::: CHEETAHS ::: Sunday smiles

Hi Cheetahs! I'm back!

Thanks for the good luck vibes. I do believe they worked!!! I finished in an unofficial time of 1:41:39!!!!! WOO HOO! I ended up only walking as needed and all that turned out to be were a minute each of up the 2 steepest hills and a few seconds each at maybe 3 water stops! I basically ran the entire freakin' thing! I can't believe it! I am soooo psyched!:7 :7 :7

The scenery was gorgeous. It started and ended in a park but it was mostly street running in a very serene and park-like area. Beautiful! The hills were there but they weren't bad at all for the most part. The 2 hills I ended up walking part of were pretty steep and I NEEDED to walk part of them or I would not have made it. LOL At one point a deer came out of the woods and shot across the road in front of me. Scared the bejesus outta me! When I heard the leaves rustling and saw something moving I thought it was a dog at first and that frightened me. When I realized it was a deer I was fine. I just hoped it didn't turn and run towards ME in a panic. It didn't. ;) Some of the terrain was a bit rough in the park and with in the first few mins of the race I tripped on a tree root and ALMOST went down. x( Thank goodness that terrain was only a very small portion of the race. We also ran on dirt/gravel roads. They got a little tricky where the gravel was thick...especially on the downhills. I definately had to pay attention at times during this race but it wasn't bad overall. So there ya have it, folks! After all of my "panicking", I am happy to say it was all for nothing and I will be glad to sit back and read the dozen "I told you so's" that are bound to be comin' at me now! LOL :p

I am sore and tired but no cramps, no black toenails and if I can say this w/o sounding conceited (cause I'm soooo not!)...I'm very very proud of me!:+ :+ :+

Wendy,
I am SOOOOOOO proud of you!!!! You are an inspiration. You should definitley be proud of yourself. Aren't you so glad that there are so many pushy cheetahs? Congrats!!!

Susan

Wendy – WOOO HOOOO!!!!! WAY TO GO GIRL!!! What a great time! And it sounds like you really enjoyed the race!! You should be darned proud of yourself, girl, you deserve it! I’m just happy you ran the race.

Shelly – I was going to the gym about once every other month. I have everything I need at home, and I’m not into the social aspect that DH is. So, hopefully I’ll have my EXT soon! One more week ‘til you and Carole race eh? I so wish I could be there to see it – our two Super Cheetahs together in a run! Hope you enjoyed ASCII!

Jackie – enjoy your rest day! I already have a trainer for my bike, so I pretty much have a spin bike (and it’s a more true cycling experience), I hate treadmills, so if I get the EXT I’ll be set!

Lori – I actually have to admit that I probably would not be as active as I am if DH were not so active. He got me into running (I got him into racing). We’ve also hiked Mt Whitney together, and even did an Inn-to-Inn hiking vacation in Switzerland – which we would love to repeat in the Italian Alps. I’m really lucky in that way.

Cathy – iClimbs do fit in nicely with a P90X or a faux P90X rotation… Hint, hint … :p
Judy – Enjoy your rest day. I’ll have to push DH now. Y’all are enabling me!!! :p

Susan – that first Christmas without Mom is tough. My dad will be coming out here for this Christmas. I’m glad you get to visit your dad. My DH has the lights up be he wants me to wait until I get back from Chicago to put up the tree. I’m fine with that. I can still go to the gym and pay $10 when I do – so it’s much cheaper for me to go like that. Enjoy your night out with DH tonight! Sounds like fun!!!

I did LIS (including the combo’s and y’all know how I feel about those). Then Amy’s APX Upper Body with some core (I did a lot of core yesterday). I got done, realized I still had some energy so I did part of SJP Step. Dh came back from a run with the dogs in the middle of the SJP Step workout, and I was tripping over happy wet dogs, so I figured I may as well stop. I’m enjoying some chili now, then I’m heading for the showers and to finally finish up my grocery shopping!

Enjoy all – and again – WAY TO GO WENDY!!!! You have come SOOO far.

Great race Wendy!!!!

Thank you Susan, Christine and Judy!

I said this is in the O/D thread that our dear Cathy started just to embarrass me :p :7 ;) but I think it bears repeating here...

I owe soooo very much of my running accomplishments to the Cheetahs! You are a fantastic group of women. You are so unbelievabely supportive. I've never come across such comradere in my life before. If not for you I could very easily have given up my quest to become a runner as it was one of the toughest fitness goals I ever set for myself! It was a struggle for me and you all helped me through it. I never imagined running a half and thanks to all of the support, I've done it! Then today, I ran a race that I was soooo close to bagging out of fear/nervousness but you all had faith in me and pushed me (in the nicest way you knew how) to get out there and do it! As it turns out I ran it in a fantastic time and had a fantastic time doing it! I love coming here and sharing my accomplishments with you all. I love coming here and sharing in all of YOUR accomplishments. I love coming here and just being in the company of friends who share a common interest in fitness/running. It's so nice. THANK YOU!!!!!:)

Wendy :: no way would we ever think you’re conceited!!…again, GREAT job!!…and BTW, for the record, I definitely didn’t start that thread to embarrass you. Just wanted to give you your props!!! :) :) :) I admire your determination and mental toughness!…And the cheetah appreciation feeling is mutual.

Judy :: thanks for the iTrain info…that sounds like a good way to go.

Susan :: It’s good that you’ll be with your dad this Christmas…I have been thinking about you and how difficult it must be at the holidays…(((HUGS)))…Not just b/c of your mom but also b/c of Mary...how do you stay so strong??...crackin’ up about Chutes & Ladders always ending in tears…enjoy date night tonight!!

Christine :: I’m opting not to do another round of the X just yet…I’m back to hitting the legs hard, starting tomorrow.

Well, I took a long, solid nap and am now shaking off the grogginess before jumping on the EXT. Another Sunday's slippin' away quickly here.

Christine..the run today was nice...I hope you can make the quiche. My DH had some potatoes cooking when I got home and I had them with my quiche...he has been a keeper lately...:)...OMG yes! You would LOVE an EXT!!! I am making a Louisiana bean soup in the crock pot. Your veggie chili sounds great. WOW, you did have some energy...great workout.

Shelly...I know, we can't check in til 3 either, so I guess we will hang out in the bar??....:)..The run was relaxing, only went about 7 miles. The expo sounds fun. We will have to call and keep in touch, you do still have my cell #?

Jackie..I know as I have avoided the OF myself, but this was way insensitive. But Cathy helped...:)..enjoy your rainy rest day and church.

Lori..good job with your 10 miles. I am a horrible slow typer...

Cathy...way to go with the X-mas shopping...I like your old smiley too for the OF...http://mylalclass.com/stfu.gif[/img]

Judy...avoiding the OF could be a good thing.

Susan...wow! decorated already??? Way to go...I know X-mas without your Mom will be sad...she would want you and your family to be happy though...:)..You are so right about the OF...

Wendy...http://www.deepbox.com/media/i/EHwdgnxiqqBoist.gif[/img] you did so AWESOME!!!!! I have been scared a few times by deer myself! I can't tell you how happy I am you enjoyed your 1st trail run. ahhh Wendy, your next post gave me some tears....it is really great to have this kind of support. But, YOU are the one that did the run, and that is something to be so proud of.

The run was fun and about 7 miles as we checked out a new trail. I am having some pain on my left side. Almost feels like the top part of my IT band where it attaches to my upper thigh. Luckily I get a massage tomorrow and will let her now so she can massage the YKW out of it! Can you believe it?? The Raiders actually won one....:)

Wendy - Yaaayyy! That is so good! I am so proud of you! I truly don't think anyone would think you're conceited for being proud of that! That is great! The route sounded beautiful!

Cathy - I am for opening the gifts on the same day! I will just go with whatever day you guys decide on. I like the idea of Christmas.....but a few may not be near their PC, etc. But....any day is fine with me! The 15th sounds good too! Just keep me posted!

Christine - Good job on your workout! I can just picture the wet, happy doggies stumbling all over each other, you and the step! :) Yummy! The chili sounds good! All I ever think about is food!:+

Susan - Enjoy your date night! That sounds cool! Lol...You will be able to relax and breathe for a bit tomorrow! That is great that you have your tree up! I am glad you will be with your dad for Christmas, but I do know it is going to be very hard without your mom this year. You will be in my prayers.

Carole - I hardly ever go to OD Forum anymore because I used to get so upset with some of the theads! I like the "silly Putty hammer" thought! I will "visit" so that I can see what is going on, though! :+ I love the thoughts of a 10-12 mile trail run! It sounds sooo peaceful! No cars whizzing by, or nosy neighbors, etc! Enjoy!

Judy - Enjoy your rest day!

Lori - Great job on your 10 mile run! I know...it is not very exciting on the TM....but I just did not want to go outside in the cold, either!!;-)

Lorie - Bad Cheetah! ;-) ;-) (Just kidding!). Enjoy your subscription, though! I love RW! that is great that you finally got some rain! I hope you guys get out of the drought situation soon!

Sunny - Did you enjoy your run? Did you go outside or use your treadmill?

Shelley - LOL..yes, me falling would have been something funny to have on video! I can laugh now, after the fact! Believe it or not, the dreadmill was actually pretty good yesterday, along with my iTreads and other music! Enjoy ASCII! It "is" very hard to believe that marathon is only a week away!

Today I ran 4 miles on the TM (yes, the one that tried to kill mex( ) and did 4DS C&B and the Shoulders section and the core. I love 4DS!

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening and "Hey" to anyone I may have missed or that checks in later!

Linda

OK, iClimb #3 (40 min.) in the bag. I am dripping! Polar says I burned 426. Not bad. For those of you who do the iClimbs, how many times a week do you do them?

Carole :: *lol*...Yeah, that is a good one, isn't it?...Glad you enjoyed your run but sorry about the ITB. Hope it gets worked out tomorrow.

Linda :: glad you had an uneventful experience on the TM this time around...Looks like 4-3 in favor of opening our gifts on X-mas day. Either way's OK by me.

OK, gotta go get cleaned up!

Jackie - How on earth did I miss you? :+ Hope you had a wonderful rest day and great Sunday!

Carole - I think I found what you were referring to. That was not good at all :-(

Lori - Good job on the 10 miles!

Cathy - You're doing good with the Christmas shopping. I've only bought one thing. Since I plan on doing a lot of on line shopping and slipping a little cash in the stockings, I should be fine. When I get back to my regular workouts, I like to include the iClimbs at least 2 x per week.

Judy - Hope you enjoyed your rest day too.

Susan - I'm not ready to pull the decorations out yet. Hope the spirit will hit soon. Enjoy date night. Sounds like fun!

Wendy - WTG!! Congratulations!! Knew you could do it!! The deer would have scared me too. Good thing others were around. I must confess I didn't get a black toenail with any of my races this year either. So happy about that! Proud of you too! Guess we need each other to bring out what we know is there. Sweet post from you.

Christine - It's good that your hubby is active. I'm sure you both motivate one another. What a workout for you today!

Carole - Laughing at your hubby being a keeper lately. :) About time he straightened up, huh? :) Glad you had a good run. Hope the pain is nothing serious.

Linda - Glad you let that treadmill know who the boss is and got in a good 4 mile run.

Still raining here and it's supposed to rain tomorrow too. I was thinking that through all of my races, I only had to run in the rain once.

Enjoy your evening.

Jackie

I'm back and going to try to catch up with personals so that I'm not going crazy tomorrow trying to do them. :)

Lorie: I wouldn't worry too much about the grab bag goof. I'm sure you got excited when you saw the good deal they were offering and just forgot that you had asked for it already. Innocent enough mistake!

Christine: Loved the story about tripping over happy dogs when you were doing SJP. I would love to come to your house and just play with your pups for hours!:+

Shelly: Good job on your 10 miler. I can't believe the HM is a week away! OMG! Who all is going?? Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!:)

Jackie: I'm sure the folks at Church still recognized you. ;) I bought the Itrain membership for $79.99 and got an email for the discounted price a week later! I was PISSED but there was nothing I could do. x( It's STILL an excellent deal either way. I'm so glad I did it. I intend to re-up it when it expires.

Lori: 10 miles in 95 minutes? Nice job!

Susan: Hope you get some rest this week now that the Bickersons are going back to school!;)

Cathy: I know you didn't start the O/D thread to embarrass me. I'm just bustin' chops. :) That kind of stuff DOES embarrass me but it's cool nonetheless and I really appreciate it! Thanks!:+ I had to LOL at the leatherman comment on that thread! Nice come back!:7

Carole: Enjoy tomorrow's massage. Sounds like great timing for it. I hope she nips the pain in the bud so it doesn't progress.

Linda: LOL at the one that tried to kill me comment!:7 I adore the 4DS shoulder routine. It's so intense! }(

Ok, I think I'm pretty well caught up now so it's off to bed with me. I'm beat. My ankle is bothering me a bit. Sore. It started bugging me in the last mile of the race today. I hope it's not anything serious. Perhaps just a bit of an overuse injury that will take care of itself with some rest.

Night-night wonderful Cheetahs!:)
