keep up with all the chatting! LOL

Sunny** Good job on the run!!!

Carole** Again, thanks for the info but of course I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I never get stitches so I don't know where they are comming from. Whatever it is was bothering me all day yesterday in my left side. We went out last night as well, but it was last min. I ended up wearing one of DD's witches costumes ! haha

Wendy** Sounds like you treated yourself? I don't buy much of that stuff but I drink what DH buys everytime he decides he is gonna workout and never does!:) Good job on the workout yesterday!

Christine** I wish DH would run with me! LOL Actuall...not run cause everyone knows how i don't want a running partner right now:) But I really wish he would do a weight workout with me, i think he would be pleasantly surprised!

I hope I caught up on all the personalsI will try to post a pic os us dress up for Halloween as well. Im not sure what todays workout will be!!!!

Lori:)

Shelly, we posted at the sametime! LOL Thanks for the info!

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!:)

Well, we didn't end up going dancing but the party was fun and NO HANGOVER.:p

We didn't get home until well after 11pm. You can just imagine how exhausted DS was. He had fallen asleep in the car and wasn't happy when he was woken up to go up to bed. He had a mini-meltdown. ;(

I ended up being a marathon runner. LOL I wore my cheetah shirt, with appropriate pants and running kicks. I put on the bib from my half and wore my garmin and my running hat. It was easy to figure out what I was and I was soooo comfy! Couldn't have asked for a better costume!:) DH ended being a farmer/country bumpkin type. He wore overalls, a white tshirt, work boots and baseball cap. He looked uber goofy!:7 We took a couple pics of Elmo so I'll post them over the next couple of days. :)

So I've completed a 4DS week. Today will either be a run, yoga or a rest day. Such decisions! Knowing me, since I've only worked out 4 days this week so far, I will probably hit the run. I am supposed to be adding yoga into this rotation so that should happen tmrw making tuesday a rest day. We'll see what happens though!:p

Cathy: Sorry your internet was down. I was wondering what happened to you. Thanks for the heads up. This way we won't have to send someone out lookin' for ya if you don't pop back in today!;)

Linda: Glad you had an awesome vacation. They always end too soon, don't they? DH and I are about to book a little weekend getaway over Veteran's Day weekend. We have been going back and forth about what to do (Poconos, Phila, NY state, etc)but I think I really want to do the city thing. Ultimately I want to do a night/weekend in NYC but we are going to ask for part of that as a Christmas gift since it's soooo expensive. Phila isn't cheap but not as bad so I think we will do that. I am looking forward to it. DS will be staying with my inlaws most likely. :) Hope you get your dvds soon!!!

Shelly: Leave it to you to ruin our fun by telling us you've never lost a toenail!:p You really ARE too perfect when it comes to this work out stuff. Endless energy, can run like the wind (along side donkeys nonetheless!), world record stair climber and now this...miss never lost a toenail and I've been running for how many years!?!? }( Girl, you never cease to amaze me!:7 LOL

Lori: Well after the leg cramping incident at the half I swore that I would never let that happen again if I could help it so I went to buy something to help prevent that on long runs and I just kept pressing the "add to cart" button!:p I actually didn't even spend $40 so it wasn't bad. :) Hope you can catch a nap today!

Christine: Glad you, DH and Jimmy had a great trail run y'day. What's on tap for today? That's so great that you have not just one but TWO running partners! I'm so jealous!}( Thanks for the info on why pedis are good for runners! I think I will get one as soon as this cruddy nail is gone!}(

Sunny: www.hammernutrition.com HAVE FUN!}( ^5's on the 10 miler babe! Awesome job! Just curious...how long did it take you?? I took me something like 1:58 to do it during my training. I was a bit speedier during my half though.

Carole: I can't see myself even running upwards of 5 miles more then once a week unless I am training for something that requires it so I guess I am good with my sneaks. Thanks!:) Great idea for the 20 min IClimbs. I love my 20 min Itreads for quickie cardios. Not the best for me to use as add-ons since I have to go to the gym to run most of the time but I guess I still could use them that way. I would just have a "break" between work outs.

BBL!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...sorry about the internet funkiness. I would be lost without being able to play here. I will have to try out BC next week. Even the original BC I never did much...bizarre...:)..Enjoy shopping at Target and your leg workout and run.

Linda...welcome back!! We have all been enjoying the DOMS the new workouts are bringing!!

Shelly...hope you find a good total body workout after your lakeside trail run.

Lori..hope you can get in a nap. Glad you got to wear a witches costume. Did DH dress up?

Wendy...Good idea for the costumes. Can't wait to see pics of them and little Elmo. Shelly is lucky not to get the dreaded black toenail!! The times I have, it has been with too small of a shoe and running a lot of downhills in them.

I am planning on a 12 mile run by a river up here. My sister and I have decided to train more on our long runs, doing pavement instead of trails as the Las Vegas HM will be all pavement...I think! Also hoping to get the molding done, so I can get things back in place soon and take some pics. Then of course there will be football to watch...:)

Have a great day...http://bestsmileys.com/halloween1/5.gif[/img]

Hey Cheetahs!

Well, my hair is a lot shorter. I think she cut about 5/6 inches off! It’s now shoulder length. Do I like it? I’m not sure yet – it’s still weird to look in the mirror and not recognize the person looking back. Plus she makes my hair so full of static that I really need to do it myself before I really know. We’ll see. Today is yoga (Yoga for Happiness Magically Hips). Then it’s the dog park for Jimmy and football for us.

Cathy – Hope your internet starts acting well again! Sounds like a good workout! How was Target?

Linda – Glad you had a great vacation! Hope you get your DVD’s soon! They are fun!

Shelly – Work getting in the way of Cheetah time? Jeesh! ;) Glad last night was mellow. Enjoy your run! I love your reviews on the premixes, so keep ‘em coming! Yeah, DH run with me in all of the races, too. He actually got me into running. His brother has had 4 heart attacks and has diabetes. He’s avoided all of that and is very healthy because of his exercise routine – but you know all about that, being a nurse…

Lori – I hate that dragging feeling! Hope you “wake up” soon. Enjoy whatever workout you do. DH does weights at the gym, but I really would love to put together a routine for him as he just kind of does his favorite machines. He is impressed by Cathe, although he would never work out to videos. LOL

Wendy – YAY! No hangover! Love that! Glad you had fun. Your costumes sound cute – great idea on the marathon runner! Can’t wait to see the photos of Elmo! :p Go for a shorter run, and do ½ an hour of yoga afterwards… :+

Carole – Enjoy your run – sounds nice – and say Hi to your sis for me! Then yes, it’s Football!! Looks like the Red Sox are going to sweep the World Series so DH is happy. I was hoping the Rockies would win at least one game! Maybe tonight.

I’m off to start my day. I may even add in one of the cardios from 4DS. Depends on how I feel. Enjoy everyone!

Ended up doing LIS on a 6" step and kind of taking it easy. I did not even do the combo at the end. I followed that with Yoga for Happiness Maagically Hips and I feel fabulous. I needed that stretch! Off to shower and get ready to watch the Pats!

Good Afternoon!:)

I'm back. I ended up heading out to the park and doing a 3 mile trail run. It was SUPPOSED to be the same 5k route that I raced on Sept 1st but I took a wrong turn at about the 2 mile mark and had to then create my own way to go. LOL I stopped at 3 miles cuz I was running out of options for a non-paved route. I figure it's good practice for my upcoming race.}(

I'll be back a little later on for personals.

BFN!:)

Christine....it sure does look like the Red Sox will sweep! I didn't pay much attention to the World series this year. I am happy for your DH! I bet your new haircut looks cute...:)...Good job with LIS.

Wendy...aren't those creative runs fun!! Trail running would be great practice for your 15K.

Well...so much for my run with my sister and friend. My so called "Smart Clocks" decided to change the time, so as I thought I woke up at 5:15 it was really 6:15 and I was not close to being ready to go at 7. So I told my sister to go ahead and run without me as I was not going to make them wait!! I headed out here figuring on going about 12...but decided to try running a HM so I knew I could do the distance. I did have to run home about 9 miles to pee. I know TMI but glad to know I was not dehydrated!! I did stop my watch then and then another time when I was trying to help a neighbor with a lost dog. But I made the 13.1 miles at a 10:19 pace (total 2:15:08) and I am very happy about that. I might be able to do the LV HM at a 10 min pace...:)...off for some Football..

Hello ladies,

thanks for all of the congratulations!!!

today is my rest day, wooohooo!! although i don't really get to rest:-( . we got up early and went to the early service and i am now in the middle of cooking meals for the week. also have some laundry to fold...ahhh, a women's work is never done.

just wanted to pop in and say HI!!:)

Hello again dear cheetahs! I had a really great lakeside trail run this morning. Made it 6 miles and ran comfortably at a 9:30 pace:)
My quads were still burning some though so I think I'll just do upper body work from the 4ds series this afternoon and I think I'll throw in the BC cardio just cuz it's so fun!

Cathy- Hope you're not having internet troubles!

Wendy- Well, I may not have been troubled by black toenails, runners knee or other common running problems but I'm certainly NOT indestructable! I was sidelined quite a bit last year with a serious injury! Of course I don't get the run of the mill injury... what happens to me??? A groin pull!! WTF!! I thought only football players get those! Anyway, I'm very happy to hear that you have decided to do that trail race! You'll have such fun I'm sure. Great practice today too!

Christine- LOL about being irritated that work gets in the way of cheetahtime:eek: :p The nerve of those patients!! (I'm kidding of course!) OOOOH a new look for you! I bet you look sassy and sexy
:* :* :* I really should make some time for yoga! I know it's good for me and I wish I had your discipline.

Carole- I guess those smart clocks aren't so bright after all! I wonder if alot of people were caught off guard by that today. At least it's a Sunday. That's a nice plan you and your sis have about training on pavement. I have a dilemma though. Where I live all of the roads are hilly!!! The LV course is flat so I'd like to get in a good amount of training on a relatively flat course.
The only fairly flat course around here that goes for some distance is a dirt trail. So should I run on pavement and hills or flat on dirt? Which would be more valuable for this race?

Hi Sunny! Posting at the same time! Sounds like a pretty busy "rest" day for you!!!

I guess that catches me up. Alot of cheetahs busy elsewhere this weekend! Have a great one!

ShellyC

Hey all - I'm back from my shower and messing with my hair. I think I'll like it once I get used to it, and it certainly is easier and quicker to do - that's always a big plus! I walked downstairs and the first thing my DD14 said was "Wow, you look like Grandma!" Which is not exactly what a 40 something wants to hear, but hey, there are many worse things out there. What was funny that DD14 added on, "Of course, you don't have her double chin and you are thinner, but..." I just had to laugh.

Carole - Enjoy football! Sorry your smart clocks reset themselves! What a bummer! But great job on the half marathon you ran!

Shelly - I can guarantee that if you just make yourself do yoga 2-3 times a week for 3 weeks, you'll continue because your range of motion is better, your recovery time will become shorter, and you'll obtain a sense of well being you don't get even from other workouts. My little running/yoga experiment did me wonders. Enjoy your workout! Glad your run was good.

Question - I'm going to do a rotation like this for the next three weeks - do you see a problem with the all the weight work so close together?

yoga
4DBC/Legs and abs C&B
4DKB/KM Blasts/CK drill Bi's and Tri's
4DHIS/LIS Combo Premix Shoulders, Calves and Core
yoga
ciruit and core work
Run or hike

Hello folks.

Carole: Sorry your clock screwed you up and made you miss running with your sister. What a bum deal. Great job on running the HM distance at that pace though. You go girl! To borrow the phrase from our fellow Catheite Lorie...You are gonna rock this HM!:+
Enjoy your football!

Shelly: So you get one little groin pull and you think you will get sympathy from me!?!? :p ;) :7 I'm only teasin' ya! I remember that groin pull now that you mention it and yes, that was a bad one. Sorry you had to go through that. It had to suck!...I STILL want you to get a black toenail though! Will ya try to make it happen during the LV HM for me, please? Pretty please, will ya, hmmmm, for me??? :+ :7 :7 :7

Sunny: A woman's work is never done is soooo true! I hope you get it all done so that you have some time to enjoy your Sunday! :) DH is outside cutting the grass while I sit in the house enjoying the forums and some coffee...I LOVE IT!:p

Christine: LOL at your DD's comments about your hair. I do hope you like it though. I can relate to how much easier shorter hair is to handle. My hair was uber short for a while and it was great but then I just got tired of it so I let it grow it out. I don't see myself getting it cut THAT short anytime soon though I may do the shoulder length thing one day. :) Your rotation looks ok to me. As long as you are working different body parts every day, I don't see a problem with it all being on back to back days personally. In regards to your suggestion for a short run + yoga today it sounded great in theory but I am not keen on doing yoga immediately following another work out. I like to feel fresh and UNsweaty when I start yoga. I can make it a 2nd work out for the day but it's got to be separate from whatever else I do. I am planning it for tomorrow though.

We are going to eat at Outback Steakhouse when DH gets finished mowing the lawn and takes a shower. I told him we have to go out to eat cause there's no food in the house :p so he picked the place. I'm not a big steak eater but I do like their chicken dishes so it's cool. Better then having to cook!:7

Tomorrow calls for yoga and ladies...it's been too long since I've done yoga. PLEASE don't let me squirm out of it!!!!!

Okay, BBL!

Sunny: You should come up here and run with me and Cathy. We all seem to run around the same pace! Perhaps we can gtg and do an HM together one day like they are doing in Vegas this year!:)
