::: CHEETAHS ::: Beastly Monday

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Morning, cheetahs! Bleary-eyed Ski Bunny Cheetah reporting for personals duty.

Linda :: Lately, I’ve been going for 20-30 minute sessions on the EXT. It’s all about time efficiency right now. Did you do the 4DS u/b yesterday?

Judy :: I’m a couch crasher, too. Something about the TV puts me to sleep. Three weeks of S&H is a long time – my hat’s off to you. I think I would get bored, too. At the moment, slow workouts are not my thing.

Wendy :: I’ve never heard of anyone having a problem with keeping the starter earrings in.
As long as something is in there, it shouldn’t close up.

Carole :: Yeah, I think those two make a good pair…The massage was definitely good for the body…it wasn’t BAD…but I like my MT at the spa just a bit better. Thought I’d try to save a few bucks, but really, if you find someone who’s good, why go elsewhere? …How’s the ITB today?

Jackie :: My hair stylist is good, but lately she has been scissors-happy, too…Is the March RW out yet?

Shelly :: No run yesterday – the winds were unbelievable. I’m content with leaning more on the EXT during the winter. I didn’t have time for yoga yesterday since I inserted the kettlebell workout in there. I can’t believe you’re gonna be an East Coast Cheetah soon – yay for us!!!

Christine :: *lol* about DH being “really happy” the previous night…your friends’ house sounds incredible…How’s Jimmy doing?

Dallas :: Good grief, 7 games??? I’m a soccer fan, but I think that'd be a little much even for me. :) What was involved in the liver detox?

Sunny :: sounds like a great workout yesterday…I found IC Vol. 2 yesterday at Dick’s…bought it but haven’t opened it…tell me, Ebert, is it worth keeping?

(Enabler) Lorie ;) :: Thanks for the review of Yoga for Stress Relief. Sounds like it’d be right up my alley right now! Oh yeah, I'm hangin' on to those workouts…Granted, the schedule might get altered a bit when things get really crazy (like now), but I’m not ever making the mistake again of sacrificing my own health for any job.

Wendi :: Sounds like SO did quite well in the tourney. Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction to the oats allergy, too. Whodathunk? Thank God I’m not allergic to cheesecake or anything. Now THAT would be serious! *lol* There are a couple of others, too, but I haven’t eaten them in a long time, so I’m only eliminating the oats right now.

Posh :: it’s good to hear from you…we miss ya when you’re not around…sorry you’ve had a rough go of it lately…(((HUGS))) to you!…Oh, and I absolutely lost it when I read that you’ve “hung out in the vineyards.” Too funny!

Today is a scheduled rest day. I have some meetings after school and then some errands to run immediately after, so I'm thinkin' that works well.

Hope your Monday is smooth and painless, my friends!

good morning, lovely cheetah babes!

i believe i am all caught up on personals for once!!!

(twin enabler) cathy-i do think the yoga for stress relief would be a good one for you. there are many different sections depending upon what your goal is. i did the insomnia one last night and am hoping to do the morning wake-up one before my w/o. so glad you have decided that NO job is worth your health. i worked for a tyrant of a principal a few years ago and it was making me truly sick (had to go on high blood pressure medicine). anyway, i got placed at a different school and guess what? no more meds. it was weird because the cardiologist couldn't figure out wht someone like me (small, athletic, eats well, etc.) would have high BP. he had me come in for lots of tests. i told him it was probably situational, but he didn't think it was possible because of all my symptoms. anyway, the point of this book is that stress can really *F* with you. take care of yourself!!!

so, i don't knwo what my w/o is for today. i am thinking the EXT since i haven't done it for a while. surprisingly, the legs are still feeling good.

Lorie, I'm definitely going to look into that one. Rush shipping, please! *lol* I agree with you completely about work, but it was one of those lessons I had to learn the hard way a couple of years ago.

BTW, weighed in this morning and wasn't expecting anything since I'd gone slightly over points last week, but I'm down a lb. Yippee!

cathy-yay for the loss!!! i find that there are times i am SURE ihave gained only to find out i have either lost or maintained. :) so far, i would recommend the stress dvd. i liked all the options just haven't tried tham all yet. it also has an interview with the dalai lama. i like the instructor. her voice is very soothing and she shows modifications and how to use blankets or blocks if you can't hold a pose. okay, not gonna enable you any more right now. ;-)

Good Morning Cheetah babes!

Im sooo happy to be off today but they did call to see if I wanted to work an OT shift. I already took one for tomorrow night so there was no way I was leaving DS and going in for my 4th day shift! I hate day shifts! My boss needs to hire someone and until he as a few of these situations he won't bother. Why would he? Ive already taken 3 OT's shifts this month...nice when I get my check but I don't like doing them!LOL

Cathy** Congrats on the lbs lost! Better then a pound gained, right? Enjoy your rest day although meetings really don't sound like resting!

Lorie** Have a good workout, whatever you decide!

My workout today is gonna be BM2 and a full body workout! Tomorrow I am planning a long run. I may rent a scary movie for that one.:)

Have a good day!

Lori

:)

Hey Monday Cheetah Check In ladies!

Personals first:

Lorie- Is the Yoga for Stress Relief by Eionn Finn? I couldn't find it.

Cathy- Make it a good Monday and I hope your errands are pleasant! Way to go on net loss!

Hi there "Posh" :) Your DH is right, just move forward and don't beat yourself up. I hope teen issues have resolved. That alone can really upset the family! Keep thinking of us,we will be here when you need us.

Wendi- You and SO are quite the bowlers, and that must have been some tournament. My dad and uncle were big into bowling. He used to take us often. We even used to meet him at his lunch break on our days off of school to bowl sometimes.

Dallas- Are you needing a break from soccer? Or do your kids have practice tonight? DS is getting into his busy hockey season. Right now he is juggling between his High School team and his Travel Team. Next weekend ours will be quite similar to your last one.

Christine - How are you and Jimmy today? Better I hope!

Carole- What freestyle legs are you doing today? Are you using Cathe or composing your own workouts?

Shelly- How was your night?

Wendy- What is up with the X this week? I visited your MDB site. It is very interesting! If I get the itch, next time I spend money I'll sign up with you first. But after this last spending spree, it will be quite a while. And, I still haven't done the STS pre-sale.

Hi Kristi, Jackie and Sunny!!!

Today I am giving myself a choice between a Chest/ back/ shoulder/ab WO or a TM run. Tomorrow will be the opposite.

Good Monday morning ladies!

I caught up on personals late last night so this will be kind of short. I gotta get my tuchus (which is a leetle bit tired) in gear and get to work.

My workout this morning was B&G, as is. Although, I do add sit & stands, glute squeezes, and an extra set of firewalkers in place of the hamstring roll ins. My hammies are a bit more developed than I'd like so I lay off of those when I can. I dare say that workout is getting a teensy bit easier }(.

Cathy - WTG on the loss! Oh, I'm so glad to hear that cheesecake was not one of your allergies...how would you ever cope :p? I hope you get all accomplished that you have on your plate today. I will be joining you on Errand Max this afternoon. I have soooooooo much to get done before we leave for Canada tomorrow am.

Lorie - Enjoy your EXT if that's what you decide to do! You are really digging that yoga these days, aren't you?

Lori - Glad to hear that you said no to the extra OT...sometimes you have to let it blow up in the boss' face for them to get the picture. Uh, BM2 plus *another* full body workout...W O W!

Judy - That tourney always brings some of the local pros out and the all of the heavy hitters...$2500 for first. That sounded like a fun way to spend an afternoon with your dad and uncle. Enjoy whatever workout you decide on. Awwww, come on...you mean you *don't* want to run outside today ;)? Stay warm! Yeah, I'm definitely NOT looking forward to going to work this morning .

Dallas - Nice workout yesterday. Thanks for the compliment. Hey, you stay warm out there too!

Posh - We missed ya dahling!! Just dust yourself off and get right back to it. Don't sweat it, okay?

Yikes, I'm late. See you all tonight!

Morning Cheetahs.

I left out the word "GOOD" intentionally. Y'day I had ZERO energy. I was a slug all day long. No energy or ambition to do much of anything. I didn't work out, I didn't do anything that even slightly resembled housework except for washing dishes only because that just couldn't be avoided. I was OKAY with it because I figured 2 days of rest could do me good once in a while and had planned on doubling up on my work outs today.

Well wouldn't ya know it that I went to bed feeling fine but woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat and that achey/feverish feeling. x( I took my temp when I got up this morning. I normally run low (around 97ish) and I was at about 98.8 so yeah, that's a little fever for me. BLECH! I don't know where this came from! I was rid of the crud...or atleast I THOUGHT I was and I thought that was only a COLD trying to get me...not FEVER! DOUBLE BLECH! Soooo anyway...I guess it'll be another rest day for me unless this thing leaves as quickly as it came on. I'll hafta wait and see. Getting a 24 hour flu is not unusual for me. Hopefully that's all this is so that I can work out tmrw if not today....

As far as why I was such a waste yesterday...I attribute that to a late night which lead to my normal sleep pattern being off. I went to bed around 1am and slept until around 8 which is enough sleep but at the wrong time....

After I posted y'day morning I was reading all of your posts but simply had no drive to post myself. I am going to start fresh today and will keep up the best I can. Goodness knows I'll have the time, it just depends on how I feel as the day progresses.

Wow, that was alot of rambling about nothing, ey? Sorry! LOL

Cathy: CONGRATS ON THE WEIGHT LOSS!!!!! Thanks re the starter earrings. I'm definately keepin' them just incase! Smart call on the rest day today. No worries on the skiing. I know how crazy things have been for you. Once things calm down we'll get together. The A/C idea you had sounds great. We could also do a non-gambling shore point instead.

Lorie: I read your post about the crummy principle you had. So happy you were smart and got out of there! No job is worth it!!! Glad you enjoyed your new yoga vid. It sounds wonderful but also sounds like the kind of yoga I just can't handle when I actually have to do it! LOL

Lori: I feel you pain. My job needs to hire more people for certain shifts as well but they won't. WHY? Because dumb schmucks like me agree to work the shifts that they need covered but yet they go and hire a girl for ONE shift per where it's not even truly needed! UGH!
Enjoy your day with your son!!!

Judy: This week is week 2 of the X+ rotation but I am about to miss the first 2 days...I will simply take the work outs I miss and tack them on at the end. I was supposed to do Total Body+ y'day and cardio (running) and Abs/Core+ today. Then when I blew it off y'day I was going to do both TB and cardio with A/C TODAY but now I'm sick. GRRRR! Thanks for checkin' out my site. Whenever you feel the itch, if you want a BB product, I'm your girl! LOL

Wendi: I hope you have an easier day at work today.

K, I think that catches me up since this morning. Sorry for not responding to y'day's posts. :-(

BBIAB.

Good Morning All!

Well, Jimmy is not better. He ate a little last night, but got sick a bit this morning. I’m going to take him to work with me today to see how he does. I may end up taking him to the vet if he doesn’t perk up. He was bright eyed yesterday, but very low key which is highly unusual for an Aussie – especially this Aussie. He sleeping beside me on the sofa right now – but that’s normal for the mornings. I’m going to do a Slo Mo leg premix and some cardio, not sure what.

DD15 had fun making fried shrimp - they had to do a big poster with the recipe written in French (for French class) then make the shrimp. They even saved one for DH and me. It was quite good. Very nice kids.

Cathy – I’m a bit bleary-eyed myself. I’m not in the mood for work, but as I haven’t been in the office since Tuesday of last week, figure I should go in! :p WAY TO GO on the Weight Loss!!! YEAH!!! Enjoy your rest day!

Lorie – Glad to hear your legs are feeling good.

Lori – I don’t blame you on the OT shifts! I definitely prefer being home with the family. Too funny about renting a scary movie for your long run!

Judy – Enjoy your Upper Body or run today! Isn’t it nice to have choices? I’m feeling better but as I said above, Jimmy isn’t.

Wendi – Send my congrats to SO! I can see your point about having upper body strength simply from work. I’m with you on not looking forward to working. Let’s just take a day off. :p (wouldn’t that be nice?!)

Wendy – Oh man, I hope you’re feeling better soon!!! The X+ will be there when you get better!

Well, I’m off! Have a good day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..I am sure I will never change my massage therapist unless she moves away!! it is definitely worth the money when you find a good one. Hip feels good this morning...:)...Enjoy your restful monday and congrats on the weight loss...:D

Lorie...thanks, I was just happy to get in a bit more than 6 miles!! Good job with yoga yesterday. I do agree about your thoughts on stress...it can very well make anyone sick.

Lori...Have fun with BM2 and your total body workout.

Judy...I will let you know how the freestyle goes for my pain...geeze...10 degrees yesterday!! I plan on doing B&G Standing(omitting the firewalkers)and abs today. I will add on some calf raises. Enjoy your workout today.

Wendi...glad SO did okay. I bet it could be hard to hold on to the 8th spot after the other games. Thanks, I am going to treat this like I would ITB this week, avoid exercises that stress the area and hopefully see an improvement. Good job with B&G.

Linda...I want to see The Bucket List too. Fools Gold was quite cute. Good job with your cardio sculpt workout yesterday.

Wendy..sorry you woke up feeling cruddy!! More Airborne for you. Hope you do feel better as the day goes on...(((HUGS)))

Christine..good job on the 20 mile bike ride! I never knew that about switching dog food. I tend to not switch any with my cats or dogs very often. I just hope this pain goes away soon, it is driving me crazy!! How did the cooking class go yesterday? Sorry to hear about Jimmy. Maybe taking him in will ease your mind. Have fun with Slo-mo.

Jackie...I think it would be great to be pain free forever! Yes, DH is still doing the exercises.

Dallas..now that sounds like a fun Bible study!! My hip feels fine right now. I did roll the area and my legs out after my run and stretched my hips, I will do the same all week. Interesting as another one of the Freestyle threads started yesterday..

Posh..I am with your DH and don't beat yourself up. This is a new week, take it day by day...:)

So it'll be B&G standing (omitting the firewalkers as they could irritate the outer thigh/hip) I will add on some calf raises, do some abs and 40 min on my EXT.

Have a great day...:)

Carole- I spotted that freestyle thread y'day too and thought of you. I think you are wise to omit those fire walkers, until the pain subsides.

Wendy- Yuck! I hope you do not have a long lasting virus. Take it easy and push those fluids! And wash your hands so DS & DH stay healthy. OK, I am done nagging and acting like a mother now.

OK, I just finished PUB (including abs) going very heavy for me, and I feel pumped! This was such a welcome change after S&H. Now I am done with upper body for the week and can do Core Synergy on my other scheduled UB day. Next week will be less mileage running wise, more yoga/ core and no weights.

judy-no, it's not eoin. it's barbara benagh (or something like that). i got it on amazon with my eoin dvd.

quickie w/o report before my next meeting. i did CC6 with candace and LOVED it!!! it was a lot tougher than sean's. then, i did gs bsb (didn't have time for ct). probably yoga tonight.

bbl!

Well, Jimmy is still not eating and he looks pretty darned miserable. I'm going to take him to the vet this morning. Poor guy. He got sick three times during my workout. I feel so bad for him!

I did get in a nice little mish mosh. I did Slo mo Legs - 2 sets of each exercise except the single legged squats on the ball - my ball is kind of short so that one hurts - more toys I need to buy! In between the sets, I did my favorite combos from HLX and HLD. I like cardio inbetween heavy legs to get the lactic acid out. It may be counter productive but it seems to work for me.

Well, I must be off! I'll be back later for personals!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Wendi - Sorry SO didn't do as well as he wanted in the tournament. Glad he made a good showing. Hope you can work your mom in sometime soon. Mine lives about 3 minutes from me and that's walking.

Dallas - I saw the blog update. Those ladies are lifting some heavy weights. The house is coming along. I'm hoping painting will start within a week. Also hoping the weather stays dry for awhile so that the drive can be graded and the septic system can be done.

Thomasina - Sorry for the terrible week. Hope this one goes much better for you. You have been missed.

Cathy - Did you rest well last night? Yes, the March RW is out and it has Paula Radcliffe on the cover. Enjoy your rest day. Congratulations on the weight loss! WTG!!

Lorie - Your yoga workouts sound so relaxing. Since you can't work out like you want, is your wait maintaining? Agree work related stress is definitely not worth health problems. Hope you enjoy your workout today.

Lori - Enjoy your off day with DS. I don't like working OT for anyone.

Judy - Good workout today!

Wendy - Hope the crud is not settling in. Get plenty of rest girl.

Christine - I'm sorry to hear Jimmy is not feeling better.

Carole - Glad the hip feels a little better. Enjoy your workout pain free I hope.

Hello to all others.

I did P90X C& B and ARX. It went much better today than last week. Need all of the energy you can muster for this workout. I was able to do more reps today too.

Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Hi Girls.

Well, I took ibuprofen this morning when I got up and I'm happy to say that I feel better now. Wisdom may dictate to still take today as a rest day but IF my fever does NOT come back by the time I can work out I am going to do cardio as scheduled for today. I will not be running since the daycare at the gym is already closed but I'll probably do IntervalX+ instead. I need to move. I have been stagnant for a day and a half and can't stand it anymore! It's not even like I can just take DS out for a nice walk because it's deadly cold out there today!!!! x(

This plan is subject to change depending up on how I feel thugh so we'll see...

Atleast I got off my duff this morning and started doing some laundry so I'm already doing better then y'day! LOL

That's about all for now. I'll be back in a bit for personals though!:)

Well Jimmy has a partial blockage of the intestine. He’s still at the vet (poor guy was shaking up a storm – I felt horrible leaving him there) – they want to give him an IV and make sure he’s okay. I’m glad I took him in. I’ll pick him up tonight at 5PM. No weigh-in today because I already took my break.

Carole – it’s so nice just to get outside in this weather! Yeah, a lot of people recommend switching up foods. It’s supposed to help the dogs get a more complete diet. I know it’s helped Jimmy tolerate foods better than Tucker could. Although he’s not tolerating this very well. DD15 had fun cooking yesterday.

Judy – good job with PUB! Don’t you LOVE that feeling? I was doing Slo Mo legs and enjoying the definition I am only now able to see. It felt wonderful!

Lorie – good job with CC6 and GS BSB! Wow!

Jackie – Thanks for the support! Way to go on P90X C&B and ARX! Those are killer! Glad it’s getting “easier” – although it will never be easy! Good job!

Wendy – glad to hear you’re going better! Hope it keeps up!

Well, I’m at work, I supposed I should actually work! :+

Judy...it seems a freestyle thread comes up every 6 months or so...:)...Way to go on PUB heavy!

Christine...Sorry about Jimmy!! I can bet you hate to leave him. I am sure he will be better soon. Thanks for the food info...:)...Sounds like a nice little mish mosh! I say "Whatever works for you" is the best way...:)

Jackie..thanks, most of my workouts are pain free except for running and then only past 5 miles! Good job on P90X C&B and doing more reps.

Wendy...I wish I could send you our weather so you could take Joey out, it is about 70 and breezy. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Got done with B&G standing and 40 min on my EXT...I am thinking this freestyle rotation is just what I needed...I feel so energized...:)

Yeah so I jinxed myself!x(

No sooner did I post that I was going to try to work out this afternoon then I started feeling cr@ppy again. I took more ibuprofen and it has knocked it out again but now my time is limited as I allowed myself a 2 hour nap this afternoon. If I rushed I could probably still sneak in IntervalX+ but I don't know if it's worth it....

I finally got my new phone today. YAY. I didn't think I'd be able to keep my old phone number but apparently I can. That's good. This way I don't have to bug people with a phone number change. :)

Christine: I'm sending get well wishes wishes as well as many butt and behind the ear scratches to Jimmy!!!!:+

Carole: OMG I would LOVE to have 70 degree weather with a nice breeze. That sounds like my version of heaven! :)

Judy: I smiled when I read your "motherly" post. No worries. I like having more then one mom once in a while. ;)

Jackie: Glad you were in better shape to BRING IT with X C&B. That work out sure does take every ounce of energy one has but it's FANTASTIC!

I guess that about catches me up for now.

BBL!

Evening, cheetahs! :)

I am enjoying some nice DOMS in the abs today.

Lorie :: no need to do any more enabling—I’m sold! :)

Lori :: well, I guess none of our “rest” days are actually rest days, are they?…just a break from working out. I love having scheduled them for Mondays because that is often a busy day of the week for me at work. Don't blame on turning down the OT.

Judy :: yep, I always strive to make ‘em good ones…but that being said, there are some Mondays ya just ain’t ready for. *lol* Too much workin’ this weekend! :) I am always amazed by the kids who play two-sport seasons and still manage to keep up their grades.

Wendi :: Good Lord, you’re adding to B&G??? Have a WONDERFUL time in Canada!!

Wendy :: Hey, you’ve had a fever today – no need to push. Let your body repair. Really. :)…Yeah, I’ve structured my rotations to a full rest day on Mondays now, and so far, me likey!…congrats on the new phone…what kind did you get?

Christine :: Oh my goodness, poor Jimmy! How the heck did that happen? What a fun project for DD15. Hmmm, I must invent more assignments involving food. Kids, write an ode to cheesecake...

Carole :: that’s great that DH is keeping up with the exercises. You might just have a convert yet…Glad the freestyle is leavin’ you pumped!...how's John doing these days?

Jackie :: I knocked out quickly…Did have some more crazy dreams…My brain’s been a bit overactive, I suppose :)…I have to pick up that issue of RW…Have let some subscriptions lapse...Tough workouts!

Hi to all the other cheetahs who haven't yet checked in.

GN and stay warm (East Coast & Midwest cheetahs)!

good evening cheetah babes!

i just finished the yoga for stress dvd. today i did the lower back pain and clear your mind sections. it is very different from eoin because it is less active and more about relaxing and letting go. i really like it. i feel very "at peace" after i do it. i am planning on trying the full eoin volume 1 tomorrow evening.

lori-i decided upon CC6 with candace and gs bsb. it was a good workout.

wendi-i am really getting into this yoga! i see what it does for my body and my mind and i love it!

wendy-REST! that's all i have to say!

christine-what did i miss about jimmy?!?! what's going on with him?!?! what did the vet say?! how did his intestine get blocked? poor baby! the pups send kisses.

carole-how was the workout? it's funny that you omit the firewalkers (which i love) and i omit the calf workout. i need to check out this freestyle rotation.

jackie-i really have been working out a lot. i just had to lay off running for a while. i started lifting heavy and doing a lot of other cardio (EXT, bosu) and my weight has actually gone down a pound or two. i don't really weight myself all that often but i think i'm around 105 and 5'3, so i don't really want to lose or gain much!

cathy-of course you are! ;-)

well, it's off to relax and hopefully fall asleep early so i can wake up early and work out. i am thinking about iTread circuit circus or bosu blast but i don't know yet. i'll see what i feel like in the mornin'!

kishies!
