Cathlete
Morning, cheetah babes :)

Last day of committee work - yay! :) I have to switch things up on my rotation since I missed ME last night, so I'll be doing Circuit Max this afternoon.

Wendy :: I *have* actually worked out after a dinner out before. Like, once. *lol* But I was kinda beat after yesterday's curriculum session, so I should've known that was a little too ambitious...

Gayle :: According to channel 10, the forecast for today is a high of 77-80, mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Sounds like rain is expected around the 9 o'clock hour. Have fun with whatever cardio you choose!

Laurie :: Where are you? Know you've got some big decisions on your plate. How's everything going?

Also wondering where Christine has been. Busy with work?

Have a fab Friday, ladies. Will be back in the afternoon to catch up.

~Cathy :)

TGIF Ladies!:)

YEAY-The humidity has broken! It's going to feel GREAT outside today...rain or not!:p

Cathy: Have fun doing CM. That's an oldie but a goodie!}(

Gayle: Run outside even if it's raining!!!! If you were getting the nasty humidity that we were here in Jersey then you are gonna LOVE it today!:7

I have GSBS&B + pull-ups (nope, not giving 'em up!!!), ab work and cardio at the gym with DH in the evening...probably a run w/Grace if I know me!;) I have a new ITread to try out anyway!}(

So far my legs feel fine after the leg w/o yesterday but I am still aware of my upper body. We'll have to see how it affects today's u/b work out...

BBL

Good Lord, Wendy, that is one helluva Shelly-fied w/out you're doing today!! *lol* You go, woman! I hear you on the humidity relief. Amen. And, um, ya got me a little scared with that devil face there. Am I in for some torture today or what?

~Cathy :)

LOL Cathy. CM is good! I haven't done it in soooo long so I can't really remember how tough it is but you'll find out now won't you!? ;)
BTW, congrats on passing your exam! A Masters degree! WOW! I couldn't even manage an associates!:p :7

G'morning Cheetahs! I was a Wheetah this morning (that cracks me up!), and went for a 12.5 mile bike w/ my buddies. We had to cancel y'day because of rain. It was a bit chilly this morning, should have worn a jacket! I'm off to do Legs & Back + ARX, had to eat my oatmeal first! ;-) I don't really want to do L & B, but I only have to do it 2 more times so I'll stick to the rotation. I've been adding in some Cathe leg work when I can, I just never feel L & B like her workouts!

I did up my weights/ reps in S & A y'day. I'm up to 20 lb DB's for the alternating shoulder presses & using mainly 15's or 20# for most of the other exercises. YEAH for getting stronger!

Kiersten has a checkup at the ENT this morning. She seems to be all better, her head/ neck has been fine too. She looks so cute & grown up w/ her missing bottom teeth.

Cathy ~ Congrats on passing your exams!! I bet that's a *huge* relief!! And I'm still LOL @ you w/ the ice cream sandwich, I never would have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it! I'm still jealous of the Cheetah get together!!

Wendy ~ Great workout you have planned for today! Gotta love those pullups!! I'll definitely be keeping them in my rotation after the X! I'm actually thinking of doing another round in August! }( Maybe w/ a few more *tweaks*.

OK, must get movin' or I'll lose my motivation & the kiddos will be awake! Have a good one!

Oh Jess, don't tempt me!!!
When I get back from vacation at the beginning of August I am supposed to be starting a P90Masters rotation and now you are going to dangle a chance to do another round of the X with a "buddy" in my face!?!? Grrrrr!}( :p ;) :7
I am happy to hear that your DD is better! That's great news.:)

Good morning everybody!

YaHOOOOOOOOOOO on the humidity break. FINALLY! Now outside yard work won't make me sweat just by putting on one garden glove! lol

I decided to go with iCycle 9 this morning. I wanted low impact, but hi intensity, and MAN did I get it. First time for this one. I don't like it as much as iTreads, but that's just because I'd rather run than bike. I was going to chance the weather and wait for a run, but if it doesn't rain I HAVE to get my grass cut this AM. I got it started last night but about 15 minutes in, the black clouds rolled in. And I have to push mow it since my riding mower isn't working right for some reason.

Sorry to hit and run. Gotta shower and get the kids going. Gotta pack, also, for our first baseball tournament. We'll be leaving tomorrow morning sometime and staying until after DS's Sunday afternoon game. I'm psyched. And I'm planning (thanks to Shelly, I think it was) on taking my portable DVD player and Rodney Yee's Power Yoga. LOVE IT!

Gayle

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..CONGRATS on your Masters Degree!!!! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/r/bigdance2.gif[/img] I see nothing wrong with an occasional cheat! Have fun with Circuitmax, its a fun one. I have been wondering about Christine myself?

Wendy...speaking of thongs, I used to get a brand at Target "Gillian O'Malley", they were silky and very comfy but they don't make those anymore. Where have you gotten Barely There? Way to fry the upper body today!! Glad your legs are feeling good.

Jess...so glad to hear Kiersten is doing better. Good job on the bike ride. I always added Cathe legwork during my P90X rotations also.

Amy...good job listening to your body. I am sure I don't do that enough! Like Cathy said it does have a lot to do with getting the right fit to avoid toenail loss. But it is a common problem among runners, especially distance runners.

Sunny...sorry about you loosing your voice. I will definitely keep the actitrainer in my head...:)

Gayle...yes, there is a difference, walking shoes are NOT for running. Sounds like your iCycle workout was great.

Shelly...I am laughing as I think a 9:45 pace is speedwork for me!! I do hate it when your legs argue back...way to go on 10 miles in tough terrain! You are welcome for the link. I normally Google anything I am interested in buying and so far I have found the best sites doing that. How was BM2 upper double?

Judy...I have not done any kind of a CTX rotation, but I am thinking I should. I like the weight work a lot. Good job on the running and EXT workouts.

Laura...are you running more downhills? Shinsplints can also be cause by slapping your toes down as you run and maybe slower running is causing you to do that. I will keep my fingers crossed for your house! Remember too, clean eating does help in weight loss and that sometimes is more important as we age.

I am doing a 5-6 mile run, abs and MIS Shoulders, Bi's and Tri's.

Have a great friday!

good morning,

just finished bootcamp class. My DB came to my class this morning and I kicked his butt. The weather is really nice here in ohio this morning. Cant ask for a better day.

carole- I am trying to clean up my eating as that is my number one enemy on the get fit cycle. But today we are going out to eat at ryans so I have made sure to eat good all week just so I can splurge today. Its so hard for me, the eating part. Both sides of my family have eating problems.
cathy- since the weather has been better I started running more but I have been teaching bootcamp class 2x week since october. I started adding the lifting in the pool a few weeks ago hoping that would help get more definition in my arms. I am one of those people thatd dont develop muscle quickly.

thanks for the good wishes on my homes!

Good morning my new running buddies! :)

How are you? The humidity is gone in Boston now, and what a wonderful morning it was to run 3 miles at my town track! I ran 3 and walked 2 miles.

I feel great! I don't mind running at the track (Wendy!) for now, since I am a beginning runner again. But....I may decide to venture out. Right now the track feels good and safe for me! :)

I love my Ryka running shoes (with the high arch that supports my feet and joints). Hopefully no blue toenails this time around!

One of my best friends came over last night, and I cooked ravioli's (easy enough!) and we had broccoli (my FAV veggie!) and garlic bread. I cut out wine in my diet (was drinking one glass a night with dinner - but wanted to lose that liquor weight!). But last night my friend and I split a bottle of Pinot Noir. It is supposed to be the healthiest wine out there to drink!

I didn't think I would be able to get up early this AM, but I did! :)

My friend (who was over for dinner last night) is a big runner! She lost 40 pounds about 2 years ago when she started!!!!! She runs about 6 days a week at the gym. I told her I was just doing 3 because I am new at it again and do not want injury.

Do you ladies think I could slowly go up to 4-5 days a week? I hope I can. :)

This is long enough, sorry. I enjoy getting to know you all on this post. I am still learning about you!

Take care, and have a great weekend! :)

Amy

"Life is short - Be the best you can be every day of your life!" :)
Running feels great for my soul! :)

Good morning cheetahfriends! Well, my vacation officially ends today
:( Back to work tonight! Hopefully my body can adjust to the nightwork without too much trouble. My legs are pretty quiet today ;-) No grumbling from them this morning, so naturally I'll have to work them out}(

Cathy- Congratulations on passing the exam and getting your Masters!!!! Very impressive:eek: What are your long term goals now with this degree? Have a great time with CircuitMax today. It's a fantastic calorie burner!

Wendy- You may have a point about DH being an XMarine. He always hated those forced runs. Running is always more pleasant when you are doing it because you want to. My MIL and FIL have been complaining to us alot about the high heat and humidity back in Jersey... glad you are finally getting a break! Doing a "shellyfied" w/o today? Doing a Grace Itread does make the time go faster on the old dreadmill.

Jess- Hey there wheetahgal! Too cute :+ I've frequently heard that complaint about p90x being too light on legs. You sure are lifting some serious poundage there girl! WTG!

Gayle- Have fun at your baseball tournament.... good luck!

Carole- I haven't done the BM2 DUB workout for a while... it really did me in yesterday! I was pretty pooped by the time I reached the ab section and refused to do the repeat parts! I actually yelled at the TV when the cue card came up to repeat previous section...."it's not happening!!" I guess we've all had our share at yelling at the TV with Cathe workouts;-) Have a great run today... pulling out a real oldie today with MIS! Hey, did you send in the info on the Who's who for the RT? I think this is an awesome idea!

Amy the smiley freak- Great job with your track run! Tracks are great for working on interval speedwork. If you increase slowly I see no reason why you can't be up to 4-5 runs per week. Just don't do any tough runs, like long runs, hill work or speed workouts back to back.

Laura- How exciting that the frame is going up for your new home. It's really great to actually start seeing the house take form! Have a wonderful vacation time... you certainly deserve it! Sorry though that you are dealing with some shinsplints! The slower pace may well have had you putting more impact than usual on the ball of your foot.

Christine- where are you? We've missed ya!

Time to get busy! For today it'll be step/hi lo cardio... maybe DM ultracardio blast, or maybe Mindy Mylrea's Action Packed vid.
Then it's the legs turn... B&G :7

Later y'all

ShellyC

Good morning, everyone!

I just finished my long run (5 miles) and then power walked the last 3 back to my vehicle. Whew!! I think the 3 walking was harder, I am pooped to say the least and I have LOTS on my plate today, I need to find more energy somewhere (maybe in my coffee cup). I just finished a yummy protein shake and now to tackle my Tastefully Simple Office. I share the space with DH and mine is a total mess with stuff everywhere - I need the Clean Sweep crew to come and reorganize me ;-) I have 'another' doctor appointment late this afternoon to see if they can try something else to get me past this almost constant TOTM. If things go well and I'm feeling up to it, DH is taking me out to eat tonight.

I'm off to get some much needed java and catch up here!
I'll be back.

Marcia.

Hey guys. Back for a quickie check in again.

MowMax is done....but not after breaking 2 of my 3 mowers! LOL. My riding mower kept clumping up and spitting out the grass...parked it. My walk-behind mower...well, let's just say I ripped the cord when I was trying to pull-start it...handle ended up in my hand...parked that. FINALLY got the push mower out. Should have done that from the very beginning.

Just bought Cardio Coach Press Play after being enabled on the Open Discussion...it's on tap for tomorrow morning. Any reviews???

Gayle

No reviews, Gayle, but you'll have to tell us what you think. I've been thinking about getting that one, too, but just never have. Since you've taken the plunge let me know what you think.

Thanks, Marcia.

Will do, Marcia. I've got that followed by BBC Total Body tomorrow morning. Gotta get an early start, I think! LOL

By the way, what's your feeling (now that you've had it for a while) of P90X??? Just wondering!

Gayle

Hi Cheetahs!

Playing catch up both at work and at home. Will try and catch up on what everyone's been up to the past couple of days later.

My workout today was a 4 mile run, 10 minutes on the elliptical and a 10 minute stretch. Hoping for a 7 mile run in the morning. I'll have to be up and out by 5:00 to beat the heat.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

Jackie

Gayle - I love P90X. I haven't been able to concentrate on a full rotation of it yet, but I'm hoping to do that after my HM. Do you miss it? I've been incorporating it with my HM training and using ARX a lot, too.

Marcia.

Good Afternoon cheetahs!!

I am on the run, but wanted to check in really quick with everyone.

No workout today. I plan on doing one of my istretches later on today. I am feeling much better, not yet 100% but good enough to run tomorrow:7 I am starting to get nervous almost like this is my first race.

on another note i got my cycling shoes and cleats today, woohoooo!! can't wait to try them them out}( .
i've almost been wondering alot about christine. it's not like her to not check in for so many days....hmmmm

gotta go, we have the air conditioner guy here because ours went on the blink and it's been in the 90's here...

enjoy the rest of your day~:D

ETA- Wendy and Jess, if you do P90x in august i will do it with you two. Yea!

Hey! Quick check-in for me!

GSBS&B is done. I added a pull-up and abs circuit to it. I have decided to nixx cardio for today. I looked at my week and already have 4 days of cardio in so I'm good to go until Sunday!:)
