*taps foot impatiently*

Where the heck is Lorie!?!?!

I want to read her race report before I have to leave for my mom's!!!!!!

Lorie, get your butt in here and tell us all about it NOW!!!!!!

:p :7 :p :7 :p :7 :p :7

I echo Susan's sentiments.

Cheetahs are the BEST!

I love every one of you and am thankful I can come to this thread every day and be in the "company" of so many wonderful, funny, caring women.

It is a different type of situation but believe me when I say that you ladies are just as important to me as my "3 D" friends are!

HUGS TO ALL!!!!!:)

i just got back a bit ago and haven't read anything but wanted to post about the race. when we got to the start, it wasn't raining so we were feeling pretty thankful. then, just as they were ready to start us, it started to rain. i felt good and when they called the 1 mile split i was 8:34. then, i ran 9's until the rain started to get really bad (and of course the wind had to be going AGAINST us!). it was pouring and the wind was blowing so hard i actually blew into someone!!! my clothes were so heavy!!! i was wearing a pretty heavy long sleeve running shirt and winter running pants. not to mention that my feet were sloshing around in my shoes!!! i got to 9 and saw i was at about 91 minutes and knew i wasn't going to beat my 2:05 PR, so i just ran and enjoyed it. i even walked for almost a mile because i was a little tired and i felt like it! :) it was nice not to have the time pressure because i already knew i wasn't going to PR. i was soaking wet when i finished but felt great.

DF met me at the 5 mile mark and walked with me for a second. it was a nice boost to see him. of course, he was at the end as well.

get this...the friend i ran with who had NEVER run a half or run anything more than a 5K before she started training for this...she ran it in 1:53!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's AMAZING! i don't think i could ever do that. i just want to break 2 hours (even if it's 1:59).

my official race time isn't up, but according to my watch i finished in 2:10. i don't know what my chip time is. i'm sure the results will be up later.

anyway, i thought of you guys the whole way.

wanted to update everyone. i am going to try and get warm and relax for a bit. i hope to be back later to read and do personals.

thanks for being my motivation and inspiration, cheetah women!

YAY, Lorie! Way to go! Sorry about the rain but you obviously made the best of it and didn't let it get ya down. Good for you!

That's great about your friend. I think some people just have a natural talent for certain things and she is apparently one of those people!

Good morning Cheetahs! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Lorie - Sorry to hear the Expo wasn't good. I see they're having one before the St. Jude Marathon next week. Might be interesting to check it out. I don't think the number will jinx you at all. You will do great in the race. Good luck!! I know those race day jitters. Hope it's not raining.

Wendi - Glad you had an easy day yesterday. Great job on the 7 miles!

Christine - How could I forget about the roaring fire? So relaxing. How's the butt today? It's cold here too and still cloudy.

Wendy - Glad you had a good run yesterday! Feeling better? Enjoy your day at your mom's.

Cathy - I think the 4DS and Timesaver workouts are the perfect thing for the holiday. Since I'm having to cut 30 minutes off a couple of days a week, they're working perfectly. Can't wait to try BC. Your run sounds so peaceful.

Lori - Glad you had a good night at work. Good workout yesterday. Think I may take my card list to work tomorrow and get started. It should be a very quiet day.

Judy - Don't blame you for bagging the race today with the weather.

Shelly - I'm slowly recovering from all of the races. Think the 4DS workouts are just the ticket too. Hope you got in a few zzz's. Sounds like a busy time for you.

Sunny - Hope you had a good run.

Carole - Today will be interesting for me since I'm not doing the meat thing. Don't know what my menu will look like. Of course, I'm not doing any cooking. I'll see what my mom cooked up. Had a co-worker to bring me a smoked turkey. Had to tell him I would share it with my family because I don't do meat. But, thought it was nice of him. So, where do you find the tofurkey gravy? Know all about those hormonal changes. Hate them!x(

Linda - Enjoy your rest day and time with your family.

Susan - ITA about all the Cheetahs! Each of you have been an encouragement to me. Enjoy dinner with Mary and her family.

I did 4DS LIS. I'm doing the workouts without previewing. Once I get all the steps down, I can really put more into them. I like them so far.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Jackie

Lorie - Your post sneaked in there. Congratulations on finishing the race in a good time especially in the rain! I knew you would do great! An awesome job for both you and your friend! You deserve a nice relaxing day now.

Jackie

YAY LORIE!!! That's what a race is all about - getting out there and enjoying it. Sorry you missed your PR, but sounds like you had a great time. Congrats to your friend, too! Wow! I'm impressed!

Jackie - Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope your mom has plenty of great side dishes for you. I'm sure she will. I am doing the meat thing today, but as I've been eating too much rich meat lately, I'm going vegetarian for the next week. I need a break!!

Off to do 4DS Total Body - changed my mind again - figured I'd throw in the total body as I already did a full weight workout this week. And this will free me up to do a trail run or whatever tomorrow with DH. If I have the oomph, then I'll follow with a KBX premix.

Carole - LOL....that sounds so familiar! My DH gets up really early, but on the weekends, he goes and takes a long nap and during the week, he takes a "power nap" on his lunch hour. He goes home for lunch most days. I have HIKB, but I have never done it. Don't know why....I just have let is "sit".

Wendy - Great workout! That would really be tough, I am sure, doing yoga after weights! I haven't decided on "biggie" yet! }( If I had some vacation left this year, I would love to do LV! Maybe I can save a few days next year and do that one! I would like that one, because I am really familiar with things there and I think it would be loads of fun! But....I really have no idea what I will end up doing. Have you decided on one yet?

Lorie - Congratulations! That is great! You did awesome and so did your friend! Wow! The weather sounds......terrible! But you did good!

Jackie - Great job on 4DS LIS!

Susan - Enjoy your time with everyone and Mary. That is really nice! I hope you guys enjoy your time together! I really feel the same way about you and the girls here!

Christine - Enjoy 4DS and which ever workout you decide to do!

Oh my! I am sitting here, trying to type and I swear...honestly...I am nodding off because I am sooo tired! I think I will go take a nap! Have a wonderful day! I will try to BBL!

Linda

Susan! I missed your post - so sorry! Have a fabulous Thanksgiving with Mary and her family. I know she's thankful to have a friend like you. You're an amazing woman!

Linda - Enjoy your nap!

I ended up doing the 4DS Total body, skipping the last set of Bi/Tri exercises as I was fried. Then I got a wild hair and went for a 3 mile run. Jimmy was digging while I was lifting and he only does that when he needs a good run, so I took him on one. I think I'm ready for my Thanksgiving dinner now. Or I might just take a nap with Linda. :+

And I have to agree that Cheethas are a great group! I'm so thankful for the Cheetahs!! Without you wonderful, wonderful ladies, I would not have run 2 half marathons, tried all the new strength and cardio workouts I've done, and experimented with new ways of eating. You ladies are the absolute best and I am so grateful for each and everyone of of you!

Lorie-CONGRATS on finishing today! Great job. I think it's a great way to start TDay, hugh???

Mind if I join in quick, to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving (and to post race results of my own?)!!!!

First, SUSAN.....I saw YOU at my race today! LOL I would have SWORN on a stack of bibles that it was YOU! LOL But I passed you during my race and just waved and said 'see ya'! LOL

I'm just here, again, acting like a Cheetah. I had a 5K Pumpkin Pie Race this morning....my hometown's first EVER T-Day race. I was pumped! I KICKED BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! My goal was 25:00 (which was lofty to start with), and I finished in 23:55! WOO HOO! I hit mile 1 at about 7:05 and could NOT believe my pace. For a split second, the thought of crashing scared me, but I realized that I CAN run that pace....AND I DID! This course was AWESOME! It had 3 hills.....2 of them were VERY CHALLENGING. But I LOVE HILLS!!! I do VERY VERY well on hills! I kicked BOOTY today! I was so proud to see my family (who all also walked the 1 miler....mom, dad, sis, both DSs) at the finish line, mom holding up a HUGE sign! I won FIRST PLACE in my age group! FIRST PLACE! There were over 370 runners AND I TOOK FIRST PLACE in my group! That is a HUGE feat in and of itself! I was pumped up. There were tons of prized raffled off and each of the 6 of us won something!

It was a WONDERFUL and INSPIRING way to start my day off!

OK...I hope each and every one of you are enjoying your day..counting your blessings....realizing HOW LUCKY each of us is!

YOU LADIES ROCK!!!!!

Thanks for letting me crash your party! I'll be joining you ladies again SOON!
