:::: CHEETAHS :::: Happy Fourth!

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! :) :) :)

Today will be PUB + 200 walking lunges. I am just now noticing that this week in the rotation is rather heavy on legs - maybe a little too heavy. I need to go back and review Cathe's Aug. 04 rotation and then possibly make an adjustment. What do you ladies think?

Monday was yoga; Tuesday was PLB + a 40 min. run.

Thursday: KPC cardio cond. premix (37 min) + stab. ball abs + Squeeze lower body mishmosh

Friday: B&G mishmosh + run

Saturday: DM cardio + all u/b premix (60 min)

Sunday: run

All right, no personals to catch up with...so have a great day, everyone! Enjoy your Fourth festivities!

Cathy :)

Happy Fourth of July!

cathy- i think you rotaton looks good!

today's workout was BBC's S&B. love that workout:) i am off for a 3 mile run with my running buddy/client:D

not sure if i will get a chance to come back today as we are taking the boys to a huge Zoo here in NC.
have a great day to all my cheetah pals:D

Morning Cheetahs!:)

Cathy: Yes, there is a lot of lower body in there but if it's alot of endurance work then it should be fine. Ever heard the term Freestyle? That's where you work your legs 4-6 days per week with light/no weights. I did it and it's a great tool for slimming the legs down or just for folks who tend to bulk with heavy weights and want to avoid that but still want lean, toned legs. It depends on your goals ofcourse but lots of leg work can be OKAY.

Sunny: Have fun at the zoo! DS went to TWO zoos in a week last week and loved them both! We might be going to another this weekend! LOL

My plan is to hit the gym this morning for a run. I plan on doing my new ITread. This is the time when I wish I had a TM in my home as I won't work out in public with just a sports bra on. I either wear a wicking tshirt over a sports bra or wear a shelf bra work out top. So anyway, my problem is that I am afraid the top I wear will irritate my back while I run. We'll have to see. I guess I'll go for the loosest top I have and take it from there...Wish me luck.:p

After DS' nap we are going over to my mom's. DS will get to "go swimming" while DH and my mom's BF do some "manly job" around the house. I think we are doing a small bbq dinner but it's not actually a picnic. I don't think anyone else will be there.

BBL.

Good morning cheetahs

http://foxtrotters.tripod.com/hj4_5.gif[/img]

Cathy..Good job with PLB and then a run yesterday. Yes, spending $18 on a workout and not liking it can be way sucky! Reminds me of the Staehle one I got...:(..hope the gyn visit is quick! If you need any Excel Spreadsheets for Cathe's workout, I have them. Hardcores were in a different format but still very usable. I also have 2 of the latest ones...B&G and something else. About your current rotation...I like working legs...:)

Sunny..busy day for you! Have a nice run and enjoy the Zoo with your family.

Wendy..I know this will sound funny but doesn't wearing clothes irritate the tat as it heals?? I will wish you luck finding a shirt that works. Enjoy your mini BBQ later.

Marcia...I know the feeling about trying so hard and not loosing. I think I am finding out that stress can keep weight on even when you work out and for me having some perimenopausal symptoms is a big factor. Not sure if either of those is a factor for you.

Jess...Happy Belated B-Day to Allison! Sounds like you had an awesome day.

Jackie...that is great you joined a running club. I hope you can find some trails and some fun people to run with. Good job with the iTread and some EXT work!

Shelly...we had it about 105 today! You are so right about the ceiling being the toughest part...Good luck with the 10K, I know you will kick some a$$.

Laurie...I have never had a problem doing legwork before a run. I won't do any type of speedwork though. It was so warm yesterday that I ran early and did GS legs in the afternoon.

We will be off fishing soon so it might be a rest day for me! But we should get back early. I have my camera so I hope to get some good pics!!

Have a great day...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/july4_2.gif[/img]

Happy 4th Cheetahs!

Today I think will be a run on the treadmill. Too hot to take it outside. I'm going to aim for 5 miles, but will settle for 3.5 or 4 if the run does not go well. Other than that today will be a low key day. At 7 a.m. I detailed my car before it is too hot to be outside. I think the rest of the day will be spent cleaning and orgazing mine and DH exercise/hobby room. It needs it so bad.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Carole - Have fun fishing!

SunnyD - Have fun at the zoo!

Waves to Wendy & Cathy and all who follow.

Hi gang:

I'm feeling better today after venting with all of you-thanks again :* :* I took some of your wonderful advice and analysized my portions, took my 'health' situation in play and feel I have a better handle on things. My problem is I need instant gratification and when I struggle to get that my motivation goes south very quick.

We are going to a huge BBQ today, so I'm making pickle rollups (meat, cream cheese, pickle rolled up) and the Rockin' Chipotle Dip from Tastefully Simple :9 :9 with lowfat chips and carrots. I'm bringing snacks so I don't eat all the bad stuff that I know will be there.

A workout will be tough today since we are leaving soon and won't get back until late after we light fireworks. I'm going to try and get a few ladies to go for a power walk with me to at least get some kind of activity. Oh, I'm bringing our frisbee, too, DS and I love to workout with a frisbee, too.

Have a great fourth everyone - be safe!
Marcia.

Workout done! Will shower shortly and then head back to Dick’s. I want to exchange a fleece I bought for a different color. Later will be a BBQ with the parentals. It'll just be the three of us; my sister is down the shore with her fiance. Though we do have extended fam nearby, we don't do too many gatherings all together beyond the big holidays.

It’s overcast and showering here, and as much as I appreciate the sunshine, I just love the summertime sound of rain lightly pattering on the leaves. Ahhh!

Sunny :: thanks! I looked over Cathe’s original rotation again and decided that this is fine. It *is* designed to be a fat loss/leg & glute rotation, after all. :D Enjoy your run & trip to the zoo.

Wendy :: thanks for the info on freestyle -- *heard* of it but don’t know much about it. So, would doing Squeeze add-ons and things like today’s 200 walking lunges fit into that category? Hope your back isn’t irritated during your w/out!!

Carole :: I would love the Excel spreadsheets…will PM you…enjoy your day of fishing and possibly a rest day.

Shelly :: PR vibes comin’ your way!!! Looking fwd to your report.

Hi Kristi, Marcia, and all who follow.

Cathy :)

Happy 4th Cheetahs!

How is everyone today? I am well thank you!
I ran today for 4 miles again!!!!!! I felt great and I am so proud of myself! yay!!!! :)

My 10 year old cousin who is visiting from Indiana slept over last night with DH and I!!! She and I had a "girls night" and did crafts. We baked, oh, and before that went out for Chinese food! I didn't feel bad indulging there either - now that I am running again! While I ran today in the park, she road on the swings. That worked out well. She could not believe that I did 10 times around the park in a row. She said my face was so red. Ha ha!
Getting sticky here again in Boston! :(

Wendy - I love tattoos. I have 2 medium sized tats. Take good care of that back one when you exercise especially. Take it easy!
Mine healed within 2 weeks. I love my tats!
Please send out pics of your new tat when it heals! I would love to see it! :)

Sunny - Have a blast at the zoo. The best zoo I ever went to was the San Deigo Zoo. That was quite the place I tell you. But I love all zoos since I am an animal lover.

Take care everyone, and HAPPY 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off to 3 parties today!!!!! Going to see the Boston fireworks on a friend's roof top!

-Amy

Running feels great for my soul! :)

Hey Ladies.

I'm back from the gym. I managed my run with no issues thankfully. I wore the loosest shirt I own and it worked. :) Itread 7/40 mins. I did between 3.5 and 4 miles. I had to pee mid-work out so I lost track of my exact mileage cause I paused the TM but it reset while I was in the bathroom. Grrr. I'm glad I atleast had an idea of where I left off mileage wise!

Carole, Yes, depending upon what you wear, clothes can definately irritate a healing tattoo. Loose clothing is the best way to go if you are forced to be dressed. ;) Have fun fishing! Hope you reel in the big one!:)

Kristi, Hope you had a good run today.

Marcia, Have fun at the BBQ.

Cathy, I am not an expert when it comes to Freestyle. Carole knows more then I do but I did walking lunges w/no or light weights all of the time when I was doing freestyle. I also did lots of Cathe's floorwork. I think the Squeeze stuff is fine as well. My main goal was to feel the burn while using light to no weights. If I was able to do that then I considered my work out a success.:)

Amy, So what are your tattoos of? Sounds like you have a fun day of celebrations planned! ENJOY! Congrats on your 4 mile run! You are doing so well!

Well, I have to shower up and get Joey off to his nap. We'd like to leave here in a few hours to head over to my mom's. She wants some play time with DS before we eat.

BBL! :+

Happy 4th Cheetahs!

Shelly - Good luck with your 10K today! Know you're kicking butt! Glad you're use to the hot temps. Enjoy the Rodeo festivities.

Wendy - It is hard to remember which iTread is which since they're all so similar and it's just so doggone many of them. But, I like them. Did you use your credits for July already? Scared of tatoos! OUCH!! Don't you just hate when you have to go to the bathroom mid run. Messes with my groove. Have fun at your mom's.

Laurie - A self massage is definitely not the same as somebody else's hands on your body.

Cathy - What new workout stuff did you buy? Laughing at the hill torture. Those hills kill me in my races. Thought if I worked some in every now and then, it won't be so bad the next time. I will see come Sunday morning. You know you've found a good read when you can't put the book down. Glad you enjoyed yours. I may still have the P90X spreadsheets somewhere. I'll check it out if you don't find them. Your rotation looks good to me.

Sunny - I haven't downloaded the new iTrains yet. I did take a gander at them. Will probably get it done when I'm finished here. When does the running group start? I can't remember. Hope you had a good run. Have fun at the zoo.

Carole - I tried to give my Tracey Staehle KB to my daughter. She previewed it and didn't like it. She did like KPC. I'll probably give Tracey another try. 3 strikes and she's out. Have fun fishing. Do you eat what you catch?

Kristi - Hope you had a good run. I didn't want to go out in the heat this morning either.

Marcia - Glad you're feeling better today. Enjoy your BBQ!

Amy - Great job on the 4 miles! Have fun at the parties! The Boston fireworks sounds like fun.

I decided to sleep later and do a treadmill run instead of getting up early to beat the sun. I only run outside on weekends and holidays. I felt like I needed the extra sleep. I did 8x400 speed drills with 1x400 rest in between. Got in 4.7 miles. Did SSE 6 minute abs and Cool It Off Express. I'm juts relaxing for the rest of the day.

Enjoy your 4th. Be safe and have fun!

Jackie

Happy 4th of July Ladies:) Nice that the kids are done school and the alarm doesn't go off at 6:15 but if I sleep much later it's a crunch to get my workout in. I got in about 40 minutes of yoga then brought my running gear with me to work and ran after my morning appointments. It was nice to run along the water downtown and the skies were overcast so even though it was late morning it wasn't brutal.

Cathy, you're definitely getting a good dose of lower body but it looks good. I love the mish moshibility of B&G (hey I made up a new word!:+ ). Have fun at the BBQ lol at the parentals... my kids often refer to me as the 'parental unit':)

Sunny, enjoy the zoo, say HEY to the Cheetahs for us:+

Wendy, sounds like a nice low key day, enjoy:)

Carole, have fun fishing, sounds like a good day. I like fishing but the only bites I get are from the mosquitoes:7

Kristi, good for you getting a jump on the day and cleaning your car. Enjoy your day:)

Marcia, glad you're feeling better. Have fun at the BBQ, it's tough being good when there's all of that bad (but ohh soo tasty) stuff around. Those roll ups sound good but I'm biased and love all things pickles.....it's my last name :7

Amy, good job on the run. Sounds like you had a fun night. I can just imagine how impressive the fireworks will be in Boston tonight. Lots of ewwwww....ahhhhh....ohhhhh I'm sure! Should be a BLAST!:)

Jackie, sleeping in on Holidays is the BEST! Glad you could indulge and get in a good work out.

Have sooooo much fun today Ladies!!!!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hello...

I just ordered a new pair of running shoes! Mine are about to celebrate their year birthday within the next couple of weeks so I really needed to do this. I ordered the updated version of what I currently have: Mizuno Wave Elixer. I was going to go to a real store and try on other brands to see if want to give something else a shot but these Mizunos have served me well so I've decided to go with them again after all. :)

Jackie: Yup, I used my ITrain credits for the month as soon as I signed up! LOL I am waiting (not so) patiently now for the new month to begin so I can "go shopping" again!}( I am not a fan of pain and do not believe I have any exceptionally high tolerance for it either but have tolerated getting my tats quite well! If I hadn't, I would not have gotten more then one! LOL

Laurie: Glad you got your run in after work. We are having the same cool, overcast kind of day here too. It's a nice change so long as it doesn't rain. :)

BBL!

Happy Fourth of July to all the fabulous cheetahs!!!! Only have time for a quick post today so I thought I'd tell you about my 10k today. I decided beforehand that I would take this one easy and not gun for a PR. This course is a difficult hilly one and it was unusually hot. I also didn't take a rest day yesterday like I usually do before a race. Anyway, there were alot more runners there this year, more than 200, but still a relatively small race.
Well, I still managed to finish with a respectable time of 54:02, pacing about 8:40 or so. I did take second in my old lady A.G. ;-)

I gotta tell you, it's so funny what goes through our mind when we race. I'm sure you've all done this. My thoughts today, like often are Why the he** am I doing this?? This is my LAST race!!
Then, about a minute after I'm finished I'm thinking... When is my next one!!! I'm such a spaz:p

I gotta get busy now with some cleaning. I'm having the family over for a traditional July 4th BBQ... steaks, corn-on-the-cob, salad, and of course watermelon:9

Judy- if you check in today, the article "Effort by the Numbers" is in the July/August 07 edition of Running Times.

Have a great holiday everyone!

Hey..I caught the 3 biggest fish!!!! I was shocked beyond control and about burned out my left forearm holding the pole as I reeled the first one in! What a fighter. Anyway's, had an awesome time and will post some pic's tomorrow...:)

Kristi...wow! Good job detailing the car and then a TM run!

Marcia..glad you are feeling better. It can be so tough for each of us to find what works...I LOVE Chipotle, and that dip sounds delicious!

Cathy...would I so like showers and overcast now! It is about 112. I have your email and I will just email the Excel worksheets to you. In a nutshell freestyle is light weights, high reps. Also 4-6 exercises a day, 4 to 6 days a week. If you have ANY questions feel free to email or PM me. Enjoy the family BBQ.

Amy..enjoy your parties and the fireworks.

Wendy...glad you got in a good TM run with the loose clothing. I am happy you got some new running shoes. Sticking with what works is always good.

Jackie...so glad I am not the only one that didn't like Tracy's KB. Amy Bento's Xtreme kickbox is definitely worth the money!! Sounds like you got in a great TM run. Yes, I will eat the salmon or bass. My only vegetarian deviation..:)

Laurie..so you Canadians have to work on the 4th?..:)...good job with yoga and running.

Shelly...you did great for a tough, hilly course and not resting the day before!! Way to go on the 2nd place...:)...funny as that has most likely gone thru my mind too. Enjoy your BBQ.

Well it is official..a rest day for me! And some fresh fish for dinner...

Good evening Cheetahs!

I hope you have enjoyed your day. I went to 1 party today, and it was fun! I didn't make it to the other one.

I was going to watch the fireworks at my friend's rooftop tonight in Boston, but it looks like rain. Not too sure what I am going to do yet. May watch them on TV! I know it is not the same, but my couch is comfy!

I think tomorrow I will do Kick Max. I don't want to overdo my running, since I am new again. It makes me a little scared when I become so stiff! I don't ever want an injury, even though I do stretch all the time! :)

I hope all of you enjoy your wonderful evenings.

Take care,
Amy :)
