::: CHEETAHS ::: happy b'day, Lorie!!! (Thursday)

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Morning, girls~

Super-quick post for me…

I didn’t get home til 7:30 last night, so I did not work out. This morning will be the HSC 50-min. premix.

Sunny :: I am having a few of those run-amok days myself!

Wendy :: I am figuring I will have to take BC into the hallway, too. I will probably give that one a go tomorrow.

Judy :: so which w/out do you think you’ll start with?

Wendi :: thanks for the report on HIS and LIS. Glad the package did arrive! Nothin’ like a new Cathe series to give you your second wind!

Shelly :: crackin’ up *lol* about the Jersey comment…enjoy that 7-night stretch!

Christine :: glad your leg is feeling better…I do wonder sometimes why instructors who cater to home exercisers wouldn’t be space-conscious when they plan, but I can’t hate on our Cathe. I’m sure I’ll figure out a way to adapt. It looks like a butt-buster…Our working dinner was actually enjoyable *and* productive. I have the best colleagues. Some teachers can be territorial and unwilling to share ideas and materials; our group is not.

Lorie :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_bdayparty.gif Interesting that it is your birthday and they are ordering something you don't really like. *lol* Oh well. Hope you have fun, anyway!

Carole :: ACK! Sorry ‘bout the crud. We have really been spreading it around on our thread here. I didn’t get a chance to see the video on the OD. Haven’t had much time to surf around over there. What did I miss?

Jackie :: looks like you have some nice vacation time comin’ to ya.

Kristi :: that is interesting about the sleepwalking, and that you catch yourself…my symptoms are similar…it starts with blurred vision…that’s the point where I take the Excedrin and start drinking Gatorade…then the head pain and light sensitivity kicks in…usually the pain is on the left side for me…at some point, nausea usually strikes, too. I’ll have it intense for one day and then maybe a second day of residual head pain…I cannot imagine dealing with that for several days on end!

Linda :: sorry about LIS being wrecked…good thing you re-ordered. At least you can have fun with the others in the meantime!

oh my gosh...thanks, cathy!!! that was so sweet! it made me smile really big!!!

as for the mexican, i actually suggested it because i know everyone else loves it. i normally bring my lunch, a fairly clean one, so i am not much for any of the places they order out from. i don't mind and i would rather get something that everyone loves. i just think it's super sweet that they do this.

i woke up a little later than usual, so i don't have time to do personals but will be back. i need to decide on a workout. i am thinking a nice, steady state run. maybe even without grace! gotta work off the cake i'm going to have later.

thanks for the birthday wishes!!! you made my day!!! :+

oh, i forgot to add something...

"no, there is no such thing as too much elk meat for a dog."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! christine, that was soooooo funny!!! LOVED that story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Cheetahs.

Oy, I am sooo not feeling Cheetah-like this morning. I went out last night with a few friends. We had a friggin' BLAST but oh my gosh am I paying for it this morning! *holds icepack to head while chugging coffee and water intermittently* Yup, you guessed it! HANG OVER!!!!!http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Others/compressed-111.gif[/IMG]

So what I'd LIKE to do today is tri's and bi's from the new series with a run but it all depends upon how long it takes for this headache to go away...

I guess that's all for now. I am not in any shape to do personals but promise to catch up on them later!

Be back in a bit!

Happy Birthday Lorie :7!!!! That was so sweet of you to try to please the majority with the Mexican. I know you'll tear into that cake though :9 }(...enjoy!!

Cathy - Yeah, I previewed BC (uh oh, that's going to need a different abbreviation) and thought "yup, I'll be taking that one into the dining room AND my bedroom!" It doesn't look quite as scary as I thought it was going to be, though. Enjoy HSC!

I wanted to go for a run this morning but it was just way too dark. I can't wait for the time change next weekend :). I'm going to try to squeeze it in before bowling tonight...I'm only going as a spectator, though. I have 7K next Sunday and would like to be fairly competitive. What should I do today for a run? Should I do a 7K tempo run or a longer run at a more comfortable pace, like a 9 minute pace? I will, more than likely, have a rest day tomorrow due to a long work day. What do you gals think?

I've got to get moving. See you this afternoon!

Wendy - We were posting at the same time. I just had to laugh at that smiley...way too funny! But I'm sorry that last night's festivities caught up to you :-(. It sounds like you had a great time though. I'm sure it'll clear up and you'll rock those bi's and tri's!

Good morning cheetahs! Nothing to catch up on since I was the last to post last night. Today will probably be a 4 mile run on the treadmill. It is supposed to rain all day. Anyway, I'm dragging this morning. Last night I didn't get much sleep. This is becoming a habit and I don't like it one bit.

Wendy - Sorry to hear about your rough morning, but at least you had a blast last night. I think that would more than make up for it.

Lorie - Happy birthday!

Wendi – Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but daylight savings time ends on Sunday, November 4th, instead of next weekend.
“Starting in 2007, daylight time begins in the United States on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. On the second Sunday in March, clocks are set ahead one hour at 2:00 a.m. local standard time, which becomes 3:00 a.m. local daylight time. On the first Sunday in November, clocks are set back one hour at 2:00 a.m. local daylight time, which becomes 1:00 a.m. local standard time. These dates were established by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Pub. L. no. 109-58, 119 Stat 594 (2005).”

Hi

I'm actually in the same condition as Ms. Wendypants. DH and I went out for a dinner date last evening (he works this weekend) And I had too much wine. I am just not doin' much this morning. At least I was going wait for the new DVD's to be delivered to workout. In the mean time it has been lotsa water and coffee. I'm headed to the couch...

Happy birthday Lorie. No exclamation point. It hurts my head to think about it.

Good morning cheetahs

Well it is official. I signed up for the Las Vegas half, my sister booked our flights, and I booked our room at the Excalibur!!! I am going to VEGAS!!!

Cathy...I think I avoided the bad crud, I just got a mild case. The video was about how a cat wakes you up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13N6LibElEk
Enjoy your HSC premix.

Lorie....http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/bday11.gif[/img] Have a good run today.

Wendy...sorry about the hangover. I do hope you feel better later as a workout always seems to help...

Jackie...I had a lot more energy for my run yesterday. I think I have avoided the bad crud....:)..Good job on your iTread tempo run.

Kristi...I do feel a lot better and not so drained, except my DH did have fun snoring last night!! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/strangle.gif[/img] Sorry about the sleepwalking and insomnia after the workout the other night. Hope you had fun with PLB/PUB last night. We will probably get rain too today.

Judy...sorry about the hangover. Wine can sure be a killer. Maybe a nap on the couch will help...

Linda...I often worry about jinxing myself when I kid about something. I can understand how hard it is to be mad at your dog...no matter what they do, they always seem so innocent..:)..I can't wait for the new workouts.

Wendi..thanks for the reviews...the new workouts sound way fun. I am sure we will take lots of pics in Vegas. I would opt for a more comfortable paced run today.

Christine...loved the elk dog story. My sister has had 2 basenji's. They are the coolest dogs as they don't bark...but they do yodel. Luckily they never encountered any elk...:)

I am doing a premix from Amy's Xtreme kickboxing and the legwork from Power hour.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning cheetahs! I'll be heading out the door soon. Not for a run (unfortunately) but I have to go to yet another meeting x(
It'll be a busy day for me. I have a nephew visiting in town who DH and I will be visiting and lots of errands to catch up on before going out of town tomorrow. The new workouts arrive today :7 so I'll be trying those out later today. Not sure which ones I'll do to be honest. Some kind of cardio and upper body combo.

Lorie- HAPPY BIRTHDAY :+ :+ :+ :+ To a wonderful vivacious cheetah who I am SO looking forward to meeting soon!!!!! That's great that your workplace is celebrating, and how nice of you to suggest food that everyone ELSE would like. I'm with you... I bring in my own.
Very difficult to eat healthy with take out!

Christine- Did you get in your short run yesterday? How are the legs feeling? Thanks for sharing the dog story but I haven't had a chance to read it yet x(

Carole- woooohooooooo VEGAS HERE WE COME!!! Fantastic news to start my day off with!!! Got more energy today?

Jackie- Wow you are one busy travelling lady! Going to squeeze in a half marathon also between trips?

Kristi- You sure do sound sleep deprived you poor thing! I think you should seriously consider a day or two off from workouts!

Linda- Glad the Madison damage was fairly limited! Spanky (she's a girl BTW) started to straighten out right around a year old, which is pretty typical so I understand. Hope you have a great day!

Wendi- I was a Voice major but also played the piano. I still play the piano but don't ask me to sing!! You're like me.... tore right into those new workouts!! I'm getting mine today and will probably
try at least two of them I'm sure!

Cathy- Doing your new Fave HSC today? Have a great one!!!

Wendy- Sorry about the hangover sweetie!!! Go sweat it out.... the best remedy I can think of!!

Judy- See above recommendation for Wendy ;-) You're in a waiting mode like me today!

Gotta leave now... take care cheetahs!

ShellyC

thanks to all you amazingly wonderful ladies for the birthday wishes!!! you have truly MADE MY DAY!!!

i ended up running with grace today. iTread #14. it only has two big hills, so i was happy with that. i ran 6.5 miles, so i think i am okay for mexican and cake!

i CAN NOT WAIT for vegas. you would think it would be mostly because i am getting married, but (don't tell DF) i am just as excited to meet my fellow cheetah babes!!! woo-hoo! vegas, here i come! i am still toying with the idea of doing the half...

Good morning Cheetahs!

Lorie - HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Kristi - Wow, sleepwalking! Hope you got some rest last night.

Linda - Glad Madison is out of the dog house. :) I'm doing a Road Race Series and it has really helped my running.

Wendi - Funny story with your workouts! :) Glad they made it and you got a chance to try them out. I'm going to NYC. Staying at the Manhattan Club.

Christine - Hope you got your run in today. I'll read your story later. Trying to get a quick post in before I have to do a telecom.

Cathy - Hope you had a good workout this morning. Sorry the new workouts are too much of a space hog.

Wendy - Ugh on the hangover!x( Feel better.

Judy - You too? Feel better.

Carole - Congratulations on signing up for the half! Sounds like you ladies will have loads of fun. Have a good workout!

Shelly - Hope the meeting isn't too long and boring.

I did the upper body weights from C&W with 5 minutes of walking before and after the workout. Got in a good 45 minutes. Ended with Winsor Pilates upper body.

Gotta run. Telecom starts in 2 minutes. Enjoy your day ladies!

Jackie

Happy Birthday Lorie! Sorry I didn't do that earlier but I wasn't paying any attention to the other posts! LOL Are you doing anything special to celebrate? }(

Well, it's almost 11am and I still am not fit for humanity. UGH! I think I really just need to sleep it off and unfortunately I can't do that until DS goes up so I have atleast another hour to wait. Needless to say there was no gym for me this morning which upsets me but I can always go tmrw too. If I get in a work out then I will do another new series cardio along with Tris and Bis. Bootcamp is tempting but so is Lower Intensity Step. I can't decide which I would want to tax more-brain (LIS) or body (BC)! LOL :p

Good Afternoon cheetah-pals,

fly by post from me today ( i am really sorry no time for personals)..

today's workout will be s&h legs and shoulders. since i didn't get to do it yesterday:(

HAPPY, HAPPY Birthday LORIE!!!!

jackie- of course i checked out all of the new itrains, lol. i love the tag teams. haven't done this month's yet. have you tried it?

i woke up this morning to my emailed notification. should have my new vids by tomorrow..woohooo!!!

take care everyone and ttyl...:)

Hi Cheetahs!

I ended up doing 10-10-10 and Leaner Legs this morning. It was fun. My legs are going to be toast, though – not doing weights for so long is coming back to haunt me! :p Bad news, my doggie day camp is closing, so now I have to figure out where to take HyperMutt instead. Oh well, I have a few options – just not as convenient.

Cathy – I still have to order HSC. You have been wanting it badly! And yeah, I agree – can’t hate Cathe – she’s too wonderful. Although during 10-10-10 I tripped over a chair, a rug and two dogs (but the dogs are definitely not Cathe’s fault! lol)

Lorie – Happy Birthday to you!!! Hope it’s fabulous! I love Mexican food, and you can usually find something clean on the menu. But, then again, it’s your birthday – enjoy it!! And wasn’t that the funniest story? I was in TEARS reading it… Holy cow.

Wendy – Oh, hangovers are not fun, but the part before usually is, so they are occasionally worth it! Hope the headache goes away soon! Drink a Gatoraide or something – that usually helps me.

Wendi – Maybe we can call this series the 4D (for 4 Day Split). So BC would actually be 4DBC – which would differentiate it from the other BC. *shrugs* Enjoy your day – sorry you could not get in your run because of the dark this morning.

Kristi – Hope you get sleep tonight! Enjoy your run! I wish they would do away with Daylight savings time all together. Whenever the clocks change it takes me a week to adjust. Ick.

Judy – Wow! All of the hungover Cheetahs this morning! I feel like I missed the party! :p Hope you feel better soon!

Carole – Oh, have fun in Vegas!!! I’m jealous! Sounds like a great time! We had a neighbor with a basenji – you’re right – cool dogs. That story just made me laugh. I needed it last night.

Shelly – Sorry about the meeting. I hate those. I can’t wait to hear your reviews of the new workouts! Legs are good, actually, but the Achilles is really tender still (I guess the high impact stuff I’ve been doing hasn’t helped!). No run yet. Definitely this weekend. I’m taking Jimmy for a nice long trail run!

Jackie – Sounds like a nice pleasant workout you got this morning! Enjoy your Telecom.

Sunny – OH COOL! You’re workouts will arrive tomorrow!! Have fun!

Have a good day – and I’ll leave you with another chuckle… http://amisimms.com/thhadtohabeb.html Not quite as long as the last one – but still a very funny dog story…

Okay girls...I am starting to regain my human form...it took a looong time but I am getting there. I MIGHT even get a work out in before nap time is over. Imagaine that!?!? LOL

I have java brewing and once it's done I'll settle in for personals. After that I'm hopin' to put some duds on and start pumpin' that iron!}(

...K, java is in hand...:)

Cathy: I am having a hard time deciding between LIS and BC for today. I think my body will appreciate LIS more. BC may be a bit to harsh as it's still recovering from all of the hooplah last night!:p If you do BC you must report back on it! ITA'd with your opinnion of KB so I can't wait to hear about BC. :)

Wendi: Oh yes, we had a BLAST! It was the best time I had in a while. Just 4 friends lettin' loose and having fun w/o caring what others thought...I know that sounds dangerous in a way (LOL) but it really was just alot of fun!:p I don't know what advice to give you for your run before your race. I'm not real practiced in this stuff and never put too much thought into it except to try not to wear myself/legs out before a race.

Kristi: Why no sleep last night? I had that the other night. Stinks, doesn't it? If I were you I may opt for a nap at lunch instead of a work out then!:7

Judy: Knowing you were not feeling all that great this morning comforted me. Sorry to find happiness in your pain but misery loves company you know!;) I hope you are feeling better. I finally am. I took a short nap and it helped ALOT!

Carole: Yeay for Vegas! How awesome! Wish I could be there to cheer you on...or participate even! Oh well, maybe next time!:)

Shelly: Oh my gosh, between the headache and how awful tired I was, I would probably have puked if I had tried to "sweat it out" this morning. LOL You'll be happy to know though that I feel better now so I will be attacking my work out any minute now!}( Sorry about today's meeting. What a bummer. Enjoy your visit with your nephew!

Jackie: Nice work out you did today. What is Telecom?

Sunny: Can't wait for you to try the new work outs and give us your opinnion! How's work going? :)

Christine: I read the gatorade advice too late. I feel better but that's not a bad idea. I'll have to remember that next time! Hopefully though that won't be for quite some time!!!!!:p

K, I think I will do Bi's and Tri's and LIS from the new series. BC has me very curious but I don't think I'm in any shape to try it today. I hear LIS choreo is easier then HIS. I sure hope so or I may be doing KB again! :p

I'll be back to let y'all know how it went!

Toodles!:+

My work out is done and OMG the expletives that were flyin' out of my mouth! LOL

So I was going to do Bi's and Tri's with LIS cardio so I go to put the dvd in for bi's and tri's and decide to just do the LIS weights first premix which will get shoulders done instead. I figured it was easier then switching dvd's around blah blah blah. So okay, I make it through the LIS warm up fine and think, cool-much more doable then HIS so far! I do the shoulder work-can you say KILLER! I somehow managed to match Cathe's weights through the entire work out but it was TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH! Probably the hardest shoulder work out I've done to date!!! So now we are ready to do LIS cardio...um, well what happened when I tried to do ABA cardio repeated itself here. I couldn't do the first combo and immediately got mad and turned it off! GRRRR! So I reverted quickly to plan B which is Boot Camp! HOLY CR@P ladies! 30 minutes of when the heck is this gonna end cause I think I'm gonna die is what was going through my head! LOL AWESOME but EXTREME! I must say it was TONS tougher then it even looked! WOW! I ended up doing it in my small work out room (no hall way) and it worked just fine. I didn't need that extra space...it was tough enough! TRUST ME! LOL I rounded it out with the core work from the kickbox work out-loved it!

So needless to say my work out ended up being NOTHING like I had planned but I got one heck of a kick ass work out...probably BETTER then if I had stuck with original plan!}(

GTG for now but I'll be back later!:)

Well, I'm back. Per Shelly's and Wendy's advice, I decided to make today a rest day. It is probably a better choice because I plan to run tomorrow and then do a long run on Saturday. Hopefully tonight I can catch up on some much needed sleep. So, instead of working out during lunch, I decided to go shoe shopping. I bought 2 new pairs of dress shoes for work. I really needed them.

Wendy - Good luck getting in your workout. :) It does stink to not be able to sleep. This makes my second night in a row where I got maybe 3 hours of sleep. Last night I didn't sleep well because my allergies are acting up really bad and nothing seems to be helping. DS's are the same way. (He also got DD's pink eye.) Also, my dog got me up at 1:30 along with DS, who then crawled into bed with me. Between the both of use snorting and sneezing, and DS tossing and turning, it took a couple hours before I fell back asleep. The night before was a different story. I caught myself 4 times sleep walking. I only do that when I am really tired. On top of that I got up once to let Sadie out, once to comfort Annamarie when she fell out of bed, and once when DS wet the bed at 4 a.m. I was seriously considering staying awake at 4 a.m., but thought against it since I could use the 1 ½ hours left to try to get a little sleep before my alarm went off at 5:30. Let's hope tonight is a good night. I plan to go to bed early. How is your HM training going? Are you excited about Sunday's race?

Wendy - ROFL at your description of BootCamp! If YOU think it's tough, it's going to kick my patootie! Glad we were able to get in a good workout! I am so excited for this new series!!

Kristi - good call on the rest day. Shoe shopping is ALWAYS a good activity, and very condusive to sleeping well from the huge satisfaction vibes you get from successful shoe shopping. Sending you more vibes for a restful sleep!

Sunny - Haven't tried the tag team iTread yet but plan on giving it go next week.

Christine - I read the Smurf story and I'm crying here.:) It was too funny. I'll have to give the other one a looksie tomorrow.

Wendy - Glad you're feeling better. Telecom is a telephone conference call. They're really boring. I got a few things done too.

Kristi - Glad you decided to take a rest day. Hope you get some rest tonight.

Time to go home.

Have a good evening.

Jackie
