Good morning, everyone!

Up early for my long run. It's still a bit too dark just yet.

Karen :: thanks for sharing with us...I'm glad writing about it helped relieve some of the stress...My heart goes out to you. Your family has really been through some medical trials & tribulations. And having that kind of ongoing worry eating you up inside must be taking a huge toll. Big (((HUGS))) to you! Please do keep us updated, and know that we're here for you.

Carole :: How does the smoke affect you during or after a run? Oops! Sorry about Beau's mishap.

Christine :: thinking of you & Kimo this morning.

Gloria :: thanks for the long run vibes :)...how was your hang with your friends last night?

Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday! BBL to report on my run.

Good morning lovelies!

Cathy - Have a great run today! How far ya going?

I'm in the process of catching up on yesterday's events over my java here. I don't have time to post personals right now cause I've got to find the butt glue remover and get to work. I should be back early evening though. Miss ya gals!

All I can say is that it was one looooooooooong day. Started at 3am and didn't get back to the barn until 8 last night:eek::mad:. I am runnin on empty right now, I can tell ya that.

One of the horses was great yesterday. It was the little mare that I call "Ms. Toad" that I rode for her first couple of shows...well, this was her first *real* show and she got great prizes. She was about as good as she can be so we're happy with that. The really good horse was way off his game this week so we used it as a good training day to set him up for next week. He did win one class but he just wasn't up to par and was in a rather foul mood yesterday morning. Hmph...I can't blame him . It was the third day in a row and he (and *I*) had had enough by then.

Let me wrap this very self centered post and get to it. I'm good for the personals later, I promise! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I hope the 14.5 goes well this morning. How is the humidity? The smoke has not seemed to affect me at all. But the air quality has really gotten bad. It was about 35 which is low on the scale. But due to the weather conditions it was about 300 the last 2 days and that is way unhealthy on the scale...:(...A Doctor was on the news explaining about if you do have strong healthy lungs, they do clean themselves out and repair. So I do hope that is my case...

Wendi...sounds like one way long day yesterday! LOL about Ms Toad! So nothing like the Mr Toad ride??...:D...As for the other one, I guess horses can be in foul moods like us sometimes...

Gloria...sounds like Pip's training is going well. I can understand your frustration about the kennel mishap, but we do seem to love our puppies regardless! She will learn...:)...Souns like you are gettng in a lot of info about dog trainng and that will for sure help.

Karen...sending {{{HUGS}}} your way.

I finally watched Sadie playing with Beau last night outside. It is so funny as she runs circles around him. I will have to get some pictures of them in their "pool". I am just glad they are getting along now.

Today will be KenpoX+ and the other half of Abs/Core.

Have a great day...:)

*hobbles into thread*

Tough stuff. Changed course midway through and wound up doing 14. Don't think I could have taken a step more. Felt real strong in the first five. But at about that point, that numbness in my left foot (feels like it's in my last three toes) which is normally a nuisance actually became painful. I walked a bit, and it seemed to calm down. Continued on, fared OK, and then mile 10 is where it seems like things really broke down. I started feeling the tank was getting low, and that spine pain I'd had on a previous long run returned. The last four were painful, and I walked more than I would have liked. But I won't be too hard on myself. This is part of the training. It's gonna hurt sometimes.

Wendi :: Big ups to Ms. Toad on her performance! Hope today isn't too taxing for you.

Carole :: oh, how cute that Sadie's come around. Looking forward to seeing the pics. I lucked out with humidity--it's low this morning...I'm sure you are among the group the doc referred to. That's good the smoke isn't having any effects on you.

Enjoy your day!

Good morning beautiful Cheetahs!!!

Cathy: I have no doubt you kicked some butt on that run this morning! I did have a great time last night. You can't beat best friends and homemade potato salad with dill! :)

Wendi: Congrats on the horse show! :)

Carole: With all your years of running I am sure your lungs are very strong and healthy. :) I was so mad at Pip at first I didn't even want to look at her, but I got over that quickly. She meant no harm. I think I was mad at myself too for letting that happen. No accidents yesterday and a clean kennel this morning. KenpoX sounds like a goodie from what I have read on the forums.

Well, we are on for the marathon. My partner's mom, who is my BF, told her that she better not email me about it if she is not serious. It's funny how she knows me so well. :) I have to admit I was a little suprised by this development. The race is inexpensive and close enough that all our friends and family can come. I am so excited!!!! I am looking forward to knowing her better. Can you tell I am on cloud nine right now?? Today will be a run. Have a great day ladies.

Cathy: We posted at the same time. You are so positive about the training. I admire that. It is taxing for sure. I am proud of you for doing it today. :)

Karen: I just read your post from last night. I am happy to be a shoulder to cry on anytime. (((HUGS))) My mom is very sick and it tears me up to see her. When things bother me like that I tend to avoid it. I think I will call her today.

Hi everyboday. Just a 3 mile quick run for me today. My dh and kids are taking my neice out to get a few things for school and to eat lunch. Still hot as can be here so I'm glad I got the run done and over with not that it was that strenuous. Thanks again for the support last night. It was one of those kind of nights.

Gloria- Call her. You'll feel better.

Morning!!

Hi Ladies!

I skimmed the threads just now, but I'm afraid I don't have time for personals right now. We have a b-day party at noon and then a graduation party. I'm eating before I go to both! ;) I've been busy doing stuff with the kids, so I didn't even have time to lurk. I ran y-day on the treadmill. I went 3.5 miles and then did Kelly's- NYC. I didn't like that one at first, but I did y-day. :) Today, I opted to not run w/TNT because last night I felt "something" in that same area. Phooey! No pain, just "something". I didn't want to push it today w/10 miles.

I'm good for personals, so if it's not too late when we return I'll come back.

Have a great day!

Dallas

Hi Ladies-

Another one who does not have time for personals. I did read the posts, though. DD15 is home! YAY! DH is on his way (should arrive any minute). Plan for today is a long bike ride (30 miles but no hills), then grocery shopping, and getting my nails done. I also have to make Kimo's food. So, it'll be a busy day.

I did want to tell Cathy first of all - congrats on the 14 miles! That's a big accomplishment! And that I am IN the nutrition site -YAY! I like it, but it has some basic oddities - like it does not have whole wheat pasta listed unless it's with sauce. WTH? I did plan my entires meals for the next week. We'll see how that goes. :p

Must run-DH just got back! Have a good one all! I'll try to beback for personals later.

Hiya cheetahs! Posting from the Jersey Shore. I was hoping to have the place to ourselves but naturally , MIL and FIL showed up about an hour after I got here:( Oh well, DH has just about had enough and is ready to escape to PA!!!! Closing is on for next Friday and we are counting the hours. I woke up early and got in All Body Cardio this morning. I was planning on doing HLK later but I may go out for a run now even in the hot afternoon to escape MIL and FIL;) JK-- I'll stick it out!

Wendi- Our busy busy workin cheetah. Congrats to you and Ms Toad for a great show!! I hope you have some recuperating time coming up!

Cathy- OMG I do feel your pain sweetie!!! Sounds like a miserable run but give yourself a HUGE pat on the back.... 14 miles!!!!!! You did it! Getting up there in serious mileage cheetahgirl.

Carole- I gather that Miss Sadie had issues with her baby brother initially?
Glad she has apparently worked it out. I bet it is funny to watch them play! Really looking forward to those pics! Have fun with Kenpo X!!

Gloria- Puppies can be a challenge to the patience certainly!!! They more then make up for it in unconditional overwhelming love though. That is fantastic that you will have so much support around for your first marathon. Plus in spirit all the cheetahs will be with you too.... you can count on it!!

Karen- Belated {{{{Hugs}}}} for you hon and I hope you are getting in a great therapeutic run today!

Dallas- aka party girl!!! Good you followed your feelings and didn't push it today! HAVE FUN:D

Christine- Glad to here DD is home!!! Having a special dinner tonight? Enjoy your bike ride!

That about catches me up for today at least. Have a good one y'all.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! Nothin' like cheetah support to put a big smile on your face.

Shelly :: wow, those outlaws o' yours sure do pounce on ya. The constant drop-bys would be grating on me, too. Kudos to you for pastin' on your smile today and suckin' it up. :) It did get hot again, didn't it?...Thirteen felt sooo good compared to today's run. But hey, I guess it's all a part of building up.

Christine :: YAY on DD15 being home and getting into the nutrition site finally!! I noticed the same about the whole wheat pasta, so I just entered it as a custom food. How are YOU doing with potassium? :)

That reminds me -- Carole :: You asked about the potassium. I keep getting F's on my report card for it!

Gloria :: This sounds like the perfect marathon for you. I'm so happy for you...enjoy today's run! No accidents--good news. Yum, potato salad. I'm startin' to get hungry for the BBQ.

Hi Karen and Dallas...our under stress cheetahs...hope you get to relax and enjoy today!

Oh, I finished that book Rant I was telling you guys about. Oh, it was way out there, all right. Kinda disturbing. And I'm not even sure I totally understand it...Now I'm onto Nickled and Dimed (nonfiction) by Barbara Ehrenreich. Anybody reading anything good?

Cathy...sorry about the rough run. I can agree and say that you will have some of these. As for the numbness, maybe you need shoes bigger in the toe box? I think you did awesome getting in 14 miles feeling like you did. Yes it was so fun watching Sadie play yesterday, she was like a different dog! I hope to get some pics later...:)..So why is it so important to get in a certain amount of Potassium?? No help in the reading dept, as my reading days slowed way down after I got a PC!

Gloria...I think we all probably get a bit mad at puppies when they have accidents. I know though for most of Beau's accidents it is my fault for not watching...thanks, I hope my lungs are the healthy ones too! That is so cool about the marathon!!!

Karen...good job with 3 miles before the heat. Hope you get a nice relaxing day in.

Dallas...probably not a good idea to push it if you felt "something". Enjoy your parties.

Christine...glad the family is back together! Enjoy your long bike ride.

Shelly...LOL about taking a walk to escape your company!!...:D. Lets say Sadie hated us last sunday when Beau arrived. She warmed up to us soon but still did not like Beau. So it was a blast watching them yesterday, as he just wants to play with her.

I have not worked out yet, but will later. Got home from church and played a bit with Beau, now he is zonked out for awhile. Almost time for lunch for me...

Hi Cheetahs

Wendi- My godness your show days are insanely long. congrats to "Ms. Toad" I hoe you are seeing the light at the end of this work tunnel.

Shelly- that is great about closing next Friday. My inlaws woud never just showup. They are old fashioned, but lovely people. Now I would show up at my dad's unannounced and he would love it. But that is different.

Cathy- 14 miles is just fabulous! I am not reading anything good right now. i have a Patricia Cornwell book (THe Front) iI can start at anytime. What is Nickel and Dime about? I like to have a non fiction and a fiction both to choose from.

Carole- That is so cute that Sadie and Beau play now. :D I have to agree about your lungs clearing out if they are disease free to start with.

karen- hugs to you and your Mom:rolleyes:

Christine- welcome back DD and DH! How was today's bike ride. And more importantly, how is Kimono today???? I hope I didn't scare you with my comments yesterday. My dd17 left for a week of camping today. She went with my brothers family. My sister's famiy went too, and they invited my DS15. However, he chose to stay home. Some (hockey related) friends of his are arriving later this week from out of town. He did not want to miss their visit.

Gloria- great news about having a friend to run your first marathon with!

Dallas- IA take it careful with your runs and do not ruinr anything that is newly healed or in the process of healing.

Today was active rest: 18 holes of golf, walking all the way. It tired me out. I'm not sure If i want a nap or a cup of coffee right now.:eek: Yesterday i did Cardio Coach #7 in place of Press Play. But now I have Press Play already for next Month.

Currently I have no rotation, and I think I need one. I will do Art of Strength KB again next week, and 3-4 cardios. I was joking tht I will need a NON STS rotation for when STS hits the mailboxes.

I am feeling lazy after the golf in the hot sun. Either a nap or a big cup of coffe is in order here.

Hi Cheetahs!

Cathy - I didn’t have any pasta to add! But now I do, so I’ll do it as a custom as well. I just thought that was odd. :p Potassium! WOW! I’m getting B’s and C’s now – but I’ve added bananas and wheat germ every day. It’s a toughie to get enough of that! I do like the ability to click on the grade and get suggestions. But it’s rare that I get all I need of potassium – and I’m really good at getting too much cholesterol. *sighs* .

Wendi – oh cool the Ms Toad was so good! I’ll bet you are tanked! Holy cow! Glad this week is over.

Carole – I’m so happy that Sadie and Beau are getting along. Sounds like a fun time at your house with them playing! How’s the smoke where you are? Today was gorgeous here.

Gloria – how exciting on the marathon! Where is it being held? That’s great that everyone can be there to cheer you on!! I think that’s the best! Sorry to hear your mom is sick! That’s tough.

Karen – This group is great at listening to unloading. Sometimes we all need to do it. So sorry to hear about everything your mom is going through. It’s so scary every time the “C” word is mentioned. My mom passed away from cancer – so I know how tough it is to wait and worry. Your mom and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dallas – Good to “see” you. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!

Shelly – Oh, I’m sorry that you could not even be home for an hour when your IL’s showed up. That’s tough. SOON!!! You’ll be in PA. My home State. I’m thinking of ya! No special dinner – DH is taking me out to dinner.

Judy – I posted Kimo’s condition down below – but she’s doing better. She’s a trooper, I tell ya! No you didn’t scare me. I knew Jimmy was with her for a reason. She was touch and go for a while. Now that DH is back, I think she’ll do better. She’s so attached to him.

Kimo has rebounded again. I swear she will outlive all of us. But her tumor is really growing. We’ll see. I ended up doing 24 flat miles. I know I have to run tomorrow, so I wanted to take it easier today. Guess I should have done a rest day, but it was gorgeous and sunny with clear skies…. I had to ride. Oh man, I am so enjoying my bike! Then DD15 and I went to lunch. I did my shopping and I’m home cooking for Kimo and marinating different things. DH is done helping DS move. So, we’re think about going out for dinner – Yankee Pier for some fish. :p Salmon is tough to get around here at the restaurants as there is a local ban on fishing salmon because of population issues, which is good. I like it because it forces me to try other things.
