:::Cheetahs:::Is it MONDAY already??

Morning, cheetahlicious friends~~~ :)

Christine ~ looks like a good course...I might get detoured at Champagne Fountain. *ha ha*...I wish road races would show the elevation, too. I love when they say "mostly flat and fast." :7 Glad the icing helped your back.

Jackie ~ I've bookmarked the link, thank you. Must be hard not to have a happy heart in a dream workout room/home like yours! But I like the positive reminder.

Gloria ~ I remember seeing some lesson plans using some of Johnny's songs. If I come across it again, I'll send you the link. I still haven't received the Socratic handout I was missing, but I'm still on it...OMG, "Pictures of You" -- perfect cry-in-a-root-beer song. :) Mmm, southwestern veggie cakes sound about my speed. Enjoy your day with DH today.

Gonna catch the weather here and hopefully head out and try my long run pt. II.

Have a great day~~

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Edited to remove some extra ski bunnies :7

Cathy: I think your instincts were right on y'day on your run. That definately would have creeped me out as well. Better to be safe then sorry anyway.

Gloria: I guess you got your ipod and are in the process of loading it up?

Christine: Glad you enjoyed your weekend in Napa. Back to reality now...It stinks, doesn't it? :p Great job upping your riding mileage. You are going to do great!

Carole: Yummy, I LOVE salmon! We buy the big bags on pre-cut frozen pieces at Costco. It makes for such a quick and easy meal and it's healty and delicious too! Can't beat that!:+

Jackie: Yeah, had fun this weekend. It's always fun! :) Our cable line up changed so we lost Fittv quite some time ago. It was okay for a while but IA that there were too many reruns.

Good morning ladies!

Ugh, I feel so out of the loop. I should have time to read through this weekend's posts tonight when I get home from work. It's just been one of those non-stop weekends and it's bleeding into today, too. I haven't even goten a workout in since Thursday and that really doesn't have me in the best of moods either. I had a mini-goal set for myself for the July RT and now I'm not sure if I'm gonna reach it. I know I've still got a couple of weeks so I guess it's time to really clean up the eating, especially after the amazing eats I've had this weekend with DSO :9.

Today was supposed to be a 10ish miler but, since I've got to be into work early, that ain't gonna happen. I'd love to get it in tomorrow before the heat kicks in though. Boy, is it humid here!

Yeah, that would be the other reason I can't get my workouts in. The girl who was hired to do barn chores in Boy Wonder's place gave 2 weeks notice last week and we haven't seen her since Thursday. Nice, huh *rolls eyes*. I'd now have to get up 3:30 every morning if I wanted to get something in and I really don't think that's in the cards.

Horse show was good...one of the horses was champion and the other was first and second.

Oh, and I actually got a got an email from my father for my birthday . What da ya know lol? Said he's been soooo busy travelling and just couldn't reply to my last message. Kind of a weak excuse when you have a Blackberry and a laptop with you every minute of the day but I guess I'll take what I can get.

Yikes, please excuse my very long and self centered ramblings this morning...sorry! I guess I just needed to let off a little steam. Done now :+! I'll see you gals later, I promise! Have a great day chicas!

Hi Cheetah Friends!

MIA has been my MO this weekend too. I won't bore you with the details but we had family obligations and parenting requirements that barely allowed a workout and did not allow any computer free time. Life will continue in this way for a while so posting from this Cheetah will be inconsistent at best. Regardless, I adore this group !

I hope everyone had a decent Independence Day Weekend and is back to reality and healthy choices.

Wendi- congratulations on your horses doing so well this weekend :) I am sorry about your father being so insensitive. My Dad, old and Italian and widowed for 20 years, will at most call me on my birthday, but he doesn't remember to call my kids on theirs or DH. (sigh) It will not likely change.

I am not at all up on personals and will try to jump in here and there. Please forgive and know that I will do what I can. My two youngest kids and I are headed to Boston later this week for a hockey tournament and college visit trip all in one. I may have time to check in during some down time as I will have a lap top with me.

PS- I did CC8 as my only workout this weekend and it was a blast! It was real mental challenge and gave me such a sense of accomplishment to have completed it!

Wendy~~~and other indecisive Cheetahs~~~ I am so on the fence about NROL4W right now. DS's trainer and I talked about it and he felt it was too beginner for me. (stage one was definitely too beginner) I am toying with changing things up. But I am not sure yet. This week I will do two NROL4W stage 4 workouts and then head out for our trip. I am not interested in downloading any of Alwyn's expensive programs based on price alone. Perhaps I will join the KB world soon. Total body workouts are still a preference for me over one or two body parts per day.

Ok, I better get this posted and move on :)

Thank you lovely Cheetahs for being such a great group!

Hi Cheetahlicious Babes!

I have P90X+ Total Body and HIIT on my bike on my agenda today. It's sooo nice to be back and able to contemplate real weights again. I'm very excited!! Back is feeling good, and cold is almost gone. Doesn't get much better than that. So, I'm in a good mood even with the prospect of a full work week ahead of me!! :p I'll be back with personals - I did something weird and lost my personals post (it posted yesterdays). So, I'll be back with those shortly.

Jackie – I’ve been enjoying the Olympic Trials, too. I’m really rooting for Torres in swimming. I want to see the “old” lady win a medal and show up those young whippersnappers! We still have a ton of fires going on. And more hot weather on the way. Very scary here.

Gloria – YES – let’s do the clean eating thing this week! We can list our meals here. I want to drop some weight before my long ride (the fact that bike shorts are not exactly forgiving appearance-wise is another incentive!). Enjoy your ride today! Your run yesterday sounds killer!

Cathy – Funny, I didn’t even notice Champagne Fountain – unfortunately, I believe that’s a neighborhood, not an actual fountain of champagne. Bummer!! There are a lot of wineries here in San Jose as well – we have one about 5 miles from our house. So a lot of things are named after them. I love flat and fast too! Enjoy your run!! Hopefully today’s goes well!

Wendi – glad the horse show went well!! Sorry you’re having so much difficultly finding good help!! That is not fun. I like your attitude about your father. It’s his loss, but it’s so hard to accept that sometimes. When WAS your birthday? Did I miss it?

Wendy – I love salmon as well. We grilled salmon and some veggies (squash, zucchini and green onions) last night and made a salad out of it. Very tasty! Yeah, reality stinks, but it’s nice to be home. :p

Jackie – we’re happy to hear from you whenever you can post. I LOVE CC8 – it’s a great challenge! Hope you decide about NROL4W and your next rotation. I thought you were seeing some good gains. Oooh, we may get you to join the kb world? That’s cool!

Good Morning Wonderful Ladies!

Cathy: Lesson plans that use Johnny? Bring em' on girl! :) Whenever you get the handout is fine, I haven't been worried about it, but thank you for keeping me updated. The veggie cakes are great, hope you like them as much as I do. I eat them with dijon mustard or hummus. Enjoy long run part 2. :)

Wendi: Glad you heard from your dad. Hang in there. That is cool you are going on the road trip. I am working on the eating too. :)

Wendy: Got the ipod and am in the process of downloading things. It is not an easy task for me. :)

Judy: I can always look forward to seeing you on Monday morning. The girls here seem to love the KB. You are one busy mom. Take care!

Christine: Hello lovely lady! Enjoy your workout.

The quads are feeling the run this morning. I might do NOTHING today since DH has the day off. He hasn't had a day off since the winter. He is sleeping in since he fished late last night. Downloading stuff to my ipod has been challenging for me. I learn as I go I guess. Not having high speed Internet is a PIA!!! At least the cell phone is faster than dial up. Have a FANTASTIC day everyone! :) :)

Christine: The only thing I have been able to download to my ipod is CC8. I am excited to try it. We are both racing this weekend. How exciting. I was cursing the sand yesterday. It is abundant here. I love salmon too. When I worked at Red Lobster I would eat it every day. Probably not a good thing. I knew the cooks and asked them not to put butter on it. You would not believe how much butter they put on everything! Yes, we will keep each other in check with the food this week. Enjoy your workout today. :)

Gloria ~ I will see if I can find the Johnny plans. I think they used "Folsom Prison Blues."...'K. Just lettin' you know about the status. Didn't want you to think I'd forgotten. Will for sure have it in your hands before summer's end. :) :) :) Enjoy a day of NOTHING if you opt for that. Did the t'storms come through? It is another muggy but dark & dreary day here. Lightly misted during much of my run.

Christine ~ Actually, I hate champagne. Was just makin' a funneeeee. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/geeks/th_dope.gif So glad you're feeling well again!

Judy ~ Our busy cheetah mom...enjoy your trip to Boston.

Wendi ~ congrats on the horse showing but sorry about the additional work complications...it is frustrating when you can't rely on the help. Also sorry about how things are with your dad. It must sting. Hope a little unloading helped.

Wendy ~ Yeah, my dad agreed that the driver's behavior was suspicious. Basically, when I changed direction, the van followed me, and then as soon as he saw I had company, he made a K-turn. He then waited up ahead and when we were back in view, I think he realized I still had someone with me, so he decided to take off altogether. Weird. You can never be too careful in this day and age. A guy in his 20s from this area was just convicted for murder. He killed a woman returning to her condo late at night. Stabbed her multiple times, including in the eye and then raped her on the lawn outside the condo. He tried to immobilize another victim by ramming into her with his car. People are nuts.

I had a difficult run this morning and wound up going just short of 9. Around mile 6, my back flared up big time. I don't know what brought that on. Previous runs with my Camelbak have been OK. Anywho, I tried to push through, but by mile 8, I realized I needed to pack it in. It was just too painful. Gotta figure out what this means for my training schedule. But for now, I'm off for a hot shower & some ibuprofen.

BBIAB~~~

One more thing . . .

My dear friend who I have been telling you about and her daughter (I introduced them to Cathe) are very interested in STS. We are going to buy it together and share it. What a great idea!!. Her daughter is coming home from China in two weeks (YAY), so we will talk about it then. It will be great, since we will be able to share tips, etc. I am excited. :)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...LMBO about those spec's in yesterday's thread...:D! I think we will be at 113 by wed!! Guess I will have to get to yard work early...Sorry about the back pain during your run. Do you think the camelback is causing it?

Wendi...sorry about the new girl ditching the job! Nice you heard from your Dad...

Wendy...I prefer to have the salmon fresh from the lake, but buying it is the next best option!

Christine...We are looking for about 110 today!...I think summer is here...I do remember the breeze thing about biking. I might have to get my mountain bike out someday...:)..You had a busy cooking day yesterday. Enjoy Total Body X+ and HIIT today.

Jackie...I have not had smoked salmon since last year. My DH has not had much luck catching any. So we have been buying it.

Gloria..I do like the Police and some of Fleetwood Mac. Def Leppard and Whitesnake too...:)..We have Boca Burgers sometimes. I prefer the Flame Grilled ones. I bet that was a tough run on the sand parts!! Hope you enjoy the day with DH. How nice you will get to try STS out!!

Wave's Hi to Judy!

Today is X+ Upper Plus & Abs/core and I will do about 40 min on my EXT. Then this afternoon I get a long awaited massage...:)

Have a great day...:)

Gloria ~ congrats on getting STS! Great plan to make it affordable.

Carole ~ wasn't that smiley cute? Love that site...I will have to do a rain dance for you...those temps, even without humidity, seem extreme. How hot does it have to be for you to forgo a little sunbathing?...I have used the Camelbak 2-3 times without incident, so I HOPE that was not the root of the problem. Not sure what my hydration options would be otherwise. Overall, it's a little discouraging. I wonder if I am in over my head maybe...? Oh, I am SO jealous http://forums.studioproducts.com/images/smilies/envy.gif of your massage!! ;) Enjoy! :7 :7 :7

Cathy: You are NOT in over your head with the marathon. If that is what you were talking about. Get that out of your head. Yeah, I am psyched about our plan for STS. :) As I have said before, it is silly to not have something from Cathe so innovative.

Carole: 80s hair bands. Gotta love em'! :) The sand is a problem here. I am constantly having to sweep the floor, as it is EVERYWHERE! Have a great workout today! :)

Cathy...I will have to check out that site! It is normal to get those temps here in the summer. Hopefully it will not last long. I still sunbathe, just early and not for very long. I don't think you are in over your head at all. Now is a great time to find out what kind of hydration plan will work. Remember too that on the marathon course they will have water and other sports drinks (besides food snacks) every few miles. I know some marathoners that never carry their own water. I need this massage badly...:)

Gloria...LOL about the hair bands! I didn't realize you had a sand problem. One thing I miss about Southern Cal, the beaches!

Hi Girls.

Quick post to say my work out is done. I did the first 5 sprints of ITread 19/30 for my HIIT + 5 min walking cool down + steady state run for a total of 4 miles in 43:15.

Gotta feed DS a little something now and then we have to pick up the dog from the kennel by noon. They are a groomer too so he's getting a bath before he leaves them. :)

BBL for personals~

Gloria ~ *lol* Thanks! Yes, that's what I was talking about. Some doubts crept in there that maybe it is going to be too hard on my body. The long runs have not been easy, even aside from today's back issue. I kind of hope that's normal for a lot of first-time marathoners...I think you are right about Cathe workouts. Unless it's all-step, I'll likely buy it. :7 Feel the same about Anthony DiLuglio's workouts. Like all the add'l bands you mentioned, too. I looked for the southwestern veggie patties today, but they only had the garden variety. I passed. No buffalo wings, either. Settled for hot buffalo wings pretzel pieces. Yum. }(

Carole ~ Oh, the site is www.millan.net. I am a subscriber, but I think you can get a lot of the images free...Same for me. I try avoid peak times in the sun, but lately, it's been so muggy that even then, I don't sit out for more than 15 and then I move to the shade...Thank you re: the marathon. You & Gloria gave me a needed boost. :7 I'm pretty sure Chicago offers Gatorade, but I should double-check. I really, really like the Cytomax, but I should probably train using what will be available on race day. How was your massage?

Stay chill today, my friends!

Good afternoon Cheetahs! Monday got here way too soon! x(

Wendi - Always on the go Cheetah! Hope things slow down a bit for you. My sculpting stick is ready! LOL!!! Just pick yourself up and dust yourself off and start again. You'll be ok! Seems like nobody wants to do those barn chores. Glad you heard from your dad.

Judy - Sounds like a busy week for you. Great job on CC 8!

Christine - Glad you almost have that cold whipped and you're feeling better. It makes a difference not being able to do weights. Sounds like you're ready to go. I stood there with my mouth open watching Torres. She is amazing and I hope she goes all the way. Love those abs she has!

Gloria - Great job on the run! Enjoy the day with DH. Hope you get some good tunes on that ipod. That's so cool that you have a friend to share in the cost of STS.

Cathy - Sorry the back interrupted your run. Smart to stop the run early. Not worth aggravating it more. Hope it feels better after the IB.

Carole - 113! That's hot! You could cook that salmon outside. Hope you had a good workout. Enjoy that massage and your Monday off.

I did 30 Day Shred Level 1 and thru circuit 2 of Level 2. It was a good workout. I used heavier weights on some of the moves. Will do the rest of the workout later in the week.

Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Cathy...thanks I found the site from your smiley...:)...here the peak time is between 12 & 2 but for some reason the temps get even hotter around 3-4. I try and get done before noon when it is this hot. I checked and the marathon said this "Water and Gatorade Endurance Formula will be available along the course. PowerGel will be available at one PowerGel Zone". I would for sure carry my own sharkies or gel probably. I will shoot them an email and see if they can give me the miles where the aid stations will be. Still 2 more hours until my massage. I did look lots like your monkey when I got out of the sun!

Jackie...LOL about cooking the salmon outside! The workout was hard but I like getting in a tough one before a massage. So what is 30 Day Shred? Sounds interesting.

Well it was 97 at 10 AM and 106 by 12:30! yep, I am inside right now!!

Jackie ~ Was that your first time trying 30 Day Shred? I don't recall you mentioning it before. Is that a DVD or from Jillian's book?...The ibuprofen didn't make much difference. I'll see how it is in the next day or two and get into the chiro if needed. Heated it some this afternoon. That helps. I wish I knew how I did this to myself! :p :7

Carole ~ awww, you are the BOMB! Thank you for looking that up for me. I do have the site bookmarked but hadn't gotten around to revisiting for any updates. I'm SO happy you're coming to Chitown!!! Other than this morning's run, I have only been out for brief spurts today. Really gross out there. BTW, any thoughts on what I should do re: this morning's botched long run? Do I try for 12 again on Sunday or move forward to 13?
