Cathlete
Good morning, ladies! :)

A quick post while I scarf down some oatmeal.

Am pleased to say I woke up early enough to do LIC u/b circuit premix. (Originally intended to do the whole thing but had forgotten how long it was. Since I'm doing LL tomorrow, I figured I could just hit u/b). The catalog listed it as a 55 minute workout, but on the DVD itself I think Cathe must've added on the bonus step combo, which I'd never seen before. I wound up cutting it off at that point b/c she lost me there. I'll have to practice. I don't have combo #2 quite down yet, either, which I don't think is part of the two premixes I usually do on this DVD. But all in all, I'm happy to be venturing into more step territory and seeing some progress!! Enough babbling.

I was last to post again last night and caught up w/ personals then, so ladies, have a GREAT Friday!!

Hi ladies! Happy Friday!!!

Well, I think I am feeling better today. Still stuffy and some congestion, but I feel better, not worse, than yesterday. Even though I want to, I am NOT going to work out today.

I hope to be 100% for tomorrow.

I can't recall a lot from yesterday (crazy busy day) but I did want to tell Susan how sorry I am about Mary and that I am praying for both of you.

Cathy-I love LIC. It's a fun workout and has some good premixes.

Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!

Morning All!:)

Cathy: Good job on LIC. Pretty soon you'll be buying and tackling RS!}( Any plans to hit a happy hour tonight? :9

Lorie: Glad you are feeling better. I hope you feel good enough to still do your 5k tomorrow. I had to skip out on a race once for a cold. I decided the night before that I wasn't going to do it b/c I couldn't breathe well so how could I run, right? Well as it ended up I was able to breathe the entire next day! Boy was I pissed but I slept too late to make the race at the last minute. GRRRRR! x(

Christine: ((((SCRATCHES on the backside)))) to Jimmy! The collar he has around his neck looks awesome! So comfy! So much better then the old plastic lampshade thing they used to use. Is this the new style they've come out with?

My arms are sore this morning. Especially my tri's-day 2 of doms for them!}( I am definately doing some form of B&G today and will play back (pull/chin ups) by ear. I want to incorporate them again but with my arms being sore I'm not so sure it's worth it...

Have a great morning and I'll be back!

Good morning Cheetah-land!

Well, Friday's are ALWAYS rest days for me. My SO and I bowl on Thursday nights and we get home way too late (12ish) for me to get up early and try to w/o on Friday. I just don't really function on 4-5 hours sleep x(. Besides, I think I have a ride-a-thon today anyway. This was the second week that I had to just sit there and watch. I may be alright to start again next week.

Carole - Ewwwww! I'm so sorry Sadie had a run in with that skunk!

Christine - Awww, give Jimmy a gentle scratch for me. That collar is definitely a step up from the old lamp shades.

Jackie - Isn't it great when all you need is little to no weight and you still get a great w/o.

Cathy - I'll check that site out, thanks! LOL at "diction". I'm glad your observation went well. Great job on LIC...I love that one. I pull that one out when I want just a little bit of everything.

Lorie - Good for you for taking it easy today. I'll bet you'll make your race tomorrow :7.

Wendy - I couldn't even imagine trying to do pull ups with tricep DOMS...YEOUCH! B&G had such a major dread factor for me after I did it the first time but I really enjoyed it the last time I did it...except for that lunge/squat combo. That kills me every time!

Susan - I hope Mary received some positive news yesterday.

Hi to everyone else!

BBL tonight to see what everyone's been up to. Ta ta!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I know what you mean about those fast runners. I saw a few last sunday...I have always laughed at the "diction" word...Good job with the LIC ub premix. Glad you are picking up more step...:) I did the lower body circuit premix yesterday and it was a blast.

Lorie...glad to hear you are feeling better...:)

Wendy...I tried the tomato juice bath's with my other dogs, they never worked. Vets will tell you now about a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dawn dish washing soap. I did use baking soda and dog shampoo on Sadie last time, but she really got it this time. Is your neck better today? Have fun with B&G.

Wendi...enjoy your rest day. Bowling sounds fun. Yes, it does seem to be "skunk season" here, so we have to be careful about letting her out

Christine...yes, Sept and Oct are the worst months for skunks here. Sadie got a direct hit in the face, bad, and she is still a bit stinky. I was looking online last night and found out near the eyes you can use a douche? Glad Jimmy is home and healing up. A very sweet picture last night...I agree with Wendy as that neck collar looks a ot more comfy than the lamp shades I have always had!

Jackie...I have also seem many skunks dead on the road here. Sadie just has a spot next to her eye, that you have to be careful using anything harsh near. So, as I said to Christine I am going to try a douche...:)...Sounds like a good sculpting workout yesterday, I really like that Core power one from Baron...

Susan...I am so sorry for Mary's staph infection! I hope this is just a bump in the road. Mary will continue to be in my thoughs and prayers. Thank you for keeping us updated. I agree, the GS chest workout is way to long...I don't know if you remember at the RT when the PT that gave the "Over 40" talk said that the closer we get to menopause it was more beneficial to do 1 chest exercise for every 3 back exercises. So less chest work sounds fine to me...:)

Kristi...I have tried the tomato bath before and never got good results. I used baking soda and dog shampoo on Sadie. But as she still has a bad spot around her eye, I am going to try a douche, as I read that is effective.

I am planning on BBC Chest & Abs (with chatty cathy, oh, I mean Rich!!), and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning ladies!

Judy - Baron Baptiste Core Power is a separate workout. I do like it for the stretching and core work. It's not really intense but that's not what I was looking for. It's 20-25 minutes long.

Christine - Yay for the burst of energy yesterday! Glad Jimmy did well with the surgery. Good idea to have him microchipped too. He is too cute relaxing on the couch.

Wendy - My next race is a 10 miler coming up on Oct. 7. It's supposed to have lots of hills too. I'm loving all of these new emoticons. Yay for the DOMS! Enjoy your workout today!

Lorie - Glad you're feeling better. Hope you're enjoying your rest day today. Good luck with your race tomorrow. Sure hope you give that cold the boot.

Susan - I'm so sorry to hear Mary is faced with yet another hurdle. Am sending up lots and lots of prayers for her and for you to be strong with her. Please keep us updated. Good job with the 5 miles!

Cathy - Total Body Sculpting is on the Low Impact Step (I think that's the name). It's the intermediate workout by Cathe. Glad the observation lesson went well. Good job with LIC. Glad you're seeing some progress in your workouts.

Wendi - Enjoy your rest day. It is hard to get in a good workout operating off too little sleep. I've had races like that when I'm too nervous to sleep.

Carole - Poor Sadie right in the face and having to live with the stench. Does she get to stay inside? Hope she's smelling all doggified soon. :) Tune Rich out and enjoy your workout. LOL!!

I had a 4 mile pace run on schedule this morning. I used iTread #22 Hilly and Steady. This one is 20 minutes long and Grace increases the incline to 13% - OUCH! Thank goodness mine only goes to 10%. The rest of it is steady state running. I added 15 minutes of iTread #22 Tag Team and used it as a steady state run. I did some stretching and foam rolling for about 30 minutes.

Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Hi All!

Jimmy is recovering. We had a bit of a rough time last night as he tried to get comfy. Around 2:30AM he had to go out, so I took him out (he refused to go out before) and he went, then settled down (I slept on the sofa for the rest of the night). So needless to say, I did not get up and workout. Maybe over lunch (Jimmy is coming into work with me).

Cathy - Good job on LIC U/B!! Jimmy sends sloppy puppy kisses for the hug!

Lorie – Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I think you’re making a good decision not working out. Better to be safe than sorry.

Wendy – Yeah on the DOMs! The collar is now available – I found out about it on a pet forum I belong to. My vet put the old cone collar on him and it scared him – he refused to move, so DD14, her BF and I took Jim to PetCo and got him the Inflatable one. It is much better than the cone collar!

Wendi – Enjoy your rest day! I’m another who does not function well on little sleep! Puppy kisses for the scratch. Jimmy likes the collar much better.

Carole – I think Myth Busters proved that the douche does not work. That the best thing is a mix of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda (?). You can look it up on the internet. About the eyes, though – hmmm – maybe take a q-tip and be very careful! His neck collar is much better – no more banging into things – although he still gets stuck occasionally. It is wider than he is.

Jackie – I may have to pick up the Core Power workout. I really want something like that. I’ve been finding that pilates and yoga have been keeping my core strong without the intensity of a normal core workout. I did C&W abs yesterday, which is a good one, but I’m not feeling anything today.

Must go feed the beasts. They are basically sitting on my lap staring at me. :+ Have a great day all! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Hello ladies,
Mary and I are still waiting to hear from the lab about her culture. Apparently she has had this staph infection since the lumpectemy which was 4 months ago. If this infection is in the bloodstream and has spread, she will have to get the breast removed and stay in the hospital with an iv to try to flush this out. If they cannot contain it, she could die. I am thinking good thoughts and trying to be postitive for her. She is feeling beaten down right now and her hope is fading. We will get through this too, we have too:)

I am just going to do some yoga today. My hip is a little sore today. I think it is from the kickmax conditioning drills. I found those EXTREMELY difficult the other day. I will do Eoinn Finns 80 minute workout.

Have a great day everyone!

Susan

(((SUSAN)))...If I may ask with out prying...how is it that this infection was there for FOUR MONTHS undetected if it is so dangerous? You have to try to keep your friend thinking positive right along with you! The power of a positive attitude can do wonders to heal your body! I can't imagine how hard it must be for Mary to maintain a good outlook but she really needs to try hard...ESPECIALLY NOW!!!!

Friday Greetings ~

Susan~ Please know that Mary is being (((prayed for))) As mentioned before, do try to stay positive.

Cathy~ Good job on getting the LIC UB premix done so early. :)

Carole~ Oh gosh, the skunk odor must be lingering. I am so sorry x(

Christine~ (((Hugs to you and Jimmy))) It must be comforting to him to be with you all day.

Wendi~ You Friday rest plan is a good one! There is no reason to start the weekend over tired!

Hi Jackie!
Hi Kristi!

Wendy~ I share your DOMS 'happiness.' :7 In fact I had a bit of tricep DOMS from SS UB going heavy followed by a good yoga with numerous planks (holding them close to, but not touching, the mat.)

Lorrie~ I am officially a fan of Itread! Thank you! I guess I just didn't listen to the great recommendations earlier. I can be pretty slow about new workouts ventures.

This morning I did "iTread 9 60 min Outside" followed by some easy paced jogging to get to 8 miles. Wow! The intervals, although short, just about kicked my arse. I didn't plan on walking any recovery periods, but found out it was necessary to walk them! TG I have a rest day tomorrow! If anything I'll do some easy walking. DS and I are off to Pittsburgh ( 4.5-5 hr drive) tomorrow for some intense hockey games. DH and DD will stay home. They both have to study!

Wendy,
the first indication of a staph infection is swollen lymph nodes near the site of infection. Mary has had most of the underarm nodes removed because of the cancer. There are so many side of effects of chemo and the steroids that she has taken that the redness and the rash was easily explained, they thought. No doubt, it should have been diagnosed earlier.

Thanks for the positve thoughts and prayers ladies. They are SO appreciated.

Susan

Good Afternoon.

Susan: Thank you for taking the time to explain that to me.

I just finished B&G Leg Blast Premix but decided to give it a go without the weights this time and it STILL HURT LIKE CRAAAAZZZZYYYYY! I followed it up with CTX Kickbox Cardio. What a great combo!}( I bagged the back work. I will fit it in tmrw or Sunday. :)

Well, I have to rush now that I worked out longer then I thought I was going to so no time for personals but you know I'll be back later tonight!

Going to train my BF. It's weigh/measure day! It's been a month since she's been training. I know she's lost weight but now we'll see what the measuring tape and the omron say!:D

BBL girls!:)

Hey, cheetah friends! http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Happy/happy-038.gif

It feels SO good to kick off the weekend!

Lorie :: glad you are feeling a little better today. Best of luck in your race tomorrow!!

Wendy :: *lol* about RS…I don’t think so! :D No happy hour plans tonight. Was going to see my friend’s cousin’s band play tonight, but I’m feelin’ more like a nice, quiet night in. I’ll be heading out tomorrow with one of my college friends…I’m guessing you won’t wait long to get in those pull-ups. You are the queen!
http://www.smileyskit.com/music-sports-props-smileys_files/pullup.gif

AWESOME w/out!!! The Leg Blast + CTX KB. Rock on!!!…Can’t wait to hear about BF’s success! I’m sure she’s doing great under your tutelage.

Wendi :: Before I started teaching, I used to bowl in a league on Thursday nights, too. I’m not sure I could do it now because you’re right – it does become a late night. It was a long season, too – almost the whole year. But it was fun. Hope you enjoyed your rest day!

Carole :: I’m surprised the tomato juice doesn’t work ~ that’s what I’d always heard did the trick. I have been encountering *a lot* of dead skunks out on the roads here, too. Good incentive to run a little faster! *lol*…OK, I just LOST IT when I read you are going to use a douche on Sadie…I completely missed that the first time! http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sign/sign0141.gif

Jackie :: Oh OK…that is one I do not have…Whoo, 13%!! That is steep! Great run!

Christine :: how’d Jimmy do today?

Susan :: I hope the infection has not made it to the bloodstream…More (((HUGS))). This is so hard on all of you. And what a rock you’ve been for her. How is her son doing?

Judy :: I think that might be the iTread that I have…I liked it but have only done it once...I seem to prefer music when I'm out there... http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/signs003.gif to DS tomorrow in the hockey games…How come DH is studying, too?

Shelly must be busy with the long stretch at work. We miss ya!

It feels good not to have to worry about doing a PM workout. I'd love to get myself acclimated to AM workouts a few times a week. That would certainly make life easier!

Have a great night, everyone! http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/signs020.gif

Good Evening!

No time for personals. I just wanted to update you! Today was weigh and measure day for my friend that I am training. She is down 7 pounds and 4.5 inches in one month! YIPPEE!:7 :7 :7 The omron was odd...it said her BF% went UP which I find hard to believe but her BMI went DOWN. I left the omrom with her and she is going to use it tmrw morning first thing after getting on the scale. I told her first thing in the morning is really the optimal time to take any weight or measurements if possible so we'll see what it says tmrw. So anyway...I am THRILLED for her! I hope she keeps it up. I'd love to see her with her confidence and energy back!!! She has a short term goal to look as good as possible for New Year's Eve. If she's keeps up this pace then she'll have lost 25-30 pounds by then and she'll look like a new person! That would be friggen AWESOME!:)

Alright...I'm done now. I just want y'all to know that the above was not meant as a bragging thing for me. I am just seriously extremely proud of her! It is taking a lot of commitment and sacrafice on her part to keep the exercise going with me and to slowly but surely try to fix her eating issues. She is doing really well and I am very happy for her! :+

Okay, I promise I will catch up with personals tomorrow but for now I must hit the hay. I want to bang out back and abs before DS gets up and then hit the gym early for a run. We have a party to go to tmrw afternoon so I want to make as much "room" as possible for all of the good eats that will surely be there!:9 }( :9

Nighty-night girls!:)
