RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Susan – Yeah, I love this time of year. I love to cook, and I love having everyone over. And I love that I get to get this over with and enjoy my actual Thanksgiving day by letting someone else do the cooking. I’ll make some stuffing, and that’s it. :+ I love GS Legs – it’s a goodie! Have fun at the gym!

Wendy - :D I’ll give you his number. He’s the one who planned an afternoon of Bocce ball on Wednesday, so we get to go have fun. I’m a big fan of Imax 2, as well! I say go for it!

Carole – I really enjoy ABX upper. I did the chin ups with a chair and 4 risers on each side and it worked pretty good, so I’m set there. I like the different weights she does. The core work is killer and real core – not just abs. I liked it. Thanks for the recommendation!

Shelly – I’m going to do a Spinervals/weights/yoga rotation with some KB and Low Impact thrown in for good measure. Thanks!

Gayle – GREAT JOB on the 7k! Wonderful! WAY TO GO!!!

Jackie – YEAH!! Oh, that whirlpool bath must have felt fabulous!! Glad it was a great race and CONGRATS on the trophy! You deserve it!!!

I did APX Upper – fun, fun workout. Very different moves than Cathe. I enjoyed it. I followed it up with a 30 minute tempo ride from Spinervals Tough Love (30 minutes where you change gears every minute and sometimes stand, sometimes sit). I’m that happy stinky sweaty that means I worked out well (and desperately need a shower!). I’m icing my Achilles, now, and will shower when I’m done. My rotation for the next few weeks will be like this:

Yoga
APX#2 Upper Body NRG - no core Spinervals
APX #8 3-Day Split (Legs & Core) Spinervals
Yoga
4DS Upper Body Spinervals
4DS KB and Legs Spinervals
Spinervals

The Spinervals to the right, are my “over lunch” workouts and will probably be 30 minutes and any of the Spinervals can be subbed with any low impact workout.

Have a great one all! I’m off to wash that wonderfully stinky sweat off!

Hi Girls.

I just finished my work out. This indecisive Cheetah struck again! I decided I wasn't in the mood for cardio and opted to make it a leg day instead...and what a leg day it was!}(

PLB warm up, calf work & stability ball work
GSL floor work
BBC f/b wall squat and flunges & squats segments
GSL stretch

This took just over an hour and man did I feel it! I'm happy!}(

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Shelly...looks like we posted at the same time....:)...nice to hear your 14 miler went easy and well. I think Hammer gel makes one that has Caffeine too!

Gayle...Way to go for the 2nd place!!!! We miss you posting here...

Jackie...Congrats on the trophy....you might have to share a pic! I didn't know you were trying out Chi running. It really has helped my speed. Sounds like you had a great half...I bet the whirlpool felt awesome!!

Christine...glad you liked APX...I agree that the different weights make this a fun one. Wow and then Spinervals 30 mins!! Your rotation looks great.

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Good evening lovely Cheetahs!

I was able to catch up reading the goings on this very early am but didn't have time to post before heading to work and horse show.

My good news first...fantastic show for us! The kid that went was champion in both of her divisions and the mare I rode was reserve champion! I should have been champion but the judge "must have missed" (her words) two MAJOR errors that the horse that won champion did. Oh well, such is showing *rolls eyes*.

Other good news...was able to get a fantastic workout in last night, thank goodness because I didn't get Imax2 in yesterday morning. 45 minutes of raking leaves, Step and Hi/Lo Circuit (SB and SJP) and added on the SB Challenge, then followed that up with SS UB Blast. Do not ask where me where the energy came from after a long day at work ?!?!

My bad news...this morning, before heading off to the show, while rehanging a haynet in the trailer, I lost hold of a double end snap and it ended up swinging around and breaking my front tooth in half x( ;( !!! I am so pissed right now!!! I hope someone can fix it tomorrow and I'm such a coward about the dentist. Not to mention that whenever the cold air hits it...YEOWCH!!!!!!!! So, I'm sitting here, nibbling at my dinner, bit by bit, cursing out that bloody snap that will now cost me mucho dinero (which I don't have, yet) to fix!!

So, on that happy note, let me close for now and go catch up on personals :p.

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Jackie - Way to rock your last HM!!!! I'm glad there's a trophy and a party after all that. Enjoy!

Sunny - I really should incorporate some stretching. Heck, you'd think after 18 years of dance training I'd be better about it?! Maybe I'm rebelling :p ;-).

Lori - Try not to sweat "the number"...it probably is just water retention from all that yummy food :9.

Cathy - So, what workout did you decide to do? So glad to here that you like your Bosu...that one definitely has piqued my interest.

Lorie - WTG on those hills!!! Had to LOL at the "these hills have names".

Wendy - Oh {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}, love! It's great to hear that you have a wonderful and supportive friend (other than us Cheetahs, of course!) to turn to. I'm glad to hear that you had such a great time last night.

Carole - Great run with your friend even if it was kind of dismal out. I hope you're all curled up enjoying your football! How sad that they weren't able to catch the gentleman's cancer in time. My SO was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago, underwent surgery, and, thank God, is now cancer free.

Christine - Oh, I'm so jealous of your short week right now :p x(. I'm hoping it rains (it might) on Thanksgiving so I don't have to go into work at all that day. Enjoy the mini vacay! Great workout today! Sorry about your Achilles acting up again... try to take it easy. Have fun cooking!!!

Shelly - I hope work isn't too tough tonight after that run. How does the ankle feel after those hills? I forgot to mention the other day that that mule didn't look so tough }(. I'm sure she was shaking in her shoes when she met you!

Susan - I'm starting to get the itch to check out those GS }(. I gotta pay to get the tooth fixed first, though.

Gayle - Glad to hear from you! WTG on your 7K!

I think that catches me up for now. Toodaloo!!!

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Hi cheetahs! :7 :7 :7 Another Sunday drawing to a close…how does it zip by?

Lorie :: Ack! AF visited me, too, and since I screwed up the BC pills in a major way this month, she came with a vengeance. Had the lower back pain here, too. Grrr! Love the Scarlett O’Hilla name. Looks tough!…You are good buying your secret cheetah gift already…I need to do that.

Wendy :: I wound up not running b/c it was cold and rainy here all day, and I couldn’t drag myself onto the TM…I think, yes, we should sign our names.

Carole :: I’m sorry about your friend who passed…I do put a lot of things together myself, but for this one, I slyly volunteered dear ol’ Dad and he didn’t protest, so now he’s stuck. *lol*…What? No sun in California?? The tanning booth felt good today. How often do you go in the wintertime? I wonder how bad it would be to go 1x per week for 6 minutes. You mentioned that you cover your face. With a towel?…Hope you enjoyed your long run today.

Shelly :: snag any good buys yesterday?…glad to hear the ankle seems to be less troublesome...Fingers are crossed you'll be feeling tip-top for LV!!…You know, I guess abs & pushups on the BOSU are much like using the stability ball…however, when it comes to the pushups, I can’t really do them too well on the ball, so this gives me a good challenge. Of course, being able to put the BOSU flat side down adds a new dynamic to the other exercises. So far, I am pleased and do see it as something I'll use regularly. Ooh, you have a heavy bag? Awesome!

Christine :: good point about it being a short week! We have a 3 day week, but it’s parent/teacher conference week. So, we have the kids for half days tomorrow and Tuesday, and then Wednesday is just a full day of conferencing…sorry to hear about the achilles…Mmm, pie! http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/cartoon/homersimpson.gif *drool pools on my lower lip ala Homer* So, you’re doing a pretty spin-heavy rotation…I was going to start the X on 12.1, but I am having some second thoughts. I wonder if that is really the best choice for me since my first priority is still to burn fat…Your boss planned an afternoon of bocce ball? How cool!

Susan :: glad you are enjoying GS Legs…it’s been ages since I’ve done the GS series…missin’ that…I only worked out 2x this week – was just tired and not feelin’ right.

Jackie :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_multistars.gif GREAT race!!! Congrats on concluding the series. The January recognition party sounds like a nice way to wrap it all up and celebrate.

Gayle :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_wtg.gif on your race in this miserable weather. Good to “see” ya.

Wendi :: OMG, so sorry about your tooth! That’s terrible. Sorry you’re in pain. And ya can’t medicate with ice cream – that stinks! I hope it can be fixed tomorrow. Congrats on today’s stellar performance, though…yes, it’s funny, the BOSU never appealed to me…but Wendy (unknowingly) planted the seed when she scored a bargain on hers.

It was rainy and cold all day, so no outdoor run for me. I opted for HSC in full, incorporating the BOSU wherever possible. Can you say IOMS? As in, instantaneous. I used the purple bands, too, so I really busted tail, which is good after slacking almost all week! :p :7

Well, I’d better get showered up and figure out the wardrobe situation for tomorrow.

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Hey everyone! I have been out of town for the past few days. We had a 60th wedding anniversary party for DH's parent's. There was around 40 people. We had a dinner and several get-togethers. It was nice.

Jackie - Congratulations on your race!!! That is great! I have never tried the Cliff Bloks. I have always wanted to, but have always used AccelGel. I will try them soon, though! Great job!

Carole - I am so sorry about your friend! That is so sad! Good job on the 10 miles!

Shelly - Great 14 miler! Hmmm, I may have to try Hammer gel, too! Now I need to try the Cliff Bloks "and" Hammer Gel! Great workout!

Wendi - Ouch! I am so sorry about your tooth! That sounds horrible!

Sunny - Enjoy your rest day and stretch!

Lori - I love hot spicy food! Yummy! Hope you get to get your workout or run in! Have fun and don't stress about the weight! It is probably just fluid :)

Wendy - That looks like a tough leg workout you created!

Christine - I love this time of year, too! I wish I had a job that i didn't have to work near as many hours, so that I could enjoy it more, though! Good job on your workout! I love APX! It is so funny, I always have the most unusual DOMS with that one! It is so much different than with other workouts! I like it a lot!

Gayle - Hey there! I have been wondering how you were doing! Missed ya! Good job on your race!!

Cathy - LOL...I like the IOMS! Sounds like you had a wonderful workout and did some serious work!

This afternoon, after we got home, I tried Amy's ASCII again. This is my 3rd time with it. I went down to 1 riser on each side so that I could concentrate on the choreography more this time. I am doing much better with it! But, it is still tricky in spots! I also did Amy's SloMo Chest, Bi's and Tri's. I also did the core work on that one.

Well, I am very tired, so I am going to go get ready to go to bed. :+ Hi to anyone I may have missed!

Linda

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Taking a quick break from cooking. Turkey is done, so I'm getting the rest finished up, but DS23 isn't here yet, and I don't want to rush him, so I'm taking a short break. I have to say that brining the turkey was a wonderful thing to do. I used an apple juice/cider/water brine and it's delicious! (yeah I snuck a piece :+) I just have the rolls and the green beans to do, and I'm done. Here's my menu incase anyone is curious

Turkey
Sausage Stuffing
Browned Rice
Gravy
Baked corn
Green Beans
Candied Sweet Potatoes
Crescent rolls (family favorite)
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Ice cream for the pies

All of this for 6 people. Amazing...

What funny is that, as Linda says, APX Upper gives DOMS in weird places. I was chopping onions and celery for the stuffing and was thinking, "Oh, ow!" Probably not the smartest thing I've ever done! :p

Edited to add that I wrote NRG Fitness saying that the admin never got back to me with an approved log in for their forums, and asking if it would take a while longer. I wrote today, Sunday, and Amy herself wrote back to me saying that I was now an offical member. Pretty amazing.
