::Cheetahs::One more day til Chicago Thursday::

CAthy - I would be good to be able to watch it before the marathon! Oh dear! I hope you feel better and nip it in the bud before the race! Stay healthy and strong!!!

Wendy - I had already commited to run Marshall with Patty when everyone decided on Chicago. I asked her if she would consider Chicago, but she couldn't go....so that is the story. I would absolutely have loved to! And the funny thing is ...the training I did would have went along with the timing! Oh well. One of these days I will!

Karen - I don't know what happened :( I just started hurting all over and have a horrible headache. I am sure I will be fine tomorrow! :) I hope anyway! Awww! Those glasses sound too cute! I'll bet they are adorable!

Shelly - Hey there! Have a good evening!!

Linda

Hi Cheetahs!

I can't do personals right now. Sorry. :) I just wanted to wish our running Cheetahs GOOD LUCK!!!!!! You will be in my thoughts this weekend! :) Safe travels to all!!!!

Take care everyone. Will try and catch up this weekend.

Wendy—I can't take credit for the term "slog" — never heard it before. :) Hope it went well for ya...yes, we definitely must touch base after our runs! I have a bit more packing to do, but it will be lights out as early as possible for me. BTW, I think you'll still finish before me.

Sunny—SO great to see you! You are missed around here. Many thanks for the good wishes...much appreciated!

Linda—I think it is true that this kind of training can make you more susceptible to colds, esp. when you have a lot going on otherwise. That is probably what's happened to us. I know I have been fighting it off the past couple of weeks and don't quite feel 100%, but I think I better just block that out. *lol*

Gloria—thanks for the good luck wishes. Hope all is well.

I ran an easy, breezy 2+, with the sliver of a moon over one shoulder and a pink & purple Technicolor sunset over the other. No tunes. Just the road. What could be better? Some more packing to do and then shuteye as soon as I can. My mom and I have to be on the road by 4 am (!), so I don't know if I'll have time to check in.

HUGE thanks to all the cheetahs for the ongoing support these past few months and great running vibes to all of us hittin' the big road this weekend!!

Hi Girls!

I can feel the excitement in the den!!!! :D:D Christine mentioned something I didn't even consider. Saturday night!!!! Woo hoo!! I really, really, really want to be there for the race. However, by the time I would get down there Posh and Cathy would be done running anyway, I'm guessing. Anyway, the last game for Sat is 2P. This could work!! :) If Sat doesn't work then Sunday afternoon can. What's your post race activities? I'll keep in touch with you Chi-town girls! :)

Today, I did cutie pie Joey's shoulder and back, floor cardio, and 25 minutes on the spin bike. Tomorrow will have to be my longer long run, since Sat it not an option again. I may get in a total body weight workout for the early AM workout too.

Gloria ~ Another busy cheetah???

Sunny aka fitnessgurl ~ HI!!! We miss you!! I like your new username. I want a fun username too. ;) I'm not creative - at all!!

Shelly ~ I wished you "GOOD LUCK" for LBI y-day. but don't know if you saw it. :)

Wendy ~ I know I missed about your knee, but why outside verses the treadmill? I thought for an injury the treadmill was a better option? Maybe it depends on what's hurting??? Hope the 3 mile "slog" ;) went well. :)

Cathy ~ Sending some major healing {{VIBES}} your way. The weather is nice here. I don't think you'll need to worry about the disposable clothing. I hear that the high is projected to be 77, but that should be well after you're done. I'm surprised by that yellow alert. Maybe after last year, they don't want to take any chances. Are you using the Amphipod or a hydration belt? After last year of running out of water, I bet they won't make that mistake again. Can you squeeze one more person (me) ;) in for dinner Sat? It's still up in the air as to Sat or Sun? What time are your Sat plans?

Karen ~ YEAH about completing your training!!! That is a nice feeling. :) IA about the humidity...hope the forecast is wrong for you. Our news has had a ton of Chicago marathon stories. Its fun to watch. :) Continue to keep your mom in my prayers. ((HUGS))

Christine ~ Thanks for the Sat. idea....I didn't even think Sat. I just can't wait to meet you Cheetahs! :) I copied that recipe. Thanks!

Wendi ~ (((HUGS))) you are working too hard girl!!!

Carole ~ Nice workouts, of course!! :) Wish I could run w/you on that last ten. I was looking forward to that. At least, I've figured out how to meet you girls - one way or another!!! :)

Jackie ~ Christmas!?!?! Are you really trying to stress me out!?!?! LOL! j/k I actually have started shopping already. How's your training going? So, was your bil totally bummed about Chicago baseball? I was! :( I was really hoping the Cubs would go all the way. This coming from a Sox fan. Guess we knew that the Sox wouldn't do it. I guess the billy goat curse is true. ;)

Posh ~ Glad Smokey is getting better. It will be fun meeting you - you crazy gal!! :D

Linda ~ Aww you're so sweet. :) It's getting closer for you too right?? WTG on the 20+ miler the other day! You're doing great! Hope you enjoyed that rest day.

Judy ~ Are your boys ok? I know you said one was really stressed. :(

Well, my kids just walked in from soccer practice. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Have a good night!

Posh & Cathy ~ I just emailed you something from TNT about race conditions. Maybe something will help???

Linda - St. Jude is held in Memphis. Hope the rest day helped and you're feeling better.

Karen - Lot of excitement around here for all the races. Let's hope the humidity will not happen Saturday. You should be proud of yourself. Will your family go to the race with you?

Cathy - Yes, get plenty of rest and take care of those sniffles. You need to be in tip top shape for your race. I only do yoga for stretching and this workout stretches my hamstring really well. Now, they claim you're burning calories with each move and creating heat when you hold. Don't think it would be effective as a stand alone for weigh loss. Have a safe trip. Good luck again! Can't wait to hear the race and cheetah weekend report.

Wendy - Did you get that run in? I want to try and keep my long runs outside. That will give my feet time to adjust to pounding the pavement. Don't mind doing the shorter runs on the treadmill.

Sunny - Good to see you post here. Hope things are going well with you.

Dallas - Way to juggle those workouts! Yeah, I want to get a jump on Christmas shopping like I use to do in days of old. I always finished my shopping by Veterans Day Holiday. Now, I'm lucky to finish by Christmas. Just don't enjoy it anymore. Training is going well. Hamstrings are behaving so far. BIL is not too happy right now. What happened???
Maybe one day.

Everyone's that's leaving early tomorrow, safe travels. Have lots and lots of fun.

Hi Girls.

Well my 3 miler went okay. I could feel a little SOMETHING towards the end of the run but ofcourse, I wasn't running as slow as I had intended or as slow as I should come Sunday so we'll see. I THINK I'll be okay but hey, if something happens and it really starts bothering me and it's not something I can "walk off" then I walk away with a DNF. If I don't atleast TRY I know I will regret it. In fact, as I type this my knee feels totally fine. :)

So now that I got my run in like I wanted to, tmrw should be a rest day. I know I'll be tempted to work upper body and if I am then perhaps I'll just roll with it. I can always cut out the EXT time on Saturday and just do Centergy instead. I don't really see the harm in that. I don't think it could be considered over-training before a race, do you??

So Joey and I went out tonight to a school function of his. It was called Family Fun Night at one of the preschool locations. It was cute. They had 4 rooms and in each room they did something different having to do with the fall season or Halloween. They all rotated until everyone hit every room. The first room was the leaf room. They took tracing paper and placed it over leaves and colored on the paper so that the leave's shape would appear. Then they were read a story about a tree. The second room was about pumpkins. They got to see and feel the gooey insides of a real pumpkin and then they heard a story about a Jack O' Lantern. In the third room they got to husk an ear of corn and in the last room the teachers made popcorn for them in an old fashioned air-popper. Joey enjoyed it alot. It was cute and was only an hour long.

Cathy: Okay, I know SOMEONE around here uses the term SLOG. I've heard it somewhere and thought it was you. Now I have to find out who I got it from or it's gonna drive me batty! :p ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!!!!!!! You are gonna do AWESOME!!!!

Posh: GO Chicago Marathon Cheetah GO!!!!!! You and Cathy were makin' me crazy arguing over who was slower. LOL I'll bet BOTH OF YOU do better then you think you will!!!!! Have a fantastic time with the Cheetahs!!!

Karen: When is your race...sat or sun? GOOD LUCK! You will do awesome too!

Linda: I actually recall that about asking your friend if she would consider Chicago but I thought you might try to just go for the weekend as a spectator and to meet up with the Cheetahs and hang out. I would have if I didn't have my race already planned.

Jackie: Same here. I tend to try and keep my long runs on the road. For my 2nd half mary I did some half-ass training all on the TM. I think my top run was 8 miles but normally that's not how I do it.

Dallas: It seems whatever is/was ailing my knee was worsened by the treadmill and reacted better to the road. Go figure! LOL Have fun with your fellow Cheetahs this weekend---whenever it is that you get the chance to meet up with them!

Carole: I saw my crazy marathon runner friend at the gym the other day. She asked me if I signed up for Philly yet. I told her I wasn't gonna do it after all. She asked why not and then said I should wait to decide until after Sunday. LOL Don't worry, I didn't tell her I'm not signin' up cause you think she's nuts and it's a bad idea! :p

Hi Gloria!!!:)

K, I think that catches me up. I doubt I'll be back this evening so have a great one folks and talk to everyone in the morning!:D

Quick post and then I must bank a few zzz's.

Dallas :: dinner is 6 pm on Saturday at LaFontanella's. I'm sure if you can make it, they can squeeze one more in...yes, I carry an Amphipod...thanks for the email...very helpful tips!

Jackie :: Wow, you were done by Veterans' Day? Now THAT was on top of things. My deadline is the end of Black Friday weekend. I do a lot of my purchases online now. Makes it easier. Thanks again for the good wishes!

Wendy :: What's this? We were "makin'" you crazy?? You already ARE crazy. ;) Glad your knee felt pretty decent on tonight's run. Fingers are crossed it will be smooth trails for you on Sunday.
