::: CHEETAHS ::: happy Friday!

Oh thank goodness it's done! BBC Chest and Abs that is!}( I did the full work out including the cardio. Now it's time to shower and pack DS up for his weekend at MIL's house. I still haven't even packed for myself! I am running behind! YIKES!

GTG!:+

okay, guys...this tin foil hat thing is gettin' serious! i just want to make sure you are all properly protected so i am providing this link that was sent from the OAL...

www.zapatopi.net/afdb

i hope you all know i am just kidding!!! still, it's pretty funny (especially seeing how it all started). i just posted in the "loathing" thread.

geesh! i better be getting better soon. i think staying in bed for a week is starting to get to me (or is it the government?!). ;-)

thank goodness for the cathe forums. i might be tearing my hair out without having them to keep me amused...

BTW...can i just say how completely, utterly, unabashedly STOKED i am to be going to vegas the same time as some of the lovely cheetahs? i am so looking forward to it and it will be nice to see some "familiar" faces! *grin*

Hello again. Okay, I've slept some and at least have a semi functioning brain again:)

Cathy- HSC is definitely a fun one! How do you like the one arm dips?}( As far as LV goes it'll just be me and the amazing sister act (Carole and her two) And now I guess Lorie, whether she runs or not it will be great meeting her. Las Vegas is such a great place for a GTG maybe we should start planning for one by next summer (for the 2008 race) to give everyone time for reservations, plans etc.

Wendy- I'm with Christine- start a LIST!!! I hope you can manage at least a short run on the boardwalk!

Lorie- I love your smilie!!! Especially since the runner is behind the rider ;-) Sorry your sleep got so disrupted but since the prednisone definitely made a difference for you I'd say it's worth it. I hope you ended up taking another day off!! Love the link to the tin foil beanie LOL

Wendi- This job of yours is brutal!! Getting up at 0300
Glad to hear your rib injury is on the mend at least. So you are in NY? I wonder if you are near Judy.... sorry I don't know where Orange County is??

Kristi- Having fun with your laptop now? Thanks for your well wishes for tomorrow:) We look forward to hearing more from you now with your new computer!

Carole- Okay, I have to backtrack now to find out what this power circuit workout was! Starting up with the reflooring work today?

Jackie- Great to hear from you!!! I agree.... you need a vacation BIG TIME!!! Best of luck to you on your first 10 miler on Sunday
GO JACKIE Our Cheetah Roadwarrior!!!!

Christine- Love the pic of the Australian Conehead!! Poor guy, such a soleful look! I bet your shins are getting sore from being banged so much! Your HM is getting close! I think you'll be fine
with doing the 6-7 mile run, you're endurance capacity is pretty darn good... you'll be fine!

Time to go fortify myself with some cereal with craisins... (it's a routine with me Cathy!) Love it! Then a good session of StretchMax

shelly, i thought the smiley was pretty cute. i just couldn't figure out how to keep the runner ahead AND make him run the correct way!!! you are going to brun up those trails!!! i can't wait to hear all about it!

so, cheetahs, i've got a question/obsession for you. as you all know, i have not left my bed excpet to go to the doctor since last saturday. the week before i did a 9 mile run in 75 minutes and a 6.8 mile run in 60 minutes. i also did that 5K on saturday. supposing i am ready to work out again on monday, how much running "ability" will i have lost? i would not be concerned except i am supposed to be running a half-marathon on thanksgiving day and now is the time that i need to amp up my training-not slow down. i am really paranoid that this is going to set me back, especially because it is bronchitis and affecting my lungs.

has anyone taken a week (hopefully not more) of complete bed rest and been fine when they went back? i have taken rest weeks where i don't specifically work out but i am still pretty active. i haven't been sick like this in a long time (since i had pneumonia about two years ago bit i really think i am sicker this time without the pneumoina!).

can you tell i am freaking out just a little?

Amy - Glad to hear you're giving that cold the old boot! I do feel some of Cathe's steps are complicated but I just keep at it until I pick up most of them. And, if I don't like the moves she's doing, I'll do my own thing. Hope you get that Garmin. I have the 305 but that one has the HR monitor with it.

Sunny - Good to see you post. Think you did the right thing postponing the tri. Gives you more time to train too. You will knock them dead next year. Yes, the first half marathon will be Nov. 4.

Christine - Jimmy is too cute with the headphones. Did it help to soothe him?

Wendy - Great job on BBC C&A. Enjoy your weekend!

Lorie - Glad you get to go to Vegas!

Shelly - Glad you got some much needed rest. I get a vacation before my first 1/2 marathon and right after. How great is that? What are you eating before your race? Enjoy your stretch. Looking forward to reading your race report.

Holiday weekend for me. Will sneak out early today. Heading to DBF.

Have a great weekend!

Jackie

Hola, cheetah babes!!!

Wendy :: (doubt you’re still around, but I’ll post anyway)…oh, is that what those things are called—pushcarts? Here I thought they were called jitneys. What is a jitney then, like a tram? Have a BLAST with the girls and good luck on the slots!!! Mama needs a new pair o’ workout shoes!!!!!

Lorie :: *lol* on all the tinfoil shenanigans…hope you’re feeling better for your getaway with DF…I’m so, SO jealous of the LV cheetah GTG! :) But I hope you all have a FAB time!!!…Re: your training, I don’t think one week will set you back very far. You are already extremely fit…so I think you’ll bounce back quickly and easily. Now if you were out of commish for two weeks or more, I would say it might take longer. But I think you’ll be fine.

Wendi :: Sick how we love our DOMS, isn’t it?…Hope you get a good night’s rest tonight. That is one helluva wakeup time.

Kristi :: glad you’re getting your laptop back!

Carole :: glad you enjoyed your circuit mishmosh yesterday…Sounded like a toughie!…Thanks for the info on the foot exercises. I wrote those down and will give ‘em a shot.

Jackie :: I hear ya! Hope you get to relax and recharge this weekend. What’s the course look like for this Sunday’s 10 miler?

Amy :: We know you’re not Cathe bashing ~ all is good. :) The only thing that used to frustrate me is the choreography on some of the step routines, but that is changing. Slowly but surely I’m learning! In terms of the pace and intensity…when I first started, I had to modify a lot and just do what I could. But over time, I found myself able to hang with her longer, match her weight, etc. Of course, there are certainly moves that I still don’t do (e.g. tuck jumps) or times when I need more recovery time than Cathe & crew do, but I just hit pause and pick back up again after an extra minute…it’s not a source of frustration for me. I look at how far I’ve come since I’ve first started and don't think about what I can’t do (yet!) Do you like kickboxing? I think KPC is a lot of fun with several great premixes at the 40 minute mark, so you could work your way up…Re: the Garmins…all are user-friendly…I recommend the 205 or higher.

SUNNY!!!!!! :: great to see ya! I’m glad the private swim lessons are going well…This’ll be my first time doing the 51-minute premix. So far, I have done the shorter premix ~ LOVED it! How’s the PT going? Busy as ever, I bet!

Shelly :: *lol* about avoid the horse apples! Too funny!! Maybe leave a trail of snacks behind you so they get distracted with eating…best of luck tomorrow!! http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/deadhorse.gif …Oh man, the one-armed dips! Yowzas!! It’s great, though. Good idea about planning ahead for the 2008 GTG. Anywhere we meet up would be fine w/ me…It’s funny, I had a dream the other night that I made the cut for the ’08 RT…Mmm, cereal with craisins! Great idea! I am hooked on a WW cereal: Honey Almond Crisp.

Christine :: So far I’ve only done the 32 min. premix, but it was a lot of fun. Can’t wait to do the other premix…I agree ~ I always chuckle when I hear Shelly use the phrase “old bod.” I *wish* I had just a fraction of her stamina or speed!!!…BTW, I envy how spotless you keep your workspace! It seems I need a shovel at the end of every day to find my desk again.

OK, I think I got everybody. Will kick back a little longer and then bang out HSC!

Have a great night. :7

Lorie -

I was hit by one two weeks ago and my half is not this weekend but next. My first long run was shorter than I had hoped (6 miles instead of 10), but I'm back in the saddle and feeling good again. I think part of the trick is to make sure you eat very well when you start back up.

Lorie – you have me howling over the tin foil hat thing! We can’t be too careful about those fields and whatever is coming in a few years!

Shelly – I think I’ll go for the six mile loop and if I have energy I’ll do a 4 mile one. Thanks for your advice! I cannot wait to hear how your race goes! I know you wanted to run it last year so badly – I’m glad you get to run it this year!!!

Jackie – I had Jimmy in my office (he’s here now, too), and could not resist posing him at my desk and putting headphones on him. Poor dog is so forgiving of the weird things I do to him… :p Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Cathy - I guess I’ll have to break down and get HSC… My desk is not typically that clean – I straightened up because I didn’t want people to see what a slob I was. I knew I was going to share that one… :p

Okay – no idea what this weekend holds except a run and some yoga. DH is still being a brat. We’ll see what happens.

that makes me feel a little better about still running. i have already recruited two people from my work to run the half with me and i would be so disappointed if i couldn't do it.

the whole tin foil hat drama is an absolute hoot! i get such a kick out of it. sadly though, there really are people who believe in that (most of them are called schizophrenics).

jimmy must be a lot like linus. totally puts up with anything. i think my dogs REALLY want me to go back to work. i have already put clothes on ivy, furminated baloo and sadie (btw...the furminator is really awesome!), AND painted maggie's nails (she HATES it!). good thing rob is now here to protect them.

HSC premix - DONE! Wow, I just love, love, http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_love2.gif this workout!! And man, Cathe actually is downright Barry-like in some parts of this one. *lol* I thought I would just drop on those hover squats. For some reason, they get me in this one more than some of the other w/outs. Whoo! Good stuff.

Lorie :: with 6 weeks to go til your HM, I'm sure you will be A-OK with your training. And hey, with your tin foil hat on, you might even attract some solar energy to boost your speed. :p :7

Christine :: Not to be an enabler, but yeah, HSC is a goodie. I'm sorry I didn't add this one to the library sooner!...Filing is still my achilles heel, but I have been pretty good about cleaning & straightening my desk every day before I leave. With my new, smaller classroom, there is just no room for clutter...Go give that DH of yours a whack with the SPH!

All right, cheetahs! Have a great night!!
