Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sunday

I had a few minutes before I leave for my wonderful race this morning. So far, I'm feeling pretty good. Last half and I'm done.

Cathy - When I got my AudioStrider, we loaded it into DBF SUV. We had to let the back seat down but it worked. Then, DBF assembled it for me. Think you will like it.

Wendy - So sorry you're going through a difficult time right now. Hugs and prayers for you. Retail therapy works for me.

Lori - No massage for after the race. Don't know if I could stand it. I'll take a hot bath though and that seems to help.

Carole - I put my treadmill together by myself but didn't feel like tackling the elliptical by myself. Seems like it had more parts.

Christine - Hope you had a good trail run. Enjoy dinner and shopping.

Shelly - Think you made the right decision to listen to your body and forgo the race. Need you in tip top shape for that marathon.

Susan - Hope you enjoyed your day yesterday. Congratulations to your girls for doing so well.

BBL. Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Good morning,

jackie- go get em' girl!! you races this year have been awesome:) can't wait to hear the report.

today is a rest day, however i am going to get in a nice long stretch with my athletes intense stretch from the classical stretch collections. this will be my first time doing this one.

BBL...:)

Good Morning:)

Im pretty lazy today! Didn't get home last night until 1ish and up again at 7 to get ready for work! Im sure it will be a quiet day so relaxing won't be an issue.

The indian food was yummy last night.Spicy but good:9 My stomach is feeling it today though:eek: Im not use to eating things like that and its really having a go at my stomach. Not only that...according to the scale I am up 3 lbs! LOL I know thats impossible with one night of eating but still not a nice number! hehe I have to try to get back down to 120 again...according to today that means I have 4 lbs to go. My scale is on its way out though so I asked DH to buy me a new battery...he doesn't know that the battery cost $20:eek:
I would really really like to get a workout in tonight but Im not sure what will happen. Im pretty sure my MIL will be cooking so its gonna be hard to get out of! What I would really like to do is go for a nice long run after DS goes to bed but if I eat supper at 6:30, then thats going to be pretty impossible! Ill figure something out. There could also be the possiblity that I might be to tired to workout as well.

Jackie** Have a good race! Were routing for ya!!!

Sunny** Enjoy your stretch!

Lori:)

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Good morning, cheetahs!

Jackie :: good luck today! Knock 'em dead! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/exercise/th_Bonhomme_rapide.gif

Sunny :: enjoy your rest day...I will be curious to hear what you think of Classical Stretch.

Lori :: glad you enjoyed yourself last night...enjoy a run/workout if you can get to it today. I'm sure you'll drop those 4 lbs. easily.

Since this was mostly a rest week for me, I am going to play today's workout by ear and won't post about it until I've made up my mind and actually *done* it.

Will BBL to catch up with everyone.

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

go, jackie, go jackie...you will do awesome and you have all the cheetahs rooting for you! we will be with you at the finish line in spirit! :)

lori-sorry about the lasting effects of the indian food. i love spicy food!!!

sunny-enjoy your sunday rest day. i love days like that.

cathy-i play my workout by ear more times than not. i have never followed a rotation. i don't know what i am going to feel like that day. for instance, yesterday, i was suppose to do a 4 miler (to taper for my half) and AF came along with the WORST backache! the kind that kept me in bed with a heating pad half the day. so, obviously, no run. i am planning to do it today, then three tomorrow.

so, my workout today is a hill run for 4 miles. i have absolutely zero motivation right now. i had the most delicious sleep and didn't want to wake up! now, i don't want to get out of my warm bed! at least it's only 50 degrees out. if i could just find that butt glue remover... ;)

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Morning Girlies!:)

I'm tired. I had a late night last night. It was fun and "just what the doctor ordered" but I didn't get home and into bed until after 2am!

Jackie: Thanks for the kind words. :) Another half? Wow! Good luck! Can't wait to hear about it!:+

Sunny: Enjoy your stretchy rest day. You deserve it!

Lori: My BFF is from Pakistan so I have grown to love Indian food over the years. Her family makes it slightly differently since they are from a different country but the basics are the same. They also go out to eat at Indian restaraunts once in a while. I've done both with her. YUMMY!:9 We joke though that we eat like pigs when we go out for Indian food and usually BOTH end up with belly aches. LOL

Cathy: Glad you like the BOSU. I wish mine had come with a vid!x( I have an actual bosu strength work out on it's way to me though so I'll be rockin' it soon!}( I hope you are out there runnin' your tush off this morning. That's what I want to do but with no daycare at the gym and no DH home to watch Joey, it can't happen today. Oh well.

Lorie: Enjoy your hilly 4 miler! You may not have any motivation right now but I know you'll get up and go for it at some point today! I would love to crawl back into bed myself.

Hey, I did personals finally! :7 I know it doesn't catch me up on the days and days worth that I've missed and I'm sorry about that but at this point it's just too much to bother. I HAVE been reading everything though. :) Hopefully I'll stay caught up now. :+

Cardio is up for my work out today. I'd love to run but as I posted to Cathy it can't happen today. No gym daycare and no DH so no run. Oh well. It's not like I don't have the motherload of cardio work outs to choose from here!}(

K, my java is ready...I'll BBL!

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

i am laced up and ready to go (or, as cathe would say, double knot your laces and get ready!). i decided i'd rather go and get it out of the way than think about it. i think after doing two 10 milers in one week plus some other runs, i needed that rest day yesterday (so did my cramps and back!).

oh!!! i am SO excited because i already bought my cheetah secret santa gift exchange present!!! i am such a procrastinator and am so glad to have it done. it won't ship for a while, so i'm good. :)

off to orun some hills. be back after.

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Good morning cheetahs

GOOD LUCK JACKIE!!!!

Cathy...If I put my EXT together I am sure your Dad will have no problem. No, you don't need a professional, just patience...:)...Guess I might have to start hitting the tanning booth...not much sun lately...Glad you like the Bosu! I bet the hi/lo dome workout is a lot of fun.

Sunny...enjoy your classical stretch today.

Lori...hope your tummy feels better later. I have not eaten much spicy Indian food but I have begun to enjoy spicy Mexican...jalapeños and chipotles...YUM!! Hope you can get in a long run, but if not rest is always good for you...

Lorie...sorry about your back. Is it better today? That butt glue is tough stuff!! Hope you feel good enough to get in a run, as that always makes me feel better...

Wendy...funny about the snoring, but usually when I poke, he does turn over and the snoring stops...:)...Sounds like a great upper body workout yesterday. Glad you had fun last night, you needed that. I bet you can find a fun Cathe cardio for today...:)

Christine...Sorry about DD18's Mom..:(...I bet your T-Day today will be a tasty one! That would be fun if Jimmy enjoyed SAR. Glad you enjoyed KBX. Your mind can get a bit muddled before the 5th combo! Not sure many like the side jump kicks, I usually do front ones instead.

Shelly...I am proud of you to listen to your body! You certainly do not need to push at this point before the marathon. You are already trained..:)..Hope you enjoyed your easy paced run and core work.

Susan...thank re my floors! I love them...we are taking a little break, not sure what is next, painting our bedroom or laminating the hallway...:)...wow, redoing the trim can be time consuming but I bet you will love it..You have me LMAO with your "rather large hiney" statement yesterday...I know better!!..:)

Judy...that is odd about the Garmin. Definitely contact the company as I think it can be reset. Also you can check out this site www.motionbased.com , they have a forum for Garmin users and someone else might have the same problem.

I ended up doing a circuit of Amy's hi/lo Xtreme and APX legs yesterday. It was fun...We went to a funeral yesterday afternoon. Such a very king gentle man, we know from chruch. He had prostate cancer that went into bone cancer a few years later. I will sure miss his smile and gentle personality. It seems he had a very good life.

Today will be a 10-12 mile run with my friend. Then Football!!

Have a great day...:)

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Lorie: Enjoy your run. I'm sure you'll get into it once you get started. I have to get my Cheetah gift. It's not a gift I usually buy so I don't want to wait and then forget about it!

QUESTION: Are we supposed to sign our names to the gift so that the person who gets them knows who got them in the exchange or is it supposed to be kept a secret still?

Carole: Poking DH works but poking the guy I used to date didn't work! He is even worse now. He's finally going to the dr for it though to see if there is something they can do for him. He said it's affecting his sleep. He wakes himself up quite often these days. He is going to do a sleep study and then go from there. I hope they can help him. I am considering an IMAX for today since Lorie metioned the double knot your laces quote from IMAX 2!}( Cancer is so awful. Was this man sick for very long? He's resting in peace now so that's good.

Off to grab some grub! BBL

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Good morning all! Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend so far.
Well, I changed my plans for yesterday. Normally for my marathon training I would have done a 14 miler but was going to do the 11 mile race instead. Since I opted out of the race I was intending to do that distance yesterday but instead went out shopping with DH in the morning and did indoor cardio in the afternoon. I did Amy's
ASCII... getting pretty good at that now, and KCM's CardioSculpt.
TODAY will be my long run... ""only" 14 miles;-) My ankle's not troubling me much so I should be okay.

Jackie- You go girl!!! Have fun and hold your head up high:7 :7 :7
You ran an amazing series of races:eek:

Sunny- Have a great well deserved rest day. Thanks for the info on the hilo dome workout. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this one soon.

Lori- That extra 3 lbs could very well be simply water retension, especially after consuming a large spicy meal the night before.

Cathy- Oh dear, you may have convinced me to get yet another piece of fitness equipment    I'll be curious to hear what you think of the hi lo dome workout. Have fun with your mystery workout today.

Lorie- So I guess you found the missing butt glue?;-) Go tackle them hills! I have a major set of them before me also!

Wendy- I'm so glad to hear that you had a fun and therapeutic night out! What was the cardio of choice today?

Carole- I haven't done Amy's hi lo in a while... she does have alot of good premixes with APX on that one. Hope your long run is going well and enjoy the football!!!

Susan- Okay, so I'm a poser? Isn't that another name for a HAM???
;-) ;-) :+ :+ :+ How do the legs feel today after GS?

Christine- I KNEW you would love KBext!!! I particularly enjoy the heavy bag portion. I does not seem like she actually makes contact with it in the workout..... but I do in mine!!! FUN FUN

Judy- Did you get the Garmin working again? I assume you tried plugging it into the computer for a recharge. Bummer.... very frustratingx( x( x(

Okay, time to pry this old bod out of the chair and outside.

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

woo-hoo! just got back from my run and it was great! i freaked out in the beginning because i forgot to use my inhaler (xopenex) this morning (i have bronchospasm-not asthma) but i got out and felt perfect. the other glitch was i forgot to turn on my stopwatch. the good thing was i looked at it justas my first song was over and was able to start it then so i just looked up how long the song was and added it to my time. i ran 4.4 miles in 41:43. there were some pretty significant hills. i ran up them but i also ran down and i think that contributed to my going a bit faster.

here's a link to my course (look at all the hills!!!):

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Good Morning Everyone!

I love the Sunday before a short week! Especially when I only have to work 2.5 days. :p I have a pie in the oven, the turkey in brining, and the meal is planned. Should not be too tough, actually. This morning will be APX Upper Body and a Spinervals (if I have the oomph – the UB is 80 minutes!). The Achilles is bothering me again, so I’m going non-impact for this week. I really need to heal this thing. So non-impact and low shoes this week. :+

GO JACKIE GO!!! Enjoy your race – your LAST race of the season! I’ve been so impressed with your race series! Hope this one is the best yet!

Sunny – who puts out the classical stretch collection? I’ve heard very good things about those! Enjoy your stretch!

Lori – Yep, sounds like me whenever I eat Indian food – and I eat it every other week or so. The spices bloat me to no end (and they use a lot of salt in cooking) and my stomach is not happy with me. It’ll come off in the next day or two – no worries. I love Indian food, though! Enjoy your day!

Cathy – enjoy whatever workout you decide on!

Lorie – Have fun with your run, once you get your body moving. I love lazy Sunday mornings. I always need a good deal of butt glue remover, too.

Wendy – Glad you had a great time last night! No worries about the personals, girl! You’re going through some tough times. We all understand! Enjoy your workout!

Carole – I was going to sub front kicks for the side kicks, but I wanted to do it ‘right’. Next time I will though. It is a fun workout. I watched the 5th combo and it looked like fun, but I was simply fried. Decided to just watch. LOL. So is Hi/Lo Extreme something I should get? Rest in Peace to your friend from Church. Glad to hear that he had a good life.

Time to get moving!

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Okay, Shelly - we have to stop posting at the same time! :p I don't have a heavy bag, but I would love one! And yes, I really enjoyed it - thanks for enabling me! Enjoy your run today!

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Hello ladies,
I am off to the gym today. I am trying to mix up my routines a bit and trying to be a little nicer to my joints. So, I am going to do the bike with a cardio coach and then ab work on the ball.

I tell ya I am so enjoying GS legs. I burn over 300 calories doing that leg workout and my heartrate stays elevated the whole time and it is a kick butt workout. To me it is much harder than the butts and gutts. So far not too much DOMS from it today.

Jackie, HAVE A GREAT RACE!!!!!!

Sunnydelite, let me kmow how you liked classical stretch. I am really thinking of ordering it.

Lori, I LOVE indian food!!!! It is pretty heavy though and can be hard on the tummy and the scale. Those 3lbs will be gone before you know it;-)

Carole, enjoy your long run and football. Any yummy snacks at football time?

CAthy, enjoy whatever workout you do. Is this a rest week just because or a busy schedule?

Lorie, I am so impressed you bought your exchange present all ready. You have me motivated now:)

Wendy, glad you had a good time out last night. I could never go to bed at 2:00 am. I am such a whimp! I have to be in bed by 10:15 or I am a cranky pants in the morning. What cardio did you do?

Christine, you are definitley in the holiday spirit. I am also have some non impact days. I find lately my knees have been acting up from all the impact. I find there are SO many options though for low impact. I find my heartrate to be just as high on the bike and elliptical as the step and running I do. Have fun with that long tough workout you have planned}(

Shelly, glad to hear the ankle is good this morning. Just a little DOMS today from GS legs. What is your favorite leg workout? Yes, you are definitley a ham(LOL)! Enjoy your long run!

Well ladies, I am off to the gym! Have a great day!

Susan

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Hi Folks.

For those of you that asked, I didn't work out yet so still no clue what cardio it will be yet.

Christine: What's your boss' phone number? I need to call him and talk to him about this 2.5 day work week garbage!:p :7 Your Turkey dinner sounds delish! Hope you enjoy it! Nice plan for low impact this week. Hope your achilles heels fast.

Shelly: Oh yeah...ONLY 14 miles. LOL How'd it go? Hope the ankle didn't give you any trouble.

Susan: You really find GS more difficult then B&G? That's funny-I'm the opposite. I love GS Legs but I find B&G much more difficult! I can't stay up til 2am like I used to but reverting back to my 20-something years now and again is a "neccessary evil" for me to keep my sanity. I need my "let loose time" for sure! Especially lately...

Coffee's on! BBL!

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Wendy..so you still keep in touch with the guy you used to date???..j/k..as I am in touch with a guy I dated in HS and that was so long ago!...:)...Imax2 is by far my fav Imax. This guy was diagnosed with Prostate in 2002, I think he had been doing ok until it went to the bones last March. He is in a much better place than we are right now.

Lorie..good job on the 4.4 miles. Wow..that half course looks tough...

Christine...have fun with APX upper. Take care of that achilles. If you like Hi/lo than yes I think Amy's Hi/lo Xtreme is a good workout.

Shelly..have fun with your "only" 14 miles!!

Susan..I agree GS legs is an awesome workout. I think my DH is cooking us a nice brunch for Football today!

I went 10 miles with my friend. It is kinda foggy and cold here so a warm house feels good. Took a little break from FB, now I gotta get back...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/football5.gif[/img]

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Hi cheetahpals! Back from a pretty nice run. I ran 14 miles in a tad under 2.5 hrs. That was pretty surprising since I did a tough workout yesterday and I had lots of hills. I tried a Hammer gel that I found I could actually tolerate (orange flavor) and it seemed to really give me a boost:) Okay, now I am very ready for a nice long nap. Goin into work tonight!

Christine- Sounds like a nice day for you and a very nice work week!
Take care of that achilles tendon! Lots of good low impact cardio for you to choose from!

Susan- Hi roomie!!! Are your cute girls gettin to ya yet? }( I'm with you on the best leg workout... GS by far!! Although B&G gets a strong honorable mention.

Wendy- Whatcha procrastinatin for?????;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Come on cutie pie, get movin!, maybe the java will help!

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Hello, ladies. Just popping in here to say that I've been feeling like a Cheetah lately!

Today was my 4th race in 2 months and I've been kicking butt! Had a 7K today (4.35 miles), clocked in at 35:40 (my goal was 36:00). Conditions were wintery.....wet snow, wind, 35 degrees! 2nd place in my bracket!

I've been thinking of you guys a lot lately, as my racing times get better and better!

HI EVERYBODY!!!!!!! I MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!! (but I've been lurking)

Gayle

RE: Cheetahs Like to Move It, Move It .............Sund...

Hi Cheethahs!

Just wanted to post my race results. I'll do personals when I get home.

Stick a fork in me! I'm done! I finished my half today in 2:20:07. This one felt much better. I started out slower and just kept a steady pace. I tried to stick with the Chi running cutting my strides in half. It wasn't as hard on my hamstrings I drank about 12 oz. of water before the race and took 16 oz. with me. Then, I tried to stop at every water station. I think this helped my legs this time. I also had some cliff bloks with me and ate one after every 3 miles. I didn't walk any at all but slowed enough to grab water. I was surprised I had some speed on the last few miles. I did enjoy the race much more today. Took a nice hot whirlpool bath and I'm just taking it easy before I head home.

I found out that I should get a trophy for all of this hard work. We get a party in January to receive it. And, I think we get some kind of garment too. I'm just so glad to be finished.

Hope you're enjoying your day!

Jackie
