Good Monday morning, cheetah babes! :) :) :)

Today is my yoga or stretch day, so I opted for SM#1.

Amy G :: *lol* You are probably right about that…Actually, on the 11th I will be flying home, so unfortunately, it’s not likely I can join the group, but I’ll be running with ya’s in spirit.

Linda :: no, I’m not training for a specific event…just trying to lose the last of the weight. Have you been doing Fluidity at all? (I haven’t.)

Christine :: GREAT job besting your time! I’m no speedster myself, but hey, it’s all about bettering ourselves.

Hi Amy. :)

Have a GREAT day, ladies! Will BBL in the afternoon to catch up.

Good morning ladies,

cathy- enjoy your stretch day!

christine- you ran an awesome race girl. i am so very proud of you. i am hoping when i do my first HM, i can do it in at least 3 hrs:eek: . as i already know i will be running very slowly.

judy- lasagana:9

today's workout will be a 3 mile run and then later on this evening, S&H chest and back. ohhhhhh, i can feel the DOMS already}(

ttyl....

I like our title today. Thank you Cathy :)

Cathy- Is the DSis's wedding on Veteran's Day Weekend? Stretch max is so relaxing and a nice way to begin a week. :)

Christine- great time fro your half :7 I have no idea how long it would take me. So you signed right up for another long race!? It must help that DH runs too. Are you sore today?

Sunny- have *fun* with S&H . Those are not my favorites, I can do them only for one week and that is it.

Wendy- Did you wake up feeling any better???

This week I will do an upper body split instead of all upper body twice. Today will probably be Chest & Back OR Chest & Tri and 30" on non running cardio. Then Stanlely Steamer will be here (hopefully on time ) to clean some carpets while I do Monday Clean Max.

Good Morning Cathy, Sunny and all Cheetah Babes to follow!:+

Well, I am coughing away this morning. JOY! I am going to take Mucinex again today. I think it is helping to loosen everything cause there is definately more "movement" now. It's annoying as anything but if it's gonna help it go away then I'm all for it!

I knew I was going to be in trouble this morning after y'day's work out because I started feeling the onset of DOMS last night!!!!! So as expected, the toilet seat was NOT my friend this morning. }( I am DEFINATELY saving that little lower body creation for future use!

I think today will be Cardio Sculpt Express, Cardio Core Express and ABA abs. That's what I had decided on but then I thought about just some cardio and abs but I'm not likin' that idea so I'll probably stick with the original.

So folks, will some of us be getting shipping notices this morning!?!? :+ :7 :+ :7 I am soooo excited! If I get them this week I am going to have so much fun playin' around! I just can NOT do the lower body work out until AFTER my HM!

Well, gotta go refill the java cup!

BBL!:+

Hi Judy! We were posting at the same time. I don't feel any BETTER...just DIFFERENT. Everything is moving around now. YUCK! LOL

i woke up with zero motivation today and am still feeling the doms from double barry on saturday! i am with wendy in the toileet seat not being my friend...x(

i am contemplating another rest day. i really need to get my running back on track or i will never be able to do my half on thanksgiving!!!

be back later, cheetahs!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I feel better today than I did yesterday. My Achilles was really sore, and still is, but I can walk without limping. The rest of me is fine. I have CTX Chest and abs, and Yoga for Happiness Magically Hips on my agenda for this morning. Funny story, our friend who ran with us (who is a very sweet, funny lady, but who is also short and a bit round), finished in 2 hrs 50 minutes (YEAH!). She was worn and tired and feeling horrible at the end. Went home, grabbed a shower and stopped by yesterday saying she was thinking of doing the Silicon Valley Half on November 4th! Good for her. Not on my agenda though! :+

Cathy – You’re absolutely right about bettering ourselves. Thanks for the kudos! Kind of a nice way to start the week – with another medal. :p Enjoy your stretch!

Sunny – so glad you’re back with us again! I missed you! Thanks! Slow and steady is the way to go. Have you signed up for a half yet? Enjoy your run and S&H C&B!

Judy – Yes, I signed up for a 10.6 miler. 10 miles is doable for me, 13 is tough. The one we signed up for in April is the one that friends of ours have been walking for 10 years – they walked in the day after they got married, and decided to walk it from then on. So we have a good time hanging out with them. Last year DH ran it, but I had to puppy sit. Oh cool! You’re getting your carpets cleaned today! I love the smell of the house after that! Enjoy your workout!

Wendy – I so hope you feel better soon! Maybe it’s allergies after your run? Too funny about the toilet seat! I’m looking forward to the new workouts, too!

Lorie – Sorry you can’t sit happily! I don’t like having that much DOMs, especially in my backside. A slow short run might actually help, and feel good once you’re warmed up. You know how badly you hurt though, so listen to your body.

AmyG – my hiking buddy! Glad to see you back with the Cheetahs! Running on the 11th for me might be tough. I have a Diwali Party on Saturday and will be urged to consume vast quantities of incredible Indian food. (If you have ever eaten with Indians, you know all about the “urging”). But I’ll try!

Carole – Glad to hear you floor is finished and that JC loves it! I’m coming up to your house to play with your kitten! She sounds so cute!

Shelly – I’m amazed by you! I struggled with 13 miles, and you’re holding your runs to an easy 12 miles to avoid burning yourself out! I want to be like you when I grow up! Thanks for the positive vibes yesterday!

Jackie – enjoy your rest day!!

Wendi – hope the decorating project went well! Do you have off today?

Linda – SO HAPPY to see you back!!! *Does Happy Dance around the room* With all this talk about lasagna, maybe I’ll make some for dinner tonight! Sounds wonderful!

Waves to Amy!

Have a great day everyone!

A quick add-on here. I posted an article in the Open Discussion's Forum on the increase in older runners. It's under "Think you're too old to run." I thought it was interesting. It's long, though.

Good morning Cheetahs! Sorry I haven't been checking in lately. This will be a busy week for me. DH is out of town until probably Friday night. However, the kids and dogs are being good. Thank God for small favors. :) Anyway, last night I surprised myself by running 5 slow miles on the treadmill while watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I love that show. It always brings tears to my eyes to see people doing good things for those less fortunate. I'm trying to get back into the swing of working out again. Life has definitely sidetracked my workouts lately. I think today I will take Chelsea for a mile or 1 1/2 mile run. She needs to use up some of her excessive energy. I'm also hoping to get in a short weight training workout, probably on my own since time will be an issue.

Wendy - I hope you are feeling better before your HM.

Christine - I'm so proud of you!!!!!! GREAT JOB on your HM. How's Jimmy doing?

Linda - I'm so glad to see you posting again. For the past couple weeks I have been thinking about you. I'm actually thinking about running the Hatfield McCoy Hm next year. I must be crazy!! LOL

Sorry, this is so short on personals. I'll try to BBL when I've had a chance to read up on what everyone has been up to.

TTFN! WAVES to all Cheetahs!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..good job on SS and the 5 miles yesterday. Stretching sounds like a good idea for today..

Wendy..I think my DH has used Mucinex before, he said it worked well. Sounds like a fun cardio day for you. Yes, I will be checking my email for the shipping notice!!

Christine...sounds like you enjoyed the half yesterday and you shaved off 5 min!!! Funny about that guys shirt. I am always amazed at the mixture of people that run halfs or even full marathon for that matter. Way to go signing up for Big Sur! Sorry about the achilles pain, hope that subsides quickly. I am happy about our floor too as we had been getting on each others nerves...

Sunny...thanks the run was nice...I really am liking the laminate. Got some of the molding done yesterday. Soon I can put things back where they belong! Enjoy your 3 mile run and S&H.

Judy...the trail run was fun. The Chi technique has helped me run stronger and I am finding running very enjoyable again...Watching football is always fun for me. Although most of the teams I was pulling for didn't win, I still enjoyed the games. Have fun with chest and back today.

Kristi...way to go with 5 miles on the TM! Sounds like Chelsea is running well...

Jackie...the trail run was tough on the way out. At mile 4 you hit some tough hills. Once you get to mile 8 the course gets easier. But since doing the Chi technique, I don't seem to feel quite as beat up running courses like that. Hope your rest day was nice...

Amy..I am sure I can run on the 11th as I normally do my long runs on Sunday. Running with a group of cheetahs would be fun.

Lorie...my sisters and I are also working on our Las Vegas reservations...this is going to be so fun! So Nadia gave you some nasty DOMS...rest might be good. I am sure you will be in good running shape for the half on Thanksgiving.

Wendi...yes, the molding does add the final finishing touch. A trail run in the Gunks???

Linda...Yes the Las Vegas marathon and half marathon on Dec 2nd. My sister and I will be running the half along with maybe Lorie...and Shelly will be doing the full marathon..:)

Back to BBC upper this week. Today will be a 4 mile run and BBC S&B.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Hope you have a good Monday! I was up early doing my Leslie Sansone's 4 fast miles DVD (love it!) and I am going to the gym when I get out of work tonight!

I am on my workout kick again and feel amazing!!!! :)

Wendy I hope you feel better soon! Being sick stinks. That was me a few weeks ago!

Take care all!
Amy :)

:::::CHEETAH:::::

i have GOT TO get in the shower because now i am running super late but i wanted to say THANK YOU, CHRISTINE!!! all i needed to do was read your note about just trying a little run and i was motivated. i ended up running 7 miles! i am still not up to the speed i was before i was sick as it took me 66 minutes (i did iTread #5) and my chest felt a wee bit tight, but i did it!!! i knew i wouldn't feel good if i took another rest day but i was just so unmotivated. i did not struggle like i did my first run back, so that makes me happy.

i am feeling like less of a cheetah imposter now that i ran. ;)

off to the shower. ta for now. be back later for personals!

Good morning ladies,
I have a food hangover this morning. I was doing so well until the fresh baked apple pie that friend brought over the night. I is so yummy!!!! I just had to have a piece last night at 10:00, OOPS!!!! Oh well, today is another day and I will get back on track:)

I am going to run 4 miles and then do GS ba, sh, and biceps. Yesterday I did HSTA and the lying leg work of Gymstyle legs. It was a good workokut.

Cathy, nice to have just some stretching on tap. That Applebees meal sounded delicious. I will still never get over the cheesecake I had with you and Shelly}(

Wendy, I am going to be checking my e-mail all day for the delivery notice. I did order late, but I did 2nd day air. I can't wait!!! Do you think you could have pneumonia? Are you coughin a lot. I had a nasty cough for 2 weeks a couple of years ago and finally went to the doctor and it was walking pneumonia. Just worry about ya:)

Sunny, enjoy your run and slow and heavy. That is on my schedule for next week. It always scares me;-)

Judy, send Stanley over here next. It has been about a year for us. Have a good workout!

Lorie, 7 miles is a GREAT way to start the day! Good for you!

Christine, GREAT JOB ON THE HALF!!!!! I am so impressed that you are not even that sore. Your body will definitley enjoy getting ice cream licked off your body;-)

Kristi, good job on the 5 miles!!! I always cry too when I watch extreme makeover.

Carole, have fun with Barry today! Take a pic of your new floors. I would love to see them:)

Amy, great workout!

I am off to take kids to school. Have a great day ladies!

Susan

Good morning lovely cheetahs! My goodness, alot of activity yesterday for a Sunday!! I go into work tonight but it will only be 2 12 hr shifts this week:7 Actually got to take a vacation day:eek:
Today will be a fun cardio day. I'll be doing the SB/SJP 90 min cardio premix. I know, what kind of sicko would think that is fun?
;-) I'll be following that with a coremax segment.

Chrstine- Congratulations on a new PR for the half!!! I knew you'd have a great time at the RnR :7 The Big Sur run sounds so beautiful!! Since I am at the ripe age of 50 I guess I'm one of the "older runners";-) . I'll go check out that thread on the OD... sounds interesting!

Linda!!!!:7 :7 :7 :7 Wow! I honestly was thinking of you yesterday when I was posting and earlier on my run wondering what was happening with our Linda from WVA!! How nice to have you check in again... we really missed ya! Great job on that 14 miler! I recently took a wrong turn myself on a race I did Oct 6. Boy was I mad at myself! I know you'll be fine for your HM in Nov. Keep us posted! That's too bad your workplace blocked the Cathe website x(
Mine blocks the shopping sites but thankfully doesn't consider the Cathe website a "shopping" site!

Jackie- I didn't know you were building a new home!!! How exciting!
I'm knitting a sweater for my FIL... so far goingwell (crossing fingers) Hope you have a great workout today, or rest... whatever.

Lorie- Where are you going to be staying in Vegas? GReat job in getting out those 7 miles despite the lingering DOMS!!!!

AmyG- I definitely have a run scheduled for Nov11 so I think I'll be joining you! I'm glad I actually remembered you correctly.:)

Kristi- Great job in getting in the 5 miles. Good start to getting back on track. I hope your schedule lightens up for you a bit... you've been so busy!

Carole- How di dhte trail run go yesterday? I thought of you while I was running. I'm so happy to hear that Vegas is still a go for you and your sisters.... and now your niece too? This should be FUN!!!

Susan- ooooo a run and GS also!! My kind of workout}( Homebaked
apple pie?:9 :9 :9

Judy- I just love running long distances with my fuel belt. Mine is made by Saucony but there are many brands and variations on style, size of bottles, etc. I find it the most comfortable and convenient to run with. You can find them at roadrunnersports or anyplace that sells running gear. Are you aiming for a half marathon?

Cathy- Stretching is a great workout to start the week with!!!
Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

SunnyD- Great workout for you today with your run S&H combo!! Did you order the new workouts?

Wendy- Hey at least that crud is moving now!!! I take that a a good sign :) I bet you'll have this kicked in a couple of days. Are you still planning on the HM or is that up in the air??

I think that about catches me up. Time to head on down to the basement and get steppin!

Hi everyone!

I'm doing one of those drive by posts today. Working with the boss. He's so easy to work for. He left for a few minutes. So, I thought I would pop in.

My workout today was iTread #15 60 minutes. I ran until I got in 5 miles. Then I did a quick stretch. Had to get dressed for work. The back window on the driver's side of my car won't go up. Had to take it to the dealer this morning. Hoping they can get it repaired today before the rain comes.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day! Talk to you later.

Jackie

shelly-we are planning on staying at mandalay bay. neither df or i have stayed there. we are going to book through the costco website because they seem to have good deals on airfare and hotel. i think the mandalay bay (4 nights) with airfare from atlanta is around $570 per person.

where are you staying?

susan- you will do just fine with s&h!

christine- i haven't yet signed up for it but the plan is to do my first HM on 12/1.

shelly- yes i did. i caved. i don't even know why i thought i would be able to hold out, lol:p

Lorie-DH and I are staying at the Luxor, right next door! Mandalay Bay is the marathon headquarters. It is supposed to be really something! You're going to be surrounded by runners! I don't know yet where Carole and her clan are staying.

SunnyD- I've been checking the UPS site several times today I must admit! You'll be doing your HM the day before my Dec 2nd marathon in LV!!! I'll have my notebook computer with me so I'll be able to stay in touch and find out how you did!

Cathy- I just replied to your question about TGI Fridays over in the OD forum.

ShellyC

that is great that we are gong to be so close. we will have to make plans as things get closer. being in a hotel with a bunch of runners is REALLY going to make me want to do the half! i am going to play it by ear and see.

i can't wait to meet you guys!!! :D

Well Thanks to Sunny I opted for S&H Chest & Back this morning. The planks in that one are great. And I checked my form on the new mirror.

Shelly- I am not much of a race participant. Although I am hoping my kids will do a local turkey trot with me this year (4.4 miles)

Linda- Welcome back! What is new? Aren't you building a new home? Wow you ran 14 miles by mistake? Well congratulations on the distance!!!

Lorie- At least you and Wendy can be miserable together with your booty DOMS! You did a nicely on your 7 miles too!
