Good evening ladies!
***Beware***...there's a novel coming about nothing important. Feel free to skip this post
.
Well, I must say that I just had one of the most delightful afternoons today
. DSO and I went to this very highly rated Indian restaurant that I've been dying to try, although was a bit askeered to cuz I know nothing about the cuisine. They have a daily lunch buffet so I fgured that was the smartest way to try it out...you know, sample a bite of everything and decide what I like and don't like. Well, it was all FABULOUS!!! OMG, I think I'm in love!!! A couple of the offerings were a touch too hot for DSO (fine for me
) but he absolutely loved some of the others. Will absolutely be going back there again. Oh, and the buffet was only $9/person
...how can you beat that?!?!
Here's where things get kind of cute
...
Since we both stuffed ourselves we figured we should go for a walk to the local park and back. As we stepped out the front door we were greeted, very enthusiastically by a strange cat. She was *extremely* affectionate, obviously not one of the neighborhood strays, rolling around at our feet and purring soooo loudly. I grabbed some food for her and she gobbled it up. We decided to continue on our way but she followed us so I went back and got a little more food and then we skidaddled while she was busy eating.
Just as we got to the edge of the park I heard VERY loud meowing across the street coming from the most beautiful kitty (different cat, now). I said something along the lines of "hi sweetie" and it came trotting right up, chattering away. This one was an un-neutered male, looked to be about 4-5 months old, and clearly scared (he was trembling). He obviously seemed like he belonged to someone. We stopped to pet him for a couple of minutes, protected him from a couple of cars that came whizzing past, and then decided to continue on to the park's trails. Well, don't you know, the sweet thing followed us for more than a mile around the park! Most of the time he trotted right between DSO and I like a dog. Of course, I couldn't help but think of Linda's Angel Dog. A couple of times he got distracted by something but he'd always run and catch up. What am I?...the Pied Piper of Kitties? At this point, we were about 1/4 mile from where we originally found him (we looped around the park) and he stopped at one of the houses, sat at the front door and started to bellow. He stopped following us at that point so I *hope* that was his home and we had just helped him find his way back there. I hope the little guy was okay after that
.
So those are my ramblings for the day
. I will be keeping both sweet kitties in my prayers tonight and hope that they both stay safe and healthy.
