Good Morning Friends!:)

Well, no run for me this morning. Up too late to beat the heat. That's okay though. I have to do Ripped so I think I will just do that and then go for my run tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is supposed to be my rest day but I will throw in the extra run to test the new shoes outside :+ and then I will rest on Monday. :)

Today is BBQ day...should be fun regardless of the ridiculous heat we are expecting.

Have a great day ladies...I'm sure I'll be back at some point!;)

ETA: OOPS! I just realized that Monday is my class so I can't TRULY rest! YIKES! I may have to re-think my plan!

Toodles!:7

Good morning cheetahs

Wendy...no, Mizunos are a good brand, I just have not tried them yet. I hope you like yours..:) Good treadmill run yesterday...I hope the shoes do well on your 1st outside run in them...have fun at your BBQ!

Elaine...your rest days are nice...:)...I am with you and Shelly...rest days are tough for me too. And I'll have one today as it is about a 5 hour drive to San Jose so no time for a workout this morning...:(

Welcome back Christine! You are so sweet. I sent you an email about this weekend. I do hope we can meet up for a trail run, that would be so fun! Sounds like you had a great time in Hawaii. The dancing men sound very, very nice...:)..and I bet your own Aussie missed you lots...

Colleen...thank you...you have been doing well building up your miles. Can you run as soon as the sun comes up?..I wouldn't think running in 100 degrees would be real great.

Shelly...good run maintaining that pace!!! I do love those GS workouts...you have alot of useful info! Christine is a very sweet and generous lady...I hope I can meet up with her.

Yadi...Good workout yesterday...I like doing the premixes on Push Pull...:)

I did find out some misinfo about my nephew. T11 which I had been told was shattered , was NOT! I guess the vertebrae there were damaged so the surgery was to repair them. I will of course know more when I get home Sunday. For John, the days have been better so it'll be nice to see him. We leave about 8:30.

Have a great weekend cheetahs...:)

Carole- TG that your nephew's T11 is not shattered. I missed the forum the last two days, I hope his progress is positive.

Wendy- ah summer BBQ's are fun! I hope you like the shoes for your outside run

I only did the two extremely hilly runs this week. But the good news is that I did Gauntlet and Hardcore Extreme #3 for cross trainning and the fun factor was super. I have to comment that I believe runnig has really helped my endurance for Cathe intervals. HC x#3 and Gauntlet were not as hard as in my pre-runing days. During the recovery phases of Imax2 intervals of Gauntlet I mostly did jumping jacks to keep going.

Starting Monday, my runnig buddies will reunite again. I admit I have been afraid to run my routine routes alone in case of strangers. And the new routes around my new town are a mix between neighborhoods and wooded areas. Did anyone catch Nancy Grace this week about the Woman who was an avid bike rider and was found on her regular route murdered and naked? This was enough to make me a firm believer of the buddy system.

Edit: I never got a chance to get back on the forums yesterday. It was my plan to check in after my workout, but I had too many things going all day long. please forgive :)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Carole - Never got your email. Can you resend to [email protected]? Thanks! I'd love to meet up for a trail run! That would be a blast. Won't be able to keep up with you, though! Good news about your nephew! Sounds like he's coming along well!

Wendy - trying to figure out schedules can be challenging eh? I hope you work it out!

Judy - oh yeah, I noticed a huge improvement in my cardiovascular conditioning when I started running again. I fast forward through the breaks in IMax2 - my HR either does not get that high to begin with or comes down quickly. IMax 3 I still go for all of the "breaks", though. :)

Not sure what's on the agenda for today. DH is going to the San Jose Grand Prix today at 11:00, so the hike we had planned is out, but I do want to get in a few miles, so we'll see. I'm sore from Power Hour - those endless squats in the beginning got me, even with only using a 30 pound barbell! But it's a good sore. I'll check back when I know what I do.

Have fun all!

Carole: Great news about your nephew!:)

Judy: I did not hear that story about the biker. That is sick and sooo very scarey. :-(

Christine: DOMS is a wonderful thing, ey? }(

I decided to call it quits with Ripped today. I think I will try for a short out door run only tomorrow morning, weights and my running class on Monday and then a rest on Tuesday. I'll be up to 8 days w/o a rest at that point but I've done it before and have been fine. :)

Good morning ladies,

I slept until 8 o'clock this morning!! I think my workout week that started with a 17 mile run left me a little tired so I went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept straight through. All I have on my agenda for today is a 5 mile pace run and if I have time I'd like to hit my upper body with a MM premix or PUB.

Christine, Remember how I said I was over the trauma of my Sonama 1/2 weekend? Well, I take that back........ In yesterday's mail I received a notice from Bay Area Fastrak to pay $31.00 because they said I didn't pay the $3.00 toll at the Benicia-Martinez toll booth!! I am so pissed and am contesting it of course. Man, the weekend won't stop haunting me! Oh, it was great meeting you though!! My friend Kathy emailed me a picture of the two of us. I'll send it on to you in a bit....

Carole, Glad to hear that the news about your nephew seems to be getting better with each of your reports. I'm praying that you'll have more positive things to relay once you get back from San Jose. Give Christine a hug for me!!! And I also somehow knew that your rest days looked somewhat like mine! They're probably a bit harder though! They don't call you Super Carole for nothing.....

Wendy, Are you hosting the BBQ? For who? OK, OK, tell me more about the Ripped DVDs. I feel like I'm missing out on something!!! LOL!! Are they full body workouts? Endurance type? Details! I want details!

Judy, I didn't see Nancy Grace but if I had it would only reinforce my paranoia about running through sparsley populated areas. Part of one of my regular routes goes through a very brushy area adjacent to a campground and I NEVER run through there alone. I have pepper spray but frequently forget to take it with me. So glad to hear that you have the good sense to avoid potentially unsafe areas.

Talk to ya'll later!

Hey Cheetahs-
It's been a long time, but I'm back from Germany! Am a little bit lost in all that's going on here at the moment, but I'm sure I'll catch up in a couple of days. I hope you've all been well.

I had a GREAT time on my trip and am happy to say I stuck to my training while away, running and going to the gym several times per week. Not only did I not gain any weight (a miracle?) but I even lost another 2 lbs. Woohoo!!

I don't have picture trail, but I'm wondering if there's some way I can post a link to my pics...Will check into that and give it a shot next time I'm here.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hey All!:) I'm just back from work and am on a 2 week vacation from the spa. I'll work at the clinic next week and take a full week off starting Friday. I got in a 4K run this morning and was very happy with my time 24:10 but man it was hot and that was at 8:00! It was a heavy hearted day at the spa, the Spa Director (41 years old) found out yesterday that he has an 11 cm. suspicious mass attached to his kidney, they are doing CT and bone scans to have a better look, he'll have surgery early next week. His lungs are clear which is great. Boggles my mind that 6 days ago we were sitting on a dock together enjoying a beautiful day and today he is in fear for his life, sometimes life as we know it feels so fragile and tenuous. Health is such a precious gift and I feel blessed and humbled to be able to savour and nurture it by challenging my body.

Wendy, I hope your BBQ is a blast despite the heat, enjoy!:D How's your knee doing?

Carole, I hope you have a nice visit with John and that his spirits remain high. So glad he is progressing:)

Judy, I'm new to the check in and am wondering where you moved from/to. Re-locating is an 'adventure' to say the least, we've lived in 4 different cities in the past 10 years and it has stretched me in ways I never imagined, I've sure met some wonderful people along the way! That's awesome that the really tough workouts are feeling 'easier' since running, great work!!

Christine, welcome back!!! Haven't done all of PowerHour in a while, sounds like it gave you a good kick in the pants}( Enjoy that 'good sore', I do like my DOMS as well, let's me know I'm doing it right:)

Elaine, that sounds like a heavenly sleep! Hope you had a good run, I ended up doing ME abs yesterday and thought about you, it sure does get the job done!

Cathy! That's fantastic that you stayed commited through your vacation and shed a few pounds. I'll definitely keep up with my training, it's the eating that I'll have to watch, summer's always easier for me to keep the weight down, winter's a whooole different story!

I'd better map out my 12k for tomorrow (with hills Elaine!;-) ), my running group runs at about 8:45, I hope to be almost finished my run by then.

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hey all!

Looks as if I'll be taking Carole on an 11 mile trail run. It's a tough one - but I know she'll handle it with ease (me - I'm just hoping I can keep up with her!). I'm really stoked at being able to meet her! I did speak to her for a while - she sounds exactly like you would expect - warm, caring, sweet and full of fun. I just wish the circumstances were better. She'll be heading home tomorrow night - and will have computer access then. So she'll be able to tell you just how lame I am *winks*.

Elaine - I can't wait to see the photos! I so enjoyed meeting you! I swear - all of us Cheetahs on the West Coast HAVE to plan a race together soon. Or just a BBQ (Vegan and non) at my place with families. Okay - I do extend that to ALL Cheetahs, of course.
