Cheetahs Happy Saturday!

Good Morning Everyone.

I figured I'd get us started since I am up at my usual time this morning. I have personals to catch up on anyway.

My elbow is still sore and not in any condition to lift so that puts the nix on bis and tris today but it IS getting better so I am happy about that. I will be sticking to the original plan of trying to learn the new step choreo today. Hopefully I last more then 10 minutes with out getting mad and shutting it off! LOL

Update on the cough: It's definately getting better but still hanging on. Perhaps it will get even better by tomorrow! One can hope!!!!

K, I'll be back for personals!

Sunny: OMG we need to go shopping together! Kohls and Target are da bomb!}( Then to come home and have the new work outs waiting for you!? How much better can a girl's day get!?!? LOL

Lorie: So how did the preview party go? That sounds like such fun. I am not a good/patient previewer but in a setting like that I think it would be fun.

Wendi: Ok so I think I'd want to KILL those people for rescheduling again! ARGH! How frustrating! Sorry that happened for a second time. :-(

Good morning cheetahs,

ms. wendy- what are you doing up so early on a sat? unfortunately i am up because i have to train a client at 7:30 (in her home) i usually train her on fridays but i couldn't make it yesterday because dh had an interview and i didn't have anyone to sit with my boys. i would love to have a shopping buddy....lol.. hope the elbows feels better quickly.

wendi- sorry about the rescheduling...again.

jackie- we are going to check out a few parade of homes today!

today, not sure if i will get in a workout. i planned on trying BC for 4ds, but do to a schedule change. i don't think i will be able to fit it in today:( i will report back later and let you know.

ttyl...:)

Hey Sunny...

This is when I usually get up...Anywhere between 6:00 and 7:00. I like to be up before DS so I have time to sit and relax and drink my coffee before he gets up. Sometimes I even work out if the mood moves me. }(

Have fun training your client. Atleast you don't have to leave your house. That gives you more time to do other things. Hope you can squeeze in a work out today!

Good morning, Wendy, Sunny, and all the fabulous cheetah babes! Happy Saturday backatcha! Am lovin' the quiet of the morning. Internet's actin' a little funky, though.

I'll be doing some work this morning and will head out for a midday run. Thankfully, we're back to comfortable temps again (low 70s).

Wendi :: can't *believe* they bagged out AGAIN! Do you say anything to them about it or do you have to just suck it up?

Lorie :: how cool that you have a nearby Cathe group. Hope you guys had fun previewing.

OK, I was browsing the VF forums this morning and saw that some folks participate in a holiday gift exchange over there. I know some of us did holiday cards last year, and I really enjoyed that. I was wondering if any cheetahs would be interested in a gift exchange. We could set a price limit...and a mail-by date...make it fitness-related (or not)...depending on what folks might be interested in. If there *are* cheetahs who want to do this, I'd be happy to volunteer to "coordinate" it in that you would PM me your name & mailing address, I'd put all participants names in hat, and then draw names randomly and let everyone know who they got. Here is the VF thread if interested in reading how they do it: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=109386

Thoughts?

ETA: OK, when I cut and pasted, I lost some of my post.

Wendy :: have fun practicing! Let us know how you make out. I may try a combo or two myself.

Sunny :: Don't know how you could've managed to wait til November for these. They are too good to hold on off on!!! Enjoy!

Hi everyone!

Quick check in for me. Today is a rest day. I'm headed out the door for my 8:30 massage in Memphis. Then DBF and I are going to see some more of the Parade of Homes. Haven't been sleeping well the past few nights. Hope it doesn't affect my race tomorrow.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Jackie

Good morning Cheetahs!

I previewed BBC last night and all I can say is YIKES! What I *think* I'm going to do is do one round of 4DS and then one round of BBC, with some runs thrown in here or there. This am was HIS in it's entirety...so much fun! I am glad that I previewed the weight work though because I had to get creative to match Cathe's weights...I just don't have that many heavy weight DBs and can't afford them right now. Holding two 10lbs DB by the heads for pullovers was kind of hard on my very small hands...I think my fingers felt more than my lats :p. The only other thing I have a hard time with (same with BBC) is not working with the tempo of the music. I guess because of my music/damce background I am very tempo driven and have to fight really hard to not stay with the music.

Wendy - So sorry about your elbow :-(. I must have missed what happened to it...I really haven't had a chance to rread through y'day's thread. I promise to catch up tonight!

Cathy - Nope, we have to continue to kiss arse until a possible sale is done...they are the customers after all and the customer is *always* right...*rolls eyes*.

I'm sorry I have to run. I'm late to work as it is! I PROMISE to catch up with everyone tonight. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs

Wendy...I hope that cough goes away soon, but they do seem to linger after a cold. I honestly think it will cause you no harm for the half. If you had started getting sick just a few days ago, that could be a factor. I have done a few races after being sick. Just try and take it easy today..Sorry about your elbow...the rain for my run was not bad yesterday. Supposed to be nice and sunny today...

Cathy...the Halloween bowling was fun although I am not too good! Have you ever seen the Elf bowling video games?? It rained a little on my run yesterday but not bad at all. I actually had a great run. Enjoy your midday run today. I will check out that thread at VF.

Wendi...yep, I'd be a bit irritated about rescheduling yet again! Glad to hear you enjoyed HIS. I think a round of BBC and then 4DS would be fun.

Sunny..I am a huge Target fan also and...our Kohl's should be open next month!!!

Shelly...I hope your stairclimb adventure is fun!! Now that you said 4DBC is a Shelly workout, I am scared!! I get mine monday and actually can't wait to try one!!

Lorie..so are you walking today?...I would send you guys some rain if I could!! I think we could have some drought problems if we don't get enough rain this winter..I will send some rain vibes your way....http://bestsmileys.com/weather/1.gif[/img] How was the preview party GTG?

Jackie...it just drizzled a bit on me when I ran, and glad I did early as it became a downpour the rest of the day! Enjoy your massage.

Susan...did you get the new workouts?...Hope you managed to force down some tempting Chevy food...:)...

Judy...how is the hip today? Good job making the 10 but sorry about the pain, does stretching help your hip? I am looking forward to the weight workouts, I am not sure I will try the 30 lb DB right off though!!

Kristi...I am sad you couldn't swing LV too. I do wish more cheetahs could make it...but I do understand when you can't..:)

Christine...glad you enjoyed Budokon...silly girl, you are FAR from a elephant and IMO you are quite fit! Your half photos were great! You look so relaxed, I always seem to look stressed!!

I am going to do CTX power circuits and 30 min on my EXT, and then some more legwork.

Have a great day...:)

morning, cheetahs! last night was SO MUCH FUN!!! it is so great to have other cathe women so close. we did preview the new workouts, but spent a lot of time chatting and catching up. i have already met some amazing women in person through this forum and it is so wonderful. i can't wait to meet some of my fellow cheetahs in vegas!!! i am so thrilled about that!

wendy-sorry the elbow is still bothering you. you must have really whacked it good! as far as previewing workouts, i have never previewed a workout. i want to be able to put it in and do it the first time. these do look like i will have to preview them before i can do them.

sunny-enjoy your unplanned rest day. sometimes, those are the best. :)

cathy-a holiday gift exchange sounds SO FUN! i will definitely participate!!!

jackie-i didn't know you lived in tennessee!!! df is from tennessee (dyersburg) and his brother lives in memphis. we are going to knoxville next weekend for the vols/s. carolina game. yes, it is a mixed marriage...i am a die-hard gator and df is a die-hard vol. we may have to go to counseling... ;) where in tennessee are you? sorry you haven't been sleeping well. i have always had terrible insomnia. last night, i tossed and turned until about 4 AM! hopefully, you will get a good night's sleep tonight. i am sure you will do great tomorrow.

wendi-i can not believe the people didn't show up AGAIN!!! how frustrating considering all the work you have to do to get the horsies ready. wtg on your AM workout!

carole-where do you live? i am in atlanta and the drought conditions here are TERRIBLE. amazingly enough, i am walking pretty well today. i have a bit of the booty doms and some in my quads, but not too bad.

anyway, today is football day. the tennessee/alabama game is at 1230 and the florida/kentucky game is 1530. my gators really need to win!!! no workout today. i think i did enough this week.

i will try to check in later. have a wonderful saturday, cheetahs!!!

Hi All! I’m so happy it’s Saturday. We have coming for DH’s Indian food tonight – that will be fun! Today is a trail run with Jimmy on our favorite trail. I’ll need to do a nice LONG one in order to compensate the vast quantities of food I’ll consume!

GO SHELLY GO!!!!

Wendy – I sure hope your cough goes away by tomorrow! But you’ll do well anyway! Can’t wait to hear your report! Hope the elbow heals quickly! Banged elbows are painful!

Sunny – Hope you get in your workout! I might be in your area end of January… So, maybe we could meet for lunch or something.

Cathy – A holiday gift exchange sounds like fun! I think it should be fitness related, but I can be flexible – it might also be fun to do a “in my part of the country, we have this…” type thing since we’re scattered all over. Count me in!

Jackie – enjoy your rest day – and what a way to enjoy with a massage!!! Sounds like a great day!

Wendi – sorry about the horse cleaning in vain! No fun! Hope you can get your higher weights soon! That is tough. I know.

Carole – you’re too sweet! Thanks for the compliments. I think the relaxed look comes from knowing that there is no way in heck I’m going to finish even close to first, so I may as well enjoy the run. :p

Lorie – I love meet Catheites! We have sooo much in common and never seem to have any awkward notes or anything. I’ve adored everyone I’ve met. Glad you had a great time! Go Gators!! I’m a Penn State Fan, but I like the Gators, too!

Enjoy all!

Greetings :)

This morning was tight for time so I opted to skip the forums and workout. 4DS LIS shoulders/ core was a nice workout. The step was fresh and new, and the shoulder workout was probably my favorite shoulder series to date. I found the form pointers and comments to be quite helpful. The core work was a challenge, but I find all core work challenging these days. I am just not into it for some reason.

Wendi- They cancelled again? geesh!

Lorie- Your review GTG sounds fun.

Wendy- I am Sorry about the elbow mishap. Good luck (again) tomorrow

Christine- Thank for sharing your pictures! You look great girlfriend!

Go Shelly GO!- step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step

HI Jackie and Sunny and Carole!

Cathy- I liked the Holiday card exchange idea, however I am not personally fond of a gift exchange. It justs makes our to do lists longer than necessary IMO. Enjoy your quiet day :)

Good Afternoon.

I just finished my run through 4DS LIS. I was actually able to catch on to it for the most part after previewing combo 1 and then rewinding some parts a few times but I have to admit there are parts that are still very touch and go and when it came to stringing all 3 combos together...FUGGETABOUTIT! :p :7 That's all I am doing today.

Cathy: I would love to do a gift exchange but perhaps we can do it a little differently then what the VF folks are doing. I'm in though!:)

Wendi: I agree that it was very hard to lift and ignore the beat of the music but I fought the urge and stayed with Cathe. I tend to be anal about doing exactly what she's doing!:p Sounds like you need to ask for some heavier DB's for Christmas girl!;)

Carole: Sounds like a nice tiring work out for the legs you have on tap today. ENJOY!:) I am taking mucinex and the cough is continuing to get better. Hopefully this trend continues so that I am not hacking for 13 miles!:p I am glad that you and the rest of the Cheetahs think I will be okay anyway. Makes me feel better about my decision to go through with the HM. :)

Lorie: Glad you had fun last night! Previewing the 1st combo in LIS really helped me figure it out although I must admit that the first move STILL took a good amount of practice compared to the rest of the combo! Combo 2 I didn't find to be all that difficult but then I had some troubles with #3. Oh well...practice makes perfect. Atleast now I shouldn't be totally frustrated with it.

Christine: Enjoy the indian food and the company tonight!!! How far did you and Jimmy end up going today?

Judy: Glad you enjoyed LIS. I love that shoulder work! The most intense that I ever recall doing!

Off to take more mucinex!

Later!:7

Hello again, cheetahs~

Just ate lunch and am kickin’ back a bit before I head out for my run. Then I’ll continue working. I’ve got my ears pinned back and I’m plowing away. I have just a bit more grading to do and then I need to make a serious dent in this neglected certification work of mine!!

Jackie :: enjoy your massage and rest day! Sounds like just the right thing after some restless nights. Hope you get some good zzzzz’s in tonight before tomorrow’s race.

Wendi :: I hope after all this trouble, they buy the horse(s)!!

Carole :: yes, I was definitely hooked on the elf bowling when that came out…I don’t think I’ve ever tried Power Circuits. I just looked it up in the catalog…looks interesting. Is the choreo tough?

Lorie :: have fun watching the games!

Christine :: enjoy your trail run with Jimmy & have fun indulging tonight. I went over points this week with a little TOO MUCH indulging, so I need to regroup. I fear the scale this Monday.

Judy :: I do understand not wanting to participate in the gift exchange. You and Wendy have me seriously itchin' to try LIS and the shoulder/core workout…thanks for the reviews.

Wendy :: I agree w/ the rest of the cheetah crew that you will do great tomorrow…I remember doing a 10-mile race once on day one of TTOM…I had *wicked* cramps that day and felt like HELL…but as you know, the race scene always gets you pumped and mind over matter kicks in.

Shelly :: don't know if you have your laptop with you, but sending strong race vibes your way!! Bet you're kickin' some butt at Bisbee!

Re: the gift exchange…I agree, Christine, that my vote would be for it to be fitness-related. And Wendy, I agree, too, that we can do things a little differently than the VF folks. It looked like they suggested an exchange of videos/DVDs only. One thing I liked was that they asked for it to be mailed by Dec. 5th. Would be good to get it done early and avoid the chaos of the high season. I imagine we'll have some more interested cheetahs and can toss around some more ideas/preferences before deciding.

Yikes Cathy! What a day to do a 10 mile race! LOL I recall running 5 miles with my running buddy last summer at 8 am with a a wicked hang over and severe lack of sleep! I ALSO got TTOM that day! Thankfully the cramps didn't kick in until the run was done but when I got home from the run I could do nothing but lay in bed for 3 hours. I was hurtin' sooo BAD! I made it through the run and ran it in good time though I have no clue how! }(

I think keeping it to fitness stuff is a good idea. It will help make the shopping a bit easier as the choices are narrowed down a lot. What I was thinking was that everyone involved should make up a list of maybe 3 things that they'd like that fall within the $ limit so that nobody gets a gift that they don't want/like yet the element of surprise is still there since the giver has a choice of what to purchase. Any thoughts on that?

Hi All -

Doing a quick post, sorry, but busy!! Jimmy and I ended up hiking about 6.5 miles. It was more of a hike than a run because my achilles is still really bothering me. I'm planning on doing a complete non-impact week next week to really rest it. But, Jimmy had a blast. It's cool and a bit breezy here, the leaves were blowing around and the acorns were dropping (I thought of you Carole!). Jimmy decided that he really likes acorns - so he would trot along, scoop one up, trot a bit further, then delicately spit out the parts he did not like. Funny dog. But mission accomplished - I have a pooped pup! Gotta like tired dogs! :+

Enjoy everyone! And Cathy I would definitely like to avoid videos - something else fitness related would be fun. How are we going to "draw" names?

Wendy :: I think that’s a great idea about making a wish list of 3 items within the price limit. Should the price limit include shipping?

Christine :: on VF, they have it set up so that everyone who’s interested sends an email to the “contact person” (for lack of a better term)…She then draws randomly for everyone and sends them an email of who they have. Is there another way we could do it?…Actually maybe someone's DH could do the drawing and email everyone, so it would be a surprise even to the contact person. Or perhaps someone who isn't participating would be willing to draw the names and send out the emails for us...Sorry to hear the achilles is still a bit tender. Glad you and Jimmy enjoyed your acorn-filled hike.

I ran 6.16 miles (beautiful weather ~ loved every minute!) followed by the KB core work (yowzas! good stuff!) and the LIS warm-up & combo #1, just for learning purposes. It may be the simpler of the two step routines, but uh, I definitely need practice!! Warmup was OK but combo #1 was tricky (for me). But it does look like it’ll be fun once I learn the moves. Overall, it's just one big lovefest for this 4DS so far. I'm obsessed with it! *lol*

Have a great night! Off to shower and then hunker down with more work. Can't believe it's already 4 pm. Time flies way too fast.

Cathy: I think shipping should be separate from the $ limit for the gift but ofcourse the possible costs to ship should be factored in when deciding the limit on the gift. Understand what I'm TRYIN' to say? LOL

I just got back from dropping DS off at my mom's. DH and I are gonna take it easy tonight because I need to conserve all of my energy for 10am tomorrow morning! It seems such a shame to stay in and do nothing when DS isn't around but really, what choice do I have? :p

Well, I'll be back later to see what's goin' on!

BFN!

Good evening ladies!

I know everyone's watchiing football or just kicking back and enjoying the weekend so this will be a quick catch up on personals.

Carole - OMG I loved when I had Elf Bowling on my last cell phone, especially when they'd turn around and moon you! You're going to love your new Kohl's! It sounds like your run yesterday was very well timed.

Lorie - I'm so glad the GTG was so much fun! I'm impressed that only your booty is talking to you after previewing the Nazi's workout! I wish I could have sent some of last night's rain your way...we certainly got more than we needed. Enjoy the football!

Christine - I loved your pics from your HM...I only wish I could look that cool and collected when I run :D. It sounds like you had a very enjoyable hike (although I hope your Achilles quiets down) with Jimmy. It sounds like he kept himself quite entertained with the acorns :+.

Judy - How was your hip today? I'm sorry it bothered you during your run...WTG on your second 10 miler.

Wendy - Okay, the elbow incident sounds like something I would do! I hope it heals quickly...yyeeouch! I know you'll have both LIS and HIS down soon enough. Now, rest up, get some good sleep and then ROCK THAT HM!!!!!!!!!!!

Cathy - It sounds like you've been up to your eyeballs in work lately. It's amazing you've been able to get all those great workouts in! Count me in the lovefest for the new series. I absolutely can't wait to do KB tomorrow!!! That was some workout you put together today WTG!

Sunny - I adore my Kohls! What a great deal you got on those sneaks!

Hasta manana!

Good afternoon ladies,
I just got back from taking my kids to see high school musical on ice. They LOVED IT!!!! It was a nice family thing to do:)

Okay, I did the kickbox and bootcamp combined cardio last night. It is called cardio power. It was GREAT!!! It is definitley high impact, but the time flew by and it was so much fun. The total cardio without the warm-up was about 45 minutes. I really really liked it!

Today, I am going to do some upper body weight work from the new series. I am so psyched about these dvd's.

What a great idea ladies about the gift exchange. I love keeping it fitness related too. Cathy, thanks for bringing it up:)

Well, I have indulged WAY too much these past couple of days. I am ready to behave now. It is so hard because we have been going out so much lately. Tomorrow we are taking my MIL to Sizzler to eat. She loves that place. I will have to just stick to the salad bar. Even though I swear I eat more at the salad bar than I would ordering a steak and potato}(

I am off to do my weights! Have a great evening ladies!

Wendy, Good luck on your HM! That will be quite an achievment.

Cheers!

Susan

Hey

Hi Cheetahs! Today was a beautiful day. I took DD in the baby jogger and Chelsea for a short 2 miler. I really wanted to run farther, but DD and Chelsea both were not up to it. Oh well, tomorrow I will be running solo, so hopefully I will get in a 5 miler.

Cathy - I love the gift or card exchange idea. Funny, you should mention VF. I was considering signing up there for the gift exchange this year. However, I'm not sure if there is anything I need fitness-wise.

Wendy - Good luck in your HM tomorrow! I'm sure you will do great. I can't wait to read your race report.

Sorry this is so short, I need to do a few things before I go to bed. I'll try to be back tomorrow. Have a great night.
