.::. CHEETAHS .::. Happy Friday!!

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, everyone! J J J

Linda—I don’t post there, either. Used to visit more often, but time is an issue. Thought it was cool that Chicago had its own forum. Very helpful. As I mentioned to Wendy, I won’t be raising money for charity next time, but I do think Livestrong is an excellent organization. However, an FYI: if you don’t secure your own entry, the fundraising minimums are very high.

Jackie—little bit of a chill here, too. Gives more tempo to those tempo runs. J That sounds like it’s going to be an entertaining race. Gotta love the distractions.

Judy the taskmaster—you are too funny! Another busy weekend for you. Sending good vibes to DS that he is fit for the tourney and to DD for a successful regatta.

Wendy—What a great way to commemorate your 18 miler. I know this one was very important to you.

All right, ladies. I'll be doing a circuit later, maybe EXT-based. Hope your Friday is terrific!

Good Morning Everyone. TGIF! :D

Today's work out is Low Max. I *may* change it up a bit. I am considering going for a 3 mile run right after work and then coming home and doing the Low Max Blasts only. Not sure yet though so we'll see what happens. For someone who wanted "a break" from running, I'm sure not takin' one, huh? :p

Cathy: I was thinkin' last night about getting a print made from every race I've ever done (that DH took pics at) and buying one of those collage frames to put them in. Problem is, the room I would hang the frame in is small and there is almost no more wall space left in it. The 18 miler was a great confidence booster for a full mary even despite the lousy conditions I ran under. I KNOW I could have done better if I was at 100% that day so I'm very encouraged that as long as I can push through the training (this is where TNT will be very helpful!) I can complete the marathon. So there was mention of Shelly doing an ultra. Do you think you'll ever move on to a longer distance then a marathon or perhaps try your hand at a triathalon or something?? :) So any fun plans for the weekend? I have to visit Target at some point. ;)

BBL!

Good morning Cheetahs!

I'm sorry I'm short on time this morning and will have to get to personals later:eek:. I was actually gonna *try* and get a workout in this morning since I have a show tomorrow and will have to take tomorrow as my rest day, but, with the late night last night I just couldn't do it:confused::(. Oh, well, whatchagonnado?

Had a great night at bowling...as a team we did very, very well and should move up to 5th from the 10th spot we were in this week so we're quite happy wth that. No hammie issues so I felt back to my old self:). I was aware of it for the first couple of games but nuttin' noteworthy:). I think I've found my new Thursday am workout from now on;)!

Gotta scoot for now...finish cooking up some chicken for lunch, pack up and get outta here. I"ll talk to you guys later! Have a great day!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...Cloris is a joke....I bet she wins!! I almost bought the Pumpkin cereal when I first started looking at cereals. Banana Nut crunch came up in one of my "get suggestions" on the nutrition software. Sorry you missed packing your running shoes!! Glad you got them and squeezed in a run...:)..have fun with your circuit later today.

Wendy...hope things check out well with the Lady Dr. Enjoy your run and Lowmax.

Wendi...way to go bowling. Glad the hammie is not bugging you much.

Dallas...IA about family stuff. I have some outrageous stories too (mostly about DH's family!!) Good job with getting in 4.6 miles. Thanks for the compliment. I have to tell you ladies...I bet 50 will feel great!! You all have nothing to fear...:)

Posh...is it "Leaving on a Jet Plane"..? Hope you enjoyed your outside run. Funny with 11 miles being the furthest one there are 5 Rite Aids in my area!!...:D...I only hit 3 most of the time. LMBO about MT eating ALL the dinners! We sure did have a similar workout yesterday.

Christine...
happy%20birthday3.gif
to DH! I hope you all had a nice dinner out.

Jackie...hope the DOMS is better today. Good job with the iTread and yoga.

Linda..Okay...now I get your friend Patty! Even when I did my 2 ultras (50K/31 mi) I did not run farther than 23-24 for training. I think there is not ANY problem doing your long run on Saturday instead of Sunday..:)

Shelly..glad you are feeling strong as it is getting closer for your marathon. Do you have any specific goal? Yes, I have an older (oldest actually) sister. I am still waiting for my Mom to tell us she is really our cousin as she is just like my Uncle...irritating!!! Thanks...I am getting that "feel good" feeling about running again. I want to push the long runs but I know it is not time yet! Did you like the new Gu flavor?

Today is some bi and back work and a 4.5 mile tempo run.

Have a great day..:)

Jackie – Great job on the run and yoga!

Judy – Sending prayers and good vibes for your DS! I hope he’s 100% soon! Good job on your KB workouts and run! Kudos for upping the weight! There was a period of several months that I could not get into this site at work. I was so aggravated!

Wendy – That is great that you ordered your pics! They were all so good, though…I don’t know how you kept from ordering one of each! ;) They were really good. Yes, intimidated is how I feel when it comes to posting at RW. But I do love the site :) Enjoy your run and LowMax…or LowMax (whichever you do decide to do)!

Cathy – When you say “secure your own entry”…I feel stupid asking…..but what do you mean by that? I did read the “Chicago” checkin. I loved it cause I knew you guys were running that one, plus it is one that I really do want to run :) Enjoy your EXT circuit!

Wendi – Congratulations! That is a big jump on your team’s place! Good luck with the show tomorrow!

Carole – Enjoy your run ant the bi and back work! I am glad you understand a little more why Patty was thinking the way she was on what we should do :) She sure did put me in a panic for a while! ;) I was askeered !! ;) I knew I couldn't do what she was saying! Some of the guys are around our age….but they are definitely “elite” runners and/or ultra runners. THen, there are some younger. They are all running our race, too. So, the Banana Nut Crunch is good? I have never tried it. I will have to try that one, too .

I got up this morning to do a short (3 mile) run and some pilates. But where I have been feeling like I am coming down with something….I went back to bed and did nothing. Tomorrow I “plan” to do my last long run. My chest was kind of burning yesterday, as well as my throat (around my collar bone area). Seems like every time that happens, I get sick. When I get something in my chest, it hangs on forever and I get really sick. I feel better….so far :) DH brought me some apples. He said they were “special apples” that will make me well :)

Hey to everyone! BBL!

Happy Friday All!!

Gloria – Good job on ME Upperbody split and your run!

Cathy – Too cool on the marathon photo package. I have photos from both of my halfs. Your mishap at school sounds like something I have done. I was going mountain biking with DH. We packed the bikes and everything, drove up to the top of the mountain (all 11 hair raising miles of that), only to find that I left my shoes at home. So we had to turn around and go back.

Wendi – You’re as bad as I am in deciding what you want to do. But you always put together some killer workouts! Yes, the triceps in HSTA are good! I love HSTA. It’s one of the few circuits that really work the legs. Glad you had a great night bowling last night!

Wendy – I’m not a fan of Low Max either. I don’t know why. I’ve heard nothing but good from TNT training. I think you’ll do well with the fund raising. I think you’re smart to skip a work out if you’re not feeling it.

Carole – I have a younger sister who can be a major pain. I love her, but I can only take her in short doses. I told DH the other day that we need to move closer so I don’t have to spend DAYS with her, just hours. I think you and Posh will survive without kettlebells. :p

DallasHow’d the flu shots and all that go? I hope you can come out to cheer the gals on in Napa! That would be fun! If you click “keep me logged in”, the forums will never fully log you out. I’m just helping out at work. My two coworkers will be back, and they did get pretty much everything caught up, so it’s not too bad.

Posh – Okay, I’ll leave ya alone on the kettlebells. As I told Carole, you’ll survive without them. :D How’s Smokey doing? I love the story of the little girl you sponsored for your run. That makes it so real, doesn’t it? Your running a marathon made a difference in that girl’s life. Amazing. No better feeling in the world.

Linda – Must be cool in your neck of the woods. It’s warm here, but I’m in the mood for soup anyway and will make Moroccan Lentil Soup today. I love Lentils! I never work too hard - I'm in sales. :D

Shelly – Glad you’re able to post every now and again! You got snow in AZ, didn’t you? I think you’ll notice the difference when it’s a wet snow. 10 degrees in Colorado and 10 degrees in Philly are completely different. I don’t miss the bone chilling damp – but I do miss the snow. :) Oh the Philly Marathon will be incredible! I like Philly – it’s a pretty city! And if the Phillies win…. :D

Jackie – Good job on the run and the Yoga. That yoga sounds great, actually! Your race sounds like a good time!

Judy – What weight are you using for AOS? I’m glad DS15 is doing well at Physical Therapy. He remains in my thoughts!

I’m so happy it’s Friday! I did take DH out for dinner last night. There were six of us (DS25 and his GF and good friends of ours). We had a good time and I did not eat too much. Yeah! I’m still not 100% today, so we’ll see what I feel like doing. I’m going to work from home, so I have time to get in a workout. It’ll be something low key probably. Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning Ladies!

I'm about to head out for my run. It's a cold one, but I'm sure it will be fine once I get going.

Linda ~ That's cute about the apples. Your dh sounds like a sweety. :) Sending the healing {{{vibes}}}. I'm the same, if it's gets in the chest I can't shake it. You definitely don't need that now. The extra rest was a good idea. Yeah, that flu is the worse. I've had it three times and was down for two weeks each time. :( Not easy when you have kids to take care of. Sounds like you have ideal race weather. Wish we could be on the sidelines cheering you on!! :)

Carole ~ Well, I hope you're right. 50 is the new 40, right?? Well, that means I'm turning 30. ha ha Seriously though, you're in great shape, eat well, etc. I have no doubt turning 50 will matter much. It's just a number anyway. ;) I wish I could say the family stories where DH's, unfortunately it's my family. Is that your second tempo run this week? What type of running rotation do you follow (i.e. how many interval runs, fartleks, tempos per week)?

Wendi ~ congrats on the great bowling night. :) Hope your work day in uneventful.

Cathy ~ IA, if I choose to go through TNT again, I won't bug family/friends this time around w/my fundraising. I'll have to get creative. ;) Find any good gossip in your mags last night? ;) Everything ok? You seem "quiet" these days.

Jackie ~ Great job with the workouts! Where can I read about your yoga for hips and thighs? Is it short?

Judy ~ Glad your computer is working properly now. What happened to DS15? I'm sending healing {{{vibes}}} his way. Sounds like another busy weekend for you. We have three games, but not too far. :) Good job on the kettlebell weight increase.

Wendy ~ Glad Joey is on the mend? I didn't know that about this forum. I did find that the editing is greatly extended here. :) Glad Joey is on the mend. Kids are so resilient.

Hi to all who follow!

I'll check back later. Better get out for that run.

Good morning Cheetahs!

Judy - Glad DS did well in therapy yesterday. Keeping him in prayer. Must have him healthy for the tournament.

Wendy - A pic of you and Shelly will be nice to have. Haven't done Low Max in some time now. I do enjoy it whenever I do. What a great idea to make a collage of your races!

Cathy - This distractions is one of the reason I decided to go ahead and go for the half. I so want my feet to hold out too. Enjoy your circuit.

Wendi - Yay for the good bowling night! That's quite a jump for your team.

Carole - You're too funny about your sis being your cousin! :D Enjoy your weight work and your tempo run.

Linda - Sending feel good vibes your way! ))))))))))) No getting sick! Sweet of DH to bring you special apples.

Christine - Sounds like a fun night last night! Good job with the eating. Feel good vibes coming your way too. )))))))))))) Have a nice easy workout.

Dallas - How was the run? I need to find me some little knit gloves for those cold Saturday mornings. The yoga I did is by Gaiam. It's called Body Solution (I think that's right) on the sight. The workout is Yoga for Hips & Thighs by Suzanne Deason. It also has a pilates workout on it.

I did an easy 3 mile run and 2 sets of each move on Slo Mo Bi's & Tri's and the Core workout.

Neighbor and I agreed to run Saturday of next weekend. He'll be out of town this weekend. Will see how that goes.

Gotta get to work! Have a fantastic day!

hi

Wooo hoo! Friday!

Hiya Cheetahs,

I have to be in early for day shift today, so I’m gonna have to see how quick I can post today..lol. No time for a workout this morning but if all goes well, I can squeeze something in tonight. No High School football for me tonight as DS’s game in way up in Placerville and they ride the bus there before I get off work…anyway, I have a free Friday eve…

Christine – Happy Birthday to DH! Hope dinner was divine….Any rides planned for our Cyclin’ Cheetah this weekend? Hope the cold didn’t stick around….eta – there you are! Glad the dinner went well. Thanks for asking re:smokey, see post to Cathy…good idea to work from home today..

Linda – Re: fundraising – I sent out the “letter” to my family, friends, co-workers, etc.. Also, fortunately for me, DH is a Superintendent in commercial construction so he was able to give the letter to some of the sub-contractors. DH’s assistance helped get anywhere from $100 to $250 donations from each company. Also, every marathon I fundraised for, my dear sweet sister donated $500. Yes, I’ve done a garage sale. Another great thing was a gal that works at our local gas/store, knitted an afghan to donate for a raffle (she makes very pretty stuff). All the ticket sales money went to my TNT donations and the best part is we invited Jessica (my lil’ honoree) and her family up to a small “craft faire” held in the p-lot of the station one weekend, and let her draw the winning ticket. Well, she drew the station owner’s name (owner’s spouse) – we called him to let him know and he said, “give Jessica the afghan”. So my little honoree I sponsored for the run got to have the beautiful afghan…woah, sorry for the long story….lol…so much for making it quick, eh?

Shelly – Yeah, I’m trying new ways to be able to post like starting a few responses in Word while I read the posts the night before and then finishing up in the am to post. Also, I have no classes this semester and only one kid at home at the moment, so me thinks this is freeing up a little more time. I just have to not spend too much time on the computer so I can get the workouts in. Yeah, the roads are better than TM, but I only took a break this week from the pavement – thought it may aid in any recovery I needed from Chicago. But, I feel perfectly fine and will start back building miles to be ready to cyber train with my buddy Carole for Napa….woo hoo! Will be interested in hearing your review of the new GU.

Cathy – Smokey is so-so, thanks for asking. After he went off the bute, he declined a bit in the walking department – not real bad, but noticable, but his spirits are still good and eating is vigorous, etc. I called vet, she’s in Hawaii this week, got a return message from subbing vet to give him the bute this week and then I’ll talk to other vet on Monday…Um, love the Jacuzzi/steam but I don’t have it here at home, they’re at the gym. I WISH I had a Jacuzzi at home though,…hmmm…need to look into that someday as what is a POSH Cheetah without a Jacuzzi at home??!??!?!. LOL’d (sorry) about you leavin’ the shoes home….I totally do stuff like that all the time. One time I forgot my friggin work clothes and had to wear stinky running stuff (after a gym shower) to work – eh, yeah, that was a joke…

Dallas – Yeah, once the boys decide on football it’s pretty solid. Keith started to “goof off” in 8th grade (SS teach and I used to email back and forth) and let his grades slip. He’s a smart, capable student so it was clearly his choice to behave like a jack azz. Anyhoo, he wanted to play Jr. Falcon football so bad, but DH said no way he was going to put out the money and effort if Keith wasn’t. Sooooo, it turned out great, because he worked his hiney off to get caught up and ended up joining the high school football team as a Freshman (they start the summer prior to semester), but he did miss out on the Jr.’s during 8th grade due to his choices. Participating in football has been the incentive for Keith to get a clue and keep his grades up – he loves his football too! Wow, I am posting some mini-novels today, geez..

Jackie – LOL – yeah, I can see how some peeps would fall asleep after a Jacuzzi, but I find them invigorating – especially after a solid workout. Which yoga do you have for hips and thighs? Are you still running your 10 miler this weekend without your new running friend? So cool that you have someone close by to train with.

Judy – Sending healing thoughts to DS and good luck to DD and the Regatta. Have a great weekend!

Wendy – That’s great you and Shelly took such good pics. Mine are always disgusting…. Sounds like DH has taken some great pics, though and I would definitely be printing out some of them to frame – sometimes they’re better than the pro’s…

Wendi – Great game! Congratulations! Hope your weekend goes well.

Carole – Ding, ding, ding….you win the prize! LOL…yeesuh! That’s the song! Did you say you got the entylens at Rite-Aid? Hmmmm, I’ll have to go take a peek in ours and see. I’d like to try them sometime…

Ok, gotta a move on here….seems I go to post and then another Cheetah posts and woah,…I’ve been on here too long! YIKES! LOL

Have a fabulous Friday ya’ll!

POSH :D

Good morning cheetahs! I came back a little while ago after a very nice brisk 8 mile hilly run. I need to invest a little in some good high quality warm running gear. Especially gloves. I have a touch of Reynaud's syndrome and my fingers are really suffering at times. Still I am enjoying running so much lately as I think we all are!!
Wendy- Hey, can you e-mail me that pic your DH took? I think I will frame that one! It was so special that I could share that event with you!! You sound like you're in fabulous shape now and I'm so glad that your enthusiasm for running hasn't diminished at all! Going with TNT is a very wise decision for you. If they were in my area I'd be training with them as well. Unfortunately, living in the remote country my choices tend to be limited, but I still wouldn't have it any other way. Glad you made an appt with the crotch doc. Hey, I'm a nurse and I'm allowed to be a tad crude!;)

Cathy- LOL about forgetting your shoes! Absolutely something I would do and have done!!! I'm getting more and more "senior" moments (sigh)
I make myself a list now before I go ANYWHERE. To work, on a run, whatever. "Hey, Oatmeal Brain---- Take THESE with you!!"----#1, etc.
Well.... we do what we hafta! TGIF!!! wooohooo I hope you don't have a mountain of homework, grading etc to plow thru! Have fun with your circuit tonight.

Dallas- Oh my, we are sympatico this am eh? Hope your 8 miler is going well for you! Thanks re: the race pics with Wendy. My "look" has changed significantly this year. I simply haven't had the time to make a hairdresser appt with all this relocation business and it's gotten really LONG (and gray unfortunately!) Also, I broke my last set of contact lenses and decided I was tired of dealing with them so I've gotten to wearing glasses now. Really looking every one of my 51 yrs now:(
But I definitely don't FEEL like it and that's what counts!:D

Linda- Forgot to thank you yest. for the update on your DD! I will continue to keep her in my prayers. I think she will quickly adapt and learn which foods are "safe". Got a kick out of your DH's "Special Apples".... hope they do the trick! There is alot of power in your mind ya know! Don't let no nasty old germ have it's way with you!!!!

Jackie- That upcoming HM sounds like a lot of fun!!!! Especially ending in a stadium... that will be a hoot! Nice job on the TM yest and today's run! Keep up the good work!

Judy- Prayers for your DS that he continues to do well with the PT.
DH at a Valve conference? Got to admit, that sounds kind of funny and I'm in a health care profession too! ;) Hope you are enjoying Rumble and I look forward to hearing your take on it.

Wendi- Congratulations on a good nite of bowling there Ace!!!

Carole- It would be nice to be able to better my last marathon time (from Vegas) but I'm not all that hyped up about it honestly. I will definitely be carefully watching my pace for the first half and will try to keep it to 10:00, then increase the second half as tolerated. Whatcha doin for your pace on your tempo runs? Do you have a goal for Napa?

Christine- Glad to hear you are feeling better and that you'll be having a good work at home and light workout day as well! Your DH's B day dinner sounded like a nice one! I actually could make out the Phillies stadium from my old Philly apartment. It must be quite chaotic there now!!!
There were some Philly players who stayed in the penthouse apts on the upper floor of my building. I lived on the peasant class floor (LOL).

That's it for now cheetahpals! Gotta go out for some shopping with DH... his favorite activity!

Hey Posh! Posting together! I like your system for posting.... gonna try that!
I did try the new GU today... had a half a pack! Quite yummy and I did feel pretty strong on those hills today! WOOHOOO a free Fri eve? I'm sure you will make the most of it!!

Good Afternoon Girls!

Well, I ended up giving myself "permission" not to do the Low Max blasts this afternoon. I ran 3.75 miles of intervals on the TM after work today. I think that was enough for one day. ;) I used the interval program on the TM for the first time. It worked out pretty well. I liked it and will use it again. :)

Tomorrow is my Centergy class which I HAVE to take as I am running out of time to get my classes in for the month! I am also planning on doing PUB as produced (minus ab work) and PLB floor work only as my rotation calls for. Sunday is supposed to be KPC but that may change. :p

Shelly: Sure, when I get the pic on my computer I'll be happy to email it to ya. I'll keep ya posted. It's a new camera and we haven't downloaded the software yet! LOL I am super excited about training with TNT. The more I hear about it, the more I know it's the right choice for me. I wanted to run with them because of my dad to begin with but now that I am hearing how great they are, I'd probably want to run with them no matter what. :) Happy shopping for cold weather gear. I've never invested in good cold weather gear. It's an excuse NOT to have to run in the really cold weather!:p

Posh: So whatcha' gonna do with your FREE friday evening? Excited or what!? :D All of the professional pics of me up until now have been way gross. I'm surprised every pic they took at the 18 miler was decent. I need Shelly around to make me laugh at ALL of my races I guess!;)

Jackie: Nice work out this morning. I like Low Max though I don't do it often. Perhaps I can fit in the blasts some where else since I blew them off today. We'll see what time (and energy) allow for this weekend. :)

Dallas: How was your cold run this morning?

Christine: Please tell DH I said Happy Birthday. :) So what work out did you end up doing?

Carole: I don't watch DWTS but I keep hearing them make fun of Cloris on the radio. It's a popularity contest. So is American Idol. It's only based on talent to a certain degree and after that it's all about who's the hottest or whatever. In Cloris' case, people probably don't want to vote her off because they are impressed that she's even ON the show at her age. I guess they have a point but that's not why you should keep her there. If she stinks then get rid of her.

Wendi: Glad you had a great night at bowling! I guess HSTA is a keeper for bowling days now! DH is chomping at the bit to get his first 800 series. He recently tied his high series score. I don't rightly remember the # but he was pissed cause he said there was one shot he got robbed on and that was the difference. I don't think he would have gotten the 800 but he would have gotten a new high series score.

BBL!

Hi Cheetahs!

Cathy: So what did you end up doing for a circuit? When in Nov. do you find out about the NB?

Wendy: I really like the low max blast premix. Perhaps I will do that this weekend. Glad you could get in a run! My marathon is May 23rd. Good idea to see the doc if you are not feeling right.

Wendi: Awesome bowling last night!

Carole: One of my sisters drives me batty too. I don't get my feathers ruffled too easily either. Hope you had a great run!

Linda: I don't blame you for sleeping in! Rest when you need it. Hopefully the "special apples" do the trick!

Christine: Happy birthday to DH! Glad you had a nice time last night! Sorry the workload increased. I am SO happy it is Friday too!

Dallas: How did your run go? Now that it is the weekend I will be taking a run outside and it will be COLD!

Jackie: So will you be doing a long run this weekend?

Posh: So nice to see you often! Now I am the one who never has time to post! Were you able to squeeze in that workout?

Shelly: LOL about the peasant class floor! I was wondering if your dogs stay around the property well? Our dogs do well. I have had to chase Pip down a couple times this summer, but she was just learning. All the running I do came in handy! :)

This mock election I am doing is taking up a lot of my time. It is a valuable experience though, so I am sucking it up. I will be done teaching Advanced Studies on November 13th. :) My upper body was mighty sore from my ME premix. I ran 6 miles yesterday and 4 today. Tomorrow will be.....who knows. ???? I will workout though. I don't know what's gotten in to me, but I am eating like a beast! Maybe I am instinctively putting on my winter layer of fat! :)

I am so thankful for Friday! Have a great night Cheetahs! :)

Evening Ladies!

I need to get used to running in long pants now. I'm not so sure about those running tights though. I wear the running tights under yoga pants though. What do you girls wear? Anyway, I used iTread Outdoors getting in 6.25 miles, then finished w/my own music to get 8 miles. :)

Gloria ~ Nice job on all the runs. Have fun tomorrow braving the elements. :) Your mock election sounds interesting.

Wendy ~ Good workouts there! Have fun w/Centergy tomorrow. I was thinking of doing the PUB/PLB bonus premix tomorrow. Not sure though because I may just do a circuit to get cardio and weights in together.

Shelly ~ You are DEFINITELY not looking 51!!! I liked your long hair and I had to look twice because I hardly noticed your glasses. I should have gotten the wireless frames now. They look good on you too! :) My run was hilly as well. I was thinking of stopping when the iTread stopped, but got a second wind. :)

Posh ~ IA, grades come first. Right now that's not an issue. The tow older kids are motivated to get the work done. DS5, however, needs motivation to do his writing. It's just letters or his name, but he doesn't like it. You sound like a proud momma. Glad football turned things around there. Enjoy your free night! :)

Jackie ~ Thanks about the DVD. I'll look it up. I wore these lightweight Under Armour gloves, but they ended up coming off half way through the run. I just bought my kids fingerless gloves, that turn into mittens at Target today. I thought, that could work for me too. ;)

Christine ~ The two boys were much braver this year re: the flu shots. :) DD will go next week because DH didn't want her to miss practice. Could you post your soup recipe? I picked up some lentil soup today from Corner Bakery. It sure was good, but I don't want to know the sodium content. Did you get a lot of work done today? Hope you feel better.

Well, I should have been at my friends a half hour ago, but I never want to be the first one anyway. She's having a clothing trunk show. Have a good night.

Hi girls.

I'm feelin' a leetle toasty right now. I admit it, I had a couple o' friday night cocktails. Chocolate martinis to be exact. OH SO YUMMY! :) They went right to my head too! Too bad DH had to sub on a late bowling leauge tonight. TEE HEE. ;)

So where's our Cathy-girl this evening? I'm surprised we haven't heard from her! Hope she's doin' well!

Dallas: Wow, NICE run today girl! High 5's! Wear those dang tights and show off what ya got, girlfriend! I've always been told I have a nice boo-tay so I sure as heck flaunt it when I can! ;) Umm...can ya tell I've had a couple? LOL

Gloria: The mary I plan to do is the first weekend in May. YIKES! Seems so soon already! LOL So what's the farthest distance you've run to date? I met a guy on the bus heading to my 18 mile race starting line that is running the NY mary this year and I thought of you. I'm sorry you didn't get in. Will you try again next year? If I want to do another mary after my first then I will likely try for NY at some point. I have to. I'm sooo darn close, how can I not, right? :)

Okay, I'm caught up. Not much action here this evening. Hopefully you are all having some friday night fun!

Toodles!:D

Good evening, cheetahs! :)

Wendy—you could always create a scrapbook if your walls don’t have the space…Nope, no interest in an ultra or a tri. Swimming’s not my thing. :)

Wendi—best of luck in the show tomorrow. That’d be a nice bump in standings—WTG.

Carole—gonna have to pick up some of the Banana Nut this weekend…got a hankering now. J I’m so thrilled for you that your running is beginning to gel again.

Linda—Oh by that, I meant that you are able to register on your own. If registration is closed, you can still secure your entry by running for a charity, but in that case, some organizations will ask you to raise more. For example, I was asked to raise $1500 for Livestrong because I was already registered. If I hadn’t been, I would have had to raise a minimum of $3500. Hope that makes sense. Did those apples do their magic? I so hope you keep the bug at bay. Lots more strong & healthy vibes comin' your way! I don’t think it could hurt you to go easier on some of your final taper week runs or take an extra rest day.

Christine—glad I’m not alone in leaving the most essential item behind! J Oh yes, it is all about Phillies mania around here…Good you were feeling up to the birthday dinner. Feel better soon!

Dallas—oh, it was lights out before I even made it through the first magazine…*lol*…Quiet? Hmm, not sure what you mean, but all is good. Better than good! J When it’s cold, I usually wear tights—with shorts over top. J It's quite a fashion statement. :p I might invest in some baggier pants this winter, though. Have fun @ the clothing trunk show. Never been to one of those.

Jackie—I am not happy with my gloves, either. They are men’s, and they are far too long and flop all over. :p Glad things are falling into place for you to train with your neighbor.

Posh—Those were some great ideas you’ve used in the past to raise an extremely impressive amount of $. Wow, I'm in awe! How wonderful that little Jessica walked away with the afghan. A friend of mine who ran for TnT a couple of times hosted beef n’ beers. So, does training officially begin this coming week? Did you say you have a time goal for Napa? Sorry if I missed that. My race pics are usually pretty gross, too. Never purchased any before. Did you like any of your pics from Chicago? Only select Rite-Aids by me carry the Enlytens. (The Rite-Aids that are affiliated with GNC.) GNC had them, too, but not all three flavors. I really liked the vanilla that Carole let me have. Tasted a little like cotton candy. (Right, Carole?)

Shelly—yeah, I'm a fellow queen of lists and post-its over here. J Apparently, not using them often enough. *lol* Nope, not quite a mountain this weekend. ;) Glad you are getting in some great runs.

Gloria—I should find out mid-to-late November. Thought about that today when I was driving into work. How’re things at your end? You’ve been so busy. Miss ya posting. I’m glad the mock election has been such a successful unit. No circuit after all (see below).

Had some family obligations and could not fit in my circuit tonight. Will just add some weights before or after tomorrow’s run and make that work. :)

All right, I’m off. Have a great night.

I just woke up from a nap on the couch. A three hour nap I admit.

I am going to catch up with personals while I can.

Dallas: I have some running tights that I have worn a lot. I just wear them as is with a long sleeve shirt. Fabulous run today! Have fun at the party!

Wendy: My longest distance is 13.1. No biggie I didn't get into NYC. I will try for NYC again. Funny you ask, as I was thinking about that this morning. 3 times applying is a charm, as you are automatically in after that. DH and I would love to go there and see the sights and eat really good food! I have banned myself from martinis. However, I am a fan of the ones with olives! Up, not on the rocks. :)

Cathy: I have been so flippin busy. I am WORKING on the mock election being successful! :) That is my job this weekend. I am confident that I am organized enough to do it though. I have everything planned in my head. Can't wait for your results from NB! Family comes first over working out. You will make it up. :)

I thought that I would be up all night after my nap. Not so much right now. I am beat! I'm going to bed. DH is with hanging out with the boys tonight talking about the fish, deer and birds they ALMOST got. :) Fine by me. :)

GOOD NIGHT CHEETAHS!!!
